Yandere Big 3 version reaction of you wearing revealing clothing
Tumblr media
I know this is my 3rd time writing something out of @lets-get-kraken-boys fics but I just can't help it! (Well if she gets uncomfortable with it then yea
DISCLAIMER!!: This idea and concept is NOT MINE was inspired by this fic by @lets-get-kraken-boys please go read their work 1st for context!
Now just like Yan class 1a, they know exactly EVERYTHING about you to the day you brush your teeth or when you go to this exact cafe or store! These 3 know it all so when they saw your skirt riding up hair looking more gorgeous than ever your cleavage/pecs showing oh boy oh boy they were in it for a ride
Mirio was beaming red smiling uncontrollably tamaki was covering his face all red and muttering stuff while Neijire was squealing jumping up and down in delight while holding mirio's hand while he stood there
• Mirio was a blushing mess was red as a tomato, sweat all over his face whenever he tried to talk to you he cleared his throat tried he kept his composer he did! but your skin looks just so soft he imagines him just touching it gently caressing it against his hands he just wanted to squeeze and touch those soft pecs/cleavage while being wrapped around in those thighs! Whenever you tried to ask him about his behaviors he talked very fast to the point you could barely comprehend "What me? Nervous ahahahimfinejustfinenothingtobeworriedaboutactuallyjustfinejusthappymiriohere!" That was when you reached up to him the two of you were face to face he can clearly see your chest now your delicate hand was now on his forehead!?!?, Yep you done it, you broke him a good job! Now his face is red like a tomato hes talkijg fast again to the point you couldn't understand him, When Izuku told him you changed he didn't think this no wonder why he was flustered when he saw him! You look like an absolute god/Goddess! " you're gonna be hearing a lot of corny jokes and compliments from him and Neijire for the rest of the day
•Tamaki was just panicking a whole messing his mind was swirling all around with questions like "What are you wearing?!" "Are you trying to tease him" "Do you just love torturing him" he wanted to say how beautiful no.. how drop-dead GORGEOUS his flower is but all that came out were mutters and stuttering, he kept avoiding trying to look at your precious pecs/ cleavage just looking at them making him imagine him wanting to stuff his face in them all day while you wrapped your arms around him...which made him almost fainting having to lean onto mirio in case he had to faint, his sudden behavior which made you nervous a bit, and whenever you told him what's wrong he immediately panicked but Mirio managed to calm despise him being a blushing mess while neijire squealing, pinching your, cheeks and offering you to take pictures with her when he finally comes to his senses and calm, mirio then explained how he was just overwhelmed about how good you looked and he didn't wanna hurt your feelings at all! He did manage to say that you looked beautiful
Neijire was like a hyper-happy dog ready to pounce she's just devouring how Hot your outfit looks! Oops..did she say that out loud neijire is just GUSHING over you squishing your cheeks and praising you over and over again how Amazing you look! She started begging you to let her pick out the outfits for you she started to imagine you in various styles! Goth, scene, gyaru you would look good in everything! Her cheeks start to flush up just imagining you in cute stockings in a skirt or even big long boots and a suit and tie she's like you were a fashion idol and she was your number one fan! She just wanted to cuddle in your marvelousness and forget the day away or imagine herself in those cheesy romance mangas she reads! She tried to calm, down remembering not to scare her cute little lovebug
But that's when the three realized a bunch of students started staring at those parts as well blushing and some even drooling safe to say they were pissed the fuck off how DARE these nasty disgusting perverts to look at you in such a filthy way!?, Mirio took off his uniform jacket and put it on you and if you had a skirt neijire would wrap it around your legs and thighs and quickly escort you out the hallway while the 3 of them glared daggers at them if they ever took a single glance at you
That's when they all questioned about your sudden appearance were you late to school and you came out like that? They were starting to get nervous but that was when you started wearing these types of stuff frequently and started to change your hair a bit when mirio one day decided to ask you about this change you explained how you were tried looking like an introvert and wanted to express yourself! To try and look different thru quickly assured you that you looked beautiful in any way and they'll be right on your side supporting you
So not only you got your classmates drooling all over you but your senpais too!
Neijire would plan a shopping hangout for the 4 of you your classmates tried to join for themselves but got denied every time "Hey can I come with-" "Sorry this is a senpai-only trip! "They Let you pick any outfit you're comfortable with! And perform a mini fashion show!
They loved you just the way you are if you wanted to wear something less revealing their love for you never changes! Any outfit looks absolutely amazing on you!

MANGA SPOILERS, END OF BNHA
Lets start at the beginning, just to clear the air. A lot of fans (including myself at one point) thought mha was a story on how midoriya was going to become the number one hero. Which is incorrect
Tumblr media
He says ‘This will be my story, the journey to become the best of all heroes’. Now to clear the air again. At this time Midoryia was 14. The Midoryia that is narrating had graduated from UA, I'm sure there has been a time where he (Midoryia at 14)  said he wanted to become number one, but in that time that's all he knew. Him, Bakugou and all aspiring heroes at a young age assume to become the greatest is to become number one, When thats not the case at all.
When we first get introduced to this idea of true heroism is when we meet stain. We come to understand that iida’s motives to become a hero stems from his brother. Iida’s brother was left paralyzed via stain and unable to become a hero, this fueled iida’s passion to become a hero and to defeat the “hero killer”.
What stain says really changed the course of MHA
Tumblr media
(for context, before stains tries to finish iida off, he calls him and his brother weak. Iida, upset, yells at stain for calling his brother weak and defends his honor. Iida states ‘ill kill you’ to which stain replies, “Save him first”. Stain continues, telling iida that what he is doing is the furthest thing from becoming a hero.) Stain then recognizes Midoriya as a true hero. And iida starts to find his sense of heroism
Eventually class 1-A finds their sense of heroism one by one. Leading to Momo, Kirishima, Midoryia, and Iida all go against authorities and rescue Bakugou after the attack on the forest training camp arc.
The forest training arc had to be the most confusing for fans. This is because is Tsuyu Asui
A lot of fans (me included) wondered why Tsu compares the group to villains and discourages them from saving Bakugou. Well, this is the same reason why Mirio Toogata stopped Midoryia from saving Eri.
These characters both found heroism in a similar way. Both are taught to follow the hero code, wait until the authorities either handle the situation, or until they are called in for help.
THAT DOES NOT MAKE THEM BAD CHARACTERS!! Anyone that knows me KNOWS i love the big three. But this does make the story a little more interesting, you cant teach heroism.
Both Mirio and Tsu are left feeling guilty in the aftermath
Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Though they both felt distraught, we start to see Mirio and Tsu started to carve their path for heroism. Im not saying that Tsu and Mirio didnt have heroic traits since both are in the hero course to save others. But Midoryia demonstrated to them that to become a true hero is to act.
Lets talk about Dynamight
Bakugo has been with Midoryia since childhood, and has seen midoryia want to become a hero. Even when he is quirkless. It (in my opinion) is not an easy thing to grasp for Bakugou.
Imagine living in a world fulled with strong powers and amazing heroes. Where quirks that are “useless” dont get to become heroes, instead they have normal jobs. Crime is arising and heroes are fighting tooth and nail to save the world while losing loved ones in the process. You are now 4, and your quirk is explosion, you are praised by everyone since showing the classroom your new power. You can see it now, you becoming just as great as your idol. Imagine your face when you find out your best friend became unlucky, and became quirkless. Imagine your face when they still want to be a hero. Sounds like a death wish, right?
I feel like bakgou cares about midoryia. Does he have a wrong way of showing it in childhood, yes.
Baukgou states that he feels like hes always behind. Bakugou feels completely side wiped at the idea that his quirkless classmate actually had a very powerful quirk. This also makes him feel as though Midorya is the one looking down at him
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bakugou has shown the MOST character development i have seen in MHA. (my opinion of course). I think its very refreshing to see them both learn from each other. Dynamight learns to become a true hero and Deku learns courage.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[There are more examples of deku imitating bakugou.. I can not find them :( ]
I always see the same argument within the fandom, “Why does Mineta get to be in the hero course and not Shinsou”. Mineta has a strong physical quirk that allowed him to pass the entrance exam. (and not to mention he placed 9/20 in the end of the term test).
((To clear the air. i am NOT a Minteta fan. But the fans constantly fails to understand how he is in the hero course. it was never about 'How cool is your quirk?' it was 'Can you defeat a robot?'))
Tumblr media
I think what the fandom means to say is that quirks like Shinsou are often slept on.. But why?
In the society of MHA, there is a common conception that a strong quirk is the gateway to becoming a hero, especially number one. This is extremely emphasized when we are introduced to the entrance exam for Yuuei. This is completely rigged for characters with non physical quirks like; Aizawa, Shinsou, Monoma, and more.
Obviously this is not true. Even though he is not in the top 3, Aizawa has a powerful quirk that he had to learn how to strengthen and control on his own. He walked so that Shinsou can run.
The reason why i mention Monoma is because him and Shinou are very similar. They’re quirks depends on someone else. They can activate it all they want but if the recipient is not interacted with they are both ‘useless’.
I’m unsure if this is true, but I'm glad Monoma gets a statue. It opens up a window for those who don't have physical quirks. It shows that even they can become heroes.
In my opinion, Midoryia having a statute instead would not have been as impactful. It would have pushed the same narrative. Strong physical quirk = success. ((Also! did everyone just forget that Monoma literally carried the war along with Aizawa by keeping Shigaraki’s quirk erased and was able to copy Kurogiri’s quirk and teleport the heroes to the field?? That kid deserves a metal. ))
Tumblr media
The only sad feeling i have about the ending is Midoryia losing the embers. Seeing him grown up and releasing the gifted power as if saying “thank you” still brings me to tears. To see him hon the powers and get stronger then to release them will always stab me in the heart. BUT THIS ENDING MAKES PERFECT SENSE.
Why, would Midoryia, knowing the trouble it carries, the pain it can do to the human body, would give that quirk to another? Its a good ending to finally have that power rest. Imagine that quirk got passed on again. Whoever has it next would have become number one easily, society would have learned nothing.
Midoryia becoming a teacher at Yuuei, and trying to open his own hero agency is the perfect ending for my hero academia. Teaching and aspiring others with different quirks. And we all know how he loves learning about other quirks and mutations. This is perfect for him!
‘So.. it was all for nothing?’ you might ask. If you do believe everything Midoryia did was for nothing then im sorry, you did not watch My Hero Academia.
Midoryia did not become number 1. But he most definitely became the greatest hero.
If you think being the greatest means to be number one then you have completely lost the plot of My hero. Being number 1 is not about heroism, its statistics. When you start bringing numbers into this, it starts to become a job. When you start to want to become a hero only for money you are not a true hero. Uraraka joined because she needed money, but her point of view changed. Sure now she gets money but that's not her main focus anymore. She wants to save, she wants to help others like Toga. When you want to become a hero for fame like Denki, you are not a true hero. Denki’s focus has changed. This is exactly what Stain was talking about in the beginning, society creating fake heroes.
Tumblr media
Those are my thoughts. I love this anime so much please feel free to comment your thoughts and feelings

AU where Midoriya has a shark mutation Quirk
sharky boy!
1- Izuku has many shark-y characteristics, including multiple rows of very sharp teeth that he never has to brush, a dorsal fin, and skin that dries out rather easily. In order to be able to not be crushed by his own weight, Izuku does have bones and isn't all cartilige- but more cartiliage than a quirkless human for sure.
2- i dont know if he's a houndshark or catshark or leopardshark or whaleshark or some unindentifiable kind BUT hes def a kind with spots and speckles in place of his freckles.
3- His second favorite hero is Gang Orca, but All Might's still number one. he also honestly gets a little put out with how everyone expects Gang Orca to be his top favorite just because of how he looks, and not because Gang Orca is an incredibly talented hero who deserves it
4- Katsuki used to declare Izuku an adequate sidekick or slightly lower hero- able to reach double digit rankings one day, but not going to be able to beat him as the next Number One, and he was allowed to play hero with them as any other, but then Izuku annoyed him when he stopped him from going after weaker kids or derided them for their quirks, so Katsuki pushed back and they sorta... ended up with opposing cliques in middle school. Izuku doesnt really think its a clique and honestly doesnt dislike Katsuki so much as he's disapointed, but most mutation-type quirk kids flock to him, as well as though he defends or people too annoyed with Katsuki, where others flock to Katsuki. The teachers at Aldera are torn between seeing them both as troublemakers or potential heroes, so treatment swings wildly between classes.
5- After Mirio says 'no thanks' to OfA and the other 2 big three turn him down, All Might decides the third-years don't need it and bides his time to see if any other kids in the other grades make an impression. After the USJ, where Izuku planned with Tsuyu for him to get the lake villains to chase him away from the boat while she deployed their impromptu weapons and nets, and later bit two of Shigaraki's fingers off, he has... certainly made an impression.

I spend a lot of time harping on the disappointing and frustrating aspects of MHA, so I'd like to change gears and talk about some specific positives for me:
- Ida, Todoroki, and Izuku's friendship during and post Stain Arc. The way those three stuck together was just awesome, and we got the legitimately funny 'Hand Crusher' moment.
