Today on AUs that I will never finish and that it's very self indulgent: Stardust AU
Basically I made Marinette into the star because I really really really like to think of her hair as the night sky. I really think I went off with the stars
I also thought it would be silly if Adrien was a unknown heir from a magical kingdom. Brb gotta invent 7 OC uncles for Adrien

Some concepts for my au!!
Lila if she unified all the miraculous and became like a monster abomination as her body slowly started to die as a grand attempt to destroy the miraculous and Paris in the process
And Marinette who unifies the cat and ladybug miraculous to stop her!!
I don’t have names for these forms yet so suggestions are appreciated! :D

More Scarlet Warlock Stuff/Sabrina The Teenage Witch AU
(You know, the campy early 2000s version)
Everything in the world of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir is the same, except Nathaniel is 1/64th warlock on his late father, Maison's side
No one... Except maybe Alix knows he's a warlock
Along with Akumas and Amoks, there are supernatural threats from the magical world plaguing Paris that Nathaniel often takes care of with his magic
When he died, Maison left behind his familiar, a hand-sized goat named Stardust (Bragging rights go to whoever can guess where I got the name)
Like all familiars in the Magic Realm, Stardust is a sentient magical totem that sits atop a witch or warlock's magic staff. They can also switch between a wooden totem and a living form. (... Yeah, that's right. I like Owl House)
Stardust immediately bonded with Nathaniel after Maison's passing and often headbutts his leg when he returns from school
There's also a warlock named Klaus who was cursed by Maison and turned into a rooster for all eternity after he tried to take over the world three times. Aya often threatens to turn him into nuggets when he smartmouths her
His classmates have no idea that Nathaniel's a warlock, but they do notice strange things happening around him
Nathaniel: Later, Kim. *His locker door closes without him touching it, and he leaves*
Kim: ... What the hell?!
Juleka: … Are you a witch?
Nathaniel: Nope. *Thinking* ‘It’s not technically a lie; I’m a warlock.’
Alya: Hey, Nath, would you mind- ARE YOUR EYES GLOWING?!
Nathaniel: *His eyes stop glowing* No, they’re not.
Alya: They definitely were!
Nathaniel: Then, you just need new glasses.
Chloé and Louis are always trying to prove how "weird" Nath is, but he's always one step ahead of them, usually cursing them for a few days until they eventually back off
He keeps his wand in his boot… Also, he wears boots now
There’s just a lot of magical stuff lying around the house, a Wishing Rod, a Spooky Jar, a Magic Typewriter that types what you think, a collapsible cauldron (perfect for traveling), a halo that lets you spot demons and imps, a few magic amulets, a magic sketchbook that makes whatever you draw come to life, memory leeches, and a hammer space bag
There’s also a talking newt in the basement
Aya’s always fighting at least one strange creature in the kitchen, like a tentacle that just shot out from the sink drain
Aya: Wanna go, you hentai motherfucker?! Let’s fucking go! *Proceeds to hit the tentacle with a wooden spoon*
Nathaniel: *Walks in the kitchen* Hey, mom? Have you seen my backpack?
Aya: By the door, sweetie.
Nathaniel: Thanks. Oh, and there’s some repellent in the cabinet to your right.
Aya: Thanks, dear!

20 Questions For Fic Writers
Tagged by @rngaredead :)
For simplicity's sake I'm going to go with just my biDEMONium/trentcrimminallybeautiful ao3 and not try to combine it with my thesorrowoflizards one (why do i have more than one? because i was, among other things, an idiot who didn't know how pseuds worked next question) even though that would probably double some of these numbers lkfjgh
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
Again, just on this account? 171 (some of those are oneshot compilations though)
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
661,851 for now
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Ted Lasso, The Mysterious Benedict Society, The House on the Cerulean Sea, House MD, Death by Dying, Instinct, King Falls AM. Also, sort of Gravity Falls. Mostly those first two though, tbh. This one I think I will include other fandoms I've written and posted for on other accounts because it's fun and less about math. So also Shadowhunters, The Librarians, The Mentalist, The Dresden Files (TV), Roswell New Mexico, The Sandman, Star Trek, Professor Layton, Sanders Sides, Miraculous Ladybug, and sort of The Legend of Zelda. Also see, for unposted or posted a very long time ago and no longer something I would willingly share, Supernatural, Dirk Gently (both 2016 and 2010), Doctor Who, Warehouse 13, SurrealEstate, Person of Interest, Haven, Leverage, Bones. Psych, and probably more
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Ted Lasso Kisses Trent Crimm On The Mouth (Trent/Ted - 1,157 kudos)
semaphore (Trent/Ted; Trent & Colin - 997 kudos)
off the handle (Trent/Ted - 736 kudos)
linger (Trent/Ted - 709 kudos)
a preacher, a bikini, and a kiss or two (Trent/Ted; Diamond Dogs - 673 kudos)
5. Do you respond to comments?
I try to but I always get really busy/tired and then it's been so long it feels like it would be weird if I did. Plus, sometimes my answers by nature of the comments can get repetitive and then even though I'm being sincere I feel insincere which sucks. However, if a comment has a direct question or something I actually have like, something unique to say about, I'm much more likely to respond sooner rather than later/never. I appreciate every single comment soooo much though literally my motivation to get through the day like 80 percent of the time
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I'm going to stick with Ted Lasso fics here since I have so many fics posted and this is my Ted Lasso sideblog and say... well, most of the time I have a bittersweet ending and then some sort of hopeful epilogue (such as with ink sunset and make a mess of you) but I guess betrayal's sting / absolution's balm or something to get off my chest may qualify?
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Uhhh, honestly, most of them are happy endings. I think trick & treat and matters of the heart end on particularly high notes?
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not in this fandom! Yet
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Oh, yeah, baby. So much. Not sure what "kind" means in this context. It sure is explicit smut. I have tended almost exclusively towards hot transgender sex the last few years because. yknow. hi. but somehow I don't think that's the intention in the question.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I do, but I haven't posted a lot. Only one on this account (a Gravity Falls x The Mysterious Benedict Society crossover that started as a joke because of a shared actress) although I had an interesting Shadowhunters x The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess fusion on my other account. I've written some pretty weird WIPs, though. And I've got some posts about Ted Lasso crossover/AUs, like a Sarah Jane Adventures AU, a Pushing Daisies AU, a Stardust AU... You can find that kind of thing in this tag on my blog.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Yes. Not in this fandom, though, as far as I'm aware.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes! Again, not in this fandom, though.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Not really.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
Oh, man, I don't know if I can decide. Magnus/Alec (TV version only I'll die on this hill) will always hold a special place in my heart, but I've got other "obsessed with this when I was a kid" ships and also recency bias/current hyperfixation means Trent/Ted screams as an immediate answer, and so on and so forth. I'm bad at picking favorites. Overall, I'd probably say one of those two, or both.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Sticking to Ted Lasso again (I have. so many MBS WIPs. god.) I'd say lost sight of (who you are) (lost motivation, want to finish, fuck!!) or sweeter than heaven (hotter than hell) (got mad at it), or!! oh!!! ink sunset (stuck) and possibly the next installment of matters of the heart. Yeah, I have a problem
16. What are your writing strengths?
I think I'm pretty good at being funny and also at eloquent but perhaps a little too verbose metaphors. I love me an elaborate metaphor
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
It's hard for me to focus and get what I have in my head out sometimes, even when I really want to. Whether it's being unable to organize or just my brain flat-out refusing to cooperate and do anything. Also, I'm way too like. easily discouraged with lack of feedback, and even a little negative feedback can kind of ruin my week and make me never wanna go back to that story ever again.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I just realized. The questions seemed familiar but I wasn't sure why and now I know, now that I've gotten to this question. I have done this game before and I remember bc of this question. I was confused bc it was under a different name, I think the questions were in a different order, and it was sometimes slightly differently worded but nope! This is the same one! Weird Anyway, just for this particular question, I'm going to copy-paste my old answer because I'm lazy. I’m extremely bad at linguistics in general, so if I must include someone talking in another language in my fic, I think I’d tend to cheat and do italics or some other indication that this is ‘in another language’ (ie “Where are you going?” she asked in Russian), but that’s admittedly a lazy approach. But I also think it’s probably better than butchering it with an auto-translator? Also, when people just include the translation in the end notes, even with a link (although that makes it marginally better) it breaks the flow of the story and makes it hard to read. Making an effort to at least match grammar is good (which I would do if it was for longer than a single scene, probably) but I think the best solution is when people know what they’re doing and like, have an actual translation with a little html code so you can click on it and it reveals what it means? Or if you’re clever, revealing what it means using context around it, but that has its own limitations. So that both like, uses the actual language and doesn’t break up the flow. It balances accessibility, flow, and respect for the other language in question well. But you’ve got to both know what you’re doing with the language (either asking someone/hiring someone/knowing the language yourself) and the html (although there are guides for that you’d have to spend time figuring it out + know it exists in the first place to look). And this is fanfiction, something we ultimately do for free in our spare time, so the lazy approach, I think, can be understandable. Maybe not in every context, but it’s not worth stressing a lot over in a few random lines or anything, you know? It is really cool when people do know a language well enough to include it properly in a fic, though, it can say a lot about a character or dynamic; and their background(s) and like. it’s neat :)
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Ever? Doctor Who. And I don't remember the order, but after that I know I wrote some stuff about Star Trek (mostly TNG but I believe also TOS), Supernatural, A:LTA, Marvel, WTNV, and the Stanley Parable? I think I first posted either Supernatural or WTNV
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
I have no idea. Some of my top ones (for Ted Lasso again) would be matters of the heart and trick & treat I suppose?
Tagging: whoever wants to do this man, I probably tagged everyone I'd normally tag last time so if you see this and you wanna do it, go ahead and tag me and do it!

