Hiiii I came across your blog and was wondering if I could request a mirabel x fem! Reader where the reader is Antonio's Babysitter and the three go to a carnival and mirabel and the reader share Thier first kiss on the ferris wheel? Thanks!!❤❤
imperfectly perfect moments
fem!reader x mirabel fluff
summary: as antonio's babysitter and mirabel's best friend, you have grown very close to the madrigal family. now, on the day of encanto's yearly festival, you plan to deliver the most romantic speech to swoon mirabel. the only problem is the 3'10" excitable little boy you're babysitting.
warnings: none! reader is a little self-deprecating but that's all. :]
word count: 2371
a/n: i had lots of fun writing this :] very fluffy and sweet! i hope u enjoy, platypus! :D (also i hope it's not too obvious i've never been kissed before lmao)
Unlike many others in the village, you were quite close to the Madrigal family.
As Mirabel’s best friend and Antonio’s babysitter, it wasn’t out of the ordinary for you to spend time around the Casita. Long before the house fell, you offered to watch Antonio since everyone was often busy helping out in the village. What started as a small favor grew into a daily job, not that you disliked it. Antonio was such a sweet little boy that it was harder to dislike him than adore him. The job not only made you closer to Antonio but the entire family. Which was good considering your, um, predicament.
“Hey! Hey!”
You glanced up and quickly shielded your eyes from the bright sun. Mirabel ran towards you and flopped down onto the grass.
“So, every year Encanto has that huge festival, right?”
You nod, uncertain where she’s headed with this.
“I know your parents never let you go or anything, but, if we take Antonio with us we can pass it off as a babysitting job! Then you’d be able to see the parade and fireworks and cool festividades! I heard a rumor that Mateo is building a ferris wheel! Imagine how cool that would be! I’ve never seen one before- well, besides books I guess, but that’s not the same, usted tonta-!” Mirabel rambled, cutting off abruptly to gasp for air.
You laughed at her expression, but it wasn’t at all mocking. No, it was fond and very adoring. Mira was so pretty when she got excited. She had a spark in her eyes and waved her arms dramatically. She was grinning a big, stupid grin and it made you melt inside. When she was happy, it was like your entire world was doused in sunshine and a cool breeze.
“Alright, alright!” You laughed, grabbing Mirabel’s arm. “Breathe, Mira!
The two of you sat in silence. Mirabel was catching her breath, and meanwhile, you were just admiring her beauty. A little creepy? Eh, maybe to some, but Mirabel was like an angel on earth. It was hard not to admire her beauty and silly personality.
Mirabel turned her head and raised an eyebrow at you. Oops, you thought, more than a tad embarrassed.
You bumped your shoulder into hers and pulled her up from the grass.
“C’mon,” you said, “if we’re going to the festival I have to tell my familia of my babysitting job.”
Mirabel turned much more enthusiastic after that and was suddenly pulling you along the grass.
“Yes! Come on, come on! I’ve wanted to take you to the festival forever, vamos, vamos!”
☆
Barely a week later, the festival has finally arrived. And you had a plan.
You would buy tickets to the ferris wheel and confess all your feelings to Mirabel. It would be romantic and the view would be amazing from the top, looking down on all of the Encanto.
There was a slight problem with your plan. A 3’10” sized problem, that is.
Antonio gasped in excitement. “Oh my gosh, you can win a prize here! Look, look! That one looks like Tío Bruno’s rats!”
He quickly turned to Mirabel and stared up at her with wide, pleading eyes. “Pleeeeease, Mira? Can you help me win it?”
“Of course, Tonito!”
You stood to the side, watching the two of them attempt to toss rings onto empty milk bottles.
It wasn’t like you were trying to get rid of Antonio… okay, maybe you were. But, it’s not like you can confess your undying love for your best friend with a five-year-old wedged between the two of you! You had to think of a plan B and fast. It was nearing midnight and your familia would have your neck if you were even a minute past curfew.