- Eri being 100% ride or die for Izuku. I'm not a fan of Eri (specifically her writing), but seeing her going so hard for Izuku in the light novels were the ONLY bearable moments for me.
- Kota becoming an Izuku fanboy and apologizing for how he acted towards him, specifically how he ran up to hug Izuku after the Dark Izuku Arc.
- All Might and Inko owning up to their mistakes and working to make up for them.
- The audience legitimately cheering for Sero after his match with Todoroki during the Sports Festival, seeing as how unfairly matched up they were.
- The OFA vestiges (for the most part) being genuinely kind and helpful towards Izuku, gently encouraging him to rest and not push himself during the Dark Izuku Arc
- Dark Shadow absolutely loving Izuku and being so gentle with him during 1A vs Izuku 🥺
- Aizawa FINALLY realizing how unfair and awful he'd been towards Izuku during the PLF War, specifically after hearing Izuku stand up for him
- AFO in Kamino Ward was badass. Enough said.
- Dadmight and Izuku. No other words needed.
- Ida comforting and reassuring Izuku that he'd always be there to help him during 1A vs Izuku.
- Endeavor actually realizing how awful he was towards his family, and Natsuo and Shoto being more or less allowed to feel conflicted/resentful of him.
Those are all very nice moments, I do have to say. I agree wholeheartedly with all of them.
Adding to that list, I love how the girls support each other. It’s such a good group dynamic and I love that despite their differences they all look out for each other and their friendship is strong.
I may criticize the plotline as a whole, but I do like that instead of turning on the Yuuei traitor they understood the traitor’s situation and promised to help the traitor with their issues. It was honestly really heartwarming.
I love Kaminari, Sero, and Kirishima’s adorkable friendship. They’re all so goofy together!
I love seeing Kirishima and Tetsutetsu’s bonding moment during the Sports Festival. Kiri definitely needed another friend and branching the gap between the (at the time) nebulous 1-B and our 1-A was really nice. (Plus the separated at birth theory makes me laugh. Too many coincidences! Get the string board!)
Eri SMILING and finally acting like a kid during 1-A’s musical number at the Culture Festival and making Mirio cry? That hit me right in the feels.
Speaking of Mirio, I love his friendship with Midoriya. He is the exact kind of friend he needed and he’s so goofy he makes me smile whenever we see him. The Big Three are honestly one of the better parts of the Academia part of the manga/anime.
This is a bit of a petty moment, but I’m petty and it makes me laugh: Overhaul’s whole cameo in the Lady Nagant arc. I personally despise him so seeing him so disheveled and bewildered all of the time gives me joy.
I LOVED Shuichi/Spinner’s loyalty/friendship with Shigaraki. He is such a ride or die friend and it made me smile every time he mentioned how much he was willing to do just to save him. It reminds me of how dedicated Iida/Todoroki were to save Midoriya from himself and it hits home that they’re effective foils of each other.
And of course, Uraraka and Midoriya’s bond is one of my favorite parts. Not only are they both super cute/adorkable, but they care about each other SO MUCH and it HEALS me to see them showing that.
There’s just so much good and while it frustrates me a lot due to the wasted potential I just can’t hate it, y’know? Not when there’s so many good parts to come back to.

Wings
Tumblr media
Chapter 3
Hero name=h/n...I'm working on chapter 4 that might be a finale
"Okay y/n one more round then we are done for the day…25 wing flaps…you got this," the rehab specialist cheered you on.
"Shit Mirio, I'm so exhausted, can we take a break?" You asked while trying to catch your breath. Taking a big gulp of water and smiling "that was awesome…well, back to work, gotta patrol tonight," you cheerfully said.
Walking up the stairs to your agency, you just preferred the stairs for some more exercise. Reaching your floor, you opened the door and was greeted by your receptionist. "Good morning Ms. H/n how are you today? You have 4 messages and here is your mail," the receptionist said while handing u/n the bundle of letters.
You walked to your office without looking up you were reading the letters and came to a halt when you saw a name that was in a red envelope it was Keigo Takami. You went into your office and closed the door behind you. You plopped on the office sofa and opened the red envelope. It contained a letter.
Y/n,
I know you didn't expect to hear from me ever again but, please hear me out. I've been searching for you ever since I woke up from the hospital. So I was shocked to hear you broke our bond and divorced me. Stop acting petty, what we have together is nothing, and I mean nothing can break that. I know you felt some kind of way from the actions I took but, you have to understand that Moni doesn’t have healing capabilities as you do. She would’ve been for sure disintegrated like nothing. Come back to me my dove, if you don’t then I’ll come to you.
Love,
Keigo
You crumpled up the letter and tossed it in the waste bin. Then you thought about it, you should keep it for some physical evidence in case this escalates. Sighing you called Fatgum.
“Hey Fatgum I’m not feeling too good do you think you can cover for me I need to go back home and need to rest,” you asked.
“I don’t see why not…get some rest y/n and see you tomorrow,” Fatgum replied.
You hung up and left the office. You flew back to your home and quickly locked all the doors and windows because God only knows he will try to find an opening if he found out where you lived. He already found where your agency is located.
You kept on thinking about Keigo and how he found you. Your phone rang with a private number you knew in your soul that it was Keigo. You pressed to decline than the phone tinged, it was a voicemail. You called your voicemail.
“You have one new voice mail,” the automated voice stated as it automatically played.
You heard the sound of traffic and some wind. Then you heard his voice.
“Hey y/n, it’s me…I think you left something at the hospital and I want to return it to you. I would return it in person considering I know where you work but, I think that my appearance would bring a lot of media people and I am in no mood to be in the papers. When you get this message please call me…I want to hear your voice” you pressed the number three to save it.
Pacing back and forth deciding to call or not to call, your anger got the best of you and decided to call and tell him in person that you don’t want anything to do with him. And, just to marry Moni. you dialed and he quickly answered.
“Hey…fancy you returning my call babe,” you heard a little happiness in Keigo’s voice.
“Why are you trying to contact me? We are divorced you know,” you answered, your left wing twitched.
“Nah, I don’t accept that y/n…besides the bond, we have,” Keigo was interrupted by you correcting him.
“Had…past tense Keigo,” you scoffed.
“Playing hard to get? I get ya… let's play…but, I’m warning you I never lose,” there was a slight threatening undertone to his voice.
“Your funny Keigo…you truly are…you thinking that I can’t fight? You think I am as helpless as a little bitch…oh speaking of little bitches…how is Moni? I think Moni would be upset if she knew you're contacting me,” you smirked.
“Oh come on sweetheart, do be like that…she was just a piece of pussy,” he playfully teased.
“Keigo, Keigo…your actions proved otherwise…besides she already confessed,” you chuckled incredulously. There was a thirty-second pause. You knew you had got him there.
“You won’t win y/n,” was all Keigo said.
“Is that a challenge Keigo?” you asked.
“Yes…yes it is,” was all he muttered out.
“Well then…challenge accepted,” you smirked. You heard Keigo ending the call.
The night was hot and humid due to the Summer weather. Your air conditioner was off because Keigo could easily exploit the noise in order to sneak into your house. Sweat started to trickle down your neck while you became stealthy in your movements because you didn’t know if he was around. You were startled when the phone pinged due to the text message from Keigo.
Unknown 10:34 pm: Damn y/n…it’s hot…why isn’t your air conditioning on…ah… no matter…my place is cold.
Even though it was scorching hot you still felt cold chills up and down your body. You answered back.
y/n 10:39 pm: Didn’t the commissioner warn you not to look for me? Are you pigheaded?
There was no reply but, a call and you quickly answered.
“You're coming home with me tonight,” Keigo said in a serious tone.
“You are in my element, ass wipe! You’ll never win,” you yelled into your phone.
“Temper, temper y/n…how about when we get home I’ll massage those pretty violet wings of yours and then…” Keigo trailed off.
“I am home dick…and if you attempt to enter my home, I will clip your fucking wings!” you threaten.
“Ohhhh…being so violent…that's so sexy baby, hope you can talk to me like that when I ram that sweet pussy of yours,” Keigo playfully chuckled.
“Ram my pussy you say…that’s laughable…not only do you have wings like a bird but, you have a bird cock,” you chuckled.
There was once again a long pause to the phone call.
“Awww…did I hit a very soft spot, you limp dick,” you playfully teased.
“We’ll see if I have a bird dick the moment I make your cunt my home,” he chuckled.
“What you don’t understand about me Keigo is that I am…” you said then hung up on him and whispered against his ear. “Stealth,” holding a serrated blade to his neck. Keigo swallowed hard.
“Well played pretty birdie but…” Keigo said while two of his feathers were aimed at your throat and you dropped your knife.
“I win,” Keigo smirked.
“Come on Keigo, let's play fair I’ll even make a deal with you,” you tried bargaining with him.
“I could always love games…and what's the deal?” Keigo was intrigued.
“Remember when we were teens? And how we snuck out and played hide and seek in the darkness…if I win then never contact me again and if you win you can court me once again,” you bargained.
Keigo thought about it and smiled. “Fine, I’ll play…location?”
“Where you lost humanity Keigo…The World Mall,” you answered.
“You're kidding me, right? That place is under construction,” he explained.
“Awww…Keigo…you could always change your mind and leave me the fuck alone,” you said giving him an option.
“Fat chance pretty birdie, when?” he replied.
“Tomorrow at midnight, oh by the way…don't be late,” you chuckled while walking back in and closing the door behind you.

CHAPTER V- DEKU
"He wants you to introduce Izuku to Sir Nighteye?"
Mirio finally told us the reason why All Might called for him. He left quickly early that day and when Mirio returned, it was time for classes and simply no time for gossip. So we opted to wait until we were back at our dorm.
"Oh right, the first years are allowed to work under agencies that would take them." Nejire remembered aloud, "But not a lot of heroes want to take in first years right now."
Tamaki nodded, "Fat Gum is also quite strict on who he's taking on especially after the attacks made to the hero class. Everyone is on high alert." He bit his lower lip and sighed, "But it will be such a loss if the first years don't get to experience what we have experienced before."
"He's right." Mirio started indulging on his rice, "I have been thinking about it and basically, I'll just have to introduce him to Sir. It will be up to Sir Nighteye if he'd want to have Midoriya around." Then he stopped to ask for my insight, "What do you think, Y/N?"
"You guys are right." Although work-study is such a pain to go through, especially when you're new to it, I think they have to experience it or else they'd lose a lot of valuable time. "But is this just for the boy or do you guys want to introduce the other students to your agencies as well?"
I looked at my friends. They all seem to be in deep thought. Their actions as the Big Three are so important that it can make or break their image.
Nejire pressed a finger on her chin, "We can. We have to but who should we choose?"
Tamaki sunk on his chair, already dreading it. "Troublesome."
"Maybe Eraser Head can help you pick. We can start of with a small number. I mean...if your agencies agree. Let's all ask first." I suggested, chewing on my rice. The Pro Heroes are the ones to allow them anyway, it will be out of our hands after introducing them.
"We can do that. Brilliant as always, Y/N!" Mirio agreed before going off for his third bowl of rice.
"I actually really like the frog girl." Nejire started musing, "And the gravity one, I think they're a perfect addition to the agency."
Then Tamaki breathed out, "They have a lot of classes to make up for, do you think they can do it?" He glanced at us with doubt heavy on his eyes.
"Well, if they want to, they can." I pointed out, finishing my dinner. "We have done it before. They can if they want to. Let's just try, okay?"
Not before long, I felt two strong arms wrap around my shoulders from behind.
"As always, she's right!"
In surprise, I hit Mirio's head with chopsticks. "Mirio Togata!" I yelled out in frustration. Everyone having dinner in the dorm started laughing at our antics. It was quite a habit for him to be physically clingy towards me and I would always be flustered. Everyone in class seem to find it amusing.
Mirio let me go before rubbing his ear, "Sorry." He sent me an apologetic grin. "I'm feeling quite touchy today."
***
Sir Nighteye glanced at us when Mirio finished. He leaned back on his chair before folding his long fingers on his lap, he was quiet.
"So you see, Sir, I bet he's going to be a great addition to the agency!" Mirio stood before him, completely unfazed under Sir Nighteye's scrutiny. "Do you think Y/N and I can bring him over tomorrow?"
Sir Nighteye then transferred his eyes to me. I could have buckled if not for the months of experience I have under him. "What do you think, North Star?" He raised an eyebrow.
"I have seen him before, Sir Nighteye. I think his aura will please you." I informed him, "Midoriya is an energetic boy. He analyzes and he catches on quickly." I had Mirio tell me all about the boy just in case Sir Nighteye would ask me about him.
I was right to come prepared.
Sir Nighteye then nodded, "Bring him over. I'll judge him for myself." He then turned back to his computer.
Mirio gave me a triumphant grin before we left Sir Nighteye's office. "Ah, that got me all sweaty!" He laughed as soon as we were out of the office. "I thought he was going to say no."
