Insomnia self soothing by watching every Miasma video I can find. Just - he only does it for a second. When he pushes the body of the guitar to bend the sound. It scratches my brain ALMOST as good as the super vibrato he does.
This is from Irving Texas, clip is from tr3m0r45 on YouTube

hello! Could I possibly have some Rain and Dew fluff where maybe few catches rain singing to his favorite song?
Please this is going to give me cavities agh
YOU SURE CAN
Enjoy Dew finding comfort in Rain's habits. 💜
(Maybe more hurt/comfort than straight fluff but I liked this idea too much once I had it. Implied sex in the distance because I can't help myself.)
Dewdrop grumbles in the dark, rubbing the heels of his hands into his burning eyes.
He hasn't slept in what feels like forever, but has actually only been about a day and a half. Unfortunately for Dew, Mountain has been in a very rough heat and their rooms share a wall. He can hear almost everything Swiss and Aether are doing to "help" the earth ghoul, and while that normally wouldn't raise any complaints it's been going on so long now that Dew is beyond deriving any pleasure from it. Now all it's doing is making him feel alone and aggravated.
He glances at his phone - nearly 3am. He whines to himself as the chorus of moans and lascivious noises picks up again and Dew rolls onto his stomach to tug his pillow over his head, growling into the mattress. He's just so damn tired.
Another noise cuts through the sounds of lust next door, and Dew perks up a bit. It's a familiar sound - the rattling of ancient pipes warming, creaking in the wall between Dew's and Rain's bathrooms.
The water ghoul was on Dew's opposite side, and was generally much less of a bother. This was the one exception - Rain will only shower in the dead of night. Every night, like clockwork, the pipes would wheeze to life and Dew would know exactly what Rain was up to. He had been the same way when he was a water ghoul, only bathing when he knew he'd have all the hot water the abbey could make. He'd stand in the shower for at least an hour, letting his element wash over him. Rain seems to have developed the same hobby.
Dew lifts the pillow and cringes at a particularly pained moan from Mountain's direction, focusing on the sounds echoing from his bathroom. If Rain is in the shower, it means -
"Aether, please-"
Mountain's voice sounds like it's six inches from his ear and Dew growls again, wrestling out from under his blankets and padding to the bathroom. The tile is icy under his feet and he shudders, rubbing his arms for warmth as he presses an ear to the wall. His t-shirt and boxers do little to fight the chill hanging in the air on yet another bleak winter night. He's cold and lonely and so fucking tired and -
During a brief break in the cacophony, Dewdrop hears exactly what he hoped he would.
Dew sighs as his eyes drift shut, hints of Rain's lilting voice floating through the wall and the air vents on gossamer wings. It washes over Dew in warm waves, sinking into his jittering muscles and achy bones. Dew loves listening to Rain sing. His voice is...Dew doesn't have a word for it. Beautiful, ethereal, mystical - all true, none enough on their own to describe the sound wrapping itself around his mind. If anything could lull him to sleep, it would be this.
"All our times have come,
here but now they're gone."
"Seasons don't fear the reaper," Dew mumbles along as Rain continues, letting himself slide down the tile wall, "nor do the wind, the sun or -"
"Swiss, Swiss, oh fuck, Swiss-"
Dewdrop feels like he could cry, every bit of the beginnings of relaxation ripped away and leaving him feeling emptier than ever. He whimpers in a way that would normally have him scowling at himself, but he's beyond caring. Dew shuffles back to his bed and grabs a blanket, tossing it over his head and shoulders before stumbling on exhausted legs into the hall and quietly letting himself into Rain's room, muttering the lyrics the whole way. The water ghoul never locks the door, says it makes him feel too shut out. Dew is grateful for it.
He can still hear the patter of water from the bathroom, Rain's voice foggy but still present. Dew clicks the door shut and drags himself to the oversized armchair by the ember-lit fireplace. It's sapphire blue and endlessly comfortable, broken in in the best ways. Dew flops down, curling his legs up and cocooning himself in his blanket.
The sounds from Mountain's room don't reach this far, or if they do the monotonous staccato of water on tile drowns them out. Dew focuses again, and -
Dewdrop lets his eyes drift shut as a smile tugs at the sides of his mouth, that warmth already resettling into his chilled skin.
"Love of two is one,
here but now they're gone."
"Came the last night of sadness," he whispers along, body getting heavier by the moment, "and it was clear she couldn't go on..."
Dew lets himself go, shedding every thought save for the haunting words wrapping around his brainstem. He doesn't stop whisper-singing, the act becoming unconscious as the words pour from his lips. Dew doesn't even recognize the moment the water stops, lost in Rain's siren song.
"Come on, baby-" Rain sings, and it's clearer now.
"And she had no fear," Dew sighs, smiling sleepily.
"And she ran to him-" Rain sings, and it's louder now.
"Then they started to fly," Dew murmurs, pressing further into the chair.
"They looked backward and said goodbye-" Rain sings, and it's warm as a mother's kiss.
"She had become like they are," Dew mumbles, thick with sleep.
"She had taken his hand-" Rain sings, and in the haze Dew feels something between his horns. Gentle pressure. The scent of sea and sky envelops him, and Dew finally lets himself drift away on it.
"She had become..." Dewdrop trails off into silence, shifting into gentle, quiet breathing.
Above him, Rain smiles as he towels his hair. He rubs his thumb at the base of Dew's horn and bends to press a kiss to his forehead. It doesn't happen often, but seeing Dew like this makes the water ghoul's heart swell. He looks so peaceful.
Rain pulls on one of Swiss's shirts and a pair of boxers before crawling into bed. He arranges the pillows to give Dew an obvious spot when he wakes up - he always wakes up - and curls up on his side to watch the little ghoul sleep.
"Come on, baby," he sings softly, watching Dew's ear twitch, "don't fear the reaper."
In his sleep, Dew sighs. He'll wake up nestled in Rain's long limbs and wonder how he got there, but it won't matter. He'll just press his nose to the sleeping water ghoul's neck and breathe him in, salt and thunderclouds.
For now he dreams of soaring over the ocean, carried on wings of unearthly song.