Mirabel whooped in celebration as the shopkeeper handed her the hand-knitted rat, which she quickly passed to Antonio.
“I’m going to name him… Jorge!” he exclaimed.
“I think that’s a wonderful name,” you smiled at him gently. You frowned confusedly at Mirabel’s giggles, although they were very cute.
Mira waved you off, “Sorry, sorry, just- it’s something funny my Tío mentioned. It’s a very good name, buddy.”
Antonio smiled up at his older cousin and hugged Jorge the Rat tightly, spinning in a little circle. You and Mirabel both audibly cooed at him, making him blush.
“Aww, you’re so cute! Como una bebe!” You bent down and pinched his cheeks.
“Hey!” he protested, “I am 5 years old, not a baby.”
“Oh, you’ll always be a sweet little baby, Tonito.”
Antonio just mumbled into his knitted rat, seemingly embarrassed.
You heard a chuckle from behind you.
“Alright, alright, leave the poor kid alone.”
Antonio grinned. “Dolores!”
He raced towards Dolores and she greeted him with a warm embrace.
“Hola, hermano.”
“Hey, Dolores. Are you here with Mariano?” Mirabel asked.
Dolores shook her head. “He’s helping Mateo run the ferris wheel.”
She tilted her head. “You two should go on the ferris wheel, actually. It won’t be open for much longer.”
Yes. You thought. This was the perfect opportunity. It was almost as if Dolores knew of your plans.
Wait…
“What about Antonio? We can’t just leave him alone. I promised Pepa we’d look after him and not to mention, her parents would freak if they think we lied to them. I mean, we can’t just throw him onto you, Dol, ‘cause…”
You caught Dolores’ eye during Mirabel’s rambling and she subtly winked at you. Damn. Obviously, she had heard you. You recalled the nights you spend mumbling out the plan to yourself and blushed. Maybe you should have been more careful. Everyone in the village knows Dolores has never been the most trustworthy with secrets. You couldn’t find it in yourself to blame her, though. Even when she tattled on you for not finishing your chores. With all the information rattling around in her head, some secrets were bound to slip out.
Dolores just innocently laughed.
“Prima,” Dolores reassured. “don’t worry, I’m perfectly capable of watching him. You two deserve a break, anyways. You’ve watched the kid all night. Go.”
Mirabel smiled, although hesitantly. Before she could speak, you chimed in, “Alrighty! Thanks, Dolores- we, uh, gotta run! Bye!”
With that, you grabbed Mira’s hand and pulled her towards the ferris wheel. You’d thank Dolores properly later.
You quickly hopped into the long line for the ferris wheel and pulled Mirabel behind you. She shook her wrist out once you let go.
“Ow! ” she joked. “What was that for, huh?”
“Sorry,” you responded sheepishly, “I just really wanna ride the ferris wheel.”
Mirabel grinned. “Me too! I can’t wait to see what the Encanto looks like from that high up.”
“Couldn’t Isabela grow like, a palma de cera and show you? Those trees are huge. Like, almost 60 meters tall?”
“Well, uh yeah, but like- uhm,” she fumbled and blushed, which made you blush.
She was so beautiful. The curve of her face paired with the crinkles of her eyes when Mira smiled. Every quirk of her lips and curl in her hair. Her eyes, which were dark like the sweetest chocolate lake, resembled shimmering honey when exposed to the sun’s rays. She noticed every little stitch and threading in her clothes and infused an astronomical amount of love in every embroidery. In your eyes, she would always be a symbol of artistic perfection. Every line and color was painted by the most talented artist in all Columbia.
“Not all of us can be a smarty pants, miss. So zip it!”
She poked you in the chest, efficiently knocking you out of your state of admiration. You laughed and bumped her shoulder.
Tonight was the night. It had to be.
“Aaaand two tickets for the two of you! Enjoy the ride, ladies.”
“Gracias, Mateo!” Mirabel and you both chimed. You quickly raced to the seats in front of you and strapped in.