Bubble Girl glanced at us from her work station, "I was sure he'd say yes to you two." She gave us a thumbs up before turning her attention to me, "North Star, the additional Shie Hassaikai files are here."
Mirio perked up when he heard, "Is that the yakuza? Are we looking at their cases now?" I haven't exactly told Mirio about it since I don't have much details yet.
I nodded before taking the folder from Bubble Girl, "We're receiving reports of activity around the vicinity and Sir Nighteye wants to know what they're up to. We're suspecting two places where they are located but we can't be too sure unless I get to know one of their glows." I explained to Mirio, who was nodding in understanding.
Mirio asked for the file from my hand and I offered them to him, "So we already have information about them. What are we waiting for? We should go and investigate."
I shook my head, "Too early. Too soon. Sir Nighteye feels there is more to this than criminal activity."
"Specially after the incident with the League of Villains." Bubble Girl added. "Make sure you give Sir Nighteye the files immediately, North Star. We're still waiting for more."
"Sure thing, Bubble Girl." I took the file from Mirio and left them.
We were all early on the train the next day, as Nighteye's agency was an hour away from UA.
"Are you ready, Midoriya?" I glanced over the younger boy who was with us. Mirio looked at him too, flashing him a big confident smile.
"Ah, a bit nervous." Midoriya chuckled softly.
I gave him a smile, understanding how nervous he was. I was too when I first came to meet Sir Nighteye. Mirio also brought me to him simply because he talked too much about me when they first met. Sir Nighteye was curious about the star that Mirio kept on mentioning so I had to come over. He employed me right at that moment.
Mirio didn't have that problem since Sir Nighteye asked specifically for him. The reason why? We don't know but I had always assumed it was because Mirio reminded him so much of All Might.
"Just breathe in and breathe out. Don't forget." I shared the tip with him. Midoriya was hunched on his seat, giving me a sense that he was more worried than he let on.
Mirio leaned down a bit to join in on our conversation. Since I was not that tall, I could easily talk to Midoriya unlike him who had to bend down.
"Listen to Y/N, she gives awesome advice." Mirio winked at me and I rolled my eyes at his play flirting. "She's pretty too, don't you think?"
"Yes." Then Midoriya flushed, "Well, it isn't as though I think she's pretty and I want to be her boyfriend. I admire her and I think it is so amazing that you have such a talented girlfriend! I like you two together! Don't take it the wrong way, senpai!"
"Oh, no no...you have it all-"
But as to be expected, Mirio took it all in a stride, "I'm so lucky, aren't I?"
I wanted to hit him but we were in front of a first year so I will let it slide. But how can he not see how his words were affecting me? How can he not notice how my heart practically wants to jump over to him, offering itself to him?
Midoriya nodded enthusiastically, humoring Mirio.
"Do you like anyone, Midoriya?" Mirio changed the subject and I was just so grateful that he did. The entire train ride focused on Midoriya and the gravity girl that Nejire once mentioned during dinner.
When we arrived in the agency, Mirio and I reminded Midoriya that Sir Nighteye was a strict man but he honored energy and humor above all. If he wanted to be accepted, he had to make Sir Nighteye laugh.
I walked behind the two, putting my bag on my table just outside Sir's office, noting that the reports Bubble Girl usually leaves for me to discuss with Sir Nighteye were not there. Did she report to him herself?
When I jogged over to Mirio and Midoriya, we found Bubble Girl strapped to the tickle machine that Sir Nighteye had in his office. He only used it when things are boring and he needed to bring the humor back in his office.
"Just tell me what will happen, okay Mirio? I'll just check my e-mails." I whispered to Mirio as he and Midoriya watched the scene unfold.
I left Sir's office and went back to my table. Mirio was tasked to introduce the first year to the agency so I won't meddle anymore. I just hope Midoriya will do well on the first impression he will leave on Sir Nighteye. It was crucial.
After a few minutes, Mirio was escorting Bubble Girl out of the office.
"How was it?" I watched as Mirio helped Bubble Girl to her seat, since the other was out of breath.
"Ah, it isn't too good, Midoriya kind of offended Sir Nighteye." Mirio answered me, "They had a discussion about All Might and one thing led to another." It was a well-known fact that Sir Nighteye was a big fan of All Might - his office had a lot of memorabilia just in case someone forgets this fact.
And no one must bring up All Might unless they're ready for a heated discussion.
"Oh no." I bit my lower lip. Let's just hope you find your way out of this, Midoriya.
We heard movement in the office, I feared for the worst but knew Sir Nighteye was a rational man. As soon as the sounds died down, the three of us decided to interrupt.
"I'm hiring him, Mirio." Sir Nighteye announced.
I looked around the room, Sir Nighteye's All Might memorabilia seemed unharmed. There were foot tracks everywhere, even the ceiling. What were they-
Wait. Was he... Whatever Sir Nighteye told Midoriya to do, the young boy did it with the goal to not ruin the merchandise. I stared at the boy on the floor, wondering what kind of abilities he had.
As soon as Midoriya received the stamp, we started cleaning up.
"Sorry." Midoriya piped from the side, cleaning up his shoe prints from the wall. He and Mirio were straightening up the place while I fixed the documents - it was a good thing I know everything on these papers.
"Don't worry about it. You're gonna have such a great time here! Sir is an amazing mentor!" Mirio told him as he fixed the standee, "You alright there, star?" He glanced over to me, walking over and crouching down. "Wow, that's a lot of files. Do you need help?"
"No no, I'm good. Just make sure everything is okay." I told him without tearing my eyes away from the files in my hand.
"Why are you looking, Midoriya?" Beside me, Mirio was grinning from ear to ear at a flustered Midoriya.
"Nothing! I wasn't staring!" The boy denied pretty loudly.
I laughed at his obvious embarassment, does he act a lot like this when he's blushing?
"You're wondering how I managed to get such a pretty girlfriend huh? Or maybe why she even agreed to go out with me?" Mirio supplied different questions, "Or why I was calling her star?"
In his embarrassment, Midoriya managed to mumble, "The last one."
Mirio stood up, loving that he could tell the story again. While he answered the first year, Mirio went back to cleaning up. I listened to how he told the younger boy about the story of how we met, how amazed he was that I could always find him, and that I could tell where he was even when he was doing his best to hide from me.
His voice was always a mixture of being proud, and being ecstatic that he has met someone like me. It felt good that he always sounded that way whenever people asked, Nejire confirms that it was the same manner he answers even if I'm not around. She says that it was even more livelier especially if I'm not around.
And he always ends the story with the same statement he told Midoriya,
"As much as I want to hide myself from everyone else, star always sees me."

Izuku Midoriya vs Mirio Togata
POV Izuku:
It's not only naturally strong heroes at the top of the UA ranks. You made it to where you are now through hard work and determination! As one of the Big Three, you're closer to being the next number one hero, closer than any of the Pros!
You were chosen to be the original candidate as his successor... You're peerless, in both body and spirit. But All Might is convinced... that I can be the greatest hero! I will be the number one hero!
Togata's attacks are precision predictions refined by training. I can do that too... I have to! I'll absorb everything I can! I'll write down and learn every move of this fight! I have to get better if I want to become number one!
_
POV Mirio:
Your ridiculous goal, analytical skills and battle style... Huh, I have no doubt in my mind, Sir would like you. I'd love to help you out, but I think I'll take the win today!
Come on, Midoriya, you can't forget to smile! Sir says that all the time. Never forget about the humour! Remember this was just a practice match, not the end of the world. So let's laugh together. Haha!
You're pretty smart, but even if you try to plan and accurately guess where I appear with my quirk... You're still gonna lose, I've trained time and time again to punish those counters. This is what it means to turn experience into power!

Their Hero Academia - Chapter 96: Towering Inferno
Continuing my nextgen MHA fic!
Earlier chapters can be found here or by searching the “their hero academia” tag.
As soon as the Green Dagger gave the start signal, the four towers exploded into a flurry of action, with the students from the starting groups scattering like spooked cats, trying to get their bearings. They only had three minutes before the Shiketsu students would be released. Two minutes after that, they would have to contend with the U.A. students. And two minutes after that, SSZ would be unleashed upon the field.
It took Izuku back to his own school days, and the Licensing Exams, both the Provisional and Professional one. Everyone was so desperate to prove themselves and that could easily override more critical thinking skills. If someone was being completely objective, the smartest move would be to stake out the door and mob the competitors entering later. On the other hand, that would require teenagers being pushed into competition with one another choosing to cooperate with students who were ultimately the opposition, and he just couldn’t see that happening this early.
He sighed. He’d been at this for more than two decades, and in that time there had been a shift in how Hero society functioned in Japan. There was certainly still a degree of competition for rankings among Heroes, but the rankings weren’t treated with quite as much importance these days (He honestly hadn’t tried to take All Might’s place as the new Number One. That had just kind of happened! He was grateful to trade it off with Mirio sometimes).. And cooperation was way up compared to when he was a kid, with many Hero teams and partnerships out there.
But at the end of the day… it was still human nature to want to be the best, to be the star. He’d half stumbled into his own fame, but for the countless others in the profession, well, sometimes it was a struggle for a Pro-Hero to even get recognized. Throw a bunch of teenagers together like this and their own victory was going to be first in their minds. Add in the public hierarchy with U.A. and Shiketsu as the big two Hero schools in Japan, and the mix of animosity and envy towards SSZ as ‘outsiders’ and ‘the elite’, and it was all but certain.
Multiple screens around the area displayed different views from the four towers. In the upper left of the towers, tagged as Tower One on the big screen, Izuku watched as the red Seijin ninja found himself being backed into a corner by the girl from Seiai who was generating tendrils made out of some kind of energy. She’d created eight of them all together and while he’d pulled a weapon from within the folds of his uniform—some kind of kusarigama—he was just barely able to parry her attacks.
If Izuku remembered right, the ninja’s Quirk was touch-based. He’d taken down Toshi with it, at least. A bad matchup for him, then. He tried not to smile as one of the Seiai girl’s tendrils slipped past his guard and smacked the sensor on his chest. It let out a high pitched beep and started blinking red.
Above the monitors showing the towers, there were scoreboards, showing the competitors, grouped by school. A red x appeared next to the red ninja’s name.
This was the tower Toshi had been assigned to, so it was where he was going to be paying the most attention.
In the meantime, the Ketsubusu student who was dressed like an old-timey circus strongman had made his way to a higher level. But the strongman didn’t see Kayda Tsuchinoko, the daughter of Tsu’s friend Habuko Mongoose, sneaking her way through the rafters. The Ketsubusu student was strong, but so was Tsuchinoko’s snake tail. If she could take him by surprise, she might have a chance.
Tower Two was going to be one to watch as well. With both Nozomi and Haimawari in it, the action was likely to be fast and furious. There, a Seiai girl had fled from the action and retreated to the top floor. From there, she’d activated her Quirk and was projecting her consciousness into a construct made from the material of the tower. If she could keep her actual body protected, she stood the best chance of running roughshod over everyone else.
Which could be a challenge in and of itself. The Ketsubusu boy in the costume with the arrows has some kind of “push” power, while the girl from Isamu Academy had force blasts, making them well balanced against each other. Both were currently running and gunning, exchanging blasts and dodging the buzzsaws thrown by the green Seijin ninja.
Tower Three, at least objectively, seemed like a broader mismatch of abilities, and was also tilted towards female competitors. Other than Shinji and Ushimaru, everyone there was female. The girl from Ketsubusu had some kind of mental Quirk. She’d been able to make the others run away from her at the outset, but he hadn’t gotten a good look at what she could do at any point in the Festival so far. The Seiai girl had whipped up a cloud of steam, obscuring the entirety of the first floor. The Isamu Academy girl was firing nets randomly in the cloud, hoping to hit someone. Meanwhile, the purple Seijin had pulled a chain from her arsenal and had animated it with her Quirk, turning it into a makeshift fan to give herself a bit of space. There weren’t any clear winners here, at least as far as Izuku was concerned. But Shinji would likely waste little time in dominating the field once he was released.
At least Tower Four was a little more mixed. The Ketsubusu samurai, his armor freshly repaired from Mineta’s kick, had leapt right into the fight, using his energy slashes to scatter the rest. The animal shifter from Isamu Academy had given himself ape-like characteristics and was hanging from the exposed rafters, dodging out of the way of the Seijin ninja’s fireballs. And the Seiai girl was using her heat-generating touch to do damage to the steps, keeping the others from following after her. Kocho was in this one, and her Quirk would give her lots of advantages here. But so was Tatsuma. From what Izuku had seen in the first event, there might not be anything left by the time the others were released.
“We’ve seen first blood drawn already, but things are about to get more intense! It’s time for Shiketsu to join the fight!” Present Mic’s voice rang out.
***
Mika fought down the urge to cheer as Shinji rushed out. It probably wasn’t good to be rooting for the competition, even if the competition was your giant and super hot boyfriend.
