TODAIBA DAY IS ODAIBA DAY!!! I thought I'd repost all the chibis i did several years ago under my old account. They look better than I remember!

In Digimon Tamers, Zhuqiaomon was solely responsible for the creation of the Deva, who it sent to abduct Calumon. However, in broader Digimon lore, it is but one of four Digimon sovereign (a group of Digimon who previously appeared in Digimon Adventure 02, with the focus on Azulongmon) each of whom rule over three of the Deva.

After meeting Shu-Chong "Suzie" Wong, Antylamon defected to the side of the protagonists.

The Deva are all based on signs of the Chinese Zodiac.

Azulongmon of the East rules over Mihiramon (the tiger), Antylamon (the rabbit), and Majiramon (the dragon).

Ebonwumon of the North rules over Vikaralamon (the pig), Kumbhiramon (the rat), and Vajramon (the bull).

Baihumon of the West rules over Makuramon (the monkey), Sinduramon (the chicken), and Caturamon (the dog).

Finally, Zhuqiaomon of the South rules over Sandiramon (the snake), Indaramon (the horse), and Pajiramon (the sheep).

Embodying the center of the Earth is Huanglongmon.

Your digimon project has inspired me to pick back up my old digimon ttrpg campaign with my husband, thank you! Also I'm loving all the art and the lore of digimon project: Aurora! As for a question, in your digital world, do the Devas (Sandiramon, etc.) hang around at all? Or are they not involved? And are there other "crossroad" worlds between worlds that aren't the Dark Area?

Ahh I'm glad! I've seen people mentioning that they play/played Digimon ttrpgs and it sounds super fun! I didn't even know before that folks did that.

And yes, the Devas are present in the story! They have a more background/minor role, but are, for the most part, benevolent and sometimes helpful to the humans.

While the majority of them stay in the Digital World, several of them crossed into the real world at different times before and during the story and, in secret ( though cooperating with the Organization ), temporarily settled in various parts of the world to help keep the situation with Dark Area's anomalies in check, as well as help local Digimon. They treat the areas they live in as extensions of their domains, and protect those within. Though initially they were more interested in only caring for their own kind, they eventually extended that to humans and even animals and nature as well.

Mihiramon, Pajiramon, Majiramon, Sandiramon and Antylamon are mostly the ones that reside in the real world.

And yes, there "likely" are, though neither humans nor Digimon haven't discovered any other such dimensions at that point... yet!

Digimon Tamers - Episode 14

Oh snap! The plot be plottin'! Yamaki's (finally learned his name) plot to destroy all digimon fails spectacularly and instead he creates a rift between both worlds and -checks notes- Mihiramon (a perfect level) comes through. We also get a bunch of new stuff introduced this time: using cards to digivolve, Takato being "connected" to Guilmon, and Guilmon's perfect digivolution MegaloGrowmon! Still don't fully know what's going on, but there are more mysteries to solve now which means I'm more invested :)

Notes:

That skyscraper they keep showing with the two towers...is that a real building in Shibuya or something made up for the anime? I tried googling this, but found nothing.

The silhouetted digimon flying into their doom was pretty creepy. Kinda reminds me of all of the souls floating around in the Underworld in Hercules (but like...in the sky instead)

So the enemy digimon acknowledge that they were created by humans but they only obey their "God." For a second I was like "but isn't your God supposed to be your creator??" but that's not necessarily the case in a lot of polytheistic religions, so I guess anything goes.

Yamaki casually chokes out Jian and Terriermon barely reacts ("that guy's rude!") lol wtf

Two very ugly digimon designs in this episode: Mihiramon (weird name) and MegaloGrowmon. Mihiramon looks like he was designed by an 8 year old (I had to laugh when they showed his nunchuck tail) and MegaloGrowmon is just profoundly derpy. Kinda looks like it hurts to be him and he's lost a lot of ability to emote because there's way too much going on with his face.

Considering the timing of when this anime came out, I bet Matrix Evolution was inspired by the coolness of The Matrix for sure. I doubt the name has much meaning aside from sounding neat.

Lots of big hits to the digimon in this one, Renamon falls off of a sky scraper and makes a huge dent in the concrete below and yet apparently takes zero fall damage. Growmon gets his entire side chomped on by Mihiramon and is also okay I guess (maybe digivolving to MegaloGrowmon healed him?)

Galgomon is apparently just braindead because he fully shoots at the open air for a weirdly long time during his fight. Also...apparently he can run out of ammo which I didn't see coming. How the heck does that work? Where does the ammo come from? When he runs out is that it until he de-digivolves and then digivolves again? So many questions...

So Takato is linked to Guilmon physically and was able to create him from a drawing...there's gotta be some connection there...

Suddenly Takato's friends are okay with him being an IRL digimon tamer. I guess they had to fully see him in action to respect it. Seems a little two faced of them...

