Any opinion on mesafanshipping? (Clemont x Misty)

Not too big on ships where the two characters have never met, but I’m a fan of ‘tomboy x nerd’ dynamic and I can see Misty being super supportive of his inventing and Clemont making stuff just to impress her.

Okay, I’m finally posting the mesafanshipping story I promised almost two months ago!!!! Let me know if y’all want to see more, and/or you want to see more pokeshipping stories!!!! Hope y’all like it!!!

Clemont was working on one of his many new inventions when he heard a loud noise coming from his girlfriends home office, “everything alright Misty?” He called sympathetically. “No! I don’t know what the hell is wrong with this damn computer!” The redhead Kanto elite four member exclaimed. “Can you please come upstairs and help me?” She asked after a few moments, “be right there!” Clemont responded and quickly tidied up his “small” mess. He gingerly walked into her office to find her sitting on her chair facing him, arms crossed, and her foot tapping against the hard wood floor.

Before he had a chance to speak, “I don’t know what’s going on with this thing, you’re the computer guy!” Misty turned back to face her desk, “well, yeah, but I’m your computer guy!” The blonde inventor responded in a moment of boldness, “Clemont, please, not right now.” Misty grit her teeth to stifle a laugh. “You’re right, I’m sorry Misty, let me see how I can help.” He put his hand on her shoulder and offered a small smile, Misty sighed and nodded as she let her boyfriend sit down next to her. “Ok, so, I’m going to ask you some questions, alright?” He said as he settled into the chair next to his girlfriend. She sighed but nodded. “Alright then! When did you start having issues?” He asked. “Well, the actual writing of my report is done, I finished it this afternoon, and before you ask, yes, I made sure I saved it, multiple times.” She took a sip of water and continued, “But after coming back from my workout, I went back into the file folder and there were no documents in there!” She grabbed her water bottle and slumped back into her chair.

“Hmm, that is odd, did you try restarting the computer?” She nodded, “no change.” She replied. “Would you mind if we traded seats real quick so I can run some tests?” Clemont asked, “sure thing, I’m actually going to go refill my water bottle, be right back.” Misty got up and walked out of the office. Clemont set to work immediately, first, he opened a program that would search all the file systems to see if maybe it had gotten saved to a different location, no luck. Misty walked back in not much later after that, and took the empty chair next to him. She watched her boyfriend type in command after command into the system, but nothing was working. Eventually, Clemont sat back in her chair and just scratched his chin.

Just then, there was a buzz on his phone, a message bubble that read: “remember to unhide the files!!!” Clemont started laughing out loud, “What’s so funny, Clemont?” Misty growled. “I’m sorry Misty! I forgot to tell you that I had to run some maintenance on the server, and I also forgot to mention that it had to hide confidential files, your reports to the league being one of them!” as he turned to remote login to his server, he felt her arms slink around his shoulders and her lips against his cheek. His face turned bright red and he started sputtering, Misty giggled and helped him stand up for a hug, “Clemont, I’m sorry for yelling at you, and I know you probably had a good reason for doing that thing with your server,” Clemont wrapped his arms around her waist, and relaxed with a content sigh. “But, next time, could you please give me a little heads up?” She asked and gently grabbed his butt, he was surprised by her action, but knew she was teasing him. “I promise I’ll let you know!” He decided to make another bold move and with an even gentler hand, grabbed her butt. “Oh Clemont!” She squealed. And they both started laughing. “All right, mister, I’ve got to send out my report, but I’m free after that!” Misty moved a strand of her boyfriend’s blonde hair away from his eyes, and he smiled back at her and kissed her lips, Misty giggled into the kiss and cupped his cheeks with her hands, Clemont’s own hands were still around her waist, the two made out for at least another minute, and then finally broke apart for air, “I’ll go get started on dinner, Misty, and you’ll have a glass of wine ready for you!” He said as he gave her one last kiss on her lips. ‘Arceus, he really knows how to spoil a girl!’ Misty thought to herself. She sat back down, and low and behold, “Clemont! The server?” She heard him laugh, “coming dear! Let me grab my laptop!”

"never met-ships: Belleshipping (Dawn x Drew), RivalCrushshipping (Gary x Serena), Mesafanshipping (Clemont x Misty)

Um, okay, in order...