I've written fanfic for a while, across multiple fandoms, so I feel like I've gone through all the milestones. Stilted dialogue, Mary Sues, plotholes...What I haven't dealt with was having AUs for my own story.
The Dragon That Will Pierce The Heavens is the longest story I've written in a long while, and add in that One Piece is the largest sandbox I've ever played in, it kinda just...happened.
A few of those AUs and crossovers have been started but generally discarded, like Miraculous Dragon (basically a Miraculous Ladybug crossover), or one shots just to get the itch out, like in Moonbeams and Stardust, where I did chapters for Pokemon, Digimon Adventure, Harry Potter and even a modern chapter.
Lately, I've even been collaborating with ReynaAtTheEnd to do a collaboration with her amazing story Summit Apocalypse, which will hopefully see the light of day at some point.
But there are definitely divergent ideas I've had that are too big for me to write, and those are the ones that gnaw at me.
For example...
What if Hikari never escaped Estrella to the East Blue?
What if, when she was about to go over the coral, something happened with the other boat and she had to give up her chance in order to make sure they escaped? Leaving Hikari to be captured and shipped off to Dressrosa, where Doflamingo happily threw a lavish wedding to celebrate finally getting the queen he believed he deserved.
Over the course of two years, Doflamingo believing he broke Hikari down into the perfect doll, not knowing she was secretly coordinating the Tontatta and toys and gladiators to overthrow him.
Then Law and the Straw Hats show up with their own plans, throwing Dressrosa into chaos, and Law ends up chained to the Heart Seat, where he meets the infamous Ice Queen that acts as Doflamingo's most valuable council...Only to learn, much to his surprise, that Hikari has been undermining the Donquixote Pirates the entire time as she frees him from the Sea Prism Stone cuffs.
Having followed the Straw Hats since their assault on Enies Lobby, Hikari knows to just point Luffy in the right direction and let him rip, revealing her Celestial Dragon powers to tag-team Doflamingo with Law while Luffy deals personally with Bellamy before taking over.
In the end, once Doflamingo has been defeated and everyone bandaged up, Hikari is ready to leave on her own when Luffy obliviously offers for her to join his crew instead of be alone.
(Law may be a little jealous he didn't ask fast enough.)
Or...
What if, at the end, Hikari is mentally sent back in time to make things right?
If things ended badly, a la of pop greens and tangerines (which I started and never finished, seriously great but broke me), Hikari regretted leading her loved ones into such a bloody fate and is thus sent back to when she was eight years old.
With Lily to think of, and knowing that her crew and allies are currently suffering through their childhood trauma, Hikari pulls the trigger on her plan a decade early, escaping with the slaves to Fishman Island...Where she meets JInbei, and tells him she's looking for the man that her mother's locket names Eddy. Jinbei, recognizing said locket and seeing her resemblance to a lost friend, then takes her to Whitebeard, who is devastated to learn his love is dead but accepts her daughter with open arms.
Hikari tells him about Rosinante, that he had tried to help her but is in danger saving another child, and they need to go save both of them. So Whitebeard goes with Marco and a whole ship of his men to Minion Island, where he gladly stomps Doflamingo's face into the ground for daring to think he could just buy his precious daughter with favors, and taking in a very confused Rosinante and wary Law, who remembers his 'past' life once Hikari hugs him in tears over seeing him dying from Amber Lead.
Using her memories of stories told by her crew, Hikari carefully leads Whitebeard around to gather the entire gaggle of children that would one day become the Supernova Alliance and their various family and/or friends like Kaya and Nojiko, with Luffy, Zoro and Kid all getting their memories back after Hikari touches them.
No one else ever seems to remember, but Whitebeard and his commanders catch on and get Hikari to tell them the truth, including about Fairy Tail and Luffy's Fruit. That's when the training starts in earnest, only interrupted by visits from Shanks (who was worried about Luffy and then blubbering over meeting his 'baby sister') and Garp (who initially got into a knock-out, drag-out fight with Whitebeard until Hikari disabuses him of the notion his grandsons would be safe as Marines) and even Sengoku (who comes off-duty just to make sure Rosinante is okay and meet his 'grandson').
Luffy decides to set out from Dawn Island as originally planned, and everything is different.

Marinette with the Goat Miraculous!
The Miraculous is two "hairclips" which change shape to horns when she transforms.
The swirls on the suit are meant to imitate goat horns.
The suit design changed quite a bit over time ^^

Stardust - A Preview
This is a chunk of a fic I’m working on. I’m sorting through the timeline and stuff, but I just really wanted to write this scene.
Adrien sat upon the railing, one leg dangling outside the ship. Despite the engine failure, the day was lovely. The stars glittered brightly in their galaxies, all of which were vast and unfiltered through an atmosphere. It was just pure space.
“Prince Adrien, have you finished your lessons for the day?” Nathalie asked, dutifully.
He hadn’t. But he needed a break. “Yes, of course Nathalie. Thank you.”
She nodded once, and opted to leave him alone.
Marinette surfaced from the bowels of the ship. The engine was coming along great, and her expertise was spent. Now it was up to Max and Ivan to figure the rest out.
She wiped her grease-stained face with a cloth, and caught sight of the Prince sitting on the railing. He looked peaceful for once. Not so rigid. She tried not to stare, but her heart wanted more.
If only she could talk to him!
Suddenly, the ship gave a violent lurch as the engine sputtered.
Marinette nearly fell over, but pinwheeled her arms to stay on her feet.
She did, however, hear a shriek, and when she looked up, the Prince was gone.
“MAN OVERBOARD!” She shouted, running for the rope coil in the corner.
As familiar as she was with the ship, she knew a few vital things about space. There were two zones outside of the ship. The habitable zone, uninhabitable zone, and then certain death. The habitable zone extended about a hundred feet on all sides of the ship. It had heat, oxygen, and gravity. The uninhabitable zone was two hundred feet after, and just contained heat. To go any farther than that required a space suit, or you would freeze or suffocate in under a minute.
Marinette knew where the space suit was, and how to hook it up. But as she had told Caline over and over again, it would take too long to prepare, and Adrien would die before they even got off the ship.
So in only a few heartbeats, Marinette had snatched up the rope, tied off a perfect two half hitch on the railing, and tied the other end around her waist.
Then she leapt off the edge.
She fell straight down first, moving with the gravity of the habitable zone. But she quickly spotted the Prince floating away, paddling his arms to slow his descent.
Then she hit the next zone, and he looked like he was running out of air.
She kicked and swiped, doing her best to propel forward in nothing. But he was getting closer.
Then the zone ended for him and his body curled up as every muscle in his body began to freeze. Still, he tried to reach for her.
Marinette reached the end of the zone. Space itself embraced her with its bony touch. Her ears hurt, her lungs pulsed hotly, and her eyes felt like they were freezing over. But she didn’t stop. She couldn’t stop. She kicked and paddled, as hard and far as she could.
Then she had his wrist. He looked at her with half closed eyes and tried to move closer.
But she beat him to it. She yanked him into her embrace, tucking him under her chin and wrapping her arms and legs around him. He returned the hug, hanging on with every bit of strength he could muster before freezing into place.
If this was how she died, she didn’t mind. Trying to save a royal Prince, a good man. It was an honorable death, and at least she got to hug him once.
And then it was warm. They were back in the second zone! They were being pulled in! But she had yet to thaw, and she couldn’t move.
Soon, she was able to take a tiny breath, rattling her frozen, sore lungs, and she swore she heard Adrien do it too.
Then the wooden surface of the deck was under her.
“Oh poor Adrikins!” Chloe shrieked as she grabbed Marinette’s arm and pulled, trying to get her to let go.
“Don’t touch them!” Caline screamed. “They’ve frozen! Move!”
Marinette felt warm hands on her neck and face.
“They’re both alive, but they spent too long out in the open! They need to be warmed slowly and jostled as little as possible.”
“The Prince’s room has a fireplace,” said Tom. “I’ll carry them there.”
Marinette felt her father’s huge arms envelope both of them before they started to move. Her vision was blurry still, but she recognized that they were moving from the bright exterior, to the low lit cabins.
She was set upon a bed, and blankets were piled on.
“P-Papa?” She shivered out, everything hurting.
“Shh my little gingersnap. You did so so good. Everything is going to be alright. Just rest.”
She didn’t know how she was supposed to do that when she was so cold. She wasn’t even shivering, which was terrifying.
What about Adrien? Was he conscious? Was he freaking out like her?
The whole mattress slid off of the bed frame and scooted over to be closer to the fireplace, where Sabine worked to get the fire started.
“Is he going to be alright?” Asked the Duke.
Rose, the medic, answered. “As long as we thaw them slowly, his highness should be alright. He may have some lingering symptoms in the coming days, like chills, fever, coughing and sneezing, but with rest and warm fluids, they’ll move quickly.”
The ship gave another lurch as the engine started up. The movement was gradual, but they were on course again.
The Duke sighed with relief. “Well, that’s one less thing to worry about. I feared we’d lose a whole day of travel.” He laid a hand in his son’s head, almost tender. “You can rest peacefully, Prince Adrien. The journey is going on smoothly.”
A shiver ran down Marinette’s spine, and breathing came a little easier. The warmth of the fire seemed to be seeping into their skin.
“Now, all we can do is wait,” Rose determined. “I think they could use some privacy.”
“We’ll be back to check on you soon, darling,” Sabine promised with a kiss to the head.
The door closed, and all that could be heard was steady breathing, and the crackle of the fire.
Marinette's face rested solidly on the crown of Adrien’s head. His hair smelled really nice, and it was silky soft.
He was nice. One of her biggest fears when they were told they were escorting the crown Prince across the stars was that he was going to be stuck up and cruel, like Chloe. But Prince Adrien had gone out of his way to make sure his presence wasn’t an inconvenience. He was forgiving and constantly gave the crew second chances when they made mistakes. Much to the chagrin of the Duke. There was no doubt in her mind that he was going to be a great king.
