IT’S MY BIRTHDAY Y’ALL!!!

Last year of being a fucking teenager! LET’S GOOO!

I wanted to make a special post. But I was too busy drawing Squirrel and Hedgehog characters inspired by the main six ponies from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I wonder what is the crossover between the SaH and MLP fandom. I know of one blog.

First of all we got Rainbow Dash as a crow captain. I think this is the first time I’m posting my new way of drawing antro birds. Previously I drew them with hands. They were supposed to be like rolled up wings but I don’t think I conveyed it visually. It was funny to imagine them flying by just flapping their hands about. Like the bird people in Bojack Horseman and Tuca and Birdy. It works for those shows but not for my edgy Squirrel and Hedgehog AU.

I made Rainbow Dash a crow because WE NEED MORE CROW OCs. The crows in the show are treated horribly! There’s no named crow character and when they show up they’re usually beaten up and killed. I want to make a crow OC challenge where we all make a crow OC (duh). I’ll probably make a separate shorter post announcing it. I don’t know how many people actually read these rambles. But you can start drawing your OCs if you want.

Now. Back on topic. Rainbow Dash. Her backstory. Simple. I’ve got NO IDEAS. Personality wise she’s the same as the show. Bossy tomboy.

Next up. Fluttershy. I never actually drawn a duck besides Murori. Well. And a couple background ducks. Which reminds me I should add wings to them.

There’s a little more to her. Once again. Personality same as the show. She didn’t want to join the military. Obviously, look at her! In my AU the Duck Village is very patriarchal. Women aren’t even allowed to fly. Fluttershy would be fine with that. But tough luck. With the war everyone who can fly has to apply.

Lastly for today Pinkie Pie. I could have done the pun of Porkie Pie but… just as with crows we need more rabbit OCs. I’ve seen one and that’s it.

The backstory for her is that she ran away from her abusive family to Flower Hill. She’s always cheerful and bit of a clown. Believing everyone deserves a laugh especially during something as tough as a war.

I had fun designing all of them. I’ve been watching a lot of Jackie Drojko on YouTube so I know this is far from a professional job. But I had fun with choosing the colours. Adding little details such as making Pinkie Pie extra fluffy and doing the colourful bangs. The second batch is going to be better. I got more used to drawing digitally again. I thought these glorified sketches would be done faster digitally.

MLP-G4/G5 & EQG Theory: Midnight Sparkle Was Foreshadowing The Unity Crystals...Part 1

I would of wrote this theory some hours ago, but I was too busy playing Mass Effect 3 on the Mass Effect Legendary, and I got to say that I’m happy with the progress I made, and I was able to do some of the DLC missions, like helping Aria for one, and right now I think I’m close to the whole meeting the Shepard Clone thing, right now Shepard, Liara, Wrex and Brooks are all in that Apartment, which is the first time for me to get a Apartment from Anderson in that game, and well, I’m glad I could finally get through some parts in Mass Effect 3, even if it was in the Legendary version....

anyway that aside, I know some might not like G5 and there are still some fans that do like G5 as well as still like G4...

but I have reasons to believe that Sci-Twi’s Midnight Sparkle form, was foreshadowing what Princess Twilight Sparkle was going to do in the future...

and that is making the unity crystals, which would force ponies to get along, even in the smallest of disagreement...

and if time does pass differently in the human world where Sunset is, and she is probably in college now, when time passed a lot faster in Equestria...

then when she meets up with Sunny and her friends, and if they ever go back time....maybe in Sunset’s super tough way, she should go trotting right up to Princess Twilight, just as she is about to make the Unity Crystals...

and hoof her right in the muzzle....even if that might seem, a bit much and cold.

but if you think about it, it is technically her fault.

instead of solving things the right way, she ends up taking a short cut with magic, by making something that drains the natural magic from Equestria.

I love G4, G5 and even EQG, but it isn’t okay for Princess Twilight to do such a thing, thinking it can “fix” how some ponies act to each other.

and yeah Opaline did play a role in the mess, but it didn’t mean Princess Twilight had to cross that line, because by trapping Earth Pony, Pegasus and Unicorn Magic inside those Crystals, and who knows what other creatures magic, she only played a part in having Earth Pony, Pegasus and Unicorns separate, it wouldn’t just be Opaline’s fault.

and if Discord did think magic was to blame, then he needs to see the bigger picture as well, that magic is just being another scapegoat for those who ended up misusing it, and making it force ponies to get along or else “no magic for you.” which isn’t fair or treating anypony or any-creature or anyone in any equal form what so ever...

in fact, by trying to force ponies for generations to get along, or they can’t use magic, it only makes problems worse.

you can’t force that kind of thinking or friendship on anyone, no matter if they are a pony or another creature or a human or other...

that isn’t right, and if what I had watched that talked about bringing back G4 wasn’t some prank, cause I’m not sure if it is true, so I wont get my hopes up...