Culumon was pretty prominent in the matrix evolution sequence...(but why tho)

Megalomon's digivolution sequence was in that charming early CGI. Doesn't look fantastic, but it's nostalgic. I think I can see some improvement from earlier seasons at least. Actually I think these mecha-esque designs sometimes look better in the CGI and then look awkward in the 2D animation.

Okay, Tailmon/Nefertimon is an easy one. Bastemon and Ancientsphinxmon. Mihiramon and Baihumon also have a lot of merit, but we're talking about evolutions for Nefertimon specifically and the Egyptian cat theme is rock solid.

I don't have a ringer for Patamon/Manbomon's perfect stage, but Pukumon is a fish with fists for punching so that's got to be the ultimate. I guess Hangyomon works for filler.

I did not ask for V-mon with the digimental of light to turn into a demon in bondage, but I have to work with the cards I was handed. Manticoremon was basically made with Gargoylemon in mind, and I like Dijiangmon as an evo for them since it's, once again, a demon in bondage.

Hawkmon/Harpymon is easy to work with since a bird man is a lot less Out There conceptually. Silphymon and Chronomon Holy Mode work almost too perfectly here. Harpymon actually makes it look natural that Silphymon has cat ears and a white humanoid torso.

Speaking of being Out There, Armadimon/Seahomon. Hey, you know what other digimon is silver with gold accents and doesn't fit anywhere else and evolves from Armadimon and is vaguely angelic? That's right, I used Shakkoumon and made it kind of work. I could have tacked on a random Angemon evo for the ultimate, but we're thinking about Seahomon and luckily, there happens to be a gold and silver sea serpent with a cannon for a snout and its name is MetalSeadramon. Seahomon's data says it has some nebulous association with the Seadramon family, so I'm pretty content with this.

Wormmon/Coatlmon evolves into Sandiramon because it's a white snake. I would have loved to use another snake or serpent for the ultimate level too, but Mervamon is close enough. It's a lot more femme than Wormmon, but it's the best option outside of a dragon. Its helmet even has little wings on it.

Yggdrasill is the host computer

Homeostasis is a formless lifeform

Depending on the story Homeostasis takes over when Yggdrasill gets shutdown (Xros War Manga) or They co-rule while stepping on each others metaphorical toes (Digimon Adventure Tri) but for most stories it's usually just Yggdrasill with maybe implied Homeostasis is around

Yggdrasill usually ends up as an antagonist of a story for being too much of a robot and being so black and white about situations

(very quick to call for a purge)

While Homeostasis would be a antagonist due to their desire for a balance

God- depends on the story. Sometimes it's a person that programed the digital world. Sometimes it's Yggdrasill or Homeostasis. And their role is...well to be God

They reside in The Kernel aka God's Domain aka This is where all the important data is at and if something goes wrong shit hits the fans HARD

This is also where God's army resides

as the newest big group curtesy of Digimon New Century not much is known of them they got big mary sue energy but in all fairness this their first appearance so they need to make a good impression so fair but from what I've gathered while 3 Great Angels are fighting fallen angels and demon, 4 Holy Beasts are governing and Royal Knights deal with the highest of threats, these will be the ones that take care of lesser threats and fight for the little guys

So I did actually have full evolution lines planned out for the Digimon AU. Here they are! In some media, the Four Sovereigns are used as like, an even stronger evolution than Mega so they've got a "normal" Mega and an "advanced" Mega.

Dracomon - Coredramon Blue > Wingdramon > Slayerdramon > Azulongmon

Kamemon -Gwappamon > Shawjamon > JumboGamemon > Ebonwumon

Pulsemon - Runnermon > Mihiramon > Kazuchimon > Baihumon

Biyomon - Birdramon > Garudamon > Phoenixmon > Zhuqiaomon

Betamon - Seadramon > MegaSeadramon > MetalSeadramon or Aegisdramon

Mihiramon is the Tiger Deva and I liked it more than any of the usual Ultimates for the Pulsemon line, and Kazuchimon keeps the lightning elements from Pulsemon and Runnermon. Betamon is mostly a placeholder because it's a frog and I like it and its evolutions more than Otamamon (the only other frog-themed Rookie).

first off I LOVE KYOJYU GETTING A BIG BADASS DRAGON. WE LOVE 2 SEE IT!! also i think i know what you mean by them being above mega, i believe cyber sleuth has this (for instance alphamon oryuken... who is one of two different super ultimates i used alongside gallantmon crimson mode)

when taking a look at qinglongmon i noticed it doesn't evolve from slayerdramon according to wikimon... but also. if a fucking mermaid gets to evolve into the azure dragon for some reason i don't see why many actual dragons can't (seriously i know digimon evolution is weird but this is like. an especially strange one from what i've seen) so honestly we love 2 see it. slayerdramon can do whatever it wants probably

anyway i know this is in mostly in regards to the bba team which. okay on one hand i wanna throw in something for daichi but also i'm not entirely sure what. it could be agumon though. apparently wargreymon can become huanglongmon which... feels about right that it can do that. but ANYWAY i just want to say lucemon is, unsurprisingly, pretty brooklyncore i think.
