We weren't able to have a proper trial for months now, but now that can progress. If you ask me, the odds are good that she'll be receiving the death penalty now that she's 18.

But who really need to give her testimony is her sister, Hibiki-san. But that'll have to wait until after this Shirogane situation is dealt with.

hajime is the mc, a regular guy with no life plans or friends who gets a job at the institute of hope (hpa but its focused on the research instead of the school) to have something to put on his CV. gets archivist-ed

he's a part of the junior department. its basically an internship program. the other members are -

murasame soshun : fellow regular guy ! no supernatural encounters yet but has an irrational fear of ghosts. the (unofficial) manager. helps hajime around to begin with and they get along well. probably the most mentally well in the group though he definitely overworks himself hard + puts other people's needs ahead of his own. depending on how i decide to have the story go, he gets lonely'd

fujisaki chihiro : tech support. bit of a recluse. in a constant battle to get anything in the archives recorded on something that isn't paper, so she ends up helping hajime in sorting the archives fairly often. not totally sure if i want her to end up as an avatar? if i did though it would probably be eye, flesh or spiral

gekkougahara miaya : ok she's here i haven't planned very far beyond that. i'm thinking she does a lot of the online research on statements? her and chihiro often work together on both of their jobs though. she probably stays human. i think nwp trio needs at least one human lol

matsuda yasuke : end avatar w/angsty backstory. love making my favs suffer. more of a forensic pathologist than a neurologist in this au, but just as self-taught. technically a part of the junior department but doesn't leave his office/lab area unless forced to.. which is mostly when the proper ioh workers need him for shit. soshun, chihiro and miaya visit him because they actually somewhat get along with him. hajime, however-

there's also their actual boss, kirigiri jin, and chisa/kyosuke/kouichi/etc work in the main part of the facility. juuzou exists but probably works elsewhere (probably as a cop or sth). jin is an eye avatar (+ probably kouichi too), kyosuke is a lonely avatar, im not certain about the rest yet. desolation juuzou seems fitting i think?

i have some characters who i want to have join the archival team later in the story but i also haven't planned most of that story yet so. lol. sato joins after an end encounter (twilight syndrome murder case-adjacent, kuzuryuus are end-aligned). i'm not sure if shinobu gets employed there but. she's a journalist ! she has connections ! just don't worry about her family i'm sure there's nothing weird happening there (togami corp is buried-aligned, but shinobu is eye-aligned if anything). nagito isn't an archival assistant but he's a vast avatar, and the first avatar that hajime knowingly interacts with. he collects leitners and provides info to hajime but he's also kind of a prick. he still self-depreciates he just also kinda worships the fears and considers all human life worthless. and he doesn't THINK he's being that rude but wow this hajime guy sure is sure of himself better remind him of his (unimportant) place in the universe. also he's very much rooting for the guys carrying out the fear rituals so thats fun.

+ you can't forget the former archivist, who had to be kirigiri kyouko. who else would it be. born to the kirigiris who run their own eye-aligned info-gathering organisation (their detective agency), and mostly raised by fuhito to be the heir of it. befriends samidare yui in a way basically the same as in dr kirigiri (but with more . supernatural crimes), and over time comes to question her family's dealings with the fears. comes to the institute of hope to figure out what happened to jin, but leaves mysteriously w/yui and nobody has heard from them since.

and thats it for the main cast ! there's other characters i have plans for (i have an imposter statement planned, and i want sayaka to start a stranger ritual... junko is also important i'm just not 100% sure how im going to handle her part in the story and how much of what i have planned i want to put in a summary post. and so on)

maybe i'll actually write some of this as a fic later. Who knows

THE DANGAN KING CHALLENGE - MIAYA GEKKOUGAHARA

Here’s the first piece of this Challenge, requested by @knightofthewind! 

Miaya is a very gentle lioness belonging to the pride of Matumaini. Alongside Yukizome and other lions, she cares for any cubs that may be adopted or born within the pride and also excels at providing ‘medical’ assistance next to the pride’s shaman, Hiroko, and her shaman-to-be son Yasuhiro, being knowledgeable of plenty of herbs and remedies that may aid in improving any pride member’s health or healing their wounds.

Due to birth problems, her legs aren’t very strong and gets exhausted after walking or running very easily, which is why she’s laying down most of the time. She’s also very quiet-spoken and only speaks when necessary; nonetheless, she’s a very comprehensive and gentle lioness that’s well-loved within the pride.

And before you ask, yes, I suck at drawing rocks

Hopeful Motivation?