Mirabel was bouncing in her seat, unable to contain her excitement. It was frankly adorable and made you smile softly, but there was a rotten pit in your gut that wouldn’t disappear. Your anxiety concerning your confession had only grown the closer you became to the ferris wheel. At that moment, you felt like laughing, vomiting, and passing out all at once, which wouldn’t be very charming at all.
You nervously tapped your hand upon the bench you sat upon as your carriage ascended.
Deep breath in, hold, deep breath out, hold, repeat. Mierda , you look like a wreck.
You jumped as Mira’s warm hand rested on top of yours. She was looking into your face, lips puckered and eyebrows furrowed in concern.
“Are you ok, amiga? ” She whispered. Even in a tornado of worry, she looked more stunning than any girl you had ever seen.
Choking on a thick swallow, you opened your mouth. You planned to deliver a romantic speech that would swoop Mira off of her feet and see you in a whole new, loving light. But all your words, your poetic phrases, had left you. Now, your throat was dry and your hands shook weakly. Your eyes could best be described as moist and shiny as you kept your emotions at bay. Yet, the words wouldn’t come to you, no matter how much you begged them to flow through your brain and out of your mouth into Mirabel’s heart.
It looked like you would be doing this on your own. You were all alone, stranded without the assistance of Cupid's romantic intelligence or Aphrodite’s experience with alluring words.
“I… I have something I want to tell you.”
Your words seemed to be swallowed by the stars in the night sky above you. They seemed to coo and lean closer, aching to consume every awkward syllable that flew from your mouth. But this speech was for Mirabel. No longer would the midnight air sweep away every weak mumble and whisper you lost the confidence to. This was real.
Mirabel smiled, albeit a bit forced and worried. “Of course! You're, uhm, worrying me a bit though. Nothing bad happened, right?”
“Oh! No, no, not at all, don’t… worry.” You blushed and looked down to fiddle with your fingers.
“Listen, uh, Mira-” you inhaled sharply and prepared yourself for what’s to come. “you’re my best friend and I really don’t want that to change! You’re sweet and selfless and heck, you tried to save that candle even though Casita was crumbling! I don’t get how you can be so you and so… flawless.”
You didn’t dare to look up. You didn’t dare to tempt fate into leading you astray. You inhaled once more.
“I’m getting off track, but- point is, you're like the sun of Encanto. You sing and dance with the children, volunteer for every task, make clothes for whoever asks — heck, you made me this skirt!” You shook the soft fabric a little bit to emphasize your point.
Mirabel chuckled from beside you and she sounded very confused.
Just breathe, deep breaths, breathe.
“I like you!” You suddenly blurted out. Great, what a way to beat around the bush. “I mean, well, urhm, just- you’re so pretty and kind. You care so much about people and me and your family! I’ve never had that before. You make me feel pretty and bubbly- like I could take on the world, y’know? But I, uh, I like totally get it if you don’t feel the same because why, uhm- why would you? So I mean, I want to still be friends? I couldn’t keep it to myself and someone was going to end up telling you at some point or another. I’m sorry, you’re really pretty and kind and I thought that you-”
"Cariño.”
A soft, warm hand cupped your cheek, and when you looked up, Mirabel is right there. Her hand was holding yours and her face was mere centimeters away from yours. Her eyes stared straight into yours, loving and gentle. Her lips were parted in a shy smile and you became aware of how easy it would be to close that gap.
Your eyes flickered between her eyes and her lips, each aspect taking your breath away. Hesitantly, you lifted your free hand and settled it behind her ear, hidden in her curls. Unconsciously, you leaned forward, then looked into her eyes — her majestic, chocolate eclair tone eyes — and silently asked if this was alright.
She smiled in response, a simple, “Yes” and leaned in closer until you could feel her breath on your lips. It teased you, a large reminder of what was to, hopefully, come. You found you couldn’t wait any longer. With a simple breath (inhale, exhale, breathe), your lips met Mirabel’s, and your worlds clicked together. Like you had just found the missing piece of an old puzzle you longed to finish.