“Can’t believe they’re making me wait,” Spencer grumbled. He looked over to the Festival worker monitoring them, who was staring intently at a countdown displayed on a handheld device. “You sure I can’t forfeit my advantage here?”
The worker shook his head. “Sorry kid, rules are rules.”
Spencer kicked the ground in frustration. “Aw, dagnabbit.”
“What, don’t you want to spend more time with me?”
“Later, Mimi,” he replied, giving her a charming smile that made her heart do a few flutters. “Never mix business and pleasure. And the business here’s fighting.”
Outside, Shinji was more than proving his power. He’d opened with a massive blast of wind, blowing all of the steam out of the tower. The girl from Seiai with the net launching Quirk made the mistake of attacking him head-on, firing a pair of nets from the openings in her hands. Shinji just threw back his head and laughed. She couldn’t hear it, but she knew the body language well enough. He threw his arm up in an arc, letting loose a mini tornado almost as tall as he was. It raced out and sucked up the nets and slammed right into the girl, setting off one of her sensors and throwing her into the nearby wall.
The Seijin purple ninja was a little smarter, trying to sneak up behind him. She used her object control Quirk to send one of her chains to wrap him up, pinning his arms to his sides.
Under most circumstances, that would probably have been a smart move. Shinji did use his arms to help direct his Quirk. But that was all it did. Direct his Quirk. He had more than enough control with it to fly, after all. A fierce wind whipped up around his body, pushing the chains away before shattering them.
Shinji was big. And he was loud. And he laughed often. Those were the things people saw, forgetting that Shiketsu was at least as difficult to get into as U.A. and even more rigorous in how it policed and educated its students. It got people to badly underestimate him.
Unlike Mika, it wasn’t something he purposefully cultivated. It was just how things worked out. And it had worked out to his advantage here.
The worker’s device beeped. “Mineta, you’re up in five seconds. Get ready.”
Mika gave Spencer a kiss on the cheek. “I’ll try and leave you somebody to fight.”
The Texan grinned, teeth bared. “Mmm, you’re too good to me, Mimi.”
***
Once, when she was small, Koharu had been channel chasing and had caught a few moments of a sci-fi horror movie, where some terrible monster had gotten loose inside of a space station. It had slaughtered most of the crew and had been chasing the remaining members around. It had been absolutely inappropriate for a child and had given her nightmares for weeks.
When the Nomu had dropped out of the sky during her internship, she’d felt a very similar fear.
What she saw when she flew out of the gate wasn’t quite that bad… but only by a few degrees.
Tatsuma, in her full draconic form, stomped heavily after the competitors from Seiai and Seijin. The samurai from Ketsubutsu was already on the ground, all three of his sensors blinking. His armor had been shattered again, his helmet lay a few feet away, and his sword had shattered itself on her scaly hide. She felt bad for the guy. He’d tried his best to stand his ground, and he’d gotten curb-stomped for it.
The girl from Seiai was just flat out running now, while the Seijin ninja was trying to pepper Tatsuma with fireballs. But using fire against a dragon was just as ineffective as it sounded; the attacks splashed against her scales like nothing.
Tatsuma had one sensor somewhere on her back, between her wings, one on her upper right arm, and one on her stomach, as though daring someone to get close enough to try and hit it. With the increased size of her dragon-form, it made for a very small target.
The shapeshifter from Isamu Academy seemed to have made himself scarce. Koharu couldn’t blame him.
Maybe she ought to just fly to the top? Once she had a high enough vantage point, she could spread her scales and unleash some of her powders over the whole thing....
A screech like a bird of prey shattered any thoughts of strategy right before something slammed into her.
***
“Stand still, dammit!” the girl from Isamu Academy shouted, filling the air with force blasts. She was getting madder and madder, barely even bothering to aim her shots.
Sorry!” Isamu shouted back at the girl from his namesake school. “Can’t do that!” He kept himself slow, zipping along the ground, moving side to side at the same time. It was a lot of concentration, but so far he was managing
He could understand her desperation. She was down to her last sensor. The Ketsubusu guy had gotten both her and the green ninja with a massive spray of scrap from his repelling power. Isamu’d nearly gotten hit then as well, but had managed to push his repulsion field out through his whole body, protecting himself.
Pow! He slammed into the Isamu Academy girl’s legs, flipping her over his back and knocking her down. He spun around, slid into a stop, and stood. There. Her last sensor was on her upper left arm. He charged up a low level pulse and fired it off with a soft pup. The energy pulse splashed into the sensor and set it off with a high pitched beep.
“Damn…” the girl groaned.
But he didn’t have time to rest or celebrate his victory. The sound of metal on metal made him spin. He had just enough time to throw himself out of the way of a punch thrown by the Seiai girl. Or rather, by the construct body she was controlling with her Quirk. He rolled and fired a volley of energy pulses at her as he came up, but it did nothing to slow her down. Behind him, he heard the Isamu Academy girl running away.
He kept the volley up, a constant barrage of shots, but she just kept walking, slowly pushing against them.
Wait! This was just a construct, right? He gained next to nothing by fighting it. It didn’t have sensors, her real body, wherever that was, did. They were on the second floor of the tower, and he knew at least some of the fighting was on the ground floor. If she was smart, she’d have gone to high ground…
“And now it’s time for SSZ!” came the voice of Present Mic.
The chill that ran up his spine had nothing to do with fear. Definitely not. Not at all. Nope.
A high pitched whistle made everything stop.
“What the hell is that?” the construct demanded, stopping suddenly. She looked around in alarm.
Oh shit,” Isamu thought.
“A nightmare,” he said out loud.
***
“HAAAARRRAAAH!” the Ketsubusu strongman let out a roar, his muscles becoming even bigger than before. He swung a meaty fist in a wide arc, but Toshi was already moving before the blow could hit him.
A quick gravity bounce sent him up and over the bigger student and as he dropped, he increased his gravity and kicked, slamming his feet into his back. It sent him flying, but didn’t knock him down. And unfortunately, the sensor there’d already been triggered, probably when Tsuchinoko had gone after him. So all it bought him was time.
The strongman spun and growled, dropping into a fighting stance. “Pretty fancy footwork, Mini-Deku. Your dad teach you that one?”
“Actually, no,” Toshi replied. He bounced lightly on the balls of his feet. A lot of his fighting style came from Great-Grandpa Torino, studying what little footage there was of the man. He couldn’t match Nozomi’s mid-air redirection, but he could bounce just fine.
He launched himself, towards the nearest wall at low gravity and bounced off it, launching himself at the wall on the opposite side. There, he bounced again, towards the back wall and back towards the muscleman.
Despite his size, the Ketsubusu student was faster than he looked. He spun and caught Toshi’s head in his hand, swinging him around and slamming him into the wall. Stars exploded behind Toshi’s eyes for a second. He’d been cycling his gravity up in prep for impact and the guy’d still managed to fling him around like it was nothing.
“Imagine somebody like me getting one over on somebody like you,” the strongman said. He cracked his knuckle. “I’m going to enjoy this.” He flexed again, growing even more muscular still. Once more, he let out a bellow.
“HAAAARRRAAAH!”
“HAAAARRRAAAH!”
Both of them stopped at the second scream, which was tinny and high-pitched, a sound like a cartoon mouse would make.
Both Toshi and the Ketsubusu competitor looked behind him to see… a miniature version of the Ketsubusu student, maybe only about waist high, flexing and letting out another tiny bellow of rage.
“HAAAARRRAAAH!”
The tiny version let out another warcry, before breaking out into laughter. Both Toshi and the Ketsubusu student could only watch with fascination as his body stretched and reshaped itself, into a muscular, dark-skinned boy. It was the shapeshifter from SSZ, the one who’d been clowning around during the opening ceremonies by turning into Quirky the Quirkasaurus. Not quite the same, but still clearly the same person. The crowd was audibly in hysterics.
Everyone continued to stare at each other for a moment, before the shapeshifter broke into a toothy grin and laughed, throwing his head back, before doubling over with laughter. “Sorry,” he said after a moment, “but I just could not resist. You should have seen your faces!”
“What?” the Ketsubusu strongman said, flatly.
The shapeshifter cut off his laughter and pointed at the strongman. “You! That’s what you look like. All brute force and no style. Where’s your sense of showmanship? You dress like you’re part of the circus, but you have all the charm of a drunken office party!” The strongman seemed to deflate slightly.
Toshi, however, was quicker to recover his wits. And with one of the Ketsubusu guy’s sensors exposed now that his attention was on the shapeshifter, he increased his gravity and drove a punch right at it.
THWACK!
The impact sent the Ketsubusu strongman flying.
Toshi spared the shapeshifter a quick glance. His form was changing again, but Toshi couldn’t tell into what, just that it was horrible. “Sorry,” Toshi said, “but I… gotta bounce!”
Shifting his gravity, he launched himself into a bounding jump to put some distance between him and the shapeshifter.
As he bounced away, he could hear the shapeshifter call out. “I will give you a five second head start just for that pun!”
***
Koharu slammed the heel of her hand into the nose of the Isamu Academy animal shifter, forcing him to release her from his taloned feet. He looked disoriented, flapping his wing-arms hard, as though staying airborne was all he could manage. She hadn’t broken his nose–thank goodness–but that had definitely hurt. His Quirk didn’t seem as versatile as SSZ’s shapeshifter; it looked like he could only take on animal characteristics, like she’d seen him do back during the first event. That was something, at least. It meant there were limits.
He’d put his sensors all on his front. One on each shoulder and one dead center of his chest. While he was still stunned, she fired a blast of String Shot at him, hitting him with enough mass to knock him back as it expanded into a net. It hit him dead on in his center mass, triggering the sensor and pinning him to the wall.
He struggled against it for a moment before his shape began to change again, taking on the muscles and dark fur of a gorilla. Before, her String Shot and Mineta’s balls had pinned him pretty decisively. Here, he had more leverage and her String Shot began to tear.
Which was when the rumbling started. She was flying, so she couldn’t feel it, but she could certainly hear it. And worse, the whole structure seemed to be suddenly shaking.
The sounds of battle that had been filling the structure had come to a clumsy halt. Just moments ago, she’d been able to hear Tatsuma’s heavy footfalls on the floor above and the screaming of the other competitors as they tried to avoid her or stop her without success. The sound of her flame breath had been even scarier, truth be told.
What she hadn’t heard or seen, she realized, was SSZ’s competitor entering the tower, even with the doors open. Maybe she’d just been distracted by her own fight, but she didn’t think so.
She’d seen Torino and Ushimaru during the first event and the other boy was a very good shapeshifter. The other girl had some kind of water power, right? She remembered it now, the girl rolling out like a small wave during the opening ceremony.
If the ocean ever disappears, don't go looking for it.
It was a lesson drilled into every school child, especially those who lived in coastal cities and island communities.
“High ground!” she yelled. “Get to higher ground!” She flapped her wings hard, heading for the staircase. Going outside would make her too exposed.
“What?” the animalistic shapeshifter asked, confused.
Over her shoulder Koharu could see the arena floor had been ripped open, and a massive wave of water was spilling out from the entry gates, flooding the first floor. The Isamu Academy student was swept away and slammed around. And worse, the water was following her, heading up the stairs!
***
“That’s where you put your sensors?” the purple ninja demanded. One of hers was already glowing. “What is wrong with you?” She’d ditched her chain weapons from earlier and now held a pair of boomerangs. But she also had the high ground, so to speak, having been coming down the stairway as Mika was going up it.
Spencer and Shinji had been going at it when she’d left the bottom floor. And not in the hot way she’d had liked to see and would hopefully be dreaming about tonight. She and everyone else down there had wisely decided to scatter from the ensuing slugfest.
“What?” Mika asked, batting her eyelashes innocently. So she’d put two of her sensors on her boobs and the other on her butt. Psychological warfare was a legitimate tactic for keeping people from trying to touch them! And the officiants hadn’t said a word about it, even if they’d given her a look, so obviously it was fine, right? She was reasonably sure it was fine.
Also, she hadn’t completely heard the ninja over the howling of the wind and the way that ninja mask muffled her speech. Plus there was some kind of rumble and shaking that she didn’t know the cause of. But she was very good at reading people’s reactions to her antics.
The ninja threw her boomerangs, which were glowing as they left her hands. Mika dodged under them, firing off a volley of her balls. The ninja dodged as well, so that all they did was hit the wall. “Guess we both missed,” she started to say.
SMACK!
Something slammed into her ass, making her yelp and her sensor there go off. The boomerangs sailed around her, landing back in the ninja’s hands.
Right. Boomerangs came back. And an object control quirk. Stupid!
“Hey, at least buy me dinner first!” she yelled, firing more balls at the ninja.
“By the gods,” the ninja said, “Don’t you ever shut up?!” She dodged the volley, but one of the balls struck one of her boomerangs, knocking it out of her hand. The ninja let out a cry of pain and tucked her hand against her body.
It was just the distraction Mika needed. “Only if my mouth’s otherwise occupied!” Mika brought her head low and charged up the steps, catching the ninja off guard as she headbutted her in the stomach.
