Five years ago, a dear friend unexpectedly passed away. Shortly after he died, I had an intense experience in that liminal space between wake and sleep. I saw him standing next to my bed trying to hand me something that was white and black and amorphous, but I couldn't quite make out what it was. All I knew was that he was upset and very concerned that I take whatever it was.

A few days later we learned that he had left two of his animals to someone but there was a third who was unaccounted for. I got in my car and drove across town to find his cat, Wednesday.

A couple days ago, Wednesday started acting weird and I started to feel a heavy presence and see dark shadows move in my peripheral vision. I asked aloud if my friend Chris was there and Wednesday meowed loudly while staring at what appeared to be an empty chair.

I don't feel him super often namely because I'm still upset that he's gone so I know I purposely block him out. But every once in awhile he breaks through my barrier and I figure I need to pay attention. There must be a reason. Then I checked my calendar. We're coming up on the anniversary of his death. He just wants to say hello, to know that he's remembered and loved.

It's important to pay attention to dates that spirits are attracted to. They can sneak up on you, but spirits always remember.

My mom manifested a half-dollar for me today. Don't be afraid to ask your loved ones who have crossed over for signs. It can be anything from an animal crossing your path with a specific meaning for you, a random song playing that triggers a memory, a specific smell, coins appearing in odd places, etc. "How about you manifest the next winning lottery ticket for me?" I asked my mom once. "There's rules we gotta play by but I'll do the best I can with what I got" she said. "Besides, dont you know how hard it is on my end to make these little signs appear on your end?" Well, she ain't say it exactly like that, more like "Boy, this manifesting shit ain't that easy. It's a lotta work man!" When your loved ones come to visit you, you may smell them for a second, feel like you’re not alone in the room, get a song stuck in your head, or just suddenly think of them out of the blue. You might feel a calm and loving feeling wash over you, or you might see a light flicker. You might see repeated numbers on a clock or think about something you need to do that you forgot about (that’s their way of guiding you). I'm very grateful for the existence of Pinterest and @ihearts143quotes right now. I had a pretty rough night last night, and this morning was no better. A lot of my beliefs and intentions for my future have been brought into question on some level, and it disrupted my energy in a way that I couldn't really handle. If it was from anyone else, I'm sure I wouldn't have been as bothered, but this came from the woman I'm in love with and want a future with more than anything in this world. I see great things for both her and myself, but I didn't see until last night that she's operating on an entirely different mindset than the one I've spent the last year trying to build for myself. I haven't stopped loving her at all, but the way that conversation went, I was feeling lost for a brief moment. I spent time by myself, though, just breathing and getting my energy back to a somewhat familiar place. One of the ways I worked on getting my energy back to where it had been was thing through Pinterest and pinning the best feeling affirmations I could find. Then, as I was doing that, still with the question of "Should I still be thinking about doing this?" going in my head, this specific quote pops up. I smiled, pinned it, and am now posting it for all of you, specifically with the goal of thanking the creator of the image for putting it out there, allowing me the clarity I needed on this subject. I'll talk more about what I want to do later in the day, but my point is I've got signs coming at me left and right that this is what I should be doing, and this quote is only one of them. I'm extremely grateful I saw this image this morning.
