Shinichiro is so unwell from what he'd had to live through during Original Timeline that I'm convinced that if it hadn't been Baji, he'd have gone into killing-mode again on August 13th

So today my glasses snapped in half and I had to get a rush appointment at a seedy shop that would take appointments. The exam was remote, with a monitor mounted by the ceiling informing me of the process and then showing me a commercial for how modern the system is. Then the system very glitchily crashed and I sat in the dark room while everything reset, and as usual, my mind turned to Katsura and how much he would hate this.

And I was blindsided by an image of him having to be physically removed from an optometrist. He hates every step of the process, hates machines and foreign technology, hates the stupid machine that flashes in your eye, hates the machine that blows air up your eyelid (and PTSD makes that extra fun) and he's already verbally abusive by the time they get to the pointlessly flicking the lenses and asking which one is better (they're the same)

And then at the end of it all, they have the nerve to tell him that all of this stupid, pointless machinery has the gal to say there's something wrong with him?! Wrong with his eyes that he's used since birth??? His eyes that could slice the wings off of a fly??!! He failed?????

And everyone who knows him are like, "Yeah that makes sense, have you noticed you can't recognize anyone at five feet? And that just makes him angrier, and how dare you talk about him like that?? Don't you know he was a gifted pupil? Who read??

And the irony here is that he was smart enough that when he couldn't see shit it didn't matter because he remembered everything he'd ever been told and he heard a lesson once and retained it and he compensated enough no one noticed, and let's face it, before the Amanto came it's highly unlikely he would get his eyes checked.

So he calls the whole thing a scam and storms out and refuses to get glasses and unleashes his fury on anyone who suggests he get a second opinion, and the matter is simply dropped. Gin knows, and he thinks it's kind of funny and it makes for good pranks and it's easier to steal his food. Everyone else has forgotten or doesn't care. His men notice he seems to identify people by voice and genuinely thinks his stealth techniques work because, hey, he can't tell the difference, but "no eye exams" is so thoroughly ingrained into his lessons that they just chalk it up as another of his unique quirks.

Elizabeth does NOT know, and if she did, she would probably try to drug him and have non-consensual Lasik preformed on him while he was asleep. (The eyes-open sleeping would help with this) because even Elizabeth does have limits to his bullshit sometimes.

Anyway, it will probably never come up again, but Zura-can't-see-and-aggressively-berates-anyone-who-tries-to-help-him-see headcanon has been accepted into my universe against my will.

I was sitting in my office scanning the first collector's edition of Destiny, the book that comes with it is going to be a beast, for DA and while I was waiting for the scans and flipping through the book ... I started tearing up. ... crying.

You have to know something about me. I grew up poor. Now I wasn't no food in the house or moving place to place poor, but I was the if it wasn't a special occasion, necessity or free we're not getting it. Also if they didn't approve of it

So I never really got to ... Collect things.

I had my little folders of things of art from magazines or things I traded for at school etc. A little goblin hoard. But nothing complete.

I watch things I wanted and loved go on by, promising I would get it once I was older.

And here I am older and I have a collection of something I love, and not just a mismatched of stuff. A full set.

Every CE that came out for Destiny I have.

And I'm crying

And it's not because it's Destiny, it's just because I didn't miss any of it. I didn't watch it slip through my fingers. It's in MY HANDS.

And now I can scan it and share it with others who might have missed out.

I'm just happy.

As for some of the other things little me promised to get when she was older, well it slow moving but she getting those too. One of the first thing big her got was the Halo Reach collectors edition with Dr. Hasley journal and it sets proudly on her shelf with her other things. Next is working on getting the W.I.T.C.H series.

I know it's just things, but they're my things.

My first day at work was good.

Then Klei put up the Kickstarter for the delightful puft plushie. Then they said maybe they'll make more ONI plushies if puft sells well.

Then it turned out they're starting the small plushies and. Meep. Hazard. Sal. Wikson. Oh my goodness I'm so happy. Perfect. And they can hold hands. And they would in fact like to make more. Please, I need the entire G.A.T., I need Smith, I need Rook, I need the ENTIRE DST cast. all of them, holding hands. Wear em like a neclace.

And the fucking Three Puft Planetoid shirt. That's such a good joke. Such a good design. When I put my pledge, my mom asked to get her a shirt as well. the stickers too. I'm just so overwhelmed with good things happening today.

And Maxwell's rework is in beta. Still waiting on that duelist AI fix, lol. But i can't wait to see his skins once the update goes live.

