i was expecting a sad serious album and that’s what my initial disappointment was caused by but now i like it its silly and camp and fun

not having the best mental health day so ended up caving and reading about the midnights leaks lol... i didn't listen to them just heard other ppl's opinions and honestly I Am Worried. i really was hoping for a soft 70s rock vibe à la the album aesthetic but apparently it's giving pop. i didn't think we were going to get folkmore 2.0 nor would i have wanted that but i'm not thrilled about a return to taylor's pop sensibilities either. plus some of the lyrics seem questionable to say the least

that all being said i very well could love it upon first listen tomorrow. if i heard some of the lyrics to peace or the lakes out of context i also would be scratching my head. also my tastes don't always follow that of the bandwagon, i've seen a few ppl say she's in her solar power era (i.e under-performing as an artist famous for lyrical ingenuity and sonic innovation) and i'm part of the minority that loves solar power so. we shall see. i was just desperately hoping for a more alternative, rock-adjacent sound following renegade, the carole king performance, gasoline with haim, even carolina... i fear i will be disappointed 😕

Not to sound like a boomer Swiftie but it’s crazy to have Taylor just give us the album cover, title , release date, and tracklist.

We literally had to Easter Egg our way though the entire Lover release, girl didn’t even give us the title and when we correctly guessed it in a mv we were lied to
