Thinking back to waaay back in the beginning when we were first starting witht he idea of the Rmanant and how it would actively be hunting the Conductor and how he's hide in cars at night when Ingo is asleep and how we originally had it where like... one of the things that get Akari and Irida to start trying to befriend the Conductor is cuz they see him passed the fuck out form all the stress and running he's been doing and notic ehow he's really out of it and possibly even injured and with the recent update the anons did I can't help but think of how the appearance of corrupted Chandelure had caused such a visceral and violent reaction in the Conductor and how it's entirely possible he may have been injured during that whole mess of chaos!!
Yes!! The Remnant is free to roam the mind station’s tracks when Ingo’s asleep (REMnant is free during REM cycles haha), and memory train cars are safe places to hide during this time… as long as Remnant doesn’t know you’re there.
When Akari and Irida jump into one of the memory traincars (The Conductor* would have warned them beforehand to do so when they notice the station starts going to sleep), they realize:
1) it’s full of joltiks. This is the traincar that holds Ingo’s memories of Emmet’s joltik hoard.
2) The Conductor is in the pile of joltiks, resting but clearly hurt and exhausted (I believe he actually got hurt when saving Akari from the Remnant, having found her in one of the track depots right as the station was going to sleep. Verrry dangerous place to be when the Remnant is free!)
Akari and Irida quickly help tend to him as best they can, convincing him they are here in Ingo’s mind station to help, and that includes helping him as well. The Conductor finally starts believing them at this point, and becomes an ally.
And as for Ingo’s mental projection of Chandelure being corrupted; I’m sure The Conductor feels awful about it. Especially because Ingo frequently tries to remember Chandelure, so when his mind station tries to retrieve the corrupted memory traincar, he has to block it, and all Ingo can remember is purple flames. Many of Ingo’s other Pokémon are probably corrupted just as well - he can’t remember any of them.
*for new readers, The Conductor is MG Emmet (Mind Guardian Emmet, a projection of Ingo’s memories of Emmet who protects his mind), namely the first version of him that Akari and Irida meet who seems incomplete, due to all of Ingo’s missing memories of him. He becomes more like Emmet as Akari and Irida help unlock more of Ingo’s memories of him.

You paid Al pedia to document “[she] lives in filth when I saw her car”
…when he’s NEVER SEEN THE CAR EXCEPT FOR NOV 18TH WHEN HIM AND LILY SALIZAR CAME OVER TO FILL OUT SSI AND CBESS “PAPER WORK”
…probably trying to stick me into another institution like you did AMY, and get me heavily medicated by Timothy pelyco prescriptions
Also Timothy you told me the last shot of the first weekend ( number 4) was 3 months lasting
AND THEN ran blood work AND love ultra sound on me the mid of the second week when you moved me to the solo room.. AND YOU ALSO BARGED IN THE NIGHT BEFORE DISCHARGE TO TELL ME I WAS BEING DISCHARGED WHICH IS HIGHLY INAPPROPRIATE AS A DOCTOR AND OUT OF PROTOCOL
…then on discharge day you gave me a “prescription” referral for UZEDYA ( risperidol) to take on 11/13 THROUGH EXODUS ON THE EAST SODE OF TOWN… SOUNDS LIKE THE SAME EXODUS BC ON WASHINGTON IN CULVER THAT YOU HAD ME GO TO WHEN I DISCHARGED FROM ST FRANCIS … and had the audacity to tell me
“ I think you’ll like this place they have your angel numbers”
Rubbing it in my face and taunting me but calling me delusional when I confront you.
BITCH.
AND I RECIEVED UNJUST CARE THE FIRST TIME WHERE THE “DOCTOR” JESUS TOLD ME “YOU DID DIE IN YOUR CAR ACCIDENT “
AND THE SECOND TIME THE WOMAN LOTERALLY TRIED TO BELITTLE ME AND 5150 me AGAIN THAT HOWARD HAD TO STEP IN AND CALM HER DOWN BECAUSE I WAS PROVING FACTS ABOUT THEIR FACILITY BEING BULLSHIT.
YPU TOOK ME TO CEDARS TO GET “LAB WORK” done but told them I was a drug addict so they did the absolute MOST in refilling my 1 week prescription and after that the pills I got from CVS OFF PICO AND SAN VICIENTE WERE CHANGED TO “GENERIC” is what you told me…MY SECOND FULL REFILL.
AND TWO DAYS INTO TAKING THE PILLS YPU DOUBLE DOSED ME WHICH I TOLD HOWARD AND HAVE PROOF ON. AND THEY MADE ME EXTRA LOOPY AND WONKY AND YOU SAID YOU HAD TO GIVE ME MY PILLS EVERYDAY TO MAKE AURE I WAS TAKING THEM WHICH I ALSO HAVE WITNESS TO AND WHY YOU PLANNED TO SEND ME TO CLARITY BECAUSE YOU KNEW ( AND RIVER) THEY HAD TO WATCH ME TAKE THE PILLS JUST LIKE THE PAYCHWARD AND IF I MADE COMMENTARY ABOUT THEPILLS NOT BEING RIGHT THEY DIDNT CHANGE ANYTHING
COMPLETELY OVER LOOKED ME HAVING ALL FORMS OF SIDE EFFECTS FROM DEPOKOTE.
FROM WEIGHT GAIN,
HAIR LOSS
PERIOD LOSS
LACTATION / PREGANANCY SYMPTOMS
Lack of sleep ( so you add 100 mg of Benadryl) to the mix for shits and giggles)
And then had Baylee give me unnecessary amounts of trazadone at clarity cause they wouldn’t let us have Benadryl due to “ getting addicted”

The Ultimate guide to the Best Electric Cars in the UK
There is increasing pressure on UK drivers to switch from petrol and diesel engines and move to all-electric vehicles. But what are the best electric vehicles currently on the market in the UK?
As more new EVs are introduced and used EV models become more widely available, the number of electric vehicles on UK roads keeps increasing. As more manufacturers adopt the technology in front of stricter pollution rules and future restrictions on the sale of new petrol and diesel cars in the UK and other nations, the selection of new electric cars available to consumers will continue to grow.
At the same time, the UK's infrastructure for charging electric vehicles is expanding, making them more accessible to a broader range of individuals. Switching to a BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) and taking advantage of its lower operating expenses with minimum inconvenience is now easier than ever, thanks to the increased availability of fast and speedy chargers at homes, workplaces, and public locations. Modern plug-in hybrid vehicles provide an excellent middle-of-the-road choice even if you can't get by with a pure EV.
In addition to the environmental advantages, driving a pure-electric vehicle will exempt you from paying road tax and the congestion charge in Northampton. Even with the rising cost of electricity, running costs for electric cars are up to 60% less than those for petrol and diesel vehicles.
However, just like every other car, electric vehicles also need repairing. That’s when you need to ensure that you employ only the best electric car repair services in Northampton for your automobile.
Before we get to the repairing, let us help you find the top electric vehicles to choose from in the UK
The Top Electric Vehicles Available in the UK
Renault Ariya
The Nissan Ariya should be at the top of your list if you're looking for a competent, all-electric family SUV. More families switch to battery-powered motoring thanks to Ariya's clear abilities.
The Ariya feels like a tremendous advancement for Nissan in terms of quality, engineering, and onboard technology. It is comfortable and enjoyable to drive. Its coupe-SUV form is attractive, and the interior is full of thoughtful details that will make life easier.
Starting with a 63kWh (usable) battery option and a 215bhp electric motor, the Ariya series is said to have a 250-mile range. With a choice of a 239bhp single-motor or a 302 bhp dual-motor e-4ORCE powertrain, a more extensive 87kWh battery option is also offered. The latter provides a rapid 5.7-second 0-62mph time.
MG 4
At a time when costs are at the forefront of everyone's minds, MG is achieving fantastic results at the cheaper end of the electric car industry. The MG 4 is an electric family hatchback that is more affordable than many supermini-sized competitors. It's enjoyable to drive, introduces a sleek new brand aesthetic direction, and has amazing rapid charging capabilities.
The vehicle comes with two powertrain configurations, each of which drives the rear wheels with an electric motor at the rear. A 51kWh battery variant opens the range with 168 horsepower and can be upgraded to a 64kWh battery and 200 horsepower. The SE Long Range model's maximum range of 281 miles and 150kW rapid charging capacity are also outstanding.
The MG 4 has a large interior with good rear legroom and a 363-litre boot, although it may not have the same high-class feel and cutting-edge technology as other competitors. It is useful and practical. Moreover, the MG 4's reputation for value for money makes it a fiercely competitive electric vehicle that's difficult to dismiss.
Renault Megane E-Tech
For its most recent fifth generation, Renault's popular Megane family hatchback has been transformed into an electric-only model, although one with apparent crossover style elements. Its high-quality interior, spacious trunk, and user-friendly infotainment system impress and share technologies with the Nissan Ariya.
The car, which goes by the name Megane E-Tech, is only offered in all-electric form. Thanks to the sophisticated CMF-EV platform that it shares with the Ariya, it can shed some weight in comparison to rivals like the Volkswagen ID.3. The Renault weighs 1,636 kg, which is about 200 kg less than the VW. The 217bhp Megane achieves a 7.5s 0-62mph sprint and a 99mph top speed thanks to its small (for an EV) weight. The 60kWh battery and 280-mile WLTP range are identical for all versions.
The new electric Megane E-Tech walks a fine line between a hatchback and an SUV, unlike its predecessors who were solidly in the family hatchback camp. With a 4,200mm length, the vehicle is manageable and relatively small by today's EV standards. Still, it has a much larger interior than conventional family hatchbacks like the Ford Focus and Volkswagen Golf. The 440-litre boot further solidifies the Megane's reputation as a family vehicle.
Ioniq Hyundai 5
The Ioniq 5 is squarely targeting high-end competitors like the Tesla Model Y, Volkswagen ID.4, and Audi Q4 e-tron. Without a doubt, the Ioniq 5 is amazing in every way. It features cutting-edge electric vehicle technology and capable performance and charging capabilities typically only found in high-end vehicles like the Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tron GT.
The entry-level 58kWh battery is combined with a single 168bhp motor driving the rear wheels, providing a 0-62 mph time of 8.5 seconds and a range of 238 miles. There are two battery variants available with three power outputs. The best range is provided by the 214bhp mid-spec model, whose 73kWh battery allows for a total travel distance of 280 miles on a single charge. The top-spec model has the same 73kWh battery but has an additional front-mounted engine that produces 301 horsepower and 605 pound-feet of torque. Although performance has significantly increased, with a 0-62 time of 5.2 seconds, the overall range has decreased slightly to 267 miles.
The Ioniq 5 has a starting price of roughly £43,000 and has a fantastic entertainment system and plenty of standard equipment. The amount of accessible room must be seen to be believed. Additionally, it's comfortable, so you'll look forward to the opportunity to log some miles.
Kia EV6 Kia EV617
The Hyundai Ioniq 5's sister car, the Kia EV6, is a terrific option if you adore that model's technology but could be more taken with its retro-futuristic styling. The EV6 is slightly lower, more athletic than the other vehicle, and arguably more traditional. It handles accordingly, with a little stiffer suspension providing quicker reactions.
It is available with either RWD or AWD and a GT variant with high performance, with the base model currently being our pick. Its 77.4kWh battery not only provides the best range estimate of up to 328 miles, but we also thought its 7.3-second 0-62mph performance was adequate.
The next step is unquestionably quicker with all-wheel drive, shaving two seconds off its benchmark sprint time. However, it also has a marginally reduced range, is significantly more expensive, and isn't fully pleasant to drive swiftly.
Every model has remarkable ultra-rapid charging at up to 250kW, so if you can locate a fast enough public charger, you can top off from 10% to 80% in less than 20 minutes. The dashboard is dominated by two 12.3-inch curved screens for the gauges and infotainment system, making the cabin no less appealing.
To Sum Up
In conclusion, electric cars are becoming increasingly popular due to their environmental friendliness, cost savings, and technological advancements. They offer a clean and sustainable alternative to traditional gasoline cars, with zero emissions and lower maintenance costs.
As more electric car models are introduced to the market, consumers have a wide range of options based on their needs and preferences. When choosing an electric car, it is important to consider factors such as driving habits, budget, and features. Electric cars are a promising solution to combat climate change and promote a more sustainable future.

