GX tober Day 15: Jasmine Makurada and Mindy Hamaguchi!!

I’ve been looking forward to this one because I love these girls!! One of my favourite vocal performances by @lisacultjelly and Suzanne Goldish! I wish we got to see more of them!!

Today we’re back in the Idol AU!! And I love how this came out! These girls are in an idol trio with Alexis called Royal Blue!

Of course I didn’t add Alexis here because these two deserved their own moment in the spotlight!!

Tori deserves more love!!! Despite not being a duelist she’s the protag’s number one supporter!!! Heck she’s one of the only people who stands by his side WITHOUT DYING. I say she deserves the best friend role claim more than the actual character who has that title. Also she’s a cutie pootie that’s a fashionista! She is unironically a force to be reckoned with in Duel Links. Her introduction is her slaying fool after fool in her quest to hunt down Yuma and get back at him for ditching her. Heck even within just Zexal she doesn't take anyone's crap and was ready to fight the Barians (space demons) with a frying pan at one point. She's vastly underrated in my opinion. One time she said “all Yuma’s good for is eating food and crapping it out” completely out of pocket and I love her for that no other yugioh girl is doing it like her also I’m certain she beats out all other yugioh girls on Amount of Times The Yutagonist’s Name was Said and that has to count for something

Weeping because she deserves so much more than what the show gives her. She started off so cool and smart and now she does absolutely nothing and is treated like a stupid person. Anyways, she’s awesome because of the potential she has. Her deck is full of hacking and technology based dragons and it’s super rad

Yuamu is a girlboss, literally. She's the president of UTS and introduced as one of the smartest characters. Her two ace monsters are based on Blue Eyes and Red Eyes too which is epic.

So funny story

I have a Hatoful Boyfriend/Yugioh GX au that I made on the spot because I thought it’d be funny 

Then I actually started playing the game, and oh boy was I in for a ride

I bought the game a couple years back and never even made it through a full route because I wanted to play it with a now ex friend of mine, who quickly changed her mind after only playing for an hour and didn’t want to be a part of it anymore, for whatever reason

Fast forward a few years while managing to avoid any spoilers on the game, I started playing Hatoful Boyfriend again, and I thought it’d be funny to start assigning GX characters to birds they reminded us of

One thing led to another, and before long we couldn't look at mourning doves irl anymore without crying, so here are the takes we came up with for which boys would be which birds

(By the way, that Azami portrait isn’t official art, so you can look at the source here to check out the artist who drew it)

The only two birds of the main cast we could never figure out were Nanaki and Iwamine, who both felt weird to assign canon characters to, given one is your teacher/a romance option, and the other is... Doctor Iwamine.

If you’re wondering where Jaden is, I’m putting him under a read more for spoiler purposes.

It still hurts

The whole thing started with us naming the player character Jaden Yuki because of our in joke that Jaden’s a bird fucker because of Avian and Air Hummingbird, so in the beginning, when we knew nothing about this game beyond “Hehe date birds”, we thought it’d make things a lot funnier to pretend Jaden was just going around romancing birds

And then things got real fucking sad because our first route was Nageki/Bastion

And then things got even more fucking sad when we made it to the BBL route, and we have not been the same ever since

So yeah, Hatoful/GX! It was a journey alright.

I wasn't originally going to do any of the other girls, I didn't think I had it in me, but I wanted to do more of this art so bad and I felt bad leaving Alexis at Alfea by herself so here we are!

I even decided to not just draw Alexis with them but also revamp her Enchantix at the last minute because the other girls were totally outdoing her, especially in the wings department and we can't have that! I mean all I really did was reshape her wings and add a tiara but still lolol 🤭💕