Mika kept her speed up, hooves clanging on the metal of the steps, until she reached the top of the stairs. She stopped suddenly there, letting momentum launch the ninja. She landed on the ground in a heap, another of her sensors now blinking.
~*F~*E~*A~*R~*~
It hit her like a blow to the head. Sudden, overwhelming, fear. No, not fear. Terror. The kind of fear reserved for a plant eater suddenly sensing a wolf. The kind of fear that provoked stampedes out on the prairie. The kind of fear that stirred up something ancient and primal in her, and played the sound of ancient hoofbeats in her mind.
Mika ran.

Deku being the Symbol of Hope or not, operations at Might Tower were played fairly close to the vest, and as a result, information about what students had interned there recently wasn’t publicly available. The I. Island footage on the other hand, was all over the internet, if you knew where to look. A lot of it was about as high quality as Bigfoot sightings, but if you knew what you were looking for, there were things that stood out.
The same things that had been standing out in public footage of the Shield for a little while now. One For All was about as well understood as the inside of a cat’s head, but Nana Shimura and Sorahiko Torino had kept careful records of everything they’d been able to learn. And all of that had been passed down to The Six Wind Hero - Cyclone, Nozomi Torino. The moth girl was worthy of closer inspection at another time (she’d received Uncle Izuku’s approval, after all), but right now, she was in the same field as Haimawari. She’d agreed to participate in the National Festival partially because the Headmaster requested it, and partially as a training exercise for herself, but now her priorities had shifted.
“Six seconds until entry.” She took a few rapid breaths as the officiant gave her the warning, stretching her lungs.
None of the competitors in the tower had been eliminated yet, and from the screens available, and what she could hear, she was fairly certain she had a fixed location on where her target was.
The roar of the crowd swelled, but her focus remained on the countdown “--one, and… go!”
A high-pitched whistle tore through the air, the exhaust ports her Quirk left across her skin tearing against the air as she burst out of the starting gate. Most of her propulsion came from the soles of her feet, but the ports on her arms allowed her to fine tune her steering. No sooner had the excitement of her and her teammates entering pushed the crowd into further enthusiasm, she clocked the glint of a metal blade flying at her. The ninja student had let themself fall behind as the fighting headed up the stairs, likely waiting to ambush new entrants. A reasonable tactic.
Unfortunately, it meant he was between her and her objective.
The propulsion from her feet abruptly cut off, and she expelled air from one side of her arms, flipping her harshly over the path of the incoming weapon. Her mid-air position was an awkward sight to behold, but she simply let out another blast from her feet and resumed her forward path. She pivoted again, diving under a second blade, then shoved her palms into the ground. Another blast of air, and she flew upwards into her attacker.
“Oh for fu–”
Whatever the Seijin student was about to say turned into something you might hear from a children’s squeaky toy, as Nozomi’s fist met his abdomen. Nothing added from her Quirk except the momentum behind her flight path. ‘Practical training’ was what Uncle Izuku used to jokingly call her signature uppercut. For a brief moment, she could feel the shape of his ribs against her wrist, before the impact sent the boy flying away from her. She hadn’t hit a sensor, but maybe the impact would trigger one of them. Not her concern.
The ‘pup’ of Haimawari’s Quirk was audible one floor up, interspersed with heavy crashing sounds. Not easy to hear, but if you were already listening for it, you could catch it. He hadn’t pressed his advance further yet.
A floor to ceiling bounce let her build up speed before she flew up and just beyond the edge of the tower, grabbing onto an edge to come swinging around. And there he was. Haimawari, fighting some creature made of garbage.
“Hey, U.A.” It wasn’t the teasing tone she reserved for Toshi, and she certainly wasn’t smiling the way she did for him. She landed in a crouch at the edge of the floor, and shifted into a runner’s starting stance.
“I’ve got something to find out from you.” She took a deep breath, and a thought and a split-second scream later, the distance between the two of them vanished.
***
As Toshi headed for the next set of stairs, something thick and warm wrapped around his body. Not the shapeshifter from SSZ. He’d left him behind when the red ninja had interrupted their chase. The laughing shapeshifter had said something about not being able to resist messing with such a humorless guy.
Toshi looked down to see red, scaly coils wrapped around him, leading up to the ceiling, where they were attached to a red-haired girl in place of legs, who was hanging in the rafters. Kayda Tsuchinoko. They’d met a few times over the years, though the last time was probably more than five years ago, owing to their families mutual friendship with Aunt Tsu and Uncle Rikido, but he wouldn’t say he really knew her. Sato probably did.
“Midoriya, right?” Tsuchinoko asked. “Can’t believe I actually caught you. That’s going to win me some prestige back at school even if I don’t win this thing!”
Toshi tensed against her coils. Contrary to how it often looked, he didn’t actually have super-strength. He just used his ability to adjust his gravity to give power to his punches or his jumps, but he couldn’t actually lift a car over his head or break out of chains or anything like that.
Beep!
The tip of her tail pressed against the sensor on his chest. She’d missed the others, at least.
“Good job!” he said. And it was. He hadn’t been looking up. A big mistake, obviously, and she’d taken advantage of it.
“But not good enough!”
He canceled his gravity just enough to make himself float and activated the CO2 jets in his boots. He hadn’t used them during the first event, because he only had a limited supply and because they’d been out in the open, where it was easy to get around by jumping. The sudden acceleration was like being shoved forward by being hit by a truck, but Tsuchinoko let out a yelp. She was dragged from her position in the rafters and trailed behind him, still wrapped around his middle.
As the edge of the Tower approached, he cut his jets and returned his gravity to normal, landing on his feet. He increased his gravity to turn himself into the unmovable object and Tsuchinoko snapped around him, her tail releasing as her upper body went flying by.
Toshi grabbed her tail as her upper body went sailing out into the open air and let himself fall backwards, dragging her back inside. He released her and got quickly to her feet.
She stared at him with eyes with slit pupils. “You saved me? Why?”
Why had he done that? It would have been a nice, easy victory. One person closer to guaranteeing he’d be in the final round. But…
“My body just moved on its own,” Toshi said. “Instinct, I guess.”
“Still got me, though,” Tsuchinoko said. She pointed to a sensor on her tail. “Guess even an accidental tag counts.”
They probably should have fought. It was the smart thing to do. To try and get another strike in that way.
But…
Toshi gave her a smile, before bouncing off. “Good luck!”

As Koharu flew, the water followed. It has swept up the Isamu Academy animal shifter (who’d managed to survive by taking on shark characteristics) and slammed him into a wall, setting off one of his sensors. And it had continued to flow even as she’d climbed higher.
It was only when she reached the top floor, open to the sky, that she understood the severity of what had happened. Up in the air, she could see the arena itself had been damaged. The ground had been torn up and exposed pipes shot water into the air in pitiful sprays. The water girl from SSZ – Amani, that was her name – must have pulled more water from the plumbing in order to get that much liquid.
A stupid part of her brain wondered if the toilets were still working after that stunt. Another part called it all overkill. And yet a third wondered if SSZ taught its students to use such over the top measures or if it was just Amani. And then she remembered Ushimaru and Torino, and decided that making that big of an impact might just have been their thing.
Other than the Ketsubusu samurai, who’d been eliminated early, and the Isamu Academy shapeshifter, it looked like everyone else had made it to the roof. Tatsuma was there in her dragon form, the girl from Seiai with the heat touch, and the blue ninja with his fireballs. Tatsuma’s sensors were completely untouched, but both of the others had only one left.
In a show of surprising teamwork, the Seiai girl dropped to her knees and unleashed a wave of heat into the roof, projecting it towards the stairs. Tatsuma and the ninja both unleashed their own firepower on the advancing water as well. It sizzled and steamed, but still rose up in a massive column. It towered over them for a moment, before it came crashing down.
The Seiai girl was swept away, falling off the tower. She screamed as she fell, making Koharu wince in sympathy. That was a long way down. The ninja was swept away too, but he pulled a grappling hook from somewhere and threw it, snagging a spot along the edge of the tower.
And Tatsuma? She stood there and took all of it, not being moved in the slightest. The only thing she did to defend herself was to flip her wings in front of herself, protecting her sensors. It was impressive and terrifying all at the same time.
The water pooled and pulled itself towards one spot, rising up and becoming Amani, now magnified in scale enough to look the dragon in the eyes. Koharu couldn’t make out any sign of the SSZ student inside the mass, it seemed that she wasn’t just controlling the water, but was one with it. Midoriya would probably have some really helpful insight as to what that meant and how to counter it, but she was at a loss. Amani and Tatsuma were sizing each other up, like a pair of wolves who had suddenly stumbled into each other’s territory. Tatsuma’s throat swelled as she drewin a breath, preparing to let loose another fire attack, while Amani’s enlarged figure  once again collapsed into a roiling mass of water, only her head visible. All three of her sensors floated and bounced inside her watery mass.
This was not a fight she stood any chance in. Both of them outclassed her on every possible level. Neither of them were even paying any attention to her, even though her instincts were screaming that would change in an instant if she made a move on either of them.
But…
She flapped hard, flying past them. As she did, she released a cloud of her Paralytic Powder. It probably wouldn’t do anything to either of them, but at least it would make her feel like she’d done something.
She swooped down outside the tower, to where the blue ninja was pulling himself back up. She flapped her wings harder, arms extended out in front of her, as she dove towards him.
“Hai-yah!” With one hand still hanging onto his climbing rope, he threw a volley of fireballs at her with his other.
Internally thankful for the flying drills she’d been put through at the training camp, Koharu dodged them easily. Down to his last sensor, he was getting desperate, his aim erratic. And then she flared her wings, flipping upward, and slowing her descent. As she did, she unleashed her sleep powder, filling the air with orange-yellow powder. His mask helped him some. Most people went to sleep almost immediately, but he was able to throw another few fireballs, his aim even worse than before. His other hand began to slip, until, finally, he started to fall.
She swooped down again, and grabbed his arm, bringing him to a stop with a sudden jerk. His sudden weight made her wings ache as she fought to keep from dropping. Gritting her teeth, she brought them both into the third floor of the tower and dropped him on the still wet ground. His last sensor was on his head, attached to the side of his ninja headgear. She gave it a hard slap. It let out a high pitched beep and she breathed a sigh of relief.. The ceiling dripped on her head.
“That’s three eliminated for Tower Four!” came the voice of Present Mic. “And… Amani has walked off the tower? Talk about making a splash!”
“Yes, but I don’t think Tatsuma liked that, Mic… But with Shiketsu, SSZ, U.A., and Isamu Academy in the final round for this tower, she’s likely to get a second chance to even the score!
***
Driven by unrelenting fear, Mika took a running leap off the side of the tower and began to fall. In that instant, all the induced and irrational fear vanished, leaving her mind as clear as it ever was.
***
(Back at U.A., Chihiro Kaminari suddenly felt the urge to make a sarcastic comment and wasn’t sure why.)
***
Unfortunately, it was replaced by very real and very rational fear. Mika was a tall girl, with dense bones and muscles, and ample amounts of body fat in a number of places considered conventionally attractive by society. All of which meant that she fell very quickly.
Okay brain, she thought, I know I’m usually drowning you with thoughts of hot bodies, but right now, I can’t boobily breast my way out of this, so I need you to do math. You’re falling at x speed, the floors are x meters apart, angle of descent…
She quickly fired a number of balls from her horns, covering the ground below.
BOING!
Grateful for the fact that she didn’t stick to her balls (No, no time to laugh!), Mika instead bounced off them like a trampoline, hitting at just the right angle that she went sailing back into the ground floor of the tower. She slid along the floor until she collided with the central pillar.
“Let’s… not do that again,” she said, quickly getting back on her hooves.
There wasn’t anyone near her on the ground floor at the moment and she was ashamed to admit she’d lost track of who’d been tagged and who hadn’t. She could still hear the sounds of high-speed winds, backed up by a booming laugh, which meant Shinji was still in the game at least. The sound of heavy footfalls, like hammers on anvils, accompanied by delighted Texan yelling, told her that Spencer probably was too.
Quickly, Mika peered around the central pillar to check the other side of the floor. There, as she’d expected, Shinji and Spencer were still duking it out.
“Holy hurricanes!” Shinji bellowed. “I haven’t had this good a fight since I went up against Tatsuma! You are indeed a worthy adversary, friend!”
He shot both arms out, unleashing a massive funnel of wind.
Spencer, meanwhile, was glowing as he ran headlong into the funnel, his arms out in front of him. The wind funnel brought him to a stop momentarily, the glow around him getting brighter as he pushed against it. Little by little, he was actually making headway against the gale, his feet actually leaving footprints in the metal floor.
“You ain’t… so bad… yourself… pardner,” Spencer grunted. He started glowing brighter as he pushed forward.
Shinji planted his feet and kept up the blast of wind for another moment, until he abruptly stopped. Spencer, surprised by the lack of resistance, tumbled forward. Meanwhile, Shinji sidestepped him and thumped him on the back as he stumbled past him, hitting one of the three sensors that were in a triangular shape on Spencer’s back.