A Brief Guide On E-C4 Citroen Performance Upgrades
Citroen Performance Upgrades Evaluation Of E-C4
People are using electric vehicles on a vast scale all around Europe. Citroen e-cars are in high demand due to different types of Citroen accessories which make the Citroen E-C4 extraordinarily different.
Tumblr media
In this blog, we discuss some of the salient features of this fantastic car, along with the Citroen performance upgrades. Though there are a few setbacks in the model's overall performance, it is far better than other competitors.
The use of double and single hydraulic brakes on the front and rear suspensions, respectively, delivers an exquisite sensation in addition to the interior insulation. Citroen's vehicles are distinguished by Advanced Comfort Suspension (Progressive Hydraulic Cushions).
The e-C4 is no exception since driving around town is extremely comfortable. The suspension technology easily absorbs irregularities, speed bumps, and potholes. When it comes to driving comfort, it is by far the best in class.
Combined with its incredibly light steering wheel, the e-C4 is in a class of its own - even when compared to more expensive rivals. However, its softer driving setting limits its performance in more difficult conditions. The e-C4 exhibits some body roll at high speeds and lacks driver feel.
One feels separated from the front axle, especially in Sport driving mode, which attempts to improve driving dynamics. However, the same could be said for the vast majority of its competitors; if you want an enhanced experience, you'll need to spend more for the BMW iX3.
Its front-mounted motor and 50 kWh battery pack provide 100 kW and 300 Nm of torque. The top speed is likewise restricted to 93 mph. In comparison, the Hyundai Kona Electric (64 kWh variant) produces 150 kW, has 395 Nm of torque, and accelerates to 60 mph in 6.91 seconds.
On the plus side, Citroen's lower power output results in no front-wheel spin or torque steer, as seen on Hyundai Group vehicles - the vehicles are front-wheel drive (FWD). We predicted that straight-line speed and driving dynamics would be low on Citroen's priority list.
Battery Performance Of E-C4
To recharge the vehicle's 50 kWh battery pack much faster, a CCS port supports up to 100 kW of input. It allows the e-C4 to get up to 80% from empty in around 30 minutes. A more commonly found 50 kW charge point will take 45 minutes instead.
At a wall box or slower public charger with a 7 kW output, it'll take 7hrs 30mins to go from 0-100% using the Type 2 port. Should you have access to a three-phase 11 kW charger, the optional £300 11 kW onboard charger will slightly reduce the charge time.
Unsurprisingly, a three-pin wall socket will take over 24 hours to recharge to full. The Citroen C4 was a small gasoline or diesel automobile. The first-generation vehicle debuted in 2004 and was revised seven years later with a new design and engine options.
It changed in 2020 when the PSA Group – now Stellantis – unveiled its third-generation model. The C4 is a compact SUV and is available as an all-electric vehicle called the e-C4 (or -C4). The e-C4 has the same 100 kW (136 hp) front-mounted motor and 50 kWh battery pack.
Compared to similarly priced competitors such as the MG ZS EV, Hyundai Kona Electric, Vauxhall Mokka-e, and Peugeot e-2008, the Citroen delivers a longer driving range on a single charge. You should drive in B-mode to get the most out of your vehicle.
It must be activated each time you enter the cabin by pressing a button on the center console. The level of deceleration while lifting off the accelerator pedal is relatively modest in the stated mode; one cannot drive with only one pedal.
It's disappointing that Citroen still needs to optimize B-mode or provide any form of regenerative braking mode customization. We can witness quick Citroen performance upgrades to rectify this problem.
Although these features are satisfactory, if you want to add to your car's performance, you can add Citroen performance car parts to boost the value of your vehicle. Buy high-performance car parts from MTC Motorsport.

“Put You On” by Girl Talk, Wiz Khalifa, Big K.R.I.T., and Smoke DZA
DV:
If we’re really heading into some kind of real indie sleaze revival, it would only make sense for Girl Talk to resurface too. He wasn’t from either coast, and because of that it feels like it’s easy to overlook how central he was to the last go-round. Greg Gillis embodied that American Apparel-and-glitter-and-sweat, peak hipster aesthetic as well as anyone; his mashups were arguably second only to Glee in solidifying classic rock as part of the millennial canon; his live shows as important as early Arcade Fire in teaching the indie kids to dance again. And true, he’s been producing occasional tracks since 2010, but this is meant as the first single from his first full album in over a decade. Which means I’ve got slightly higher expectations for where Gillis could be aiming, and which means “Put You On” lets me down as soon as it transitions off Wiz Khalifa’s opening verse. To be clear, Wiz and K.R.I.T. and Smoke DZA do fine work here, keeping the energy high and the flow moving. But on a posse track, with three disparate rappers in the room together and trading off, there’s simply no reason to have the beat stick to the same handful of samples and snares from the intro through to the outro. Especially when you’re fucking Girl Talk, one of the few mashup artists to actually make the form worthwhile! A multi-rapper collab should be the perfect opportunity to bring some of the sense of surprise and glee from the mashup era into an original beat. And yet it's honestly wild how “Put You On” carries none of the anarchic charge of Girl Talk’s best work, where incongruous pieces melded together in ways that you never expected but that instantly felt natural. This is boilerplate, it’s generic, it offers nothing new or surprising from anyone involved (except I guess Smoke DZA, who’s new to me.) Maybe “Put You On” is a red herring; maybe Gillis has more interesting productions in store for the album itself. Or maybe this comeback, in perhaps the ultimate tribute to indie sleaze, is just three dead rats in a trenchcoat.
MG:
It’s three rats in a trenchcoat, but they’re not dead. To sound perhaps a bit too naive and nostalgic here, I think a big part of what made Girl Talk so ubiquitous for a year, as well as novel and gestalt shifting, was that it formalized a mode of listening that everyone -- intrinsically -- uses. When you pop off your riding shades, kill the engine, and walk from the sanctity of your car’s curated playlist into the flat absurdity of some department store’s satellite radio station you’re mashing up in real time. You’re always mashing up in real time! Your head has a song stuck in 3rd gear but your laptop is blaring motown: mash up. You hear Dion singing about heroin addiction on “Your Own Backyard” and your brain inserts it in the heroin-spoon pantheon alongside The Rolling Stones’ “Dead Flowers” and Spiritualized’s “I Think I’m In Love”: mash up. Girl Talk simply took a very specific form of mashup (the beat match) and wrote it to scale in a font the size of turn of the century pop culture. Night Ripper (obviously) had a huge effect on DV and me, but part of that effect was downloading it and hearing it blaring from dorm rooms whose inhabitants had more, better RAM while my progress bar seemed to shuffle back and forth in an eternity of non-completion. We were far from the only two swept up in the magic of hearing Notorious B.I.G.’s flow synced with Elton John’s piano.
So, okay, many years later and we now have rappers who voluntarily drop their verses over emo, folk, hyperpop, and any and every outré beat; plus, indie artists like Bon Iver, Beach House, and Rostam who blend their specific, honed sonic worlds with pop stars like Carly Rae Jepsen and generational artists like Kanye. Everything feels much freer and unconstrained and able to be as much or as little as any genre out there as it wants. No one says they like a little bit of everything but rap and country anymore. Orville Peck works with Diplo.
Night Ripper was an intense moment, maybe even the singular sound of indie sleaze, and there was never any way of repeating that, despite Girl Talk’s considered attempts. Unlike Feed the Animals and All Day, “Put You On” sounds like giving up, scaling back. It’s Glossier firing 30% of its staff because it forgot it was a beauty brand and thought that a period of intense popularity meant it was an app. Maybe it will turn out that Girl Talk is as accomplished a producer as he is a technical wizard, but I don’t feel optimistic about the odds. His love of 70s slickness and all the colors of a sunset make him a good match for Wiz Khalifa’s laidback stonerism, but, in a way that again aligns this single with all the rest of Gillis’s comedown, “Put You On” does too much by trying to shove Big K.R.I.T. and Smoke DZA into the mix.