He would leave in a few months, and probably forget all about the Powder Monkey. Did he even know her name?
Adrien finally felt relaxed. Falling off the side of the ship was absolutely horrifying, and his life had flashed before his eyes.
And then she was falling after him, hand outstretched. She had leapt to save him with nothing but a rope to protect her. She risked her life in the vacuum of space, for him.
And he didn’t even know her name.
As he shifted, ever so slightly so as not to disturb her, he took stock of his body. Nothing hurt, he felt like he could move if he wanted to.
But he didn’t want to. He liked being held like this. Even if she was a stranger. There was something so nice about human touch that was impossible to get any other way. And it wasn’t until now that he realized he was starving for it.
Just to be courteous, and make her aware of the fact that he was able to move, he squeezed her tightly, inhaling on her collarbone sharply.
Her response was to squeeze him back and offer up a sigh. Ah, so this was mutual then. They could both move, both pull away, but they didn’t want to. And they just weren’t going to acknowledge that yet.
The whole ordeal left Adrien drained, and listening to his savior’s heartbeat was lulling him into rest.
People came back into the room, though neither could tell how much time had passed.
“Your Highness?” Sabine asked, “how are you feeling?”
Adrien peered up at the woman, and spoke softly. “Much better, thank you.”
“Honey? Can you move? Can you let His Highness up?”
Marinette let go of him, much to his disappointment, and sat up. She stretched her arms out and immediately cried out and held her arm. “Ugh!”
“Oh dear, that’s the arm Chloe pulled while it was still frozen. You probably have some torn muscles.”
“I can’t have an injury! How will I do my work?!”
“Just do what you can. I know Kim will pick up the extra slack.”
She looked horribly forlorn, and Adrien couldn’t stand it. Quickly, he grabbed her good wrist. “Miss?”
She looked at him, wide eyed.
“Thank you for saving me.”
She smiled back, curling her hand over to hold his wrist back. “It wasn’t any trouble, Your Highness.”
“It looks like it was some trouble,” he said woefully.
“Just enough to keep things exciting.” She grinned.
“Come along, dear. Let’s have the medics look at that arm.” Sabine urged her daughter out of the room, and left Adrien in silence.
Without her, the bed was colder. He was lonelier than he had been before.
And he still didn’t know her name.

I decided I should go on with my Stardust-AU. Plot, anybody? This is a bad-end-AU where HawkMoth wins and imprisons Master Fu. Gladly, old man throws the miraculous box away, so random people and passers by get miraculouses and become heroes. As the amount of villains increases, all heroes pair up into duos (like Ladybug and Chat Noir). Queen Bee is paired with a strange guy who calls himself Stardust and refuses to call her Queen Bee (only Blondie). He always teases her and tries to flirt, and despite Chloe saying she has a boyfriend, he still tries to reach her. I like to think about how Chloe doesn't realise that Luka is right in front of her (and he knows her identity). Age-Up, btw.

Fly Away
Episode 6: Riposte
Ao3 - First - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5
(Féline Sombre & Paon Lilas designs)
Summery: An AU where Adrien never went to in-person school, not getting the cat miraculous, and found the peacock miraculous. - Marinette and Sabrina try out for D’Argencourt’s fencing academy, and a mysterious person challenges Adrien for a spot in the academy.
-
“You've been reviewing the fencing rules all weekend, it's going to be great!” Tiki exclaimed cheerfully. Marinette smiled and nodded.
“Oh! Marinette!” Sabrina waved cheerily, holding her fencing helmet under her arm. Tiki squeaked and hid in a fencing helmet as the other teen ran up to Marinette.
“Hi? Sabrina?” Marinette said slowly, looking around the room, “...Is Chloé here?”
They nodded, “Yep! She’s going to be watching!”
Marinette grimaced. Great, now she had to worry about Chloé judging her too. She shook her head, “I… didn’t know you were interested in fencing?”
“I thought it’d go well with my self defense training. It should be fun too! For lots of reasons! Chloé and I roleplay as superheroes sometimes... Well, actually, Chloé’s always Ladybug-” Marinette made a face, but Sabrina didn’t comment on it, “and I used to play the villains. But now that Paon Lilas showed up, I finally have a superhero to play as! …. Anyway, while I researched the sport, I noticed much of his combat style is informed by fencing-” she shifted into a fencing stance, making a few combat poses (which did in fact, remind Marinette of Paon Lilas), “You can tell by the way he moves.”
“You roleplay as… Paon Lilas? Why?” Marinette frowned, crossing her arms, “What about Féline Sombre? They’re cool.”
Sabrina straightened their posture, smiling almost nervously, “...You think Féline Sombre’s cool?” she shook her head, “I, uh, do too... but... I uh- I... Paon Lilas matches my color scheme! Blue and purple!”
Marinette sighed, “Of course… Well, good luck Sabrina-” She grabbed a fencing helmet, and dropped it on her head. Marinette yelped, stumbling back, noticing something inside the helmet. Tiki stared at her from inside with wide eyes. After the initial shock, the kwami had to cover her mouth to contain her giggle.
“...You okay Marinette?” Sabrina asked.
She gave Tiki a glance and took the helmet back off to allow Tiki to subtly hide in a better spot. “Yep. Yep, don’t mind me, just- thought a loose hair was a spider for a second…” she pointedly brushed some of her hair away from her face and grinned awkwardly. She ran from the room to get in place with the rest of the prospective students.
-
“I am the fencing master, Mr. D'Argencourt. Instead of the estimated one open spot, we have two, due to an… unexpected drop out…. The coward,”  Mr. D’Argencourt said, flourishing his saber, “So, in order to select the best possible candidates, I will observe the beginners performing a number of attacks on the experienced students,” he gestured to the group of the current students, “Get into position!”
Marinette squeaked as one of the students walked towards her, “Actually, maybe I’m not cut out for this…”
“If you’re worried about why Landon dropped out, it’s because of the akuma attacks, not because of the classes. He and his mom are moving out of Paris,” the fencer explained.
“Oh thank goodness- Oh well, I mean, not for Landon because that must be hard- I- It’s just- I mean, the akumas certainly aren’t great- ” Marinette sputtered. She sighed, and offered her hand, “I’m Marinette.”
The fencer raised his helmet. Adrien smiled, “I know. It’s nice to see you here.”
“Wh-” Marinette’s brows furrowed, “Wait, weren’t you sick? Why are you doing sports?”
He blushed a little and rubbed the back of his neck, “I’ve been feeling better since last week. And, uh, skipping class… wasn’t an option. Don’t worry, I talked to Mr. D’Argencourt beforehand. If I ever raise both of my hands in surrender, it’s because I got dizzy or something, and we’ll stop. He’ll get you rotated with a different partner.”
Marinette nodded firmly, “As long as you’re being safe.”
“Get into position!” D’Argencourt commanded.
Adrien smiled at her and dropped his helmet back over his face. With a quick instruction on her form, Adrien stepped back into his side of the strip, waiting for Marinette to get a hang of what she was doing. They fenced for a while as Adrien explained how saber fencing worked. Eventually, he regretfully had to request a time out.
Marinette pushed her helmet up, “You feeling okay?”
He nodded, pushing his own up, taking in a deep breath of the unrestricted air, “Just winded, I’m gonna get some water and I’ll be good to go for another bout.”
When Adrien returned, the class was bunched together. He easily spotted Chloé in the crowd (being the only person not in fencing gear) and walked next to her. “What’s going on?”
“Oh, Adrikins!” Chloé hugged him, and really, he’d rather not have had the air squeezed out of him at the moment, but resigned himself to it anyway. “This kid in red showed up and says they’re the best fencer everywhere they’ve been- but don’t worry, they’re obviously not as good as you.”
He raised a brow but said nothing.
“All right!” D’Argencourt exclaimed to the newcomer, “I may consider your admission, shall you defeat one of my students.”
The fencer in red strode forward, “Which one of you is the best combatant?” the fencer demanded. The crowd parted, and Adrien found himself alone in the center. He glanced towards Marinette, who gave him an awkward thumbs up.
D’Argencourt gestured to the primary fencing strip, “Adrien, please give our visitor a lesson in chivalry.”
He halfway suspected D’Argencourt had entirely forgotten he wasn’t at his best, but, if everyone thought he was the best here, who was he to disappoint? He nodded, “Yes sir.”
-
Chloé could care less about fencing. It’s all sweaty and involves clashing and clanging metal together. But, it's her Adrien's sport, and Sabrina seemed to think it was fun too. Least she could do was watch in support. With Marinette’s incessant questions and the answers other students were giving, Chloé could somewhat follow the bout. Really, who did this random red rouge think they were? Trying to take her Adrikin’s place as the best fencer in the Academy?
“Uhhh… Abstention!”  D’Argencourt called. The fencers returned to their starting line.
Adrien pulled his helmet up to breathe, and looked up at the fencer in red, brows furrowed in determination. He dropped the helmet back over his face.
“Tired yet?” The fencer taunted.
“Just getting started,” Adrien called back, straightening his stance.
“... Shall I request we do this the old fashioned way then?” they turned to D’Argencourt, “We'll be much more at ease without the machine.”
D’Argencourt considered it, “Adrien?”
He smiled behind his helmet, “Fine with me.”
Chloé focused on each move and clash and blow. Freed of their attachments, the fencers moved with agility and panache. Jumping, spinning, clashing. Some boring person muttered “Aren’t they supposed to stay on the strip?” The fencers raced up the stairwell and Chloé made her way to the front to watch them closely. Chloé didn’t pay much attention to the fact that Marinette was the only other person who had kept up with the fight. Nor did she pay attention to the fact that Sabrina had been clearing her path among the crowd before.
The fencer would lunge, Adrien would parry. Adrien feinted a step and pulled back, drawing them in, and the fencer would leap out of the way of his counterattack. Blades clashed and clamored. Adrien knocked the fencer through the doors of the Library. Marinette stood in front of the opened doors as the pair fought, watching intently.
