Not my dumbass trying to introduce colour theory to the wardens and accidentally modding Antoine's armour instead of Rook's.

An hours work, gone :') but ig at least Antoine isn't in ugly yellow leathers n covered in dirt?

Been trying so hard to get what I wanted for my Rooks complexions. I don't want so flat and clear they stand out from everyone else, but I also don't want freckles(I have them IRL, not a fan) and that's kinda been what has been released on nexus so far. So I've been working on blending skins until I get exactly what I want.

And eventually I got it! first I was planning to have be Obiyra's skin; it's basically 'rosy 2' without the blue in the chin + some extra light pink blush.

The second is a mix of morrigan's face texture that I altered(no moles no crows feet in the normal map, no brows in the diffuse) and combined with youthful 1 and rosy 2 and then fiddled with making it as seamless as I could to the body texture despite the warm face coloring and kinda coral blush I added.

Anyways I'm liking it enough that i want to restart the game and get footage of my girl with it as it feel more her. Less heavy jowl normals with this too which fits for Eleni!

How are you surviving the sprite redraws with carpal tunnel and over 1000 pics to recreate man (/genq)

I take very long breaks and draw only when the pain in my hand is mild. I think I remade basic Wyneer's sprites doing a little bit at a time over like... five or so days?? And it took me like two weeks until I felt good enough to draw again. Unfortunately my job is very demanding on my hands so my default is pain and I just try not to make it worse.

(If you ever have carpal tunnel, buy a wrist splint - not a shitty fabric artist glove one, a real medical one with a metal support in it to angle your palm upwards - and sleep in that fucker. It makes such a huge difference.)

I have the workload Wyneer split up in such a way that I feel physically/mentally okay committing to redrawing him. It's like this:

Redraw Wyneer's basic sprites

Make placeholders for the masks using their old art + Wyneer's new art

Redraw the mask who needs new art for a gameplay thing (<- WE ARE HERE)

Then the masks who have tweaked designs (Boutey and Saffron)

Then the masks who have fugly art (Crimson and Lay)

Then the masks who look ok but old (Blake and Azure)

I'm going to work on the masks one by one and just push their new art when they get done, even if I only do one every few weeks. Once Boutey and Saffron are done I don't care so much about the rest. I also decided last night that Nightmare and Radiant look so good still I will probably not even redraw them, which removes A LOT OF SPRITES from the equation.

Believe me, if anything holds up his mod and makes me want to die it is not the art, it is the strings. Getting to do sprites again is fun compared to writing the masks saying something slightly different about the same thing a dozen times.

babies first mod for veilguard is making the casual clothing my rook always wears be purple!(well just the top and one part of the belt)

Next it'll be the main outfit she wears switching red to either blue or purple. :3 very happy!!!