Following your explanation, the boys sat in silence as each of them took in the various blueprints and notes spread out before them. Processing it took them some time, and Eli took the opportunity to soothe his dry throat with the remnants of his drink.
“It’s complicated, to say the least.” Namjoon’s voice was distant as his mind wasn’t all that focused on the words coming out of his mouth.
Yoongi only snorted in response, but it was more of a reaction that he had given for the duration of the discussion so Eli considered it a win all in all and looked to the other members for their reactions. Seeing nothing else of note in their eyes, he reached for the papers to clean them up, planning on returning to his room and cleaning up, before going out for supplies. Sure, Hoseok or Jimin could probably hook them up with all that they needed but call it a con’s intuition for wanting to check out the equipment themselves.
Grabbing hold of the documents, he rifled through them and aligned the corners as he always did before getting up.
“I’m headed out for some of the basic equipment so yall can break it in before D-day.” Not waiting for an answer, he headed back to his designated room, barely sparing a minute to toss the papers onto his desk before heading to the bathroom.
With the door locked and the hot water soothing your muscles, you had some time to yourself to think. Your relationship with the rest of the boys could be simmered down to two words: grudging acceptance. Neither side was about drop their pride and invite the other out to dinner, but at least Jungkook wasn’t lunging for your throat every time he laid eyes on you.
The heist was risky, and would take some real trust and teamwork, and “grudging acceptance” wasn’t exactly the best relationship to have with the people you would be trusting with your life while completing the mission. You still were damn sure that they wouldn’t hesitate to leave you behind if they needed to; their relationship was one where they looked out for each other and solid walls were drawn against those who weren’t inside when those walls were built.
In a way, you understood. Though you didn’t have the exact details, it was obvious they went through some trauma together, one that bound them together by something greater than blood ties or brotherhood. You were the same way; the only difference was that you were alone when you built those walls and they had each other.
Shutting off the water, you stepped out into the foggy bathroom, the heat blushing your skin red. The mirror was fogged up, and the metaphor almost made you snort. It seemed that even the world was trying to tell you that within all the personas and costumes, you had lost sight of your true self, even as it stood within reach, blurry but there.
The skin on your chest was red and irritated, most likely from the bandages you used to keep your secret. You needed to spend a night away from them, if only so you could let your skin breathe.
Getting your costume back on, you waltzed out of your bedroom towards the living room, most of the boys had disappeared, but Jimin was still where you had left him, albeit in clothes more appropriate for your shopping trip. In a way, you expected Hoseok to be there as well, but Jimin oversaw their equipment.
“Do you know the weights and heights of everyone,” Eli casually asked as he thumbed through a small journal filled with more of his chicken scratch trying to find the specific page he wanted.
“Don’t tell me you’re interested in us,” Jimin scoffed obviously getting the wrong impression from Eli’s words.
“Interested in keeping you all alive yeah.” Eli turned his back on the still lounging Jimin, who had somehow managed to get even more attractive as he leaned back invitingly on their soft couch. “Don’t fool yourself shorty. I doubt you have anything that would make me want to chase after you.”
Making his way to the foyer of the apartment, he didn’t even look back to see if Jimin was following him before he slipped out and towards the elevators.
The ride down was silent once Jimin joined him, each absorbed in their own devices to pass the time. Upon exiting the tall high-rise building, Eli was none too surprised at the sleek black SUV waiting for them. They needed to buy a lot of equipment and they would need a large car to hold it all.
While in the car, both still maintained the strict silence that they had started in the elevator. Eli’s eyes were focused on the passing scenery, letting out tiny grins at the snapshots of daily life he saw beyond the tinted glass windows. They were all so oblivious to the harsh realities of the world and even if they did know, their brains would probably cut out the information deeming it too harmful to remember.
PJM
He seemed utterly uninterested in anything other than the mission. It really was odd to see how quickly his attitude adjusted when he explained the plan to us this morning. Not once did he let out his signature smile, all teeth and stupidity. It was long, complicated, and required a lot more trust than I felt anyone was willing to give him at this point in whatever relationship was forming between us.
Going out with him was most definitely not my choice, but Namjoon had insisted on it because apparently it was obvious that I was the one with the most prejudices against our new add-on. We all knew it was a blatant lie, but Jungkook had no qualifications to go shopping therefore here I am.
The car is surprisingly silent, and looking over at Eli, he’s focused on the outside world. There was longing in a sense, something we all felt from time to time; we wonder and dream of our lives with intact families and normality.
The car stops in front of a hotel, conspicuous and in the center of town; it’s perfect. Getting down, it’s no surprise that we make an impression on the surrounding people. Jimin’s face is common on the news channels and everyone knows the people he associates with, so everyone gives us a wide berth as we enter the hotel.
Walking to the front desk, the person manning the fort gives us the biggest customer service smile that I have ever seen. Jimin merely nods back before handing over a medallion and asking for, “Room 113 please” with the most conversational tone.
“Forgive me sir, but our staff is still cleaning the room for you. Please feel free to wait in our lobby and I will call you when the room is prepared.” When you enter this line of work, you should always be prepared to deal with word games and subliminal messaging. We both understood what his words meant, there was already someone shopping so we could not go in.
Most places like this did not worry about anonymity between guests, hoping that it would work as sort of a motivation to not betray the location; if someone got captured then they could name everyone else that they saw. It was more commonly seen in stores that had not gotten a footing in the black world of crime. Yet, the truly powerful locations did not need to rely on such childish motivations as that.
Jimin and I made our way to the couches a couple feet away from the receptionist. The world continued to move on around us. Initially, some were focused on our identities, but as they each needed to be somewhere else, we were left alone in the middle of the lobby. The hotel itself seemed to be the playground of the higher class based on all the brand names glittering around me and the large entourages that revolve around a single person.
In a way, that life seemed bland to me. What fun was there to have everything handed to you, sure it was novel for a little while but then it would lose it’s charm. Inherently, people get bored which is why you see celebrities always doing.
It wasn’t long before the receptionist approached us from behind the desk and informed us that they were ready for us. He motions us to follow him and we do.
The receptionist returns to behind the desk and programs a reader card to let us into our requested room. He faces us again and hands that card over with that same sickeningly bright smile. “I hope everything is to your standards.” He knows, though I do not know why I ever doubted it for a second.
Jimin nods and I follow his example of silence as he leads me down a hallway and to our room. Unlocking it with the given card, he lets me inside before shutting and locking the door behind us both. The space is small and not a room at all; it was an elevator.
Surveillance was full force as someone welcomed us to the store and instructed us not to touch anything as the decent began on its own. By my estimate, the level that we stopped at was one below the basement. The doors opened before us and we walked into a well-lit room, almost as big as a proper ballroom. Certainly, not as high but just a big in width and length. The rich vibe continued down here as well with the red walls and gold trimming on the walls and on the cabinets filled to the brim with guns and other equipment.
At the far end of the room, a man in a fitted suit stood relaxed in his posture. Not single strand of hair or muscle moved out of place as we approached him. “Welcome. Please take a look around at your leisure and feel free to ask any questions. We are here to assist.”
Jimin jets off towards the far end of the room, firmly in the directions of some automatic handgun; they suited him. I had initially pegged him at a knife person, but then again he wanted efficiency more than any perceived bloodlust so I relented on my initial judgement. His steps were quick, barely holding on to the perception of calm, but he was like a child in a candy shop, no doubts about it.
Letting him satisfy his own curiosity, I turned to the tactical gear. I would worry about the boys later, getting their measurements from Jimin now would be impossible when he seems much more interested in the custom grips on an Italian classic.
Shopping for harnesses was ironically reminiscent to shopping for clothes; they were all on gold hangers and organized by size and prices. The boys (read: Big Hit) were paying for all this anyways so I’d take advantage of that; only I knew what was really needed for this.
Shifting through them all, I decided on one with multiple points of weight distribution that had multiple clip combinations so one could vary their support based on their preference or on the limits of rope. As I was looking, I felt a presence on my 6 or 7 o’clock; it was either Jimin or the attendant.
“Is this what you wanted the body measurements for?” Jimin.
“No,” I scoffed. “I needed that information to plant fake bodies when we all fail this and need to get the heck out of dodge.”
“The confidence you have in us is astounding.” He didn’t waste time is coming back for me with the same amount of sarcasm.
“I have as much confidence in you as I do in my own survival with the group of you.” Snatching the paper with the written measurements out of his hand, I didn’t bother to head his response as I pulled out different sizes of the same harness. They would cost a pretty penny, but you weren’t footing the bill.
“Take these to the table.” I was already searching for the ropes; something strong preferably suspension or paracord, but mountaineering might work.
“Do it yourself.”
“Like you know what we need for this. Just do what I ask and maybe my confidence that we’ll survive this increase by a tenth of a percent.”
“You’re difficult.”
“But I’m good and that’s what you really need right now isn’t it? Now go.”
Deciding on some dark colored SWAT rappelling rope in 200 feet lengths. It was double braided and would be more than enough to carry our weights at 9mm in diameter. However, ti was a hefty weight, but I’d leave that to the boys. Additionally, I picked up some paracord, just in the case of an emergency lashing or situation.
Next, some infrared googles. They were also a hefty price, but trusting the boys to already have their own, I waited until Jimin returned from his second trip from the far table to confirm. Given a OK, I think he had given up on arguing with me for the sake of it, I picked out some durable ones with a heat sensor attachment.
Last in terms of tacticals, would be body suits. These would go under our regular clothes, additional protection and heat without the bulk. Of course, some bullet proof clothes would be going on top, but still a good base is always necessary.
Now to the fun part, weapons.
Jimin had already beat me to it, having laid out some stuff that he wanted for himself or that he got at the request of the other boys. A computer chip, most likely for Yoongi, catches my eye. Having a computer for research and planning would be so much easier than having to piece together scraps of paper.
Grabbing a sleek laptop off the shelf, I added it to the ever-growing pile of supplies on the table under the raised eyebrow of Jimin. He reaches for it, but I smack his hand away and firmly state that “I like doing these things myself.” I hear no further argument.
Then comes the guns. Semi-automatics have a soft spot it my heart so I grab an all-American Hollywood classic, twin Desert Eagles, metal caps, and a spool of wrapping leather; custom grip can only be truly custom when you make them yourself. Snagging some holsters, I argue mentally between thighs and sides, before just getting both; no point wasting time. Then for knifes, I grab a classic butterfly, before grabbing some more practical Damascus hunting daggers that were lightweight so they could be thrown as well.
Nodding at Jimin, I let him take care of the payment as I continued to explore the room for anything else that we might like. Closer to the door, I see a locked cabinet with oddities that most would not look twice at; they sell information. A couple flash drives being bid off, probably filled with some military programs or governmental passwords. I wouldn’t put it pas them to have one or two automatic Trojans with a logic puzzle for those dolts that didn’t know how to use a computer. Then on the far side, something unexpected.
“They say that’s a charm from the Banshee herself.” Jimin, seemingly done with the purchase, came over towards the elevator as the store took care of sending our goods topside.
“The Banshee?” This was one I hadn’t heard before.
“Yeah. She’s an assassin with some sort of moral code apparently when she kills. And she takes or makes charms from each kill to remember them. Morbid, but then again anyone who’s that good ought to have a few screws lose to not go crazy.” He wasn’t wrong.
Even Master had told me it was odd when he saw the charms, but he got used to it. The box of filled bracelets I left with Master, the only thing of personal value that I really owned anymore so my wrists were naked and empty. Yet, the feeling never hit me until now, when I saw the only charm I ever lost (a round mosaic for a contemporary artist who also profited from fakes) for sale. The Banshee name had power and with power comes profit; the betting for the charm already past the million mark.
“Don’t think to hard. You won’t ever meet her.” Jimin laughed, the kind that came from his belly and was not held back by propriety.
“And you have?” It was a good enough act, lovestruck youngster falling for a power girl he had never even met before.
“Nope. But I want to. Her story sounds interesting enough.” That was the most uncharacteristic thing I had ever heard come out of his mouth.
“Her story,” I snickered, my face trying very hard not to mock him with its expression. “A mafioso and an assassin on a coffee date. That sounds more like the first line of a joke.”
He didn’t respond, but looking back as he pushed me towards the elevator told me he was thinking. The cogs were turning either to make up a lie or to figure out how to put it in words.
“I want to know what made her this way. She is truly someone that does not care, and something must have happened to make her that way.” His voice was quiet and rippling under the surface I could hear some semblance of emotions from him. It was a change, and I let him talk. “Even you can agree with this; we didn’t just wake up one day and decided we wanted to be like this. We went through the ringer and decided that we never wanted to be that low ever again, so we went for the heights.”
“We braved the cliffs and grew wings.” Simple words, but with more meaning that even a full paragraph could hold. He simply nodded in response and the rest of the ride up was silent, each lost in our pasts.
The ride back to the apartment was no different, except for the back piled with our new supplies. Quiet and heavy, not even the driver disturbed us in our thoughts.
The boys were waiting for us when we went upstairs, all cleaned up and hair coiffed to perfection.
“How was it?” Namjoon, objective as ever wanting to make sure the boys hadn’t lost their biggest weapons source because the two of us butting heads.
“Uneventful.” Me, as I turned to the boxes.
“Normal.” Jimin, as he joined the boys on the couch.
“Did you bring us presents?” Taehyung, relaxed as always, stretching his legs on the coffee table as he watched me organize.
I put everything that I had bought for myself in one box, including my harness, a loop of SWAT rope, the extra paracord, and the body suit. The rest was laid out on the floor next to the boxes that Jimin had already organized the others’ stuff into, most likely at the store itself.
“I bought all of you harnesses and new rope. I suggest getting used to wearing them around and working with the additional weight so break them in to your own comfort.”
Jungkook scoffed, “We have our own already.”
“Of course, you do. But do they have at least a 5-point weight distribution and at lest 10 hold holds for various roping combinations?”
He stayed silent.
“No? Then I suggest you break in the one I got for you or I won’t be responsible for you screwing this up for the rest of them. I didn’t bother holding back with him. Jungkook had started to get on my nerves. I was starting to get the feeling that no matter what I did, I would never get on his good side. I had reached a conclusion; it wasn’t me personally he hated, it was the idea of me; all fun and games when matched with his cold perfectionism. He thought I was stupid and infuriating, I thought the same of him; it worked out.
Walking back to my own room, I could practically hear Namjoon trying to figure out a plan to get me and Jungkook back on better terms. But that would have to wait for another day; I needed to get my stuff together.
Making it back to the relative haven of my room, I unpack and start customizing. First was the guns, taking the leather, I cover both handles in a primitive but more familiar imitation of custom grips, adding in the end the metal cap at the bottom of the grip because if you can’t shoot, you can at least swing. Sure, it does mess with the balance of the gun but you get used to it after a couple years of practice. Next, comes the computer. Booting up, I have never been more thankful for technology and resolve to ask someone to scan the document to upload, but after spending a couple hours with Jimin, I am ready to be alone.
Then again, when does the plan of the universe ever work in my favor? Just as I put away the rest of the gear, keeping the harness out to break in after I relax, I hear a knock on my door.
“Can I come in?” Taehyung. Lovely.
“Sure.” I didn’t bother to try to contain my annoyance, but this was Taehyung we were talking about; he was selectively blind, and deaf for that matter, to the world around him. He heard me say that he could come in but he somehow didn’t hear my annoyance.
He waltzed right in and seated himself on my bed as turned around from my desk. Glancing out the window, I could see the first signs of the evening clouding over the brightness of the day, so it was no surprise that he was dressed to go to work. Silk shirt unbuttoned just enough for anyone watching to get a peak of tanned skin tucked into tight denim. A lone silver chain hanging around his neck and thin rings of the same material making his fingers seem longer than you have ever thought was humanly possible.
Once again, he lounged. Looking back, you have never seen him as anything other than relaxed, except for that one time when you technically broke in so context matter with him. He didn’t even bother taking of his leather shoes which made you scowl.
“Any particular reason you’re hear or is it just to grind my gears?”
“Both, but mostly I have a question for you to answer for me.” He reached for his pocket and pulled out a swatch of white fabric that almost made my heart strop.
“A bandage? You want me to wrap something for you?” I didn’t let it bother me. The bandages I wore were a dime a dozen and he could have gotten it from any mom and pop medical store along the road.
“No I was wondering why you had these. If you’re hurt, that’s not good for any of us see?” Sitting up, he kept waving that bandage in front of me, taunting me like he knew all my secrets, but he didn’t.
“You went through my stuff?” Sighing, I relented. “Should have expect nothing less from a sneak thief. They are bandages for emergencies. I don’t trust for a second that Jungkook still doesn’t want to put a bullet between my eyes.”
“True. You and Jungkook really don’t get along. Though that is to be expected when the both of you have different ways of surviving.” Taehyung was smarter than you, and probably anyone else, gave him credit for. His mouth was working to distract while his eyes watched and learned from the people around him.
I didn’t respond, but I didn’t need to. Even Taehyung seemed to sense that our conversation was over as he left my room with some important parting word. “The most dangerous liars are the ones who give themselves to the lies, body, soul and heart.”