WAIT WAIT ALSO GENESIS AND MIASMA ♡
HOO BABYYYY
genesis. SO underrated. why do we not talk about this song more. its so damn good
the tone we're starting off with? immaculate. so spooky. almost harpischord-like. and how the tone kinda shifts in and out? fades into a more clear tone with that first hit of the rest of the instruments???
when it kicks up around the 1 min mark? KLSDJKFKJLKSDKJ makes me feral. the cymbal hit before it really starts HHHHH
2:20, that change with the somber harmony added?? oooOOOOO
the synth at 2:57?? fuck me right up. and then the way it just
falls away? into the acoustic, uplifting, almost spanish guitar vibes?? i feel like im being serenaded in sweet sweet italy. that ending little group of notes?? so good
miasma:
oh man, what can i NOT say about this song?? first of all, the way it fades in the beginning from that low, almost too low to resonate note. (BETTER in person)
that SWEET drumroll. i will never shut up about the drums. predictable i know, but they're so good.
the synth is immaculate in this. the way it wails just after the 1 min mark. and again at 2:08 into that grand, chorus like sound.
the tamborine at 3mins before we're about to get that sweet sweet saxophone. but the guitars before that and those harmonies? the piano at 3:48??
i remember hearing this for the first time and i went SAXOPHONE?? HELLO?? its so unexpected. but so tasty.
the drum roll at the end. DELICIOUS. GIVE THIS MAN MORE DRUM SOLOS PLEASSE.
and the way they just rock it out for 2 seconds at the end. UGH

Listen, I will always be incredibly happy and grateful that I got to see ghost live last year. It was one of the best nights of my life, and one I’d waited for for nearly 2.5 years!
I am however kinda bummed it was on the only leg of the Imperatour that they didn’t bring Nihil back 😭

Miasma - A dangerous foreboding, or deathlike influence or atmosphere
Tumblr media
In case anyone didn’t know… I have a hyperfixation within my hyperfixation. And that is Miasma. I tried to do something more sketchy to capture the feeling and the movement and the atmosphere. Also - I don’t know Tobias this song doesn’t make me feel any of those things.

gonna take a risk and say 4:37 if you have any longer songs. tell me what the universe wants me to know pretty please
I GOTCHU
Hilariously, you got: Night Sculptor by Cos Sylvan! You can't escape your husband, Ricky.
Come alone; it's pride that owns the night here.
I had to google the lyrics since this man's singing voice is utterly incomprehensible (positive), but I take this to mean that you need to have more confidence in yourself. Be proud of who you are and what you've accomplished - you deserve it!

LET'S TALK GHOST SONGS! I give you my top 3:
Deus in Absentia, Respite on the Spitalfields and Witch Image!
see the lovely comet for witch image >:)
Deus:
the fade in from the clock. i like the way the beats are accented in the beginning, much like Spillways is. and how on the second chorus the hi-hat adds to it
'and you are here to stay and burrrn with me' the harMONIES in this song are so good
YOU'RE SO GODDAMN FRAIL
the way the second chorus edges you, makes you think he's gonna say 'forever more' but he says NO BITCH another round + the little drumroll
ALL OF YOUR IMAGINATIONSSSSS / ARE NOW RUNNING DOWN YOUR FAAACCCEEE + the guitars after this to the clock sound again to:
oh you are looking good / bareback in disgrace
why is his voice so sexy in this one. god.
one thing you must know about me, is i am a choir snob. i LOVE old 'church' melodies, how tobias sneaks them in, ESPECIALLY THE END OF THIS SONG. PleASE. how you can almost hear it echoing like holy prayer off the church walls. which, btw, is ALWAYS the best place to sing. the acoustics are no other.
the grandiose of 'in absentiiaaa' FUCK ME UP
Respite:
hhhNNNGGGG
im sorry. literally the first stanza. we're here in the after / of a murderous crafter / the past is spun like a yarn and mangled / with flesh and blood and bones i wonder / did no one hear the distant thunder?
please its so good.
and again. for the dreams that you dreamt-ahhhh. fuck me up tobias
we're promised seats by the pit + the break and little drums
I'LL BE THE SHADOW, YOU'LL BE THE LIGHT
WE WILL GO SOFTLYYY INTO THE NIGGHT
the guitar solo. OOOOOOOHHHH the guitar solo + the driving section (drums and bass AGAIN) into we're leaving the cittyyy / so this is farewell
that little major chord uplift on goodbye seven sisters + one day he will come bacck
this entire song is a fucking masterpiece i stg
SO WE WILL SUFFER IN AWE
THAT THE KINGDOM WE HAILED / WAS THE WIZARD OF OZ
and the end section? with the drum rolls??? looping it back to imperium?? im ascending. makes me wanna cry every time
