It just dawned on me. Three of the main/recurring characters in the show, are played by actors connected to three of my favourite movies over the years.

(The sentence above doesn’t flow right to me but never mind! 😄)

So:

Shawn Ashmore (Wesley Evers) starred in X-Men, X-Men 2 and X-Men: The Last Stand as Bobby Drake aka. Iceman (I loved the superhero movies of the early/mid noughties, including Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man trilogy).

Nathan Fillion (John Nolan) starred in Waitress as Dr. Pomatter (I first watched this movie back in 2008 and watched it so many times but haven’t for years atm).

Mircea Monroe (Isobel Bradford), her partner Stephen Merchant appeared in Hot Fuzz as Peter Ian Staker/Mr. P. I. Staker (I feel like I know the characters in reality…minus the murder, as I’m from that region of England. I even live near(ish) to a village called Sandford).

Mircea Monroe - Wikipedia

Monroe was born in St. Louis, Missouri. Her first name Mircea is a traditionally male given name in Romania. She says her father chose the name to honor his favorite professor, Mircea Eliade, with whom he studied History of the Religions at the University of Chicago.[8] She lives with her long-term partner, English actor Stephen Merchant, in Nichols Canyon, Los Angeles.[1]

I’m loving that Isabel is coming back but I just hope that they don’t make Mircea Monroe play the jealous ex wife…again.

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen her in this kind of role twice now but the first character Mircea played like this that I saw, was Tansy Truitt in Hart of Dixie. Couldn’t stand her in that (not her fault, just the character). Please don’t be a third time!

I hope all will be good, jealousy wise, between Tim’s ex-wife and his future-wife. 🥰🙏

I also wonder if Lucy has kept in touch with Isabel, if only a little bit. This thought has only come to mind because of remembering Lucy got in touch with her to help Tim learn better when studying for his exams back in S2. Can see various funny moments going down between them in my head, if that’s the case, that they’re on good terms. If that is what has happened canonically, then Lucy has won the hearts of not just Tim, but Tim’s sister and Tim’s ex-wife (and Tim’s best friend if we’re including Angela)! 😄