Back when they’d been waiting to be released, Spencer had explained that “If they’re seeing my back, then I deserve to get hit.” Mika could respect it, even if she didn’t follow the logic.
Spencer quickly spun and prepared to attack again, while Shinji rose up on a small tornado and shot away from him. He let out a laugh of his own. “You are good, big fellah. Not many people’s pulled that one off. You got me once. But that’s all you’re gonna get.”
“You’ll forgive me if I disagree!” Shinji shouted, whipping up more winds.
Out of the corner of her eye, Mika spotted someone coming down the far stairwell. Not the purple ninja, but the girl from Ketsubusu, all in black, save for the blank white mask that only showed her eyes. She had to have been the one who’d caused her to go over the tower edge. The Isamu Academy girl had been the one firing the nets and the girl from Seiai had been the one making the steam. And she hadn’t seen either of them in a while.
The Ketsubusu girl began to raise her hands to the sides of her head, her line of sight focusing on Shinji and Spencer. She hadn’t noticed Mika yet. Good.
Lowering her head to aim, Mika fired a pair of balls at the girl. One hit her left arm, breaking her stance and concentration. The other hit her in the stomach, doubling her over and tripping her sensor.
“And that’s three down in Tower Three,” Mount Lady announced. “U.A., SSZ, Shiketsu, and Seijin take this one!”
“Great shot, babe!” Shinji called out, his fight with Spencer already forgotten.
She heard a massive clang that sounded like Spencer kicking the floor. “Ain’t gonna lie, that was nice shootin’, Mimi.” She caught a disappointed tone in his voice.
She walked around the corner. “But you wanted to fight more, didn’t you,?” she asked, a smile tugging at her lips.
“See? You just get me, Mimi.”
***
Toshi was shifting through gravity in high gear, bouncing off walls and the ceiling as quickly as he could. Ahead of him, he could see the red ninja creeping along. Concentrating, he poured on the speed.
“Meteor… Smash!”
He slammed into the ninja before he could react, knocking him down and triggering a sensor. The ninja snapped back up, trying to strike at Toshi (And probably employ that nerve paralysis Quirk of his again), but Toshi had lowered his gravity quickly enough immediately after impact that he went flying out of the way, flipping and landing in a crouch.
The red ninja looked down at the sensor as though it had personally offended him. It was his second strike.
There was a strange sound and a subtle feeling of a change in air pressure, coming from behind him. He didn’t think, he just lowered his gravity and jumped straight up. His head bumped the ceiling, but it was a small price to pay. A bright blue beam sailed under him and struck the red ninja before he could get out of the way, tagging the last of his sensors. It was a force beam and slammed him backwards.
The ninja slumped against the wall. “All my ninja arts,” he muttered, “useless…”
Toshi looked behind him, to where the beam had come from. It was the Shiketsu competitor, the girl with the three eyes. He hadn’t seen her at all during the first event, but why hide such a simple Quirk?
Wait. She did have three eyes, didn’t she? But then why did she only have one eye now?
“Thank you,” the cyclopean girl said, “for setting him up for me. But my gratitude extends no further. We are still competitors here.” She brought her hands up and released a double-barreled blast.
Toshi turned and bounced, heading toward the stairs. He beams flashed around him, but fortunately none of them hit. Was her depth perception poor with only one eye? If so, that was a bad combination with an Emitter-type Quick like that. He poured on a little more speed…
SMACK!
He impacted hard with something solid and unbendable, where there should have been empty air, and fell backwards, landing on his butt. He looked up, blinking away stars, to see a pinkish energy field in front of the stairs. And just behind it, clearly generating it, was… the cyclopean girl?
Did she have any energy manipulating Quick then? But then why were there two of her? And each one only had one eye. Which meant that there was probably a third one running around somewhere too, no doubt with a unique ability all her own.
At least now he understood why they hadn’t seen much of her during the first event. With a Quirk like that, it was probably great for intelligence gathering, on top of the offensive abilities.
“Good job, To,” the one who’d fired the beams said, coming up behind him. “I knew we could lead him into a trap.”
“Of course, Ko,” the force field wielding one said.
“All right!” a voice called out. It was another one of the girls. She seemed a little unsteady though and leaned against the wall to guide herself as she approached. “We got him!”
Both of the other girls gave each other a look, then nodded. The force field generating one encased the third’s legs in a block of pink energy and the blasting one hit her with blasts from both hands. The blasts rocked the third girl’s body, tagging one of the sensors as well.
“Well,” the third said, her voice suddenly and surprisingly deep and accented, “it was worth a shot.” And then… the third girl changed. Her form blurred and shifted until she became SSZ’s shapeshifter. He tried to change form again, starting to become something big and monstrous, but more force fields held all his limbs in place while the other blasted him again and again.
Which was when someone else let out a war cry and Toshi barely had time to dodge out of the way. It was the actual other cyclops girl, this one clearly with some kind of strength Quirk. He bounced out of the way of her strikes, rebounding off the walls and ceiling, before barreling back towards her. She parried each time, deflecting his strikes and sending him flying until he could right himself. Her reflexes were good; her strength was even better. This could go badly for him, especially if the other two took down the shapeshifter and joined the fight.
A beep told him that the other cyclopes must have finally taken down the shapeshifter. Toshi paused just long enough to look.
“Th–th–that’s all, folks,” the shapeshifter said, a pig snout suddenly appearing on his face.
“Let me guess,” Toshi said, carefulling looking between the one-eyed girls, “mental connection between your selves he didn’t have?”
The two one-eyed girls looked him over. “Smart,” the blasting one said. “Not a lot of people who can figure that one out.”
Both of them got ready to fight again.
“And with that, it’s three down for Tower One!” Present Mic announced. “After such a strong showing, who could have predicted SSZ wouldn’t make it to the finals for this tower?! U.A., Shiketsu, Isamu Academy, and Seiai are going on to the next round!”
***
Torino tore through the constructed body of the Seiai girl like a missile, shattering it into a thousand pieces. “Good,” she said. “Just the two of us now.” And she launched again.
There was a time, when faced with an opponent with a personal mad on for him, that Isamu might have panicked and tried to run. Which was not to say he wasn’t still afraid, but a full term at U.A. with Aizawa for a homeroom teacher,, an internship under Deku, the events of the Tokyo invasion, the I. Island affair, and the summer training camp had changed his initial reactions from one of flight to one of fight.
At the speed Torino was traveling, he barely had time to do anything but react. But he threw up both hands and projected his repulsion field outward, as hard as he could. Torino slammed into it with a mighty crack and bounced off, flipping in the air, before she landed on her feet.
“Good reflexes,” she said. And then she was moving again, ricocheting around until she became a blur. His helmet sensors attempted to track her, but she flickered in and out from tracking. The sounds of her rebounding off the various surfaces became a staccato rhythm as he waited for the next strike, from whatever direction it would come. He was getting dizzy from turning to try and follow her.
She struck again and again, and each time, he just barely managed to get a repulsion shield up in time to deflect her blow.
“Your defense is acceptable, but where’s your offense?”
He could have pushed his field through his whole body. That would have offered some protection, but it might not have been enough, not all spread out like that. But he’d already been slow a couple times, now, getting his shield up with microseconds to spare. He had to get lucky every time. She only had to get lucky once.
And so did he.
He sucked in a breath and called up his Quirk into his hands. A few months ago, he’d have never dared try this, for fear of completely exhausting himself. But the more he’d trained, the greater his energy reserves, it seemed, especially since the start of the summer.
He let loose, spinning, arms out, filling the air with rapid fire, low-power blasts from his Quirk. “MACHINE-GUN SHOOT STYLE: MAXI-BLAM!”
Much as a disco ball filled a room with light, his arms filled the air with small pulses of energy as he spun in place, waving his arms through the air. None of them carried more physical power than one of his punches might – he was going for quantity over quality here – but that was hopefully all that he needed.
Isamu was well aware that this was a trick he would probably have only used under desperate measures in the field. It was too wild, too undirected, too dangerous to have used on the streets of a city unless he had no other choice.
But if this wasn’t desperate, then what was?
It was almost deafening, between the screaming whistle of Torino jetting around, the sound of his blasts hitting the metal structure of the tower, and the sounds his blasts made on their own.
KA-POW!
But there was a very distinct sound his blasts made when they hit someone.
He had shut his eyes shut before spinning, to avoid the resulting dizziness otherwise. As he opened them, Torino was nowhere in sight. Then there was a soft crumbling sound from above, and a piece of grit clattered off his helmet. He abruptly looked up, and Torino was clutching onto the ceiling, perched on one of the beams.
“Plus Ultra offensive effort,” Torino said. He’d managed, through sheer luck, to tag one of her sensors. And from the way her other arm was cradling her midsection, it looked like it had hurt.“But your follow through leaves much to be desired.”
Torino released her side and brought up an arm in front of her, gloved palm open. “Air Force - Ten Percent.” The fabric of her glove abruptly swelled like a balloon, before there was the shrrrp of velcro coming undone. The glove flew off her hand and tumbled clumsily but at high speed straight down. Isamu raised his hands in front of him in reflex, bringing up a shield, the glove slapping against it.
While his arms were still raised, he felt his stomach drop as there was a sound of impact on the floor in front of and below him. It was immediately followed by an impact, and a crunching sound as one of his sensors was triggered and smashed. Then his brain registered the impact.
Isamu’s costume was designed like motorcycle gear, to cushion impacts and protect his bones and vital organs from being smashed if he smeared himself on the pavement or ran into a wall. The blow knocked all the air out of him in one massive puff of breath and it was only by virtue of the padding that the blow was slowed just enough that he didn’t also lose his lunch. Throwing up in his helmet would have been very, very bad.
He sank to his knees, holding his stomach. But he managed to bring his head up to see Torino towering over him. She took his helmeted head in her ungloved hand. “You’re skilled. I’ll give you that. And you’ve found a lot of uses for your Quirk. But you lack a killer instinct. That will cost you, every time.”
She drew back her other fist to give him another punch. “And I can keep this up as long as necessary until you tap into what you were given.”
Which was when he activated his Quirk again, extending an adhesion field through his helmet. Torino’s eyes widened in surprise and then Isamu took off at full speed, dragging her along with him as he zipped along on all fours. She threw off his balance something terrible, and between her body and her cape, she created a hell of a lot of drag. But he didn’t particularly care where he was going. He zipped left and right at random intervals, turning sharply near corners to try and bang her against the wall.
Torino fired her own air jets, trying to change their direction, but he kept his own thrust up, matching her burst for burst, at least for the moment.
But he was so fixated on her, that he wasn’t completely watching the road ahead. It was only when his own proximity alarms started screaming that he looked to see a long, fleshy tube stretching out ahead of him.
“Look out, you idiot!” Torino yelled.
Both of them slammed into the thick tube and bounced off, separating in the process as they skidded to a stop.
The tube retracted, but the rest of what it was attached to rounded the corner. Miyahara, Shiketsu’s stretching rubber man.
“I don’t know what you two were getting up to,” he said, “but that was way too easy.”
Miyahara started extending his arms. “I finished off the ninja, and somebody got the girl with the force blasts, so this is for all the marbles.”
***
Isamu would give Miyahara credit, he had a lot of confidence for someone who was facing two-to-one odds against two people with high mobility and range. Even as his arms stretched out to ensnare them, Isamu and Torino moved.
They hadn’t planned it, hadn’t spoken to each other, but their Quirks made it perfect for her to go high and him to go low. Pressed so low to the ground that the zipper on his jacket scraped against the floor, he slammed into Miyahara’s legs at the same time that Torino slammed into his head.
Isamu kept going, while Torino bounced around for another strike, now aiming for his midsection. This time though, Miyahara elasticized himself against the impact and he stretched against her blow, until he snapped back, sending her flying like a pellet from a slingshot.
There were a lot of flying heroes that that probably would have worked on. But Torino’s skill and particular Quirk let her almost immediately stop herself, rocketing back again.
Isamu, for his part, drew himself up and fired off a volley of energy pulses. They were physical impacts, so they stretched Miyahara’s body out as they hit (Which was something he was probably going to be seeing in his nightmares.), but did little or not damage.
He may have read this one wrong. The rubber man may have, in fact, been more qualified to deal with them than he’d thought.
“Sorry,” Miyahara said, though he did not, in fact, actually sound sorry. “I’m pretty much punch proof.”
His arm shot out and Isamu was forced to duck and slide again, keeping just out of his way. Miyahara was good, though, stretching out of the way of Torino’s rapid fire strikes at the same time, his rubbery body moving like a snake.
He got lucky and his hand wrapped around Torino, elongated fingers pinning her arms to her sides.
“Fine,” Torino gave him a once-over, before a smile pulled at  one side of her mouth. “Let’s see what your limits actually are.”
As it turned out, holding on to someone who could effectively fly by shooting air out of holes in their body was not a good way to limit the use of their Quirk. Torino jetted off again, around and around the central column of the floor, back and forth, this way and that, with Miyahara’s arm stretching and being pulled along the entire way.