“That should keep us safe.” Mukuro said, mostly to herself, as she pushed the final piece of debris in front of the door to create a barrier. With her was Makoto and Miaya, who she had promised to protect. Makoto nodded and sat down opposite Miaya, encouraging Mukuro to sit beside him.

“So. The next time limit is approaching, huh?” Makoto said, trying to start a conversation. The silence was dull, and he couldn’t take it. He looked at his wristband to see that they had less than five minutes left.

“Yeah. Are you nervous?” Mukuro asked, sitting on her knees next to him. She had sworn to protect him, and she would do anything to make him safe. He looked at her, shaking his head.

“Not at all! I know you and Miaya aren’t the attacker, and that barrier should surely keep any attacker out.” Makoto said to her, smiling at her. She nodded, relieved he wasn’t buying into her being the attacker like almost everyone else was.

“You did a good job with that barrier.” Miaya, or rather, Monomi, told her. Mukuro looked up at her, a little troubled. She could sense something was off, but couldn’t put her finger on why. She’d kept it to herself too. “I know most people are saying its you who’s the traitor, but I don’t think it is you either.” Miaya told her through Monomi. Miaya was the former Ultimate Therapist, someone Mukuro had spent a considerable amount of time with before the killing game, so her words did have an impact on her. “You’re not a bad person. You’re not like your sister at all. Your past colours people’s views of you, sure, but if they just look past that they’ll see how kind and gentle you truly are.”

“I don’t understand why you’re saying this to me now.” Mukuro said to her, looking up at the screen on her wheelchair. Makoto was quiet, also looking at the screen.

“It’s because you need encouragement! I can tell!” She told her confidently. Mukuro nodded. That was true. She was such an insecure person as a result of the emotional abuse Junko subjected her to that she needed more assurance and compliments than she’d ever admit.

“I’m gonna try and get comfortable.” Makoto said, shuffling away. Mukuro glanced down at her bangle, seeing they had less than a minute until the time limit. She also saw her forbidden action, one she had kept secret. She’d reveal it when she was ready to.

“Let me lay beside you. It would make me feel better.” She said, going to where he was. He nodded once and came closer as she sat beside him.

“I believe in you, in both of you. You’re both gonna survive this.” Miaya encouraged through Monomi, staying where she was. She could still see them. Mukuro nodded and gently wrapped her arms around Makoto as the time limit expired. Her eyes closed, and she was soon put to sleep along with Makoto.

Monaca rolled her eyes and played with one of her pigtails, super bored. She kicked her legs around, watching the screen. She took off the headset she’d been using to voice Monomi, turning it off so nobody would risk hearing her talk.

“This is so boring. It’s all just so hopeful and positive. Big sis Junko was right, hope sucks.” Monaca whined to herself, taking a bite of a cookie placed beside her. She tried to think of something that she could do to make the game more interesting. She wasn’t masterminding the game, she was just lurking. She’d already used ketchup and a fake knife to make it look like Hina had been killed, but now she had no clue what to do. “This game needs to get interesting soon. If only now was the fourth time limit.” She giggled as she thought of the surprising despair that awaited the lovers with the passing of the fourth time limit. Soon, but for now she’d just have to find despair in her boredom.

I cleaned up these Listen Flavor sweater designs of Miaya. No real reason. I just can’t get enough Miaya and these designs are all pastel and nice. They make for good icons and such, and cleaning them up makes it easier to do that. Feel free to use them for whatever you’d like.

I’m just disappointed honestly. At first I was sympathetic to the idea of Kanade getting a second chance at being a normal person, but she instead used it as a second chance to go psycho. Honestly, my question is WHY is she like this in the first place.

I just...I don't understand. She was getting better. I thought she was improving...

All I wanted was to help her...to give her another chance after what...what Matsuda did to her...

"Nakamura-kun...what you tried to do was very thoughtful. I wouldn't expect anything less from you. But this was beyond anything you could help with."

"Otonokoji Kanade's obsession with people whose affection she desires, her volatile emotions, her violent tendencies, her egoism and problems with affective empathy, this was all something a trained professional would have trouble dealing with. Not to mention, with how severe her antisocial behavior has been shown to be in the past..."

...I was just making things worse?

"It was just more than you could handle, that's all. You can put in all the effort you're capable of, but it's also up to the patient to apply what you've tried to share with them. And Otonokoji-san...she made her choice."

"Not everyone can be saved. That's...one of the hardest lessons I've had to learn as a therapist."