Hi! I've had the Train of Thought for 2 hours and have thoroughly hyper fixated on it so have this fun little nugget my brain gave me! What if during the entire venture, they never find Emmet in the carts? There are fragments of course, bits of their pokemon discussions, the origin of the "I like winning more than anything else!" line, but never a concise and full look at Emmet himself. A shadow following Ingo in all of his memories and any dialogue referencing it's name abruptly cut off. That's because Emmet himself IS the last car. What memory would be strong enough to hold a god in place without completely destroying the person (unintentionally) imprisoning it? Well, their twin of course!
After defeating the Conductor at the last car, the shadows fall away and there stands a man who looks exactly like Ingo. His smile is pained but genuine and in a quieter and flat voice "I am Emmet. I am a Subway Boss. You're a verrry strong trainer! Maybe strong enough to defeat what I. Alone. Could not. Good luck." Then the doors behind him open and Emmet vanishes, replaced by the false Giritina in Ingo's form.
(Wouldn't that be fucked up? Anyways thanks for reading if you did and I love all of your stuff not just the ToT AU)
ANON YOU GAVE US GOLD
this is such a good concept!!! The possibility of MG Emmet constantly struggling with the Entity/Thing/False Giratina because he’s the only memory strong enough to hold it back?? to protect his twin??? GOOD STUFF RIGHT THERE!!
I really love this segment you wrote!! So many good things going for it! ;0;
(And wow, thank you so much for the kind words Anon! ;v; You’re so kind!!)

