he must be feeling SOOOOO guilty right now, like he already had a guilt complex out the wazoo but now his friend is literally dead and as much as you could say its not his fault it kind of is. his actions directly led to Cantrip's death, he ignored her cry for help, he trusted his brother, and now she's dead and there's nothing he can do about it.

and he's going to have to TELL EVERYONE too. there's no way hes going to leave everyone in the dark, he's going to have to tell Dakota what happened, tell Xavier and Alan, tell Ruby. and they're all going to hate him for it and they would be right for it.

William is never coming back from this, he can't undo what he did. he can't be a hero anymore, all he can do is try to save Ashe (yet another thing he blames himself for) and try to live with the guilt.

and back to Dakota, Dakota is never going to forgive him. their friendship is over, or at least permanently changed. and its HEARTBREAKING because we know how much William looks up to Dakota, he's the ideal hero, someone who tries to save everyone no matter what. William didn't save anyone today, he made everything worse, he killed someone, someone with their whole future in front of him. he didn't even get a brother out of it. he lost one of his best friends. he lost everything. everyone except for Vyncent.

I could also talk about Vyncent these last few episodes but while I have many thoughts I have no idea how to verbalize them so it would be a mess.

Ive been brewing a theory that people are obsessed with demanding media show them morally good things because we're replacing religion with tv shows and pop culture in general in our everyday life. From one story, one form of escapism that dictates our life and community seeking to another, humanity has always been the same. Btw have you come across any connections/symbolism for the half cloth/wing half fur/boa cape that Kaeya and the Hilichurl Rogues wear? Looking at it a bit more right now I think it's actually hair?
