From the onset, the design objective was clear: construct a space reflecting the homeowner’s tastes — one of tranquility, artistry, and simplicity. Entering her abode, guests are enveloped in an ambiance of calm, a welcome reprieve from the relentless pace of her profession.

The beginning:

Let me start off with who I am:

My name is Michelle, I am in my mid 30′s, married with one adventurous son. I work full time as a Creative Learning Designer (Instructional Designer) with a good paycheck. I, with my husband, bought our first place 3 years ago, just before the little came along. We moved from a large apartment to a small apartment, and we had so much stuff with us to take. As we both love our pop culture, we have so much collectables, books, comics, games, video games, stuff toys, on top of this we also had a normal stuff, like our clothes, bedding, kitchen things, bathroom things, furniture, and again on top of all of this, our son was the firstborn in the family so we got so much baby things like, clothes, toys, books, towels, nappies, blankets, and other baby items that made me go.... what the...??!!! In the end, we didn’t use most the baby items.

After 3 years of living in our small apartment, I started to notice a few things: 1. Finding it hard to move around the place 2. Finding it hard to find the things I want 3. Finding it hard to put things away 4. Spending my weekends cleaning up (every. single. weekend!)

On top of all of this, I had noticed one thing from the last 3 years, I have been living paycheck to paycheck and having no clue where my money was going. I paid my bills on time, but I was always struggling to find the money when I need it for an emergency or when I need to buy something for some reason.

April of 2019, I decided to set myself up a budget and see if I stick to it, and figure out where the money is going.  

As of October of 2019, I have decided to take this to the next level and blog about my spending and living more. I decided to take control of my life, time, and energy that I have been wasting on spending money on useless items, cleaning up a house that is already full and wasting the time I have missing out on watching my son grow up.

Here is my new life story.....

Klostergasse Studio is a minimal architecture project located in Bregenz, Austria, designed by Bernardo Bader Architekten. The slender structure comprises four floors that are stacked one above the another. The spaces are organized across all floors with precisely equal proportions, but with varyingly large window openings to benefit from numerous views and positions of the sun. Each unit is designed to allow both working and living in the space.

Save the otters

I recently discovered that 12 out of 13 species of otters are either under threat or endangered so I did some research and here are some ways you can help the otters: 1.Volunteer or start a beach clean up. 2.Use nontoxic cleaning products (I'll have a post about that later) 3.Recycle whenever you can 4.Dispose of waste properly 5.Be mindful of the amount of water you use. 6.When buying things try to buy recyclable,sustainable and biodegradable products. 7.Don't litter or dispose of rubbish improperly. 8.Share this and help save the otters.
