As you may know by now, dragonflies always find me one way or another. I think it’s a sign from grandma 👵🏽 • The craziest thing is that this morning right before I woke up I had a dream with a dragonfly I found on the floor. I picked it up by the wings and it held on to my fingers. I felt the little legs tickling the tip of my fingers. • I brought it to a sink with water so I could hydrate. I saw it drinking water and suddenly it’s wings and tail changed to shimmering rainbow colors. • I woke up thinking that grandma is watching over me and that today is going to be a good day. • Right before I got to work to my surprise I found this beautiful dragonfly on the floor the same way I saw it in my dreams this morning. My heart stopped. • Many times I tried to push the spiritual signs away, but they keep on showing when I need it the most. Dragonflies are my spirit animals. Avery’s art residency update. Avery is a baby mourning dove I’m rehabbing and preparing to release soon. This is experience transformed me in profound ways. I’ve rehabbed and released birds In the past but during a pandemic and with my current health challenges this bird has been a messenger of hope, in some ways I believe my great aunt Alice sent it. Some weird coincidences, that Astro physics string theory stuff. Who knows? Mourning doves symbols messengers of the diseased. Tomorrow will be my Titi Alice’s birthday. Avery is about to be free. Happy Samhain everyone!!! Remember that the veil between the worlds are extremely thin right now, remember to keep yourself protected with love and light and also lay out a plate for your ancestors either today or on day of the dead, dia de los muertos, to let them know that you care still. During my show last night, I had three ghosts stop by that needed transport to heaven after they were in a car accident and died and I was able to quickly bring their souls to heaven. But to be honest, it did spook me when they just showed up like that because the man's energy was a black wispy smoke in my room that really freaked me out LOL! Took me all night again to get my show uploaded and published, remember that Mercury Retrograde is still in effect until Wednesday when it goes direct again and hopefully will take with it all of those technical difficulties! I want to do include some pictures of the Baby Guaguas (pronounced wawas) and colada morada.. made and offered for sale by my neighbor.. this is an Ecuadorian tradition that represents the body and the blood of all the babies that were lost too soon in life and when you drink and eat this you do this in remembrance of all the lost babies whether they are babies that died of sudden infant death syndrome, aborted babies or miscarried babies, etc. It's a very sweet, yet macabre practice and tradition but I consider it to be very Halloweeny, what do you think? Here’s an interesting story for you. A few years back after Jack Hardy passed I was graciously gifted the bottle on the right by his ex-wife Angela Page. You see, Jack Hardy hosted the weekly Songwriter’s Exchange at his apartment in Manhattan which incubated and nurtured so many remarkable songwriters. It continues to this day in his honor. Part of the tradition is to meet first for spaghetti and wine. I think the spaghetti is the easiest way to feed a large group of people and the wine is fuel to give songwriters the chutzpah to share a brand new song with a room full of other songwriters. After Jack passed, Angela made sure that the bottles were given to songwriters that attended the exchange. I was very humbled to be gifted this one in particular. It lived in our studio before the flood happened and after the flood, I moved it up to safety into our dining room. Last week our friends from Switzerland came and Jean-Luc who is a wine connoisseur gifted us with a bottle of wine that he asked us to please share next Valentine’s Day. I decided to put it into the cabinet for safekeeping when he called to my attention that we already had a bottle of the same wine!