It wasn’t close to perfect, but the kiss was right. Your noses slid together perfectly and your hands stayed intertwined. She gently rubbed her thumb over the bumps and smoothness of your skin while you played with a curl that was twirled next to her ear. It was gentle and calm yet glowing and firey. Your lips gently moved in not-really-unison and everything felt right. Everything collided in a beautiful explosion.
You separated your lips from hers but stayed close. Your forehead rested on hers and Mira’s glasses awkwardly bumped between the two of you, releasing some giggles. You gently breathed out.
In, hold, out, hold, repeat.
Everything was right.
“Awww, we missed the view!”
On that note, you burst out laughing and tucked your head comfortably into Mirabel’s shoulder. She wrapped an arm around you and played with the frills on your blouse.
Things weren’t perfect, but they always had been. Imperfectly perfect. You loved that phrase. Maybe you and Mirabel would be imperfectly perfect at this new thing. But no matter how imperfect or perfect the two of you were, you always would have a hand to hold, a shoulder to lean on, and a loving face to kiss.
And that felt right.
When Mirabel kissed your head later that night, whispering how lucky she was to call you her girlfriend, you knew that was right.
i hope you enjoyed! my requests are open as of 02/10 if you'd like to request anything! just read my pinned first :] thanks for stopping by! ☆

sorry if im being annoying but could you do mirabel/isabela having a crush headcanons please? i absolutely loved your camilo ones so here i am :,) tysm!!
You’re fine! I’m loving the questions.
Mirabel first:
Our girl is very sweet.
She probably would also be super shy.
Like if a relative doesn’t wing person for her, it’s probably not going anywhere.
Camilo and Luisa are on the ball when it comes to helping her out.
Plays with her glasses a lot.
Will try to initiate something if she’s been hyped up a bunch by Camilo and Luisa.
The Agustin side of her blood line may nerf her efforts though
Next up Isabella
One positive of being told that she was wonderful regularly.
She knows she’s good enough for them.
She even enjoys the chase
All that time repressing makes her very aware of what she wants
And when she wants it.
Does sometimes want a little hyping though.
Luisa to the rescue.

I've been with this in my head for a while but I'm not good at writing so
Could you please make a Mirabel and painter reader, but they don't have a relationship yet, that likes to draw her doing random things around the day? I enjoy a lot your writing!
Thank you!
“I can’t be that interesting.” Mirabel said, looking over at where you had perched, notebook out, painting away frantically.
“There’s a really… fun energy and flow to your movements.” You said pausing for a moment to pick the right word.
“Uh huh.” She said, smirking at you
“Just hold that face right there, I feel like I can never get that smirk right.” She did exactly the opposite of what you said, instead giving you a slightly incredulous look.
“I’ve seen your drawings, it’s a little like looking in a mirror that’s smaller and wet.”
“Please, just humor me.” She smirked, but you could tell the emotion wasn’t behind it anymore. “Drat.” You muttered as you smudged wrong under her cheek bone.
“What’s wrong?” She asked, looking over your shoulder.
“Your cheek looks too sharp. Like you’re emaciated.”
“Or doing this.” She sucked her cheeks in doing a guppy face.
“Oh I’m so painting that.”
“Don’t you dare!”
“Why not, it’s cute!” You protested.
“Because I said.”
“Ugh fine.” You said a little dramatically. She sat down so you were hip to hip.
“Seriously though, why don’t you draw Señora Princessa perfecta, or Dolores?”
“Cause you’re more fun. You run and jump and climb and there’s a frantic energy to all of it.” You said, the admiration creeping into your voice. She blushed and pushed your arm slightly.
“Well then, I’m happy to keep modeling for you.”

Hello! Can I request a fic in which Mirabel and the reader are mutually smitten but believe the other has no interest and it's slowly driving everyone else crazy? It escalates to the point where Bruno snaps, stops hiding and gives them a tablet vision of their wedding
Alright!