“Out of my way,” Chloé huffed, shoving Marinette to take her spot in watching the pair fight. She yelped as a book cart was sent her way and she narrowly jumped out of the way, “Hey!”
Neither fencers paid any attention. (Which, ouch, really? Is she not important enough here?)
“Let’s finish this!” the red-clad fencer announced, and they both lunged. Chloé blinked and both sabers were being pulled away from the other fencer’s chest.
The fencers turned to look at Chloé. “Who got the first hit?!” The figure in red  demanded, “Who?”
Adrien pulled off his helmet and rubbed the spot he’d been hit, grimacing slightly.
“Er…” Chloé frowned and the group finally caught up to them, whispering curiosities. “Adrien?”
“Wait, you’re not even one of my students….” D’Argencourt noted, “Are you sure?”
Chloé huffed, tilting her head up, "Of course! And I'm sure my father, the Mayor, would love to explain to you why I’m right~” she side stepped closer and lowered her voice, “You already lost the election to him, do you really wanna lose your job as well?"
Adrien frowned. “Actually, I think they touched me first,” Adrien said, turning to D’Argencourt.
“Er- Referee has the last word!” D’Argencourt exclaimed, “This victory is… certainly an honor to the D’Argencourt Academy!” He chuckled nervously as Chloé grinned.
Adrien frowned and watched as the fencer walked away and thrust their saber into the ground. “I’m going to offer them a decisive match,” he said, and raced after them.
“Hey! Adriekins, why are you following them? You won!” Chloé sighed and followed him, rolling her eyes.
Adrien pulled the fencer’s sword from the ground and ran towards the fencer’s car. “Wait! Your saber!”
Chloé raced down the entrance, “Come on Adrikins, you won, what’s this...” she halted as she looked up. The red clad fencer removed their helmet and…well she was unfairly pretty. Dark hair and dark eyes and a dusting of freckles like stardust on her cheeks... “About…”
Adrien continued forward anyway, “Let’s do a, er, decisive match?” Adrien offered, smiling.
“Like she said-” The fencer said, gesturing to Chloé, “You won. There’s no such thing as second chances in my family. Goodbye.” She turned and got into the car.
“Hey! What’s your…” The car door slammed and the car drove off. “...name.” He frowned and glanced down at the red saber.
Chloé shook him. “Who was that? I must know immediately.”
He sighed, watching the car retreat into the distance. “Well… I saw her ring, it reminded me of something... Give me a second-” He grabbed his phone and looked up the imagery of the ring.
-
“Oh curse the passage of time,” D’Argencourt grumbled, “We will finish the last rounds of candidate selection next Thursday. Er, you four-” He pointed at Marinette, Sabrina, and two other students, “You’re in for the last rounds. Everyone else, farewell, no need to return,” he waved the group of prospective students away and the group dispersed.
Sabrina was suddenly next to Marinette. Marinette yelped as she noticed the other teen so close. “You’re in the last bracket! That’s awesome!”
Marinette raised a brow, “Uh… Thank you. Congrats to you too.”
They smiled, “Yeah! I’m super excited!” she bounced in place, “I can’t wait to master the blade.”
Somewhere outside, Chloé screamed.
Sabrina gasped, “Chloé! I’ve gotta check on her!” Sabrina ran off, brow furrowed in determination.
Marinette frowned and ran off in another direction, finding somewhere to transform. Chloé’s screams usually meant akumas.
-
“Adrien!” Chloé cried out as the akumatized villain pointed their sword at him. Adrien was on the ground, holding the red handled saber against Riposete’s sword.
“I’m taking you up on your offer for a decisive match!” Riposte exclaimed.
Adrien strained against the sword. He gave up and rolled out from under her. “I can’t fight you like this!”
“Fight!” she demanded with another slash. Féline Sombre tumbled in and knocked the sword away with her staff.
“Hey now, play nice,” Féline said, shifting to get in front of Adrien.
“I’m not playing,” Riposte said, “I will show you all just who the greater swordsman is!”
Adrien groaned and scrambled to a stand, moving through a blur of dots in his vision, only to run into someone. Strong hands balanced him. “Careful,” Ladybug said.
“She’s after my Adrikins!” Chloé explained to Ladybug, hiding behind a pillar, “You need to protect him!”
“I can protect my-” his body decided this was a perfect time to betray him. He stumbled and coughed. ...Probably too much exertion today.
Riposte knocked Féline Sombre back, and rushed towards Adrien and Ladybug. Ladybug wrapped her yoyo around Riposete’s sword and yanked. Riposete’s arm was pulled away from Adrien, but the yoyo slipped off.
“It’s fused to her hand?” Ladybug exclaimed.
Féline Sombre got back up and vaulted towards Adrien and Ladybug.
“I guess you can’t dis-arm her!" Féline Sombre chuckled awkwardly.
"Puns? Seriously?" Ladybug shook her head, “Féline, get Adrien somewhere safe, I'll keep her occupied.”
"Can do Bug, come on Adrien," Féline grabbed him around the waist and he yelped as they extended their staff into the air and the ground twirled away from him without his input.
Riposte growled under her breath and sliced a pillar and kicked it towards Ladybug. She stumbled back and lassoed the pillar before it could fall into her. Riposte was already bounding off after Féline Sombre. Ladybug sighed and hooked her yoyo on a nearby chimney to follow after.
"I really need somebody who's better at distraction than I am."
-
Féline Sombre landed on a bridge, gently dropping Adrien. She looked around, "Okay, okay, we're probably far enough to pause and make a plan of action. If she's looking to fight you then hiding might be your best bet, but that could become dangerous if she finds you and you're somewhere you can't escape-"
"No, hiding is great!" Adrien grinned awkwardly, already stepping away. He glanced around for places to transform. "I can do that! I'll just-"
Riposte landed just a few feet away from them before Adrien could run away. "Stand and fight, you coward!"
"I’m not going to fight you like this!” Adrien protested, “You're not yourself! What's the honor in this?"
Riposte lunged forward and he ducked, rolling out of the way. Féline Sombre twirled on their staff and kicked Riposte away.
Riposte growled and slashed the lampposts. Féline Sombre’s eyes widened as the old metal lamps crashed and caged her against the edge of the bridge. They strained against the metal, “Adrien look out!”
Riposte immediately turned to him. She advanced quickly and he scrambled back, automatically shifting into a fencing form, red handled blade in hand. Riposte slashed at his feet, forcing him to leap up onto the edge of the bridge.
Féline Sombre called for their cataclysm. Riposte prepared to strike at him. Féline wouldn’t be able to interfere fast enough. He knew it.
-
“If you really are Paon Lilas, transform, Adrien,” Hawkmoth muttered under his breath, brows furrowed in concern. Because if he didn’t, what did that mean? His son was in danger and he put him there. Does he have to hope for yet another failure? Is it a failure if his son is safe? He practically growled under his breath, pushing such things out of his mind. “Come on. What are you waiting for?”
-
Adrien closed his eyes. He jumped. Riposte’s sword crashed on brick. Wind whipped around him. He held his breath and splashed into the water below.
It was cold. His lungs were already protesting. He opened his eyes and spotted a red figure dive in after him. Ladybug’s arm wrapped around him, securing him as she pulled him up and secured her yoyo to land. He hacked on coughs as soon as they breached the water.
Ladybug dropped him on the ground and he groaned.
"You're kinda reckless, aren't you?" Ladybug noted with some sort of half smile on her face.
His lungs hated him. He wheezed with a cough, "I trusted Féline Sombre not to leave me."
Ladybug frowned at him briefly. She glanced towards the bridge as Riposte looked down at the waters below. Féline Sombre gave Ladybug the quickest of a wave, and she ran out of sight, presumably to detransform.
"Come on," Ladybug said. She picked him up (really these superheroes have got to stop doing that, it's making his vision blur) and bounded away.
"What about Féline Sombre?" Adrien exclaimed, closing his eyes and tightening his grip on Ladybug’s shoulders to keep the dizziness from overwhelming him.
"They'll be back, we need you somewhere safe before Riposte figures out you're not in the water." Ladybug landed and gently put him on the ground. He looked around, finding she had brought them to a park.
He coughed more, shaking from the wind-whipped, damp, cold settling in his bones. Ladybug frowned at him again strangely.
"How are you doing? ...You seem ill."
He forced a smile, "Just the after effects of my little dive I think. I'll be fine."
Her expression changed strangely yet again and she nodded, “Okay…” she looked around and nodded to herself, “here,” she grabbed Adrien’s hand and tugged him towards a statue, “Hide behind here. I’ll uh, come get you when we deakumatize Riposte.”
Adrien nodded and watched as Ladybug dashed to the edges of the park, activating the phone in her yoyo. “Duusu,” he whispered, “we should help them-”
“You’re sick,” Duusu said, coming up and pushing against his cheek, “I’m sure Ladybug and Féline Sombre can handle it from here, right?”
Adrien frowned, glancing back towards where Ladybug was talking to Féline Sombre on the phone. “Maybe…” he muttered, “but it’s also the easiest way to get Adrien out of the way while still doing something, right?”
“You’re not in the way,” Duusu whispered.
Adrien grumbled anxiously, watching from behind the statue.
-
“She’s coming your way, bye Bug!” Féline Sombre exclaimed as they ended the call.
“Bye Kitty,” Ladybug searched for the silvery akuma with a frown. “Hm, better safe than sorry- Lucky Charm!” Ladybug called. The charm produced a metal wireframe chair. She tilted her head. “A...chair. Am I supposed to sit around for Riposte to come attack Adrien?”
Riposte dove in, sword aimed, and Ladybug yelped as she tumbled out of the way.
“Where did you hide him?” Riposte demanded, flourishing her weapon.
