HI HELLO ITS NICE TO SEE YOU ON MY DASHBOARD AGAIN!! I HAVE A QUESTION!! I've seen Beau and Ives's dynamic here and there before but I want to know! What do you think of their dynamic?? Do they get along well from the beginning?? What was their first impressions of each other??

Ah! Thank you! And for the question!! (Brace yourself for a ramble!)

Beau and Ives have something of a funny dynamic. I, personally, love it because it's not talked about much and it grows a lot through the story. I like to think of Ives, Mikki, and Beau as siblings, with Ives being the eldest. Funny enough, Ives also gives this eldest sibling vibe when Beau first arrives and is paired with Ryker –> He thinks he's being replaced.

But he's not mad, he doesn't hold a grudge against Beau for it. In fact, he sees how new and confused Beau is and tries to help him find his way about things. Ives is actually super protective of his fellow Synthetics around the station (including Mikki even if she doesn't need it) and Beau is instantly included in that! His first impression of Beau was a mixture of "this is a newer, nicer version that everyone instantly loves, but he also needs some help figuring things out. I remember being that way and how I didn't like it, so let me help."

Versus Beau seeing Ives and going "Wow! This guy is awesome, I wanna be like him when I grow up! He has so many friends here and so much experience!" And then gets a little awkward around him/doesn't know how to talk to him because Ives is the stoic, cool guy.

But as Beau develops he really starts to see Ives for who he is, that there's more than what he lets on, and starts trying to bring him out of his shell. While Ives grows more protective and caring for Beau. And even if he doesn't understand Beau's fascination with Garnet, Ives is glad that Beau isn't held back by fear in his journey of self-discovery.

TLDR; Ives is an exasperated older brother who's trying to keep Beau from sticking forks in electrical outlets, but he'll protect him with his life, and Beau looks up to Ives even after he finds out he's a massive dork and wants to help him be comfortable with himself.

Bonus: Mikki thinks they're both idiots with too much time/energy on their hands and need to stop getting in trouble and causing her more work –she'll fight you for them though.

For some reason, that lyric in Amy Winehouse's "Just Friends" always plays in my head when I see this. Ah, a scene, an angst scene!

Here is post stardust crusaders Mikki and Jotaro, who are about 19. This is in Japan, Jotaro brings his girlfriend Marina to meet his parents. Mikki heard he was coming, and decided she'd finally he able to speak to him about her own feelings for him. What she didn't expect, was to see Jotaro with some girl, walking in the park holding hands. They were acting as a happy couple. Put simply, Mikki was heart broken. Watching the man she loved for 2 years and pinned for, fall for someone else.... she surely felt betrayed. But she couldn't deny the look on their faces, it was content. She'd seen Jotaro in some peace, that he really needed. Mikki knew it was best to leave him be and not reveal what she had felt for so long. She let her love go...