but if it were true, then maybe if it is true that it will be at a point before Twilight became a Alicorn, then maybe she can see what her much older future self has done in her time ruling Equestria and what she caused for the future generations, but then again, it could be possible that Sunny and her friends, might be living in the same era as Twilight and her friends....

you know, that mirror pool that makes copies, I think that every pony save for maybe a few, are clones....this would include the Mane Six.

and that broken snow place, that has that Castle that use to belong to the Storm King’s before...?

well let’s say the first episodes we saw where it has Nightmare Moon return and to the point she became Luna again, as well as the point of the first movie of Equestria Girls to the second where the Dazzlings show up, that was part of the Original World, but when we get to the new Equestria Girls Movie, where Sunset’s yellow in her hair is much lighter, this could be seen as a new timeline that is still the same as the old, but still slightly different...

and that one Time Twirler might of belong to the Original Twilight Sparkle, who made it so she could relive her adventures, as well as her friendships and even the moment she became a Princess....this Twilight, could of been from the Original Timeline that Sunset came from, when her mane and hair had a different shade of yellow in it, before becoming much lighter later on.

but at some point someone got wise to what that Twilight Sparkle was doing, and she had went to the human world, where she had reformed Sunset and made friends with the human version of her friends, and hid it somewhere no one else would ever find it...

 plus how do we know that that memory stone that erased a ponies memories didn’t play a part by being used by someone who was trusted, until they broke that trust....       

and the pony that Clover The Clever had got rid of in the human world, by just burying it....keeping it from a pony, who could of turned out to be Opaline.

or the Original Princess Twilight Sparkle, who had not only used a Time Twirler to go through a time loop that only she would remember, but also to erase the memories of those who might remember or become immune to the time loop like Sunset was when she went through it in the human world, when that time twirler ended up there.

the Twilight Sparkle that just started becoming ruler of Equestria, might not be the same as the one that Luster Dawn speaks to in that episode that shows what happen in Twilight’s past, which would be the same even for a temporal copy of herself or mirror copy....

The Original Twilight, could of aged everypony into babies, and place them into cryogenic magic sleep, until it was time for them to be “born”...

meaning she would use a spell to make mares believe they were going to have a foal, but really, it was a spell to trick them, until the months were up, and she would place a copy of their foal into their care, which the parents would also be copies as well...

it could turn out that only a few ponies are born from copies, while others are originals that weren’t originally copied...

this might be a weird theory, and it’s okay that not everyone takes it seriously.

but it might be possible that the Taller and much older Twilight Sparkle, is the one that gets it wrong, and the still younger and still small Twilight Sparkle, might get it right and be the version of herself that would never make another Unity Crystal, even if the current one is broken into pieces and freeing everyone and the magic to be used the right way.

so way, like I was trying to point out, I believe that broken snow that The Storm King’s Old Castle was a bit close to....

was the Original Equestria, and while it seems like it is all covered in snow, but in theory it could have the Equestria that the G5 Ponies live in...

meaning that Sunny, Hitch,  Zipp, Pipp and Izzy have no clue that there is clone of ponies that had lived in Ancient times, living in another land that they are also calling “Equestria” but really it would be Equestria II, which would prove my other theory that the Equestria that Twilight and her friends live in, isn’t the original Equestria, and it is Equestria II...

I will talk more about this theory maybe later or tomorrow....which is why this will be part 1, and the next one will be part 2...

need to get back to playing Mass Effect 3, but once I finish, I will go back to checking out some stuff on here, or maybe I will take a break from it once I finish up some parts in it, I still left Shepard, Wrex, Brooks and Liara at that Apartment, and I still need to have Shepard reply in that part in the game...

so anyway it’s okay that not everyone agrees about the weird and crazy theories I mentioned in this....but it doesn’t mean I agree with Princess Twilight Sparkle misusing magic and making the Unity Crystals to try to force ponies to get along......I can still like Twilight, but if she crosses a line like that, then she is just misusing magic like how Star Butterfly scapegoat the magic, instead of sticking to blaming her Mom and her side of the Butterfly Family for the misuse of the magic, I can still like Star and the SVTFOE show, but I will not agree with her or Princess Twilight’s actions of misusing the magic or using it as a scapegoat...

so yeah, I believe that Midnight Sparkle was foreshadowing the Unity Crystals, and what Princess Twilight Sparkle was going to do with them...

What's your dream transformers crossover

Omg, the official My Little Pony/Transformers crossover comic was already an absolute Delight for me hahaha. SO much fun. Pure "dumping out the toybox" chaos and silliness, great unexpected team-ups and bonding moments between my blorbos, and kicking ass with the Power of Friendship. Gotta love it.