“You think I’d tell you?” Ladybug scoffed, briefly glancing to where Féline Sombre was inching forward. Hidden. Waiting for an opening. “This is just between us. Unless you’re scared to test your mettle against me?”
Riposte huffed, turning her full attention to Ladybug, “Oh? I’ll defeat you swiftly and then I’ll take your miraculous!” Riposte lunged and Ladybug twirled to block with the chair, gasping as she noticed the sword slip between the backrest supports. Riposte was too fast however, and the sword slipped back out before she could do anything about it.
Féline Sombre vaulted in on her staff and kicked Riposte from behind, into the park fence. They shifted into a fencing stance, staff aimed like a sword, “You wanted some fencing, right?”
“Who told you all these puns?” Ladybug frowned, glancing at her redheaded partner.
“Would you be mad if I said all the puns is because I’m kinda missing Paon Lilas’s jokes?”
Ladybug made a face, “What? No, but-”
“Your face says otherwise!” Féline Sombre exclaimed, chuckling.
“Oh hush!” Riposte exclaimed as she lunged towards Féline. Féline Sombre used her staff to block the sword and shifted to get behind her.
“So Bug, what’s our plan?” Féline asked, extending her staff to hit Riposte again. They twirled out of the way of the counterattack.
“The sword!” Ladybug said, “That’s got to be where the akuma is. But she’s too fast!”
Adrien frowned, “I- I can’t just watch. Duusu-” he was caught off by a cough.
Riposte huffed and leaped out from the middle of Ladybug and Féline Sombre, skidding backwards. She turned her head to the sound of a cough. “Of course,” she sent a slash through the statue.
Ladybug gasped, “Adrien!”
Adrien dropped to the ground, then leaped up over the broken base of the statue. He tightened his grip on the fencing sword, frowning towards Riposte. “You want a fight? Fine. Let’s fight.”
Riposte grinned, “Finally.” She lunged and he doubled back, towards Ladybug and Féline Sombre.
Ladybug looked between the fighters and Féline Sombre and ran forward to meet them, smiling. “Féline, I’m gonna need your ribbon soon.” Adrien continued to retreat and block.
The cat hero tilted their head briefly but pulled the ribbon off. Féline Sombre moved in around Riposte’s other side.
With the heroes in the right positions, Adrien drew in another attack from Riposte and called, “Ready?!” He twirled, switching positions with Ladybug. Féline Sombre came around with the ribbon and secured the sword into the metal bars of the chair’s backrest. They ran and tugged backwards to keep it secure as Riposte struggled in the snare.
“Prêt, Allez!” Adrien and Ladybug announced as they both used their combined weight to snap the sword trapped in the chair’s back.
Ladybug grabbed the back of the chair as Adrien fell into the seat, keep him from falling with the chair. Adrien blinked, “Huh, handy.”
Ladybug smiled at him as she grabbed his arms and pulled him up to a stand.
He looked up and down at her and barely flickered a smile at her. He turned towards Riposte with a frown.
“Wow, impressive fencing,” Féline said.
He shrugged, “I’ve been in fencing since I was really young.”
Ladybug caught and purified the butterfly. “Bye bye little butterfly...” She grabbed the Lucky Charm, frowning towards Adrien, “You didn’t have to do that. You put yourself in danger.”
“What happened?” Kagami muttered, looking up in confusion.
Adrien frowned and glanced down at the ground before shaking his head, ignoring Ladybug in favor of the fencer. Ladybug sighed and called for her miracle cure.
He leaned down to the fencer and offered a hand. “You were akumatized,” he said softly, “It’s… a… whole thing. It’s fine now though.”
Ladybug walked over to Féline Sombre. They high-fived and smiled at each other.
“Hey, Adrien,” Ladybug said, “...take care of yourself…” she smiled, and waved as her miraculous beeped, “Bug out!”
Féline Sombre waved goodbye to Ladybug and turned towards the two civilians, “Do either of you need a lift home?”
“I have a chauffeur,” Kagami said.
“Same,” Adrien chuckled awkwardly.
Féline shrugged, “Alright! In that case, I should probably head out too. See you later!” She vaulted away and Adrien turned back to Kagami.
“So…” Adrien muttered.
“Listen I-” she sighed and glanced at the ground.
“I’m sorry” both teens said.
Adrien laughed and offered the saber, “Here’s your saber back… Maybe, uh, we could do a proper rematch?”
She shook her head, pushing it back towards him. “No, I lost. Keep it.”
“Chloé really doesn’t know anything about fencing. I personally think it was your point. Besides… red’s not really my color.”
“She certainly acted like she knew.”
“She can be… enthusiastic, she just… she means well, just goes about things wrong.” Adrien sighed and shrugged, “but I… I think- If you want, we could uh, be friends?”
She looked almost shocked, “You… You want to be my friend?”
“Of course! I- Here, let’s start over-” Adrien huffed a smile and offered his hand, “My name’s Adrien. What’s yours?”
She paused, glancing between his face and his hand. She took the offered hand and shook it. “Kagami.”
“Nice to meet you, Kagami.”
“...Yeah. Nice to meet you too, er, Adrien,” she smirked, “You better get ready for that decisive match.”
He laughed, “Oh, I will.”
-
Fencing swords clashed. One fencer lunged, and the other spun and hit. The buzzer sounded.
“Point!” D’Argencourt called, “Sabrina Raincomprix, welcome to the academy!”
Sabrina pulled up her mask and smiled at Marinette as she disconnected herself from the buzzer cord. Marinette raised her mask up with a sigh. They saluted with their sword and Marinette did the same.
“Good game,” Marinette muttered with a sigh, preparing for whatever mocking she would receive.
“You did awesome! It was a close game, you almost had me there."
Marinette raised a brow. "Uh. Thanks?"
Sabrina sighed, "It's really too bad there's only two spots, I was looking forward to sparring more with you. Next time there's an open spot you should definitely try again."
"I… you really think so? Chloé would've hated seeing me outside class on a weekly basis."
"I- I’m not Chloé’s clone, I... don’t hate you. I’m...sorry if I’ve ever made it seem like that," they sighed, and offered a hand, "Seriously. Good game, Marinette."
She smiled awkwardly and accepted the handshake. "Same to you, Sabrina."
Marinette walked into the equipment room and Tiki zipped out.
"You did great, even if you didn't get in. You can always practice on your own or get Adrien to help again!" Tiki cheered.
Marinette sighed and nodded, "True. ...I think that fencer- Kagami? and Sabrina wanted it more anyway. I wouldn't change a thing… and… Sabrina was weirdly nice."
"Without Chloé around she seems much more open."
"Yeah, I guess. ...Actually- huh. I guess they've never exactly been outright antagonistic… I guess I just… associate her with Chloé that much…" Marinette shook her head, "Weird."

Daminette/Maribat Fairy Tail OVA
So this is my final part of my Fairy Tail Au. This will be like a bonus section just extra little snippets that didn't make it to the main story so it will be shorter than my other parts. Enjoy
Part 1
Part 2
Sometime around when Marinette first joined
Marinette: So Barry is a speed mage, Arther in a Water mage that can turn his body INTO water, Diana is an equip mage, and Clark is a Fire God-slayer like Jon.
Damian: That's right
Marinette: So what type of magic does your dad have?
Damian: Oh he doesn't have magic, just a bunch of gadgets
‐——————-----------——
Damian following Marinette around
Damian: Watch out Angel
Damian lifts Marinette up by her waist to avoid Wally running by
Marinette smiling: Thanks Damian
Damian blushing: No problem
------------------------
Sometime before the opening ceremony on the Grand Magic Games
Wally speeding by Team Hatchlings: LUCKY!!!
Wally sped towards a pink hair girl dressed in all black, engulfing her in a hug before kissing her
Marinette: Who's that?
Jon: That's Wally's girlfriend, Jinx.
Damian: They've been together a few years now, but she's part of a different guild so they don't get to see eachother as much as they would like
Marinette: That's so romantic
The younger members of the guild watch as Wally zips away only to return a few seconds later with a red rose
-----------------------
After Team Hatchlings First Offical Mission with 2 blocks of town destroyed
Jon: Oh man we really made really made a mess this time
Damian sighing: I guess we can say goodbye to the reward this time
Marinette: Actually I have something that can help
Damian and Jon give her A hopeful look
Marinette: Open gat of Creation, Tikki!
Tikki: What do you need Marinette?
Marinette: We need to fix some damage
Tikki: Right away, Miraculous Ladybug!!
As Tikki cast her magic thousands of ladybugs appeared and wherever they passed the damaged was fixed
Damian hugging Marinette: Way to go Angel
Jon joining in on the hug: You are never leaving us
Marinette laughs and hugs her boys back
She can tell that she is going to stay with these two
----------------------------------
After Team Adrien's first mission without Marinette
Nino: Oh wow dudes we really cause some damaged
Half the town was destroyed
Alya: It's okay Marinette will take care of it like always. It's the only thing she's good for
Lila laughing: You're so right Alya
Lila and Alya high fived eachother
Adrien: Guys did you forget? Marinette left the team
Alya: Oh no that's right
Lila: Then who's going to clean all this up
The mayor of the town walkd up to the 4 glaring
Mayor: You four are and you won't be getting the reward either
Lila: That's not fair! You can't do that!
Mayor: YOU CAUSED MORE DAMAGED THEN THE DARK WIZARD YOU CAUGHT! EITHER YOU FIX OUR TOWN OR WE CALL THE GRAND MAGIC COUNCIL!!!
The four nodded their heads terrified
They got straight to work and finished about 4 weeks later
They returned to the guild late, tired, and with no money
--------------------------
A couple of months after Marinette joined Damian and Jon
Marinette: Do you guys think we need a team name?
Damian: What did you mean, Angel?