The House Of Tiger # 2
Tumblr media
Coach Josh Brandon Parker head of the Peak Clifton Raiders is standing a random New York Mall. I happen to see him passing by towards another store, I laugh at my own luck diving in to a corner, and letting all my energy swell up j. my hand.
I wait for him to pass by the side alleyway to grab him one my right hand, I take a deep sigh when he turns to face me, and punch him in the faces. He falls backwards in to my arms as I drag him inside the alleyway leaving him on the ground.
“Sorry buddy, but I have major plans for your foreseeable future. Your team will become a unbeatable beats, a beacon of hope to all groups in need, and my shining achievement.”
I whisper in his hears, I then use him plan to imprint my first letter in his name.
His forehead glows bright red then forms a bright red letter L on his face placing it firmly in the middle. His eyes turn bright red giving in to his eyes steaming hot back at me soon it closes again. I kiss him on the lips skipping back on to the mall floor to do some shopping.
After about two hours in the mall I return to the alleyway to see his body magically lift off the floor. He stands tall bloody red iris dropping to his knee one hand on his knee and the other on the floor. His other knee drops allowing his access to his waist.
He undoes my shirt kissing my belly, I grab his neck forcing him upward to face me, and we head out of the mall. Meanwhile, at my place he holds me tight swearing allegiance to me I break out in a fit of laughter. “I am your pussy boi mg lord, please let me bring the team to his knees forever.” I inform him.
—————————-
Tumblr media
His favorite player Drew Langdon was called out to the field for a late night training session only to be claim as mine. I sit up high above in fan seats quite as church mouse watching the events unfold. Coach Josh grabs him by the neck holding him tight unable to move at all till he passes out.
“Yeah sorry bud, but whatever my love Master Lawrence wants, he will have no matter the cost, and you are expendable. Just you wait to glory of submission given to us weak, pathetic, unworthy White people.” He swears tightly suffocating him to the floor as he fights to the lose.
“Master Lawrence, your newest slave must be claimed.” He yells out to the stand when I rise to my feet sliding off the steps I race down to the main grounds. In one foul leap I jump over the board to the grounds, Coach Josh sexy ass runs over to me, and he kisses me hard long deep.
I am in utter amazement to see Drew rise off the ground his back facing the floor he is a true slave. A man of mindlessness dwelling within him standing tall, his mind completely mine to mold as I see fit, and I call him over to me. “Master Lawrence, I am here to serve only you.” Drew swears.
I make my way to the middle of the football field grounds my arms spread open for them to join me in the light. “Oh Master, we kneel at your feet begging you to let us serve you, we only think of the things that could make you happy, and surrender our entirety to give only to me.” Both men repeat.
“Bring the truck to the back of the stadium will be outside, also close up everything we can’t leave any evidence, and hurry it up.” My voice is raising higher then ever at Coach Josh who is what to in awe of me. He obeys without a second word entering the main halls of the stadium.

Tom is an asshole at best though once I make him my own that will quickly change for him anyway. He will see the error of his ways then he will bow to meet just you wait, and see how my magic takes affect with any effort on my part. Coach Josh looks up to see my signal him so he can begin his duties.
Coach Josh smiles shaking his head in total agreement, and in absolute obedience calling over Tom to the side. He punches him in the forehead imprinting my name on him before Tom can even react. The letter L permanently shines brightly significantly showcasing me new prize to the world.
“Are you ready to meet, please, serve and love your Master?” Coach Josh ask him. Meanwhile I have already enter the fray to which both men are quick to strip showing off their bodies for me. I am more than impressed at these to white monkey Adonis men, and I am at full advantage here.
Tumblr media
Erstwhile, on the field all that permeates Slave Drews mind is me, and the more he cannot stop thinking about pleasuring me seals his faith. One play he easily scores jumping up in delight he bumps in to his teammate JJ who gets a sweet inhaling of his sweat. His eyes cloud over with bright pinkness traveling up to form the letter.
“Most play my best game for Master Lawrence my sire, most make him proud of all my many accomplishments, and I most be victorious.”The only words in the world for JJ to muster in a grandiose fall to self destruction he turns my way. Our eyes are in contact instantly we connected the waves floating high above us astronomical values.
“Master Lawrence we made it the car is on its way.” Slaves Paul and Ryan command all of my attention even though I am engrossed in sports for the first time ever. Paul, Ryan, Josh, and Tom join me in awaiting their other two slave brothers. Drew, and JJ joins us smiling thanks to the victorious win they make New York History.
The end.

Pganabics anabolic steroids - An Overview of the Supplement
The popularity of the popular weight loss supplement called PGAnabolics is phenomenal, but is it really as great as people claim it to be? The question many have on their minds is whether or not PGAnabolics really works? Does it really deliver the promises it makes? And if it does, is there a better and more effective alternative? Let's take a closer look at how PGAnabolics works and what you should expect from this innovative product.
PGAnabolics anabolic steroids sarm review can easily reveal why it's such a hot commodity these days. It's an FDA approved substance used for pain management in hospitals. According to its manufacturer, the main ingredients found in the product are PGAnabolics and Hydrocodone. According to its performance data sheet, antibiotics sarm reviews indicate that it can suppress appetite, increase energy and improve body composition.
In order for a body builder to be able to use a PGAnabolics anabolic steroid, the primary ingredient, which is PPA, needs to be prescribed by a licensed medical doctor. It isn't sold over the counter. Doctors usually prefer to have antibiotics as opposed to anabolic steroids since anabolic steroids have the ability to alter the pH levels within the human body. Anabiotics don't alter the acid/alkaline levels, which is perfect for building muscle.
According to an anabolic sarm review, many consumers have benefitted greatly from this supplement. However, there are also numerous negatives associated with the product. For example, it can result in serious side effects. For example, it's known to cause serious nausea, dizziness, difficulty breathing, and even seizures. For this reason alone, antibiotics car reviews advise that if you want to gain weight, you shouldn't use this supplement.
One of the things consumers like about PGAnabolics anabolic steroids is that it's rather cheap. However, if you take it for an extended period of time, you could suffer some health complications. If you decide to use this product, your liver could become inflamed and ruined. You should also think about the potential side effects while using this product. Some consumers have reported experiencing sleeplessness, loss of appetite, and even damage to their heart. These risks can be reduced or eliminated through by following the proper dosage.
Although antibiotics may be one of the cheapest anabolic steroids online, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's the best. For this reason, it's important that you follow the instructions on the back label, which usually indicate how much of the ingredient is needed to produce a certain effect. In addition, keep in mind that this is a highly concentrated form of anabolic steroids, which means that it may take several weeks or months before you start seeing results. The best labs offer a full money back guarantee in case you're not happy with your purchase. In addition, it's very easy to tell when you're taking the wrong dose.
PGAnabolics anabolic steroids come in two different forms. There are the generic forms, and then there are the bottles with the "click and mix" system. For example, the generic "Purina Basic" will last for just three months before they expire. The "Sage" brand on the other hand, will last for up to six months. If you want to see more drastic results, then it's recommended that you use the "click and mix" formula, which allow you to mix up to 10 mg of the anabolic ingredients for maximum results. However, keep in mind that these bottles are limited in supply, and prices are very high - roughly twice as much as what's being offered in the 'normal' pharmacies.
This is one supplement that's really worth checking out. You never know what kind of crazy things the pharmaceutical companies might come up with next. One thing's for sure, though - if they come out with a supplement that doubles or triples your results, it's not worth looking at any further. Try looking into PGAnabolics , and see if you don't see why everyone's starting to turn to Mexico for their anabolic needs.

