fellows for pride month im getting a compound microscope to complete my lichen identification setup. cant hold it in anymore cant keep it back

#for those not acquainted #the optimal lichen ID setup has both a compound and a dissecting microscope #you use the dissecting scope to inspect the creature and do chemical tests (although tbh some chemical tests you dont need it)#and you use the dissecting scope to search for spores and look at smaller structures. usually reproductive structures bc lichens love those #my old compound scope wasn't great but it died. it was my fault. did not take the batteries out and moved like 3 times #tried to do surgery on it to clean it. prognosis was grim #side note if i had a nickle for every microscope ive done surgery on id have 3 nickles which isnt a lot but its weird it happened 3 times #lichens