Marinette: I mean the Masters call their team The Justice League, that's how they got the guild name. Dick, Kori, Rachel, Garfield, and Victor are the Teen Titans. And Tim, Wally Megan, Connor, Kaldur, and Artemis are Young Justice. So shouldn't we have a name as well
Jon: You're right we should have a name! But what should it be
Marinette: My last team was called Team Adrien
Damian: How narcissistic. No we need a better name.
Dickwalking up to the younger kids: What are you guys talking about?
Damian: We're trying to think up a team name
Dick: But you guys already a team way
Jon confused: No we don't
Tim joining in: Yes you do
Marinette: What is it?
Jason also joining in: Team Hatchling!
Damian glaring: That is NOT our team name
Dick: It's not? Everybody calls you that
Jon: No they don't
Dragon Slayers besides Damian: Yes we do
Rest of the guild: Yes we do
Guild Masters: Yes we do
Jason: It's because you're the youngest and so cute
Jason look down at the two glaring boys and the wide eyed Marinette
Jason: Well at least Pixie Pop is
Marinette: Well I guess we have our team name
-------------------------------------
After the Grand Magic Games
Marinette running into the guild
Marinette: GUYS! GUESS WHAT I WAS CHOSEN TO DO A INTERVIEW WITH SORCERER'S WEEKLY!
The girl of the guild surrounded Marinette congratulationing her and talking over the details
Stephine: Congratulations Marinette! I guess you finally made it
Kori: That is a great honor Marinette!
Damian: What?
Marinette: Apparently I'm also going to be the center fold
Barbra: Way to go Starlight. When is it?
Damian: What?
Marinette: Next week at the beach
Dick: Way to go Stardust!
Damian: WHAT?
Damian was ignored throughout the whole conversation
Everybody knew he was just being possessive of his mate
Damian and Jon were going to follow Marinette to her interview to make sure nothing happened to her
Damian also dragged his brothers along under the guise of back up but really he was hoping they would be their rowady selves and ruin the photoshoot
Which backfired greatly
Marinette wore a off the shoulder blue crop top and a pair of jean shorts
It wasn't as revealing as most center fold out fits but it still made Damian's blood boil with jealousy
Somehow through their antics Dick was dragged into the photos aswell
They were doing a kinda siblings photoshoot with Dick swing Marinette around
Photographer: That's it act like you just got a big bowl of your mama's spaghetti
Damian glares at Jon
Jon: What?
Damian: Your mom is the owner and top reporter of Sorcerer's Weekly call her and make them stop
Jon just laughed at his friends antic shaking his head
Louis is the one who suggest Marinette for this no way would she stop it
When the article came out it wasn't as bad as Damian thought
Sure there was a lot of cute and some saucy pictures of Marinette, but there was also a lot of her and Dick playing around
And there was one of her kissing Damian on the cheek as he glared at the camera.

over the wall au?? do tell 👀👀👀
:>
I’ve realized I’ve never actually talked about the Over the Wall au here before so!
This Au is actually inspired by the Miraculous Ladybug fic Over the Wall by @imthepunchlord (which I highly recommend for ml fans), as well as Stardust (one of the inspiration sources for the fic itself). Inevitably speaking my au is nothing like the fic it’s inspired by, I literally just took the idea of “a wall that no one crosses separates the magical world from the human world” and then went off.
SO in this Au, Claire is a human in the human world, one night she’s up late and see’s Enrique being stolen by the goblins, she chases them all the way to the wall until they climb over. Nobody crosses the wall, mostly because the wall never lets them over and literally yeets anyone back who tries to cross the wall. Claire, however, very determined to get her brother back from the she doesn’t know whats, disregards this and tries to cross the wall, and low and behold, it actually lets her over.
Over the wall she ends up meeting Toby, the only human in the magic world (any other humanoid beings are either wizards, witches, or the occasional changeling). Toby was a child that was also stolen to become a changeling, but the goblins carrying him were intercepted by trolls and he was saved and raised by trolls (specifically Blinky and AAARRRGGHH). Despite his best interests, he ends up agreeing to take Claire to Morgana, the wizard who took her brother to make a changeling, he acts as Claire’s guide to the magic world.
Morgana has eyes everywhere and immediately knows that Claire crossed that wall and is trying to find her brother. She also knows that the wall keeps anyone from crossing it that’s not supposed to cross it, and she’s like “wtf why is a human here” and sends minions/champions to go fetch her.
The first she sends is Jim, the half-troll (idk if I want his to start as half-troll or for him to be like Toby and then have been changed like in the show) Trollhunter who Morgana managed to catch and brainwash into following her commands by putting a magic stone in the amulet, the armor’s always on him and no one can get the amulet off. Jim follows after Claire, Toby, Blinky, and AAARRRGGHH, for a hot minute, getting in a few skirmishes with them that they barely skirt out of and causing Toby a huge panic attack at seeing one of his only friends like this again ‘cause I love hurting him. Eventually they get in a full on fight and manage to get the amulet off Jim, pry open the back with the controlling stone, and remove and destroy it, breaking Jim of Morgana’s control.
Morgana’s like “oh darn, well it was fun using him while it lasted” and sends Angor Rot after them. Jim has mostly lost his memories from the past however many years of being controlled except for blurry snippets and joins the group as they head to Morgana to try and incite some personal revenge.
Something something, they have run ins with Angor rot, and at some point they run into Merlin who’s like “oh shit you’re [Claire] a real human? I think there’s a prophecy or something about you” and there is (it’s the one I wrote in the post that was def written at like 3 am which is why it’s... not amazing) and it pretty much says she’s going to kill a wizard who everyone guesses is Morgana ‘cause she’s kinda got a strangle hold on the this part of the Magic world.
There’ll be more as I eventually write it  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I’m also toying with the idea of Momgana for Toby ‘cause I fucking love it, but it kinda ends up too similar to my Witch!Toby au in that regard and I think it might detract too far from Claire’s part of the story but idk.
Thanks for asking about the au though! :D <3

To Rely on You
Summary: Marinette’s big day is finally here! She and Adrien are officially going to tie the knot and live with the happy family they’ve both always dreamed of. However, what is a superhero to do when her limo breaks down miles away from the venue and no help in sight? Well… there’s help…. Just not the person she’d call first exactly.
Author’s Notes: Okay, so this is my first Miraculous Ladybug piece in a really long time. Not going to lie, fandom drama made me really tired of it; I haven’t completely left the fandom but I can’t promise anything when it comes to the unfinished works in my collections. I may return to them one day. I also need to say that I have not finished watching Season 2 or started Season 3. I do have a general idea of what is going on. Treat this story as an AU where I rule supreme and canon is thrown far to the wayside if need be.
Also, huge thanks to @crazyfanatic97 for the request!
“I’m sorry mademoiselle,” the slender man with a handlebar mustache called as he stood from the ground. He used a white handkerchief to clean his grease smeared hands and once that was done to his satisfaction, he rolled the sleeves of his white pressed shirt back down before reaching for his black coat. “I’m afraid that this issue is too big to fix here. It seems that one of our lines has been severed in too.” He bowed to said woman. “My apologies. We at Voyage Services strive to maintain our equipment to the highest level; this is completely unacceptable.”
Marinette Dupain-Cheng, soon to be Marinette Dupain-Cheng Agreste, knew the expression on his face all too well but there was no way in heaven or Earth she would be able to do anything if that pesky little butterfly showed up today. She smiled softly at him. “Monsieur Couture, I assure you that everything is alright. I am not upset or angry. Things like this happen.” She reached out, gently patting his shoulder, “I don’t just say that because of Hawkmoth either; I mean it. I understand that we can’t control every single thing and right now, as far as either of us knows, a rock could have hit that line at the right angle to cut it.” Her smile didn’t fade as she dropped her hand, “Your service has been wonderful. I assure you, we will be using it again in the future.”
That final statement seemed to ease his concerns more than anything else. His shoulders slumped and he gave her a small bow, “You are too kind Mademoiselle Dupain- Cheng.” He turned then to return to the front of the limo, leaving her at the far back. Marinette sighed and slumped into the car seat, leaving the door open so she could see the passing traffic. They still had about fifteen minutes to go to get to the church where her and Adrien were going to hold their ceremony so walking was out of the question. She’d already tried to reach her parents, Alya, Nino, Adrien, a whole host of classmates, but nobody was responding. They were all too busy getting ready for her wedding. Maybe it had been a bit foolish, and selfish, to want to travel alone in the limo instead of with her bridesmaids. Everyone was taken aback when she had insisted. There were a couple of protests but she had insisted, explaining that for her, this was something she needed to do; it sounded crazy but she felt like this trip would be a representation of everything that had happened so far.
Everything that had happened. Right.
Marinette sighed. She leaned forward a bit to lean on her knees, which were nigh near impossible to spot in the large, layered skirt she wore. Her dress was white with a gold accent that ran from the bodice, down to the first overlay of the skirt, and around. Underneath that layer, she had two more layers that shimmered like fine stardust. Her shoulders were exposed in a sleeve-less, sweet-heart bodice. The only thing missing was her make-up which was going to be done at the church to save some time.
Time. How slowly it seemed to move.
Years, of course, had passed. She couldn’t help but smile at the thought of how her high-school self would have responded to this situation. She would have been freaking! All sorts of weird scenarios would have run their course through her mind and out into the world by her speaking, but she no longer felt these urges and, in the odd cases that she did, she managed them with cool maturity that would have certainly impressed her younger self to no end.
Marinette reached out for her phone again. No notifications. Nothing. Nobody was looking for her yet; probably because they hadn’t had the chance to look at the clock or noticed that the bride was a bit absentee.
Something moved from the pocket inside the dress that she had secretly added. Tikki popped her head up. Her wide blue eyes scanned Marinette’s expression and she softly whispered, “Are you alright Marinette?”
“I’m fine Tikki,” she assured her, petting her head. Tikki beamed.
“You do seem to be handling it well.”