Part Two of the lifeguard/ blood moon thing? I like that universe
Read on Ao3 | Send me more Legacies Prompts!
Title: Uncharted Waters [P2]
Ship: Hope Mikaelson/ Lizzie Saltzman
(Read Part one here)
Electronic music hissed and pounded, the windows of the small house shaking with the tempo. Lizzie couldn’t bring herself to exit the car. Not with the group of people crowded on the front step, taking easy gulps of whatever cheap alcohol filled red plastic cups. With each wary glance towards the Chevy, she tightened her grip on the steering wheel.
Josie reached across her in a fluid motion, turning the key until the engine didn’t purr anymore. “People wouldn’t be staring if you turned off your headlights.”
“They’re staring because I almost let a kid drown.”
Lizzie kept her eyes forward. She was sure that she had the license plate of the car parked in front of them memorized. WTV-2869. It was an obnoxious shade of yellow that had once been white- Virginia is for Lovers, it read, but she wasn’t feeling any of it.
Kaleb was accustomed to throwing the end of the summer parties filled with alcohol and at least three bad decisions. It was a celebration of a good season and a flaunt of money that each of them had struggled to save up over the past three and a half months of being crammed in hot plastic chairs and mopping up fluids no one wanted to identify, not fully.
“That was almost a week ago, Lizzie.” Josie’s voice was tender and her fingers traced the seatbelt across her chest. She wanted to unclip it and pad up the front steps until she ran into the other girls that worked at the snack shack. All of them smelled like fried dough and artificial cheese but Lizzie never mentioned it. “I’m not saying you should get over it, it’s scary, I know. But no one else is holding it against you.”
Lizzie scrunched up her nose “Hope Mikaelson is, even though I apologized and thanked her for saving my ass.”
She finally conceded after a pointed glare from her twin, because yes, she had been talking about it non-stop for the past couple of days. Lizzie couldn’t shake the odd feeling she got when they walked past each other at the park or ended up being the last two in the locker room again.
The auburn-haired girl had switched all of her shifts to early mornings and refused to make eye contact. Lizzie had the deep and running feeling that Hope Mikaelson was avoiding her like the black death- and the only explanation she could conjure up was a fit of running anger from her own lack of awareness when manning the wave pool.
Both girls exited the powder blue car and breathed in the last summer breeze the season had to offer. There was a hint of autumn in the air that made her want to fold into herself with a good book. The grass vibrated with the sound of the latest pop song, neon lights flashing against the dirty windows. Kaleb knew how to throw a party, and a small part of her admitted that.
Lizzie stopped short of the drive and blinked up at the blanket of stars. The moon, she had noticed, was finally at its full peak. It shone bright like a crimson ornament in the sky, hung expertly on the best branch.
“It’s kind of cool isn’t it?” Josie smiled softly, craning her neck “And spooky.”
Lizzie tore her gaze away and growled “I wish people would stop saying that. Come on, if I absolutely have to be here, I can’t do it sober.”
And maybe Josie was right; she didn’t’ feel the looming eyes of her coworkers prosecuting her for her mistakes. No one even dared a glance at the two of them, not right away. MG stood against the mantel with his own cup of mystery liquor, and he gave a slight dazzling wave.
The pungent scent of weed leaked from the upstairs floor and greasy pizza littered the granite countertops in the kitchen. A few lifeguards loitered by the fridge, laughing quietly about the Polaroid’s tacked up with alphabet magnets.
Lizzie wandered over to one of the counters and fished through the ice bucket filled with alcoholic lemonade and bud light. She opted for the off-silver can, pushing off the extra ice and water. She was content with a slight buzz and staying to herself in the corner, Josie rushed off once she found her usual shift leaders crowded around a table converted for beer pong.
Jed was lingering at the edge of his pack of friends, hand wrapped around a glass bottle and eyes flashing towards her every once and a while. Lizzie pretended not to notice and instead started to scroll through her camera roll like it was something more engaging, setting the nearly empty can on the counter.
“Hi Liz,” He had moved closer, smelling of aftershave and sweat and whatever masculine scent his car had adopted. “I didn’t think you would show.”
Lizzie snapped her gaze up and shoved her phone in her pocket. “And why wouldn’t I?”
“You nearly let a kid die?” Kelsey had pushed herself close to the island in the middle of the kitchen, running a hand through dirty blonde hair that threatened to be greasy. She lifted the oil-stained lid of a pizza box before frowning and letting it fall back down. “I’m sure a party beats a jail cell.”
“Oh well, it’s never too late.”
She shoved herself from the counter, fully intent on joining MG next to the fireplace. Even if she did just stand there and listen to his off-handed conversation about who would best win in a fight between Superman and the Green Lantern. Jed took a step to block her path, giving a wolfish grin.
“Okay, Jockstrap, maybe you should get out of my way.” She knew her voice had gotten darker with the amount of patience she had left. People had never classified her as friendly, especially when she had a saint for a sister, but she had adopted the persona of intimidating.
Kelsey laughed, taking a long gulp of her own drink, “Sweetheart, we just want to know how on earth you even passed your entrance exam?”
Lizzie felt her nails dig into the palm of her hand because she knew she was a damn good lifeguard. She was human and she made mistakes, never had it been one that dire before and her mind was still grasping at that. She had studied for weeks and passed with flying colors- but she wasn’t about to give Jed or his little lackey the satisfaction of her fighting back.
“Leave the girl alone.”
Both lifeguards tore their predatory gazes away from Lizzie and situated them on the entrance of the kitchen; Hope Mikaelson seemed to stumble upon them, once again saving the day. Lizzie felt her blood boil because she had it handled. Much unlike the situation at the wave pool.
“Hope?” Jed had taken a half-step back “I didn’t’ think you were going to come tonight.”
“Funny, I was under the same impression.”
Kelsey swallowed loudly and lifted her chin in defeat, maybe even acknowledgment before the two of them stalked off and out of the kitchen entirely. Hope’s eyes were dark, darker than she had ever seen them before. Darker than that night in the locker room. She let out a sigh that was deep enough to echo a growl.
“I didn’t need your help.” Lizzie protested.
“Oh really? It seemed like you did. Jed and Kelsey would have eaten you alive, trust me.”
Hope turned away at once and left the kitchen through the hallway entrance. A small passage lined with photos of Kaleb’s family, one on the beach and two graduation shot’s. Lizzie pretended to ignore the fact that there was none of him. She followed her quickly.
“You can’t keep doing that.”
“Doing what?” Hope asked innocently.
“Swooping in like I’m some damsel in distress and you’re the hero that saves me from certain doom. I’ve got it covered, okay?” Lizzie reached forward and grasped at Hope’s wrist, trying to stop her halfway through the corridor.
Her back was suddenly against the drywall, the picture frames shaking at the strong impact. Though she had a few inches on Hope Mikaelson, she felt her heart rate spike. The other lifeguard had her pinned, a hand splayed next to her head and a dangerous hint in her stare.
“Don’t touch me, Saltzman. Not tonight.”
Lizzie gulped in the scent of vanilla and something metallic that she couldn’t’ place. Her voice came out a slight whisper and Hope’s impossible gaze flicked down to her lips. “What’s so different about tonight?”
“Coming here was a mistake.”
Hope tore herself away from the situation and pushed towards the front door. Through a group of people too stubborn to move. Lizzie blinked twice and tried to clear her head of the intoxicating allure that she had never registered before. She followed her again, instant relief washing over her once she was away from the stuffy house.
Anger still bubbled like an unchecked stew. What Hope had just done was shockingly intimate and her skin tingled where her hands had all but lingered. She glanced up at the moon sparingly and padded onto the walk where she searched either direction, but no Hope.
A thicket of woods surrounded the back of Kaleb’s house and for some pulling reason, Lizzie decided to brave it. The neon light of her cellphone was enough to make up for what the Blood Moon didn’t- and really, it wasn’t so hard to move along the wet trees and the subtle sounds of crickets.
“Hope!” she called out, breaking the near silence.
Lizzie shouted out a few more times before she stumbled into a clearing surrounded by stars. The stretching grass reached her knees and swayed like a crimson ocean in the scattered light. A deep pit formed in the center of the blonde's stomach; because maybe this was a terrible idea. The hairs on her arms stood up at attention. She didn’t feel alone.
She scanned her eyes against the tree line as the wind picked up until they landed on a set of eyes. Too low to the ground to be human, glowing like the moon above as they bored into her. She had read somewhere that in the face of an animal you had to make yourself look bigger but all she wanted to do was shrink.
Lizzie was rooted in her spot, helpless as the creature slowly stalked from its home in the shadows. Large and black and bigger than any type of dog that she had spotted before. Its eyes were a dark red and a deep growl erupted from the wolf’s chest. Lizzie felt like her own was on fire.
Another, smaller wolf, that was spotted in gold followed, its stance strong and offensive. Now would be a good time for her to run, or to cry, she wasn’t sure which instinct would latch onto her first but with the way her eyes felt heavy she considered it was the latter.
“Good doggie,” Lizzie held her palms out and lowered them because she saw it in a Chris Pratt movie about dinosaurs once. But the animals kept approaching and her legs felt like Jell-O. “Nice doggie.”
The larger one snarled and crouched lower to the ground. Its tail tucked and nose crinkled, and suddenly it was increasing its speed. Lizzie dropped to her knees and clenched her eyes shut, and she waited for impact.
For the warmth of blood and the sound of her own screams. The thought of News Vans and police officers and yellow caution tape flashed in front of her instead of some poetic movie of the good parts of her life. Maybe they wouldn’t even find her body because it would be picked clean to the bone.
Instead, she breathed deep on the scent of soil as she felt it work its way under her nails. There was another noise, one that was louder than her own heart. A yelp of fear low enough to only come from the animal lunging at her.
She propped one eye open and saw the black wolf on its back, hissing out in what could only be described as palpable fear. The yellow one had its tail tucked and eyes averted, golden and flashing in the light of the moon.
Lizzie dug her heels into the dirt of the clearing and pushed herself back a couple of inches, propping up on her elbows. Another wolf, smaller than the black one and so gray it was almost white like snow, emitted a loud and commanding rumble.
She felt her hands dig right into the roots of the grass as if she gripped it for stability. The black wolf rose from its position and let out a huff of air before dashing back into the cover of the trees. Inky and all too consuming.
The newcomer sent out another warning growl before the second animal scampered away entirely. But Lizzie could still feel the fear in the air like electricity as the white wolf shot an accusing glare at her, leaking with the annoyance of something larger.
The hair on the wolf’s back suddenly smoothed out and its ears were flat, head dipping and brilliant golden eyes shrouded with worry.
Lizzie conjured her words “I’m okay. Thank you.”
She sat and stared at the creature for a long moment, feeling the sting where her palms had scraped against rocks and dirt. It cocked it’s large head to the side as if questioning her, and took a daring step forward.
“You’re not so scary, huh?” She leaned up a little bit and the wolf let out a huff of air as if to protest the statement. “Oh? And you can understand me too.”
Maybe this was a fever dream, she realized suddenly. She had fallen in the woods looking for Hope and had hit her head on a log or a rock. Someone would come looking for her eventually and she would wake up in a hospital bed with enough ammunition to get even with Hope Mikaelson for saving that kid.
“Lizzie!” The call of her sister broke the world that they were in and the wolf took a few ample steps back. Those brilliant marigold orbs scanning the tree line.
“Wait, don’t-“
But the wolf had already caught wind of the scent and was rushing in the opposite direction of the way it carried. Fluid and so strong in its motions that Lizzie was entirely sure that none of this could be real.
Her sister, covered in muck and dirt, sprouted through the trees, nearly falling over herself. Lizzie felt bad for the worry on her face and the pure fear that soon followed. “MG said he saw you run out of the house and go into the woods- what are you doing out here?”
“I needed some fresh air.” She didn’t even buy that.
“Then why are you on the ground?”
“Looking at the moon, you’re right. It is kind of cool.”
Josie suddenly got a pensive look on her face as she squinted at the apple-red color in the sky. She shook her head and reached a hand down to her sister, not minding the dirt or the possible blood that coated her own palm. She pulled her to her feet and glanced around apprehensively.
“Come on, it’s creepy out here and I’ve had enough excitement for one night.”
Lizzie didn’t’ answer, instead, she followed Josie and hoped that the shorter of the two knew where she was going. But her nerves eased as the electronic sound of the party's music started to fill her ears once more. She couldn’t help but agree;
This was too much excitement for one night.