Belleshipping: Well, it’s not a ship I’ve ever given much thought to before? Part of the reason for that is because I OTP Drew with May so I don’t care to ship him with anyone else (as well as I have my hands full with Dawn ship preferences that easily stagger over any superficial interest for this NMS). I suppose they’d be interesting? Though I see a looooot of nitpicking going on between them. Like, Dawn can get downright furious when someone treats her like she isn’t really worth their time. I could easily see her kicking Drew in the balls or something after their first meeting. Lol.

RivalCrushshipping: Never would have thought of this one. Truthfully though, as much as Gary has matured as the seasons wore on, I could see Serena falling for him?? I mean, in a world where her feelings for Ash had faded at some point after they’d met at the summer camp in Kanto. However, I have to say, if it had been Gary who found Serena when she got lost that day, and if Gary had been the same douche-nugget that he was at the start of OS canon... Yeah, no, Serena probably would have been abandoned and pecked apart by local bird types. Either that or she would have lost it at a prideful, childish Gary who would have spent the whole time taking her to camp bragging about how she wouldn’t have survived without his help.

Mesafanshipping: Okay, so... I see a lot of similarities in Clemont and Serena’s personalities (which is part of the reason I can see GeekChic as a realistic future for them). Like, both characters have those one or two skills they excel at and they’re rightfully confident (read: not boastful) about those skills, while in a lot of other ways they lack the self-confidence to wholeheartedly pursue their interests and goals, which was why they were written around a different version of Ash during the XY saga. Anyway, what I’m getting at is that, due to those similarities I see - and being someone who ships Champselyseeshipping on the side - I could also see Mesafanshipping as a thing. Maybe platonic, maybe one-sided somethin’ somethin’... but I see Misty’s unique form of forceful cheering and support helping to grow Clemont’s confidence (as well as I see her reacting much the same as Serena and Bonnie when each of his inventions explodes). No, it wouldn’t be perfect, but there’s always been something about Misty’s temper and tone that pushes characters to make progressive decisions. There’s a reason Ash grew so much during the OS, there’s a reason May was so excited to finally meet her, there’s a reason that Max felt an intense connection to her as well.

Probably Misty. Also definitely Misty if they were in Kalos since she’s always wanted to go there.

I’m going to go with Misty again. She seems a little more like the type to do that.

Clemont and probably some cheesy sci-fi movie that’s so bad it’s good.

I've been really getting into mesafanshipping (Clemont x Misty) recently, I don't know why. But it also sucks because there's no fanart of them, maybe 3 fanfics at the most, I doubt most people know the ship even exists, I'd be willing to bet money on that actually. If anyone can make some head cannons, I'd greatly appreciate it! ALSO, maybe not this month, but I will be saving up for sure, hit me up if you are an artist and are comfortable with drawing this particular pairing, I WILL NOT EVER ask for free art, that shit takes time and resources, like I said, I can't pay anyone this month, so I'm not going to ask, but, definitely next month!

Pokemon what’s a ship you like that most people don’t? what’s a ship you hate that most people like? what is the most underrated ship, in your opinion?

Hello anon!!! I apologize for taking so long to get to your question!!!

A ship I like that most people don’t?- Mostly never met ships, like lumiemetalburgshipping (Clemont x May), Romanticshipping (Drew x Serena). I’m not saying that there aren’t people out there that ship these pairings, but there probably aren’t very many.

A ship I hate that most people like?- I used to HATE any and every pairing to do with Ash and Misty other than Pokeshipping. But, I’ve learned to appreciate some of them like advanceshipping, mesafanshipping (Clemont x Misty, another never met ship), and to some degree, amourshipping

The most underrated ship, in my opinion?- Mesafanshipping. Yes, I know it’s a “never met ship”, but I love both characters, and I LOVE the tough girl/geek guy concept. I’d personally like to see a story where Clemont asks Misty for help in getting in shape so he can impress Serena, but ends up falling for Misty and she falls for him in the process!!

I still LOVE pokeshipping :D

do you have any crack!ships?

Yes, I do! I have a lot of them, but my “favorite” is Mesafanshipping (Clemont x Misty). I ship Clemont with A LOT of different characters, and if I wasn’t so big into pokeshipping, I’d probably ship those two a lot harder. Yeah, I know it’s a “never met ship” as well, but I think they’d look adorable together!