Miyahara’s look of alarm swiftly became a grimace of pain as he tried to resist the pull, stretching out his other arm to grab onto a ceiling beam in an attempt to anchor himself.
That was when Isamu took his shot. A repulsion pulse, dead center mass, tagging one of Miyahara’s sensors. More importantly though, it knocked him off his feet and he went flying, his other arm reeling him in like a fishing line. Miyahara banged against the tower structure several times by the time Torino stopped, collapsing in a heap at her feet, all of his sensors lit up.
Isamu had far too much of a sense of self-preservation to point out that she’d copied the same basic strategy he’d used on her.
“And that’s it for Tower Two!” came the voice of Mount Lady. “With that brutal takedown, SSZ, U.A., Seiai, and Ketsubusu will be advancing to the final round!”
“And with that,” Present Mic added, “Round Two is over and we have our tower champions! They all fought an amazing fight, but what will happen in Round Three? We’ll find out after a short break! …and I’d also like to give a big thanks to our dedicated maintenance staff, who I’m sure will have the arena grounds handled just fine.”
The look Torino was giving him, though, suggested that her interest in him was far from satisfied.
Great.
Just great.

Pack Headcanons
A/N: This is just to introduce packs that I'm going to use in future Omegaverse stories.
Gender Neutral
Bakusquad Pack:
Formed during the student's second year at UA. They are all currently pro heroes and live together in a house. Bakugo owns an agency where the others work at with him.
Bakugo--Alpha
He is the primary leader of the pack, so he dictates how things are done.
Bakugo does give Kirishima chances to "temporarily" take over through fights.
He's very soft towards the Omega in his pack.
Likes the number of pack members there are because it's easier to keep track of everyone (He already struggles enough having to watch over Denki).
Kirishima--Alpha
Kirishima doesn't mind being under Bakugo's rules as he has a lot of respect for him.
Fights with Bakugo for fun on most occasions, but he sometimes will get into a standoff with Bakugo if he's being a little too rough with the Omega.
Kirishima is also comfortable with their packs size.
Denki--Beta
Denki really looks up to Kirishima and Bakugo because of their skills.
He does get jealous of the two alpha's, especially when they drag you away from him when he tries to hog you.
Denki does make it onto the charts when it comes to hero work thanks to Bakugo and Kirishima's support.
He's very territorial when it comes to new people, so he really doesn't want any additions to the pack.
Reader--Omega
You are the more level headed one of the pack, so you keep everyone functioning together (Your technically the REAL leader of the pack).
You hold so much power over the others in the pack, and can make them stop arguing by simply walking into the room.
You have to be very careful in your day-to-day life as omegas have become quite rare.
Big-Three Pack:
The pack was formed during the student's third year at UA. They currently live in a large apartment close to the hero agencies they work for. They are highly ranked heroes.
Mirio--Alpha
Mirio is a really good Alpha by treating his pack with kindness, only being stern with them when it's necessary.
He is very protective of you and Tamaki, and makes sure the two of you always have everything that you want.
There's not a lot he has to do in terms of leading since Shinso and Tamaki do pretty well on their own, and Mirio doesn't have to worry about any arguing or fighting between them.
Shinso--Alpha
Shinso likes to be left to his own devices, but he always seeks you out when he actually wants to get some rest (The others leave you two alone during these times).
He is the most aggressive when it comes to protecting you and Tamaki as he will snarl at anyone if they get too close.
Likes to go to cat cafes with you (Tamaki and Mirio join when they can).
Absolutely loves the company you give him during most nights while he finishing some things.
Tamaki--Beta
Most of the time, Tamaki will find himself drawn to you since your presence helps him calm down.
He'll follow close behind Mirio and Shinso when you aren't around, but if you are, his arm is hooked onto yours.
Whenever Tamaki's anxiety gets extremely high, Mirio, Shinso, and You all cuddle together in your nest to help calm him down.
He's very timid, but if someone does something to upset you he does a complete 180.
You--Omega
You are outgoing, but still somewhat introverted, so you can keep up with Mirio's bright personality and Tamaki's timid one.
You tend to be more of a night owl, so you spend most nights sitting with Shinso and talking to him as he finishes work.
Every once in a while you can be pretty clumsy, which causes the others to sometimes be on alert to prevent any mishaps.
Pro-Hero Pack
This interesting combination came to be because of you, after you caught the attention of these three alphas. You live with Hawks, while Dabi and Aizawa "drop by" for a long while. There's no alpha in charge either, since they all think they're in charge.
Aizawa--Alpha
He's the more level-headed alpha in the pack, but that doesn't mean he can't be aggressive.
Likes to just relax with you, until Dabi or Hawks interrupts (Dabi is the worst about this though).
Aizawa will sometimes take you to his house when he gets tired of the other two bickering, but it never ends in him willingly taking you back to Hawk's house.
He treats you very delicately.
Hawks--Alpha
He gets along pretty well with Aizawa, but not with Dabi.
Hawks gets pretty jealous when it comes to the others spending time with you, but he'll just pick you up and fly off somewhere when it becomes too much for him to handle.
He really likes to flex in front of you by buying anything you want, and he loves to see you smile when he gets you something (He probably gets a lot of shiny things for you).
Hawks, because of his bird type mutation, nests, which means that the two of you will build nests together.
Dabi--Alpha
Dabi is highly mischievous with everything he does and Hawks is usually his target when he messes with others.
He doesn't really care much for Aizawa, so he doesn't make much conversation with him, unless it's about you.
Dabi doesn't really know how to act around you at first, but he really likes the comfort you bring him, which is something he hasn't been able to feel in a long time.
He doesn't see any judgement in your eyes when you look at him, nor disgust or pity towards his physical appearance, which is what made him fall for you.
You--Omega
You tend to be more nice than you should be towards the three, and they do take advantage of it quite often.
The main reason why the alphas have been able to survive together in this pack is because of their love for you.
They may fight and argue a lot, but as soon as they pick up on your discomfort, they're swarming you and apologizing over and over.
You were confused at first when the four of you got together, but they have proved that they are more than worthy enough to be in a pack with.

BnHA Ch.355 - Review, parallels & comparisons
I didn’t love this chapter as a whole, but I still think there’s some good stuff worth noting. First, Jiro! She’s clearly not prepared for the unholy monster that is AFO. (And, to be slightly fair, AFO is using some new quirks we haven’t seen before, like whatever turns his arm into a semi-sentient demigorgon that bites his opponents.) Plus she’s flying on a classmate’s back. It would be abnormal if she wasn’t terrified.
Throughout the manga, Jiro has never been treated as one of the “strong ones.” She’s got tons of attitude, but she’s not angry or confrontational. Personality-wise, she seems best-suited for reconnaissance not battle. E.g., she’s the only character in the last arc that asked after All Might. (In the School Festival arc, it’s Bakugo who prompts her to stop giving a shit about what other people think.) But her quirk works well against AFO because she can really mess up his infrared/radio wave sensing, so Jiro HAS to step into the battle role. She finds a truly critical mission put on her plate before she’s ready, much like Kaminari in the war. And, like Kaminari, she rose to the occasion — that panel of her screaming at AFO sure did look like her triumphant solo moment in the school festival.
Tumblr media
Other than her quirk, battling AFO is a HUGE leap for Jiro. Remember, she was taken out by Mirio in 1 second, and she felt weak compared to Bakugo on the bus to USJ……..
She got super nervous before the provisional licensing exam. Her big arc centered around her singing and bringing people together (which she was initially too shy to do), not on her quirk or heroic skills. But together with Tokoyami and Hawks, she’s able to fly and land a critical hit on AFO.
Tumblr media
As for the Twitter feud over “feminism”, I just don’t see anything wrong with how Jiro is portrayed. In this chapter, Jiro is being treated with respect by everyone around her and the narrative is giving her a chance to be a critical battle hero. Now, if ONLY the female characters get hurt in this final arc, or HK overly focuses on female characters getting mauled, then perhaps there’s something to dig into. But Jiro losing one of her earphone jacks and then overcoming her fears and pain to land a badass combo hit on AFO? I am fine with this.
I feel like I should talk about Endeavor and Hawks, but meh. What stands out to me is how Enji pictures his sons in his head. He sees Shoto as a surly, angry kid glaring up at him. Meanwhile, Toya is manic with wide eyes and an enormous grin, looking down on Enji from above. This is how his sons look at him. This is what he sees. And yeah, it’s what he deserves.
Tumblr media
Moving to AFO, you can laugh at AFO’s “fowl” pun all you want — it hides that his battle strategy is wrong, wrong, WRONG. He assumed the heroes would stall him until Endeavor was back in the fight. He assumed the heroes would leave the heavy hits for the Number One. But when Endeavor got hurt, it was a combo of the #2 and two students (one who placed at the Sports Festival, but the other largely unknown) that cracked his helmet. Hell, even AFO’s pun references a DUO, but there’s THREE heroes who are involved. And AFO also assumes the “children” just so happened to be paired with the “big shots,” as if Tokoyami and Jiro werent chosen strategically. As if Hawks’s wings can’t pick up on sound vibrations. That’s how little attention AFO pays to the “extras.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look at the laundry list of what AFO says — motives, words, deeds, abilities, (quirk) power. What did he leave out? Willpower. Hatred. Feelings. Emotion. That’s why Jiro’s rallying cry has to be “you made my friends cry,” and that’s why a closeup of her anguished face is right next to Hawks moving into the stream of her Legato move for the final slash. (It would make more sense, generally, for her to draw inspiration from Momo, Kaminari, or even Bakugo rather than Izuku and Aoyama, but in the context of a true hero selflessly “raging for the sake of others” I do see why it has to be those two.)
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
The vestige part is interesting. AFO has a big smile as he says, “Their very wills…they were spurred on by this?” AFO sure wasn’t smiling when New Order revolted. He was grimacing, cursing, and screaming. I don’t know what he just realized, but I’m guessing it’s not good for the heroes if he’s grinning. There HAS to be more to AFO right now than just “he knows he’s won even if this body dies”. Like we all knew that at the outset of this fight — AFO original recipe is still very dangerous, so the heroes have to separate him from Tomura and kill him, but that diverts resources from Tomura, so AFO’s got the heroes outwitted no matter what happens to this body. But also, AFO doesn’t take chances unless he HAS to, so he won’t let his original body die just to fully “vest” in Tomura. He’s gonna hang on as long as he can and take down as many heroes as possible, right??? And surely he’s got some sneaky game-clearing moves nobody’s ever seen, yeah???

H*lding H*nds Imagines
I am once again making content for me and me alone because I have an unhealthy obsession for BNHA blond boys
BNHA Blond Boys X GN!Reader h*nd h*lding moments
Characters: All Might, Present Mic, Fatgum, Twice, Aoyama, Ojiro, Kaminari, Bakugo, Honenuki, Monoma, Mirio
All Might
Knuckle brush
You handed him things before
Stacks of papers to grade, coffee after a long day, a napkin when he goes into a coughing fit
But something about this time turns his face a deep red
He withdrew quickly, in a jerking manner that dragged more attention than you’re sure he meant it to
He cleared this throat and thanked you quietly before shuffling off
It took a few moments to really set on you
You’d made contact
Such little contact you’d barely even felt it
He was cold, his skin rough and calloused, wrinkled and dry
How you managed to notice so much with such brief contact is astounding
And also incomparable to how much he noticed
He’s thinking about it all day, glancing at where the contact was made, shuffling, flushing to himself, holding his knuckles to his lips
Do it on purpose next time you hand him a stack of papers and he’ll drop them
Present Mic
In a crowd
It’s LOUD
You and Hizashi are trying to get home after a live show
The crowd is huge and still hyped from the concert
The quarters are tight, the space is limited, and without his towering hair spike it’s hard to keep track of your loud blond
Eventually a strong clasp from a hand horribly decorated in rings, fingerless gloves, and black nail polish claps on your wrist as your continued to be pulled though a crowd
When the world finally starts to calm and you have room to breath his hand slides to connect to your palm
Fingers intertwine with yours as a series of “Y’all good?”s start, followed quickly by an excited narration of the chaos that just ensued
He’d taken your hand so causally you barely even noticed
The two of you walked in a much calmer crowd, hand in hand, as Hizashi randomly picked bystanders out of his vocal range and made up their life stories to tell you
Fatgum
Big hands
You laid idly on the couch in Fatgum’s office, the interns long sense gone home
A pile of paperwork blocked your view of your hard working hero as he sat at his desk
You slumped and slid off the couch, boredom rising as you phone lie dead on the table nearby
A loud groan drives a “Just a bit longer, gumdrop” from behind the piles of unfinished work, a bit longer could be years for all you cared
Sliding across the hardwood floor on your back, you found yourself beside Taishiro’s desk, looking up at him from an angle you were rather use to
He was focused, with a smile still on his face as he worked, writing with one hand, the other causually turning Takoyaki in the grill built into his desk
You sat up, watching quietly. He was typically pretty observant, but he may not yet have noticed your approach
When his hand stopped turning and released, you took your chance
Both your hands snatched his wrist, sitting up a bit to rest yourself on his lap, you examined his large palm
He chuckled, “What’cha doin’, cupcake?”