Marinette shrugged, “Thanks to you and Master Fu. I’ve got too many responsibilities right now to be freaking out over something so minor.”
“Still,” the kwami added, flying out of the pocket, “It’s something for you to be proud of. We all are.” Marinette smiled at her.
Then the smile twisted into a flat, neutral expression. She reached for her phone again and started to dial a number; Tikki eyed her. “Who are you calling?”
“The one person I know is too vain to not be without her phone and is definitely not helping with the wedding preparations,” she replied dryly. Tikki blinked then nodded. The phone rang for a few seconds. Marinette gripped it, waiting for the… ah, there it was.
“Marinette Dupain-Cheng,” Chloe snarked.
“Chloe.”
“And just why are you calling me of all people on a day like today? Going to brag about your success?”
Marinette took a sharp breath. In many ways, Chloe had grown up as well. She was no longer completely dependent on her father and she stood on her own two legs as a fashion critic; she’d proved her worth after she’d stood against the latest Agreste line and received much support in terms of her criticisms of how lazy his fashion had become in the last year or so. She knew that, without a doubt, Chloe was going to continue to be her rival. Just not in love anymore.
“I’m not calling to brag about anything,” she replied calmly, “I need a favor. A huge one.”
“Oh this I’ve got to hear.” Marinette could almost picture her holding up a perfectly manicured hand to examine each nail. “Let me guess, you’ve got cold feet and need me to help stage your runaway?”
Marinette barked a laugh at that one, “You wish. No, what I need is for you to come pick me up. I’ll send you my location.”
Silence. She could hear movement in the background as Chloe removed herself from whatever lounge she had been on. There were muffled orders called to her butler. “What happened? Were you attacked?”
Marinette smiled, “Attacked would have been easier and more preferable. One of the lines in the engine was severed so we’re stuck too far from the church to walk safely. Nobody else is picking up.”
More sounds of movement. It sounded like Chloe was grabbing for some things and walking quickly down the luxurious hallway of her father’s hotel. “And why exactly did you decide to travel by yourself? I know you Marinette Dupain-Cheng. You wouldn’t make a foolish decision like that without a reason.” Now it was her turn to be silent. She listened to what sounded like Chloe leaving the hotel to get into her own limo to come and get her. “Well?”
“I don’t know how to explain it,” she said softly, “This felt like something I needed to do alone.”
“Let me guess: To represent how much you’ve grown and changed in the last couple of years?” Chloe was rolling her eyes. Marinette could feel it. “Whatever. We’ll be there in five. You’re going to owe me big time Dupain-Cheng.”
“Of course Chloe.” A smirk played at the corner of her mouth. “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
“Good. Now send me your location so we can come get you.”
“Yes, Chloe.” Marinette dropped her phone and ended the call, sending the coordinates as asked. Now, it was only a waiting game.
*****
“I thought you said five minutes Chloe,” Marinette smirked. “You’re a bit late.” The blonde totally rolled her eyes this time but only glared.
“Just get in,” she ordered, “Or you’re never going to be ready for your own wedding.”
Marinette gathered up her skirt as much as could and moved to the door that was held open by Chloe’s butler. She halted right in the door. She looked back at Monsieur Couture. “Are you sure you do not wish to come with us?” He bowed to her again.
“I thank you for your kindness but I shall wait here. The company is sending help and I will be there to escort you and your new husband to the second venue at least.” She smiled.
“I’ll hold you to that promise.”
With that, she climbed in, sitting across from Chloe so as to not drown her in the cloth of her skirt. Layers. Why had she wanted layers again? Once they were securely in place and the door closed, Chloe’s butler returned to the front, started the engine, and took them off down the road. The first few minutes were filled with silence. Marinette wouldn’t have described it as a tense silence. While, true, there was still some rivalry between the two of them, it wasn’t so much to warrant being on guard anymore. Chloe had amended her ways. She’d proved it. Even if she couldn’t do it in the Bee guise any longer, she did so in other ways.
It was only when they were in view of the church that anything was said. Chloe huffed and crossed her legs and arms, closing her eyes.
“You owe me.”
Marinette raised an eyebrow, “Yes, we’ve established this. I assumed we were going to talk about the terms after, you know, my wedding?”
Chloe snorted. “No, we’re going to talk about them right now.” She reached over and pressed an intercom button, “Drive just a little slower please.”
“At once Mademoiselle,” he returned. Marinette could feel the car slow just enough to be legal. She could also feel her rising headache with each dropped kilometer. It took everything in her power to not lean forward and rub her temples in frustration.
“Alright Chloe. I’ll bite. Name your price. A year’s worth of free dresses? A day with Adrien? Access to Agreste secrets?”
“I’m not petty enough to ask for any of those things,” she snapped. Marinette blinked, clearly taken aback. Chloe’s eyes were on fire; there was a spark in them that she had never seen before and the heat threatened Marinette’s courage. She almost felt like she was reverting to her high school self, shrinking away from anything and everything that Chloe did to her; her laughter was sharp in her ear. Marinette couldn’t help but wonder if Chloe knew her own true power. Not the spoiled, bratty demeanor she’d put on for most of her life to compensate for her complicated family life but the warrior that was facing her now. Marinette swallowed hard. She squared her shoulders and sat up straighter. Two could play that game. The two entered a glare off for a few seconds. Finally, Chloe continued with, “There’s only one thing I want and you have to promise to up-hold it.”
“Okay,” Marinette answered, “I promise.”
“You haven’t even heard it yet.”
“Chloe, you’re not who you used to be. I know that and my prod was not warranted earlier. I do apologize for that. Besides,” her expression softened, “I think I know what you want to say.”
“Oh do you,” she mocked.
Marinette hesitated for a second. Then she reached out and gently took Chloes hand, much to the other’s chagrin and surprise. She squeezed. “I do.”
“You’re supposed to save that line for your husband,” Chlose replied softly, “and speaking of….”
“We’re at the church ma’am,” the intercom announced, “Do I need to make another lap?” Chloe broke away, pressing the button to reply.
“No, Mademoiselle Dupain-Cheng is already late. We need to get her inside or she’ll miss her own wedding.”
“Very good.” The limousine came to a slow stop. The engine was cut and they waited a few seconds for the door to open. Marinette offered one last smile to Chloe before gathering her skirt again to get out of the vehicle. It was only when her feet hit the ground that Chloe finally finished what she was saying.
“Take care of him,” she ordered. Marinette looked back into the vehicle. Chloe was looking the other way. “I’m not handing him to you lightly. If you hurt him Dupain-Cheng, I will handle you myself.”
Marinette chuckled, “I wouldn’t dream of it. And Chloe?”
She didn’t turn her head.
“Thank you. For being his friend. You’ll always be welcomed into our home.”
“Ugh. Whatever. Enough with the sappy stuff. Get inside or you’ll really be late.” Marinette blinked.
“Aren’t you coming in? We did make sure to invite you.”
“Unlike you, I happen to like being fashionably late on purpose. It’ll at least let me steal the spotlight from you just long enough to make an impression.” This time, Marinette didn’t bother to hide her amusement.
“Sure Chloe.”
She turned as the butler shut the door. He offered her an arm as they made their way up the stairs. Marinette felt warm and not from the weather, but from something else as the doors opened and she walked into her future.

I was going to apologize for this taking so long, but it's actually only been a week and that isn't that long in the grand scheme of things. I've been distracted shit posting on https://discord.gg/geus6XM which is a breeding ground for Miraculous Ladybug au's. Pretty much all of them center around Nathaniel at this point but that is open to change. I also accidentally ship Nathaniel\Marinette\Marc\Luka now so *shrug emoji*
Foxes are very good at digging complex networks of tunnels. You never know where one might pop up.
Master Post of All Chapters
The moment Ladybug showed up was the exact moment everything went to hell. One moment they were curing the Shepard, who turned back into the wah-wah lacky from the hospital, and the next the group was fighting for their lives. Again. It had been a long twenty-four hours Viperion sighed to himself.
Between Ladybug and Penknight the scarlet akumas were falling at a steady rate. Between Scarlet Hawkmoth a female Chatnoir calling herself Panther, the heroes were dropping only slightly slower. Carapace had used his shelter early on to protect Night Hunter (a hero using the Tiger miraculous he was 90% certain was Adrien) from a flurry of Cataclysms. The turtle hero had been forced to retreat, his five minute time limit long since expired. Plumage had lost his fan in a similar manner, Panther turning it to dust with her Cataclysm before he could create a sentimonster. The new peacock hero was still an asset with his martial power, obviously trained in hand to hand, but he seemed to be tiring more quickly than he should.
Sabrina was being protected by Queen Bee and Stardust as they tried to find a break in the wave of akuma’s to let her escape. Retriever had used her power to yank Ladybug to her side moments before Scarlet Hawkmoth could snatch her earrings, Ladybug having been pinned by scarlet akumas. Night Hunter was a flurry of claws as he felled akuma’s for Ladybug to purify. Rena Rogue was now helping Penknight fend off Panther, who was after his pen-sword to get his akuma. If they could only get some breathing room Viperion was certain the fox hero could create an illusion to give Sabrina enough cover so she could retreat and hopefully join up with Carapace in finding their kwamis food.
Viperion himself had used his second chance the moment Scarlet Hawkmoth showed up, but the power had expired long ago. He was grateful his miraculous didn’t seem to have a time limit like the others. Judging by how Panther was able to sling cataclysm after cataclysm, she didn’t either. He wondered what the factor was that decided that. He refused to believe it was because she was a better fit for the cat miraculous than Adrien had been. Viperion knew there were secrets within secrets surrounding the miraculous but having a firmer grasp on the ground rules would be nice. Using his power too many times close together made him tired, but didn’t detransform him. If Panther suffered the same problem she might take herself out of the fight soon with how liberally she was using her power.
“Rena, no!” Night Hunter shouted, hand outstretched to the fox heroine. Rena Rogue had had her feet swept out from under her by a scarlet akuma, going down hard. Panther was darting towards the downed heroine with a cataclysm ready.