You and Mirabel had been friends for years. You loved her sarcasm and her deep passion for all things. As you grew up, the feelings of friendship started to develop into something more. However, you were both a bit clueless when it came to each other.
You skipped together, and in hand one day. You tripped and accidentally drug her down to the grass. Mirabel gasped as she landed on top of you. You both giggled, faces a hair’s breath away. You got off her. And jumped as you heard a disgusted groan. Camilo stood off to the side, looking completely annoyed with you both. You blinked, and he shook his head before stomping off.
Another day, you helped her hang pennants for a festival. She stood on the ladder, and you handed the pennant up. She tried to take a step back to admire her work, however there was no step behind her. She squeaked, falling backwards safely into your arms. She touched your face softly. You smiled softly before setting her down. Mirabel looked hard over your shoulder. You spun and saw Luisa rubbing a hand her face in irritation.
Three days passed, and you danced together in the square as the local band played. You spun together in harmony. You came to a stop as the music faded, facing one another. You breathed together before you both blushed and went to step away.
“THATS IT!” Tio Bruno yelled from the side. You both looked at him in shock. He stomped forward, shoving a vision tablet into Mirabel’s chest. She took a step back and looked at it closely. She stood dumbstruck for a moment before tears welled in her eyes.
“Mira?” You asked softly. She turned the tablet to show you. In green, you stood with Mirabel, wearing clothes neither of you owned at that point. You were locked in each other’s arms, a desperate and passionate kiss central to the tablet. You locked eyes and you rushed forward, wrapping your arms around her and kissing her fiercely. She gasped before kissing you back hard.

kskskskskks another mirabel request, but could you write about y/n and mirabel baking together? i think it would be cute 😳😳😳
That would be adorable!
You were pretty sure you had the most creative girlfriend ever. Mirabel was always coming up with the most entertaining and interactive dates ever. Todays idea was baking. You both had shooed Julietta out of the kitchen, barring someone being injured.
“What are we baking?” You asked, finding an apron on the rack as Mirabel scanned the box of recipes.
“Hmmmm, aaaaaaaaaa CAKE!” She declared, snatching a card from the box.
“What flavor?” You asked, offering her an apron. She took it with a smile, kissing your cheek as she walked past.
“Dulce de lece!” She chirped as she grabbed the bowls and pans with Cassita’s help.
“My favorite!” You exclaimed. She guided you through the basics of baking, as you knew next to nothing. Mirabel was incredibly patient soon you had the appearance of a cake in the oven. You perched on the the counter together, fingers interlocked as you waited for it to bake.
“This is an excellent idea.” You said, picking up one of her hands to kiss it.
“You really think so?” She asked.
“Yes, you are wonderful, therefore, your ideas are wonderful.” She giggled and brushed some flour off your nose before kissing it.
“Oh y/n!” Mirabel’s voice sounded around the corner.
“We’re busy Camilo!” You yelled back. You heard grumbling as he stalked off. Mirabel laughed and put an arm around you.
“We should make the topping.” She said, you nodded and hopped down, holding out your hands to her to help her down. She jumped forward into your arms with no hesitation. You caught her, brought her in for a kiss, and set her down.
“Tell me what to do.” You said.
In between topping making you had miniature dance breaks. You whirled her around the kitchen, sending flour flying off your clothes. Eventually you had a whole cake, you looked at each other.
“What now?” You asked.
“Stay for dinner?”
“I’d love to.

hiya!! i saw that you did dating headcanons for camilo, and i was wondering if you could do some for mirabel? tysm!!
Absolutely! Dating Mirabel would look like:
She tries so hard to be the best girlfriend ever.
Adventures and creative outings for days
Bonus points if you praise her freely for every idea she has. The girl needs some validation.
Her gift game is on point.
She pays so much attention to what you need and want
If you even get in the ball park of a thing she wants or needs, she will be over joyed that someone was paying attention