His hand was massive in your own, enough to make anyone feel like a child. It could engulf you, hold half your torso and still have a pinkie to spare
You pressed on his palm, he hummed and returned to work, leaving you to admire as you pleased
His knuckles were scarred, several gashes and scrapes from punching at materials harder than even his fat could handle
Old burns from cooking, white spots on his finger tips from a time before he learned patients
You leaned back on him, holding his hand in your own, and watched him work
He seemed much more blissed from your company
Twice
Not enough hands
Jin’s a very physical person
He hangs off you every chance he can get, coddling and loving on you
He finds it annoying
So it’s not surprise as you two settled down for a movie night he was instantly on your lap like a cat
He lays over you like a blanket, limbs tangled every which way, head on your chest, looking at you more than the movie
One of your hands lay idly by your head, that one he has his own over, fingers tangled messily, almost uncomfortably
His other arm trapped under you, a hug from below, resting also uncomfortably against your spine
Leaving your free hand to tangle in his hair, a rare sight to have his mask off, though it probably wouldn’t last the whole movie, it should be cherished until then
When you notice his staring at you more than the screen, you choose to join him
You slide your hand from his hair to his cheek, he leans into it with the most lovestruck puppydog look a man his age could muster
He then starts to fidget around, moving like he’s stuck
It doesn’t take long from there for him to start getting frustrated with himself, splitting an argument for two between just him
You gently lift his head to regain eye contact and ask what’s wrong
He nearly starts crying
“I want to hold your cheek too but I don’t have enough hands!!”
He’s not willing to remove your hand from his hold or pull his other arm out from under you to compromise his own needs
He does eventually start crying over his lack of extra limbs to love you with
Aoyama
Standing ovation
Roaring applause rippled thought the auditorium
It wasn’t a big show, or a big stage, but it was your first written play, and seeing it go over so well was enough to bring a tear to your eyes
You joined the audience in standing to applause as the actors took the stage for the final bow
Only the lead, your star, wasn’t there with them
You blinked once, twice, three times before panic set in
There’s no way Yuga Aoyama would miss the chance to stand center stage in a spotlight. If he wasn’t on stage something must have happened
You tried your best not to look around too fervently, not wanting to startle anyone else
When a hand clasped yours
“And let’s not forget the playwright~✨”
Before you could question how he said that with his mouth, you were dragged onto the stage by your previously mentioned star, with his own mic in hand you don’t remember giving him
He held your arm up above his head as he runway walked his way along the stage, you closely in toe
You were going to go on stage eventually but you’d planned to be a lot more quiet about it, when more people had left early not wanting to sit though the applause
But instead, here you were, center stage, hand held high like you’d just won a boxing match by your own and only Aoyama
How he could stand being this bright all the time way beyond you
For now though, it was rather nice
Ojiro
Lost and found
You stepped out of your class stretching, ready for a well deserved lunch break when you heard your classmates muttering
“Isn’t he from the hero course?”
“What’s he doing?”
Being nosy wasn’t usually your strong suit, but the mutterings has peaked your interest
You followed the eyes of those speaking to find a blond boy sitting in the floor of the hall, knees pulled to his chest to keep his legs from disrupting the flow of traffic, with his tail resting over his feet to protect them from being stepped on
He smiled and gave a light wave to your class as the dispersed
You alone approached him, curiosity peaking. Why was he sitting out here in the hall?
When question he very sheepishly answered, “I, uh.. I got lost on my way to class”
There was several things wrong with that
Number one being, he’d been at this school half a year now. He has one classroom, a big classroom, in the hero course. It’s not easy to miss??
Number two, it was noon. Lunchtime. He has one classroom. How long had he been lost???
These questions had answers and he was, while slightly embarrassed, happy to share he had, in fact, been lost all morning. Not just in finding his class, but also in finding the exit to the building, any teachers he knew, or his phone to call for help
You began to feel sorry for the guy, as this seemed to be a common occurrence in his daily life
With a sigh, you offered your hand to help him up
It was lunch, for all courses, so surely he’d see his hero course classmates in the cafeteria. No one turns up Lunchrush’s food after all
He smiled and took your hand, lifting himself from the floor with a thankyou
“I’m Ojiro, by the way. You are...?”
He was rather polite to talk to the entire walk, his grip on your hand was soft, gentle, and his smile never seemed to waver
Kaminari
Swing yer partner round and round
“Oh this is my JAM!”
Mina excitedly turned up your shitty little radio before kicking herself up off the floor, grabbing Sero all in one quick motion
The two danced horribly off beat, you quickly guess Mina had never heard this song before in her life, just wanted to get moving
“Come on you two, it’s dance break time!”
You found yourself enraptured with her energy, already forgetting the homework you all were doing
Kaminari took your hand much like how Mina took Sero’s and began to dance just as off beat and spuratic as queen pinkie had
You laughed, stumbling with every step, same as the others, the giggling energy filling a previously silent room
Denki’s fingers dug into your knuckles as he smirked, suddenly spinning on his heel and dragging you with him
The two of you became a tornado in your tiny dorm room, barely keeping from knocking into your tea table as you spun like a couple of children
You could hear Mina cheer and laugh, a brief glanced told you Sero was recording this silly moment
You looked across the way at your dance partner
Spinning, laughing his head off like this was the most fun he’d ever had, eyes closed, caring not for his surroundings
You decided to let go
The momentum sent you both toppling, you safely into Mina, who was more then ready to catch you
Denki got the much less desirable aforementioned tea table, which sent him toppling backwards over the also aforementioned homework
If you all could have laughed any louder, you would
Bakugo
Sweaty hands
You always knew when Bakugo was going to hold your hand
He may think he’s smooth, wiping his hand on the pocket of his pants before reaching behind himself to grab at you
But you’d always notice
It was a good indicator you were walking too slow for his liking, or the area up ahead was crowed, or that he simply felt you were too far away
You couldn’t initiate holding hands, when he didn’t actively want to be in contact he’d keep his hands shoved deep in his pockets
So you just had to wait for him to wipe himself off and reach for you
You were free to wrap yourself around his arm whenever, though
He’ll look pissed, but won’t say a word
And if you move away, he’ll wipe his hand on his pants, and offer it to you, a silent plea for you to come back
Honenuki
Magic hands
You stretched out over the couch of the 1-B common room with a whine, the rest of your class in a similar state
Training was hell today, sparing with class 1-A was never a joke, and with Monoma egging the whole game up to be more than it should have been, it all just escalated to a point you all wish it hadn’t
“Alright, next.”
Honenuki, a godsend, your blessed angel, helped Tsuburaba off the second common room couch, his typically wide eyes closed and relaxed as he wobbled his way across the room
You happily took his place, stretching out on your stomach before your classmate with the magic powers of massage
His hands pressed into your back and you instantly relaxed, letting out a low hum as you snuggled the pillow under your chin
Honenuki returned your hum, his hands pressing into all your tenses spots, almost instantly releasing them from their knots
You’d probably have fallen asleep, if it wasn’t over so fast
He had the entire class to get though after all, though he hated to rush an art form
You took his hand as he helped you stand, the actual minute of his touch enough to wobble your legs
Kissing his knuckle and thanking him for sharing his magic, you found yourself plopped peacefully on the couch beside Tsuburaba
Honenuki chuckled at you as he called next, happy to be of service
Monoma
He’s showing off
You’d known for a while now Monoma didn’t know how to shut the fuck up
He’d brag about anything, over anyone, to everyone
He’d always loudly bragged about how much better his class was, how much stronger his friendships were, how absolutely amazing his partner was
You being said partner didn’t make said bragging less annoying
The two of you had been together less than an hour and he was already boasting about your perfection to all who would hear
Some genuine, loving, almost gaggingly sweet comments
Others just to rub it in the face of class 1-A as much as possible
A week into this relationship and people were starting to think you must be come kind of god with how Monoma spoke about you
You’d been on two dates with the guy
Now here you were, holding his hand on the walk to class, and regretting every step
As every single person who passed must take note of the fact you were holding his hand
And also must be aware how blessed he is to be holding your hand in return
And really you started to understand the concerned look Kendo gave you when you told her you’d agreed to date Neito Monoma
Still his words were genuine, no matter how they came across, and he truly had a million and one things to say about you
So you could hold though the embarrassment his overexcited bragging may cause
He just wants to show you off
Mirio
Quietly
You sat by his bed side, holding gently to his limp hand
Moments ago he was inconsolable, crying and screaming his lungs out
His quirk gone
His teacher gone
Everything he worked so hard for seemed to vanish in an instant
His grip, still so strong, had left your hand bruised, circulation cut off
It wasn’t a concern you really had
Sleeping, his pain was still so obvious
Bags under his eyes, dried streaks of tears still down his keeps
And your hand still tightly gripped in his
What would happen next, where he would go, who you all would become
They were all problems for the future
Tomorrow you could work on a solution
Tonight, you could hold his hand

promise? — amajiki tamaki
[i had a little inspiration from a conversation i had with one of my friend(?)s. and so, this was born]
Tumblr media
“isn’t that tamaki?” sakura asked, eyebrow raised with a sly smirk on her face. “why don’t you go say hi to him, (y/n)-chan?”
you scoffed, rolling your eyes as you nudged her in jest. “i’d rather not, thank you.”
“didn’t you say you talked to him a little? you have his number right?” aneko chimed in, a look of disbelief still on her face. “i can’t believe you’re actually friends with the big three. kinda unbelievable for support students like us.”
you shrugged, “mirio was nice enough to introduce me. after all, he is my ‘client’ for this assessment.”
a small whistle escaped from sakura’s lips. “perfect time to get close to a certain member?”
“you’re insufferable,” you hissed, but the smile still rested on your face.
“i wanna go home…” tamaki groaned, covering his face in his hands as nejire sang out a string full of teases.
“tama is in love~ tama is in love~” she squealed before leaning in close, her big blue eyes practically bulging out of her head from curiosity and anticipation. “well? well?! who is it?!”
“give him a break, nejire,” mirio chortled, patting tamaki on the back. “he’ll tell us soon enough.”
tamaki let out a muffled whine, slinking down to rest his chin on his arms on the table. his eyes drifted to where you stood, laughing and joking with your friends. you had just pushed sakura jokingly, while aneko watched on with the same amused look on her face. you were right there literally standing in the same room as him. you were so close… so why were you so far away?
“i’m pathetic…” tamaki muttered to himself, his eyes downcast and no longer trained on you.
“you’re not pathetic!” mirio scolded, clearly hearing tamaki’s self-deprecation loud and clear. “just talk to her!”
nejire pouted as mirio talked about tamaki’s mystery love interest, clearly out of the loop. “c’mon tamaki, tell me, tell me!”
he’s never going to make it out alive.
***
The sound of a notification on his phone brought tamaki out of his focus, looking up from his maths revision for the first time since he started (two hours ago). he tentatively picked up his phone, eyes widening as he read the contact name.
(y/n): hey amajiki-san! i hope you don’t mind me messaging you this late…
(y/n): i just wanted to wish you luck for your tests tomorrow :)
at the message, tamaki flushed a deep red. how can you be so nice all the time? did you message everyone else? why didn’t you just message in the group chat? before he even realised it, he had been staring at the message for five minutes. fear rushed through his veins. he just left you on ‘read’! you probably think he’s weird… he had to respond now!
tamaki: thank you
‘no! not like that!’ he groaned, ‘fix it! fix it!’
tamaki: that’s nice of you to say
‘i made it worse!’
before he could spiral even further into the depths of his own self-loathing, his phone ping!ed with a notification.
(y/n): haha, that’s okay!
(y/n): if you see me tomorrow, say hi, okay?
bursting into a million shades of vermillion once again, his phone shook in his hands as he stared at the message you just sent. now he actually needs to talk to you! not that he doesn’t want to talk to you it’s just…
tamaki: okay
‘why did i agree?!’
(y/n): promise?
(y/n): i’ll hold you to it!
tamaki: promise
before he could dig himself a deeper grave, tamaki threw the phone on his bed, and he let out a worried sigh as he slunk deeper in his desk chair. time to ask mirio.
***
you hummed quietly as you made your way to the bathroom from the lab you were just working in. because everyone in the hero course was busy preparing for their hero exams and tests, the support students had to go for more than a week without their ‘clients’, which was frustrating when it came to measurements and double-checking ideas. to be fair, it was a stressful time for everyone so you couldn’t blame them.
as you passed by 3-A, you noticed the big three entering the classroom, tamaki being the last to enter.
your eyes met at that moment, and you gave a small smile. his cheeks flared up before he gave a cute little wave. your eyes lit up and you waved back, mouthing ‘good luck’ to him before he retreated into the classroom.
you couldn’t help but squeal silently as you jogged back to the lab, your stomach doing backflips at the exchange. you looked over your shoulder one last time before disappearing into the other room. maybe he’ll feel a little more comfortable now… and maybe… maybe you could even be more than friends.