So after establishing Shinichiro's mental health depends on Mikey since he's his last family member he knew of before his life collapsed

He would've become a – the – influential organized crimes member of Japan; stopping only because he had to take care of Mikey. By doing so, canon happens, and Mikey finds himself, in every single future timeline (final timeline aside) as the most influential criminal of Japan. Everyone dies around him or he makes them leave, the same way OG Timeline Shinichiro seems to do (albeit to a lesser extent, but then, OG timeline Shinichiro wasn't the most influential criminal in Japan - he was even arguably a criminal). Shinichiro's last 4 years in the OG timeline were a living hell. Mikey's life is a living hell. Shinichiro saving Mikey's life was a selfish decision; a world where Mikey's alive is paradise, no matter what may happen. Except the hands of time and Karma don't work that way – and a world where everybody dies but Mikey isn't a paradise world for Mikey. He has to lose everyone so as to stay alive; and he isn't even the one who made the decision. Yet, he's the one paying the price

Shinichiro and Mikey's arc are very similar. And I wonder if the curse isn't Shinichiro's grief or something else. One thing is sure though, and that is that it's Shinichiro's. Whatever that thing might be (aside a metaphorical depiction of Mikey's mental health but ehhhhhh) it's Shinichiro's. It's his curse, and it's his love, and it's his choices, and it's his selfishness, and it's his grief and it's his pain and—

And everyone, mostly Mikey, have to suffer the consequences that should've fell on him.

I find it very ironic how Miguel calls Miles an anomaly (which, okay fine maybe he is but the full story isn't over yet so maybe there's more to it) but like

Compared to every single Spiderman we've seen so far in Spiderverse, HE'S the real odd one out??

He's not quippy and humorous, he's so serious to the point where it's almost comical, his power isn't the same, heck he wasn't even bitten by a spider like everyone else, his origin was that his DNA was spliced with a spider making him 50% spider. No one else we've seen in the story is Like That.

In almost every scene he stands out and is so DIFFERENT from the other spideys despite every one of them also being unique. He moves on all fours in fights/high stake situations, he has fangs, his fighting style just feels way more forceful and physical, even his general Spider design feels different because of the eyes.

Miles, despite 'never supposed to be Spiderman', fits the spidey criteria like everyone else. He's quippy, he puts importance in everyone's lives, his costume while having his own personality into it still feels like a Spiderman costume. And despite the plot of this movie, Miles still did lose a very important person in his life like every other Spiderman.

I don't know where I'm going with this but. It is an interesting choice having these 2 characters with all of these information about them and having Miguel be the antagonist to Miles' story

Another day, another log-in. The doors of Ramshackle open up once more to welcome their dear resident - their Yuu, their player.

Representatives from all dorms wait with bated breath, wondering who's going to get lucky and be allowed to give their welcoming speech this time. Some are confident, head held high and proud, words sitting at the tip of their tongue, ready to be spilled; others are anxious, fidgeting with parts of their uniform and checking themselves in a mirror - such an occasion requires one to look their best, all to make a good impression on you! And, after a few torturous seconds of waiting, spotlight lands on one of the many. Their face gleams under jealous stares of their disappointed schoolmates, a single bead of sweat rolling down the nape and bringing cool air to their skin. Everything has to be perfect for the player, and perfect it is - the words that have been rehearsed hundreds of time in the privacy of their room, the face expressions, the gestures - as they voice out wishes for another productive day and offer the log-in rewards.

To be chosen as a class partner is both a blessing and a curse. Rejoice those who have skills and smarts to demonstrate and brag about, poor are those who fall behind in studies. Leona suddenly finds a reason to skip out on a midday nap in favor of sitting out a history lesson, surprising both his classmates and Professor Trein. From time to time he even bothers to speak out, interrupting some poor kid - not like they'll do anything about it, a Kingscholar is not a force to be reckoned with; Azul and Riddle stare each other down, lifting hands at every question at the speed of light, completing tasks flawlessly, outshining everybody else with their vast knowledge to the point where teachers have to ignore them on purpose - after all, other students need their marks too... Though it doesn't stop the two from flaunting their exams results after finals roll around.

What do you mean "Twisted wonderland is not a romance visual novel"? Do they look like they care? Even the heaviest of Disney censor will not stop these boys from sneaking in a couple of flirty remarks. They WILL go against code if they have to. And if main story cannot be messed with, events are still a fair game, are they not? Watch Ace throw in bold pick-up lines and inquire about your type; it's the fifth time you're inviting him in the guest room, do you have a crush on him or something?? don't get shy now, of course he's just teasing! It's a shame that your choice of answers is so limited, the game brushes off his words way too easily...

And don't get me started at the Magic Mirror summons. To be selected as a member of the player's team is an honor like no other - that means their strength was recognized. Though some card combinations can be pretty... questionable. Placing, say, Leona and Malleus or Floyd and Riddle in one team would most likely result in a mess; be careful with your choice!

I love how in the Tmnt franchise it's always an indisputable fact that Splinter will always take care of the boys. Like he'll literally have his life turned completely upside down by being mutated into a rat and then he'll see these four infant mutated turtles and literally go-

"Babies?? Babies for me?? Babies for me to adopt and cherish and teach??? Yes???? Guess I'm a dad now."

And he just rolls with it, no questions asked he just becomes their dad and honestly it's quite sweet and wonderful when you think about it.