“Venom! Shit!” Queen Bee cursed, throwing her energized top. It was too late. The venom hit, paralyzing Panther, but not before she touched Rena Rouge’s miraculous. A horrified Alya clutched at the ashes of her miraculous as her transformation failed. Night Hunter, having tackled Panther only a second after the venom had hit, cursed and hit the ground.
“Regroup!” Ladybug ordered, her yoyo spinning into a shield as she backed towards the downed girl. Night Hunter collected himself and removed the cat ring from Panther. She reverted a middle aged woman Luka didn’t recognize. Sabrina dived into Alya, hugging her fiercely as the girl stared in shock at her shattered miraculous.
“No!” Scarlet Hawkmoth growled. “Get them! Bring me their Miraculous!” The scarlet akuma fell on them with renewed vigor.
“We could fight better if we weren’t protecting these guys.” Penknight snarled in frustration, furiously slashing at anything that got too close to their huddle.
“We can’t just abandon them!” Stardust argued, using his staff like a baseball bat.
“Penknight is right.” Ladybug said.
“I am?” He started, taken aback. Plumage slammed the scarlet akuma that jumped at Penknight in his distraction to the ground with a haymaker.
“Night Hunter, use your power to take Queenbee, Alya, Sabrina, Plumage, and Nathalie out of here. Feed your kwamis and re-transform if you can.” Ladybug ignored the various protests from the group. “Go. Now.”
“But Ladybug...taking this many with me...I’m not sure I’ll be able to come back. I might pass out.” Night Hunter pleaded. Viperion winced. Normally Ladybug would never make such a dispassionate decision, but with Reverser’s alteration…
“Ladybug, are you sure?” Viperion gently asked while violently breaking a mixing bowl he had grabbed off an akuma over his knee. Ladybug gave him a cool, emotionless look as she snapped the butterfly out of the air. It sent shivers down his spine, and not good ones. “Maybe…” Viperion thought fast, “Using your lucky charm would reassure them?” He said, catching Night Hunter’s eye. Scarlet Hawkmoth was hanging back shouting orders as his akuma army tried to swallow them. It was only a matter of time before the man joined them in the assault, the horde was thinning.
“Lucky Charm.” Ladybug sighed rather than said. A red and black spotted pillow popped into existence. Her eyes darted around the battlefield in calculation. “Night Hunter, go. Now. Viperion, use your second chance. Penknight, create something above us. Anything so long as it provides a large shadow.” Penknight frowned at her but obeyed, using his creation to create a tent sized tarp about ten feet above them. Viperion nodded in what he hoped was a reassuring way at Night Hunter, who grit his teeth.
“I’m coming back for you, My Lady.” The current Tiger hero promised. “Shadow Step!” He shouted, the specified group sinking into the large shadow at their feet. The tarp fluttered sideways in the wind, tangling on a few akuma who easily ripped it apart. Scarlet Hawkmoth had not been idle. Using the tarp as cover, villain lept towards the sinking group with amazing speed.
--------------
“Stardust!” Ladybug barked in command, shoving away an akuma that had tried to tackle her. “Stop him!” The goat hero swung his staff at Scarlet Hawkmoth, but he was too fast. Ducking under the boy’s attack he grabbed Night Hunter by the tail, yanking him out of the shadow. The rest vanished with terrified screams.
“This ends now!” Hakwmoth growled, ripping away the tiger and cat miraculous with one swipe. Adrien fell at his feet, exhausted by the energy it had taken to move so many people. He would deal with his son later. The boy had been brainwashed by Ladybug but no matter. Having his mother back would hopeful end this ridiculous rebellious phase. Emile had always known how to get their son to see reason.
“Plagg, Noro, Unify.” Scarlet Hawkmoth growled, shoving the ring of the cat onto his own finger. He felt a great rush of power sweep over him like nothing he had ever experienced. If this was what just the cat and the butterfly felt like together he couldn't even begin to imagine how adding the ladybug would feel. He would know soon enough.
“Surrender Ladybug, and I’ll spare you.” He said, confidently striding forward as she backed away in fear.
“No!” His wayward akuma shouted, valiantly trying to leap to her defense. He almost felt regret at the tearful expression of horror on the young woman’s face as he almost absently turned Penknight to dust with a superpowered cataclysm. The two remaining heroes, the goat and the snake, took up defensive positions in front of her. Scarlet Hawkmoth smirked, raising his hands, a cataclysm smoking in each one.
“No, please!” Ladybug begged, pushing to the front of the line. “Please. You’ve won. Take my miraculous, don’t hurt them.” She begged, pulling off her earrings.
“Of course not. I’m not unreasonable.” Scarlet Hawkmoth said, canceling the cataclysms to finally, finally, take his victory in hand. He hardly spared the plain looking young woman another glance, she was neither memorable nor important.
“Father…” Adrien spoke, hesitant.
“Don’t worry my son, this will all finally be over soon. Your mother will come back to us and we will be a family again. Please understand, everything I have done has been to bring her back to us.” Scarlet Hawkmoth said, kneeling to place a hand on Adrien’s shoulders.
“She’s….she’s really coming back?” His son asked, tearful. Scarlet Hawkmoth nodded. Adrien clung to him in a hug. “Do it. I miss her so much, bring her back to us.” Briefly but strongly returning the hug, Scarlet Hawkmoth rose and adorned the ladybug miraculous.
“Tiki, Plagg, Unify.” The rush of power was euphoric, almost too much to bear. He was a god. No feat was beyond him now. Reaching out with his soul to the familiar one it yearned for, he pulled and….
---------
“Are you okay? You’re crying.” Penknight fretted, holding Stardust.
“I’m fine. It’s just...his dream...he misses her so much.” Stardust sniffled, wiping at his eyes. Ladybug gently eased the pillow lucky charm out from under Gabriel Agrest’s head. Stardust had managed to hit Scarlet Hawkmoth with his Sweet Dreams just moments before the man had grabbed Night Hunter, allowing the group time to escape. She saw Viperion sagging with relief out of the corner of her eye. It had taken a few Second Chance’s to set this up. The kwami she still had with her were cheering and hugging Noro, who was equally overwhelmed at the reunion. She was glad she had not needed to unify any of them with Tiki. She had been spread so thin the past couple days she wasn’t sure she could have handled the strain long enough to be useful.
“Say goodbye.” She instructed Stardust and Penknight. “Once I use my Lucky Charm he’ll likely revert to Nathaniel.” The akuma started towards her with a dark expression, but Stardust pulled him back.
“Let her.” He said, taking the akuma’s hands.
“But I’ll forget all of this. Everything that’s happened. I won’t be the person you fell in love with anymore, I’ll just be Nathaniel.” He spat the name like a curse. Stardust smiled at him gently and kissed him.
“You are Nathaniel. At least the most confidant part of him. I like that about you, I’m so shy it’s...comforting to know there’s someone more bold who cares for me.” Stardust pressed their foreheads together. “but I love the shy part of you too. I love the part of you that gets excited when he’s talking about a new akuma design he came up with. I love watching how serene you look while you’re drawing, and how kind you can be, even when someone doesn’t deserve it. I love all of you, and that will never change.” Penknight stared into his eyes for a moment, before sighing and pulling the green eyed boy close.
“Do it.” He said to Ladybug, face buried in Stardust’s hood.
“Miraculous Ladybug.” She said without feeling, throwing the lucky charm in the air. Ladybugs swarmed around her, and all of a sudden the emotions she had been lacking slammed back into her. Viperion caught her as she stumbled to her knees, trying to catch her breath.
“Ladybug?” He asked in concern.
“I’m fine, I’m fine. Just need a moment to get used to having emotions again. Oomf,” She breathed out. “I already kind of miss it, can’t feel stress without emotions.” She laughed a little too fast.
“I know a guy who runs a massage parlor if you’re up for it later?” Viperion offered with a smile.
“I may take you up on that.” She said shakily, burying her head in his chest. She couldn’t believe it was all finally over. Hawkmoth was defeated and she could finally rest.
“Huh. I’m still here.” She turned her head to see Penknight poking himself in the chest with mild curiosity. Ugh. Well, at least he was a loose end that could wait a little while to finally tie up.
“Well, would you look at that. So am I.” Ladybug and Viperion shot to their feet, her earrings giving their first warning beep. Stepping out of the shadows, wearing the miraculous of the Bee, Fox, Turtle, Tiger, Dog, and Peacock was Volpina. Ladybug didn’t see Plagg with the other kawmi and sent a furious prayer that Adrien had gotten away from her safely and she wasn’t just hiding the Cat somewhere.
“Oh Ladybug, don’t look so shocked! You didn’t really think it would be that easy did you?” Volpina’s laugh rang in her head like a bell tolling. Maybe that was just the beeping from both her and Stardust’s miraculous. The fox akuma pointed her flute at Stardust. Penknight bristled and growled at her.
“I can’t believe Ladybug gave you a miraculous. Oh well, no matter. Mutton, Butterfly, or treacherous little human, I’m not picky about my dinner.” Volpina grinned, showing off wickedly sharp teeth. Marc’s miraculous beeped on final time, dropping his transformation.
“This IS my lucky day.” Volpina laughed as Penknight shoved Marc behind himself and raised his sword in warning.
“You’ll never get passed me.” The male akuma growled. Volpina just smirked and laughed again.
“But I already have.” Ladybug saw the movement out of the corner of her eye and felt stupid. Of course the fox akuma would pull something underhanded like this, she thought in despair as Marc screamed, being dragged into his own shadow by a clawed hand.
“MARC!” Penknight shrieked, diving for Marc’s outstretched hand. Their fingers brushed briefly before the boy was swallowed up. The mocking laughter of Volpina’s illusion echoed in Ladybug’s head long after it had dissolved into smoke.