Legacies Recap: Fall Finale Brings Sex, Santa Claus and a Surprise Return
Tumblr media
Thursday’s Legacies found the students dreaming of a white Christmas, blissfully unaware of the holly jolly nightmare unfolding in their own backyard — er, chimney.
Hope first suspected that something was amiss when Mystic Falls’ perpetual haze of angst and despair was suddenly replaced by a mist of snow flurries and good cheer. And in the middle of October, no less. She watched in confusion and horror as her fellow classmates — along with Dorian and Dr. Saltzman — sang Christmas carols, downed hot chocolate and exchanged (gasp!) friendly tidings. It was awful, and Hope quickly put an end to the merry madness once she realized what was actually afoot.
And because every Christmas story needs a redeemable troublemaker, Clarke (still trapped in Simu-Landon’s perishable body) tricked Hope into letting him join the revelry, using the opportunity to wish for a visit from Malivore’s latest monstrous export. And just like that, along came Krampus, a horned beast accurately described by Clarke as the Anti-Santa. Unfortunately, Krampus wasn’t the hero Clarke had wished for; rather than bringing him the extra trident he requested, the snarly demon greeted him with a swinging hook.
It suddenly became clear to Clarke that the jig was up; Malivore knew that Clarke planned to double-cross him, and he wasn’t about to show his son any mercy. Accepting that there was no way out of this mess, Clarke volunteered to dive into the pit while the students took down Krampus. But when an arrow to the heart proved ineffective, a new hero arose, giving us The CW’s wackiest battle sequence since Mallus faced off against that giant Beebo on Legends of Tomorrow.
The person stuffed in Krampus’ sack turned out to be none other than Santa Claus, and he was itching for a fight after his lengthy entrapment. Trees fell, ornaments shattered and lights exploded as Krampus and St. Nick battled to the death, with the latter ultimately ripping out the former’s tiny heart with his bare hands. It was, in a word, perfection. Even this hand-crafted gif doesn’t do it justice:
Then came the best part of Christmas — the presents! Josie got Alaric a new headmaster sign to welcome him back to school, and Santa surprised Kaleb with the car of his dreams. (I kept waiting for that second one to have some kind of catch, but no. Good for him.) Still, it was Hope who received the best gift of all: an emotional reunion with Landon, who admitted that it was a mistake to leave in the first place.
“I love you, Hope Mikaelson,” he said. “I loved you when I couldn’t remember you. I loved you when I was dead. I think I always will.” It was very sweet, as was Hope’s response: “I love you too, Landon Kirby. I loved you when you didn’t even know it… despite the way you looked in a football uniform.”
And you have to hand it to the self-proclaimed coward for breaking things off with Josie before saying any of that to Hope. In case you missed a second of Landon’s heartbreaking conversation, here’s what he told Josie: “A person could not ask for a better partner, a better conscience. You are literally the best person who has ever had the poor judgment to hang out with me. I love the way you laugh, and your upside-down mouth, the way your face looks when you watch movies and…” She stopped him to say that she knew he was in love with Hope. “But that doesn’t mean I regret a single second, because you are beautiful and special and perfect,” he replied. “Nothing should ever be this hard.” (You can say that again, brother.)
Speaking of brothers, the episode’s final scene revealed that poor Clarke never made it into the pit. He was stopped (and beheaded!) by one of the hooded figures, who turned out to be — wait for it — the Necromancer. Honestly, I was not expecting to see his gross face again, but I’m sure glad we are.
Also worth discussing…
* While Hope was busy dealing with all of the above, Lizzy and Sebastian went searching for Landon, embarking on a road trip fueled by witty comebacks and sexual frustration. And gasoline, I guess. And although she initially rebuffed his advances, even telling him to (gasp!) put his shirt back on while he fixed one of her tires like a damn romance novel come to life, Lizzy eventually gave into Sebastian’s timeless, shirtless charms. Cue an instantly iconic sex scene on the hood of a car in the middle of nowhere. (For the sake of hotness, we’ll ignore the fact that Landon’s corpse was chilling in the trunk this whole time.)
* Rafael didn’t accompany Landon back to the Salvatore School, but he’s got a pretty good reason — he’s spending some time getting to know his father in North Carolina. Apparently Josie helped Landon track down Rafael’s relatives while he was stuck in wolf form, and Landon thought that reconnecting with his family might help Rafael feel like himself again. Considering how poorly MG’s reunion went with his own father, that was a risky little venture, but it seems to be paying off.

drowning in the depths of you (don’t save me)
[modern fantasy + mermaid guan shan AU]
Chapters: 1 | 2 | Read on: AO3
Chapter 3: A Glimpse
Guan Shan escapes a near kidnapping.
A/N:
Again, I apologize for inaccuracies. One thing I just realized was that Mandarin names are different from Cantonese names! *facepalm* This makes the characters' names factually incorrect since their names are read/written in Mandarin whilst the context of this work is set in Hong Kong...wherein 90% of the people speak Cantonese as their first language. Welp.
(I learned this because Lucas from WayV had two names. )
Apparently if you convert He Tian and Guan Shan's names into Cantonese you'll end up getting "Ho Tin" for HT, and "Mok Gwaan Saan" for MGS. Sounds pretty similar. ( And by extension, Jian Yi would be "Gin Yat", and Zhan Zheng Xi would be "Jin Jeng Hei". The more you know.)
Again, this story is not meant to emulate the exactness of reality. More than anything, I want you guys to enjoy as I try to give life to Old Xian's beloved characters. Enjoy this chapter!’
---
He hears the slam of his back on the wall before he feels the full brunt of the force.
'Fuck!' Panic immediately sets Guan Shan's gut, his vision blacking out momentarily from the sudden impact. He forces his eyes open and sees two masked men, one of whom was currently holding him up by the collar.
He snarls and knees the man’s gut, sending him backward. The man yowls and curls in on himself, failing to expect the quick response.
The other man was quick to act. His burly arms almost trap Guan Shan. The escapes only by a hair’s breadth, managing to side-step away at the last second. He pivots and lands a kick on the man’s side, putting him off balance.
The previous attacker recovers quickly, yanking Guan Shan's shoulder with a strong arm. Guan Shan ducks, pulling the man's arm to his front as he uses the man's momentum to swing him forward over his back. The other attacker uses that moment to charge at him with astonishing speed, caging Guan Shan's lithe frame with a grunt.
He’s violently pushed back, the concrete wall colliding with his back once again. A large hand wrapped around his throat in a vice grip. His hands fly up to pry the stocky fingers off to no avail.
“You shouldn’t have done that, cheeky little fucker.” The man growls at his face. Guan Shan glares back even under the crushing weight on his windpipe.
He hears the sound of an engine from nearby. From the corner of his eye he sees a black van pull up at the end of the alley.
His blood runs cold at the realization.
‘No! Shit—motherfucking—no!’
His mind races frantically, thrashing under the man’s grip. He’s no idiot, he knows exactly what the van was meant for.
“Easy, easy.” The man warns, grunting in pain as Guan Shan’s foot collides with his shin, the blows not really leaving much damage now that he’s pinned down helplessly. He shoots his arm out as he claws on the masked man's face, fingers grasping at nothing as the man moves out of reach.
"Feisty little thing, you never know when to give up don't you?" The hand at his throat grips tighter still. Guan Shan's eyes pinch from the pain.
“Hurry it up, we need to know if he’s the real deal.” The man holding Guan Shan down hisses to the other.
Black spots form on Guan Shan’s vision as the lack of oxygen goes to his head, his movements starting to wane in strength. He feels the touch of cool air on his torso. With a jolt he realizes that the other man had come forward to raise his shirt all the way up to his shoulder, exposing his sealed gills.
‘No…dammit…not like this…’ He grits his teeth, unable to hide himself from their raking gaze.
The man holding him down whistles. “Will you look at that?” He says, as if amazed.
“To think we actually found one." The other remarks, eyes greedily taking up the inhuman aspects on Guan Shan's body— the gills at his side and the patches of red scales on his hips, partially hidden behind the waistband of his sweatpants.
He feels the heat of the man's breath through the mask as he inches closer. "Will you spill a few tears for us? Hm? Give us one or two of those pearls before we hand you over to dons."
Guan Shan hates what he hears, the words affecting so much it makes him nauseous. ‘Fucking pieces of shit…I'll kill you...’. He swears as he clutches weakly at the man’s wrist, blunt nails sliding over rough skin.
He hears the sound of a plastic ripping and the touch of a needle on his arm. He chokes out a cry, eyes wide as his senses become overridden with instant fear. On the man’s hand was a syringe, its contents mere seconds away from entering his bloodstream.
He closes his eyes, readying himself for the worst.
It doesn’t come.
The sound of new footsteps echo through the alley, coming closer and closer at a swift pace. The two men in front of him freeze, turning to the sound.
“Shit!” One of them exclaims.
Guan Shan’s legs give out as he’s suddenly dropped, knees hitting the pavement hard. The two men run towards the van, the engine speeding off the moment they entered.
He clutches at his throat, back bowed as his breaths come in and out of his mouth in desperate huffs. He feels his eyes water as he heaved, from the pain, fear, shock— all at once.
Briefly, he registers the new presence. He turns his head to the newcomer’s direction, his vision clearing as he inhaled mouthfuls of air.
His eyes meet grey.
"Hey."
He recognizes him immediately.
“Are you all right, Red?” He Tian calls out to him softly, kneeling beside him.
Guan Shan can't help the surge of relief throughout his body. Without realizing it, he reaches out a trembling hand towards the other man. He Tian accepts it carefully, holding it close to his chest.
"Slow and steady, Red." He Tian tells him, his other hand reaching forward to rest on Guan Shan's shoulder.
He closes his eyes, trying to breathe in the manner  He Tian instructed him to do. With slow but deep breaths, he tries to calm the rapid beating of his heart.
His breathing slows down considerably. With gentle hands, He Tian cradles his face. He looks at Guan Shan with a worried expression, grey eyes cloudy with concern. Guan Shan doesn’t act like it, but his eyes are blown wide with shock.
“I’m f-fine now.” Guan Shan replies shakily, lips quivering. He Tian angles his head to get a better look on his neck. His brows furrow as he surveys the quickly reddening finger-shaped marks.
“You're hurt.” He says lowly, caressing the skin on his jugular with his thumb. Guan Shan shivers under his heavy gaze.
“It's no matter, they didn’t injure me or a-anything.” Guan Shan breathes out, but He Tian is unconvinced.
‘It could have been much worse…’ Guan Shan thinks, mind conjuring up images of what could have been.
It takes several moments for him to completely catch his breath. He Tian waits patiently, one hand leaving his cheek to rub soothingly at his shoulder.
Finally Guan Shan's breathing evens out.  He moves to stand, his legs not quite steady which makes him wobble for a split second. He Tian supports him, one hand on the small of his back.
“Come on, let's get in the car.” He Tian tells him softly. Guan Shan nods, thankful.
On the passenger seat he attempts to fully compose himself, his hands still shaking with small tremors. He leans back and clutches his sides, his brain still in overdrive from the incident that happened just minutes ago.
His eyes move over to He Tian who was still outside, talking with his phone on his ear. Guan Shan tries to pick up a few of his words, then realizes that the other man was currently reporting the incident to the local authorities.
He sighs, eyes closed. They almost had him. The syringe, whatever that was supposed to be, had nearly pierced through his skin. He guesses it was supposed to incapacitate him further, making easy for them to drag him to the black van then brought to god knows where.
What terrified him though was the fact that they knew about him. 'We need to know if he's the real deal.' He recalls, the masked man speaking as if Guan Shan already been considered prior to the near abduction.
His stomach lurches at the realization that he may have been watched.
His eyes open to find He Tian looking at him from outside the car. ‘Shit, what the hell am I supposed to tell him?’ Guan Shan worries suddenly, only realizing that the other man will be inclined to ask him about what happened. If He Tian asks, he can’t tell him that the masked men had attempted to kidnap him because that would lead to another why?
And Guan Shan can't answer that with ignorance. Anyone could easily see through that.
He runs his hands on his sides over the fabric of his shirt, feeling the depressions formed by his gills.
‘He can’t know.’ Guan Shan decides, resolute even in the haze of his disconcerted mind.
He Tian finishes the call and makes his way over to the driver’s side, entering the car with smooth ease. He faces Guan Shan who was already looking at him.
“He Tian.” Guan Shan voices out, voice barely above a whisper. The other man looks at him imploringly.
The gravity of the words stalls him abruptly.
“He Tian, I…” Guan Shan swallows, trying again, his throat drying from what he wanted to say. He looks down on his lap and wrings his hands together.
He Tian holds one hand out, seeking. Guan Shan slowly places his on top, fingers cold against the warmth of the other man's palm. He Tian intertwines their fingers together.
“Let’s get you home.” Guan Shan nods, swallowing his words.
The drive was quick, the silence broken only occasionally as Guan Shan points out the way. He Tian doesn’t pry at all, only glancing at Guan Shan through the mirror. That relieves him greatly.
He Tian doesn't say anything, but Guan Shan can tell that he was worked up too. Jaw clenched, his other hand gripping tight on the steering wheel.
'He must be angry.' Guan Shan thinks to himself. He knows it's not for him, but still he feels bad. He never wanted that to happen.
They reach his house within a couple of minutes, the night sky having darkened enough considerably for the streetlamps to light up. The car’s engine whirs lowly in the background.
Guan Shan takes a deep breath, having already practiced the phrase in his head many times.
“Thank you.” His words shift the air. He Tian shakes his head.
“I owe you my life.” Guan Shan continues. He tells He Tian that because it's true.
He Tian turns to look at him, his grey eyes soft. “You don’t have to thank me. I’d do it again and again if I have to.” He replies, not missing a beat. He gives Guan Shan’s hand a slight squeeze.
Guan Shan doesn’t know what to say, taken aback with the earnestness in He Tian’s words. He watches as He Tian brings his hand up.
His eyes widen, feeling the warm press of He Tian’s lips on his skin. The back of his hand tingles from the moisture.
His cheeks heat up from the chaste kiss.
His heart thrums slow and steady, whole body warming up just from a single touch of a mouth on his hand. “You don’t owe me anything either.” He Tian reassures, eyes staring straight at him from behind their intertwined fingers. Guan Shan breathes out a shaky sigh and nods. He doesn't agree with what the other man said, but he supposes there was no need to argue. Not now, at least.
They stay like that for a few more seconds until Guan Shan slowly pulls his hand away. He Tian lets it go without complaint. Guan Shan opens the door and steps a foot out awkwardly.
“I’m off now.” He mumbles out, eyes shying away. He Tian hums an affirmation. Guan Shan gets out, looking over his shoulder once before proceeding to walk up the metal stairs. He hears the sound of He Tian's car as he drives away.
He unlocks the door, relieved to see the lights closed. His mother has already retreated to her room. He barely registers what happens next, dropping his hoodie on the couch, washing up in the bath, changing his clothes.
He settles on his bed, body heavy with exhaustion. His mind was likewise a puddle of everything at once. He Tian’s true background, the sinister white-haired man back at the restaurant, a near kidnapping. The day had certainly felt like forever.
He falls asleep within the minute, still feeling warm.

A devastating murder rattled Kowloon City 13 years ago.
The sound of gunshots disturbed the night, alerting the residents in the neighborhood. The sound had come from an apartment where authorities found the lifeless body of a man and an unconscious woman. The murder of the man had been particularly brutal according to the report, the man having sustained three gunshot wounds— one to the shoulder, another to the chest, and the last one to the head.
They were surprised, however, by the presence of a child just under the table, a few feet from where the woman lied on the floor. Completely unharmed, but in great distress.
The individuals involved had been identified to be a family of creatures, although their exact identities were never released to the media. Unfortunately, the succeeding investigations failed to shed light on the perpetrators as the authorities were unable to find any credible evidence to incriminate any of the suspects. The case was ultimately ruled out to be a violent house break-in of an attempted robbery.
Guan Shan calls bullshit.
For the longest time, he could not bear to accept the results of the investigation. The truth behind that night had consumed him with anger for as long as he could remember.
He remembers the memory very clearly. Peeking underneath the tablecloth, hot tears running down his cheeks as he clamped his own hands to his mouth, muffling his terrified cries.
That was no house break-in. That had been an attempt to seize their family into the ring.
A gunshot, the splatter of blood on the floor, the horrified wail of his mother. A blow, and the heavy thump of her body falling on the floor. The final struggle of his father before a second gunshot hit him fatally. The step of a boot on his father’s chest, death apparent as the mouth of the gun pointed at his face.
The last gun shot rang through the air, rattling the walls and Guan Shan’s bones.

“Oh no, that’s unfortunate.” Xiu Hong’s speaks through the speakers of his phone. “Rest well okay?”
“Yeah. Thanks boss.”
“No worries dear.”
He presses the end call button and drops his phone at his side. He pulls the blankets up to his shoulders and leans back to the pillow. The thought of retracing his steps to the restaurant so soon makes his skin crawl.
He’s heard a lot of stories about what happens inside the rings. All sorts of inhumans like him, captured and never able to see the light of day, sold to dens for entertainment and pleasure or as personal properties. Not to mention the conditions of the very few creatures that were rescued— abused so severely they've lost all traces of sanity, as well as memory of their past lives.
It was barbaric how traffickers would tear them down, stealing them out of their houses or out open in the streets. And how authorities would turn their heads away, skirting around the issue if they could, so willing to let themselves get bought over by the blood-stained money of the triads. Guan Shan despises them all.
They've moved from their previous apartment since then, as if to get rid of the terror that happened that night.
The door to his bedroom opens. Guan Shan quickly lies back down, pulling up the blanket to his neck. His mother peeks her head in and gives him a gentle smile.
“Feeling better, baby?” His mother asks. Guan Shan nods. He told her earlier about how he was feeling unwell when she had come to his room to wake him up, thinking that he'd slept in late. She responded by giving him a pill of ibuprofen.
He stowed away in his drawer.
His mother crosses the threshold, a bowl of breakfast in her hand, the smell of eggs wafting the air. She leaves it on his nightstand and promptly sits beside him, running an affectionate hand on his hair.
She cups his face in both palms. “Don’t push yourself too hard okay? I know that you work hard and all, but you shouldn’t forget about resting.”
“Don’t worry Ma, I’ll be fine.” He tries to reassure her. Guilt settles on his chest for not telling the truth about last night. He can’t bear to shatter her heart.
("Shan...Shan..", he'd heard her once, just some months ago, sobbing frantically in the middle of the night as she opened the door to his bedroom. She thought he was asleep, head resting on an arm, chin tucked on the pillow he was holding to his chest. He heard her sigh, relieved to find him still on the bed and very much alive. )
She presses a kiss on his forehead. “If you say so.” She stands up then points to the bowl at his night stand. “Eat some food, okay?” Guan Shan nods once more, giving her a taut smile. She leaves shortly.
He sighs, angry at himself for having to lie, angry for being subjected into a reality he never wanted.
He turns to his side. On top of his night stand were the black earrings that He Tian gave him a week ago.
He tries to guess how much they cost, and wonders if his life had been sold at a higher or a lower price.

Somewhere in one of Hong Kong's high end districts, He Tian barely gets a wink of sleep.
The early morning sun's rays breach through the tall windows of his bedroom. He feels the heat touch his chest as he sat, back leaning against the headboard. Clutched between his fingers is a freshly lit cigarette.
He brings it to his mouth, inhaling slowly. The events from yesterday never leave his head.
He exhales, smoke dancing in front of his vision. He can't help but think about what would have happened had he been a second too late.
Guan Shan in danger, his own heart ramming so hard in his chest it felts like he would burst open. The hand prints on Guan Shan's neck, amber eyes blown wide with fear, the retreating backs of the masked men who fled as soon as they saw him.
He brings the stick between his lips again, the tip burning a bright orange as he breathed the nicotine to his lungs.
Perhaps the most unforgettable of them all, the very thing that disquieted He Tian the most—
The glimpse of a pale torso, and the presence of unmistakable slits on Guan Shan's sides.

Chapter 4 won't be up in at least a week...pardon me (RIP). Anyways, one of the bumps I met while writing this was the hand-holding scene because I wasn't sure if you could hold hands while driving LMAO. Apparently you can, if your car is automatic which means there's no gear shifting involved. Let's just say that HT is driving something like a 2014 Porsche GT3.
Also I really need to get a beta-reader...message me, please? None of my friends read 19 days :( Maybe I need to reconsider my choices in life? jk