With that aside, the next thing that comes to mind is I think there's a LOT of potential for a Steven Universe crossover. I've rambled about it a bit on here before; what started out as a bit of a joke "theory" I had that "oh haha we never found out what 'created' the Gems, haha what if it was Quintessons haha" got me thinking about just how many parallels one could draw there. There's a lot of similarities between Transformers and Gems as (potentially) artificially-begun, inorganic, shapeshifting, long-lived, "robotic" beings, who grow beyond a strict function-based society to assert their individuality and free will, who have left a trail of colonized and wartorn planets in their wake, with a small group who turn around and vow to protect the Earth and those who inhabit it (with a mixture of motivating factors among said group for sticking to that decision). Themes like the power of change, what one is willing to do for freedom, and human/alien cultural exchange are prominent in both properties as well. (On that last note specifically, I'd love to see sparks between Greg and a hunky van-robot... or some Overpowered Traumatized Half-Alien War Baby™️ bonding between Steven and Sari, comparing their arcs and how they were raised, having someone who really Gets their struggles, and also just getting to be goofballs together because dammit, they're KIDS!)

Both TF and SU have also both featured at some point a great danger in the Earth's core threatening to tear it apart if it comes to full form... but maybe I digress a little, LOL

In some theoretical timeline (rather than simply a When-Worlds-Collide-type crossover like the MLP comic, which would also be great), I like to think that the Gems were the Quints' "Plan B" or "Mark II" after Cybertron rose up against them, a second attempt at creating a race of war machines to do the dirty work of conquering the universe for them. Gems boasted many "design improvements" such as not needing physical fuel or recharge; ability to regenerate after bodily harm; being harder to kill and easier to revive (or restore to "factory settings"), with no risk of simply degenerating from age; ability to reproduce on their own via the resources of practically any planet they found; and even stricter categories of "This Is What You Were Made For, This Is What You Are." But with this advanced potential came advanced Just-About-Everything-Else, including the potential for conflict, change, and self-determination, and so though the Gem empire spread faster and further than the Cybertronian colonies did, it also fell apart even quicker, too. Where things go from there, and how well the Gems and 'Bots know of each other or their shared origin... well, who's to say, but more than likely it'll all come to a head on good old Planet Earth!

It’s 2019 and I’m Posting Again!

Hey, it’s Marvel. Been a while since I really posted any of my own content to Tumblr, aside from links to my other stuff. I think that’s gonna change.

The editorials and reviews won’t be to the crazy level 2017/Year of the Pony was, but I do have some stuff planned.

So, I’m gonna talk about what my plans are for this year down below the cut!

Editorials and Reviews - More on the Way!

I’m bringing the MLP editorials and reviews back! My goal is to review all the MLP and Equestria Girls content that comes out this year. Especially considering it may or may not be the last year we’ll get Friendship is Magic, you know I have to celebrate it while it’s still here.

(Although, the editorials may or may not be duplicated/slightly modified to fit my own format from what I post to Equestria Daily. We’ll see.)

But yes, like I said, editorials and reviews definitely won’t be as frequent as Year of the Pony because that pace made it hard to work on other projects.

For instance, I might be branching out to other (primarily animated) shows, movies, and possibly books. 

MLP will forever be first in my heart, of course, but you’ll see some different reviews and recommendations on here from time to time!

Fanfiction - A New Series

I’ve got a series in the works! I won’t say too much about it until closer to the first story’s release date, but it (of course) follows Sunset and SciTwi through their lives starting with the first story in senior year of high school. 

Romance, insecurities, and spookiness ahead!

And while I work on those longer, close to novel length stories, I want to challenge myself this year to post smaller stories. One-shots, small multi-chapters, that sort of thing. I have the tendency to want to work on bigger stories, but the more I practice and the more I put out there, the more feedback I’ll get and the faster I’ll improve!

The biggest thing I want to work on in terms of my writing is my prose, more specifically my voice, descriptions, and infusing emotion into it. So I definitely will want to focus on that.

Also, I fully realize the last two stories I put out were also Sciset stories in some capacity, so doing one-shots will let me do a Sciset series but also write other characters and ships... (and more sciset but shh, don’t question it).

Life Stuff

While it’s not stuff that will affect you, here’s a brief list of life stuff going on with me:

New Job: I’ve got a full-time co-op job at my university for 8 months! I’ve been doing it for a month and so far I fucking love it

Sleep: I managed to go a whole month with a fixed sleep schedule! This has been a huge problem for me for years and years, but I actually have been sleeping well.

Social Anxiety: In general, my SA is better than it’s ever been before. I’ve been saying for a while that I’m in recovery, but this genuinely feels like it. I can challenge any anxious thoughts/feelings that come up. I could talk more about it.

Dating: I have the goal to date some more, but it’s also not something I’m obsessed with. Partially just because I’m interested in someone in particular (complicated; he’s with someone and I’m friends with both of them, and despite the fact that their considering a breakup, I obviously don’t want them to be hurt), and partially just because I now have confidence in my ability to tell someone when I have feelings for them. But I’ll keep you updated if I do start dating anybody.

That wraps it up for this post!

TLDR: There’s definitely been stuff I wanted to cover in January, but I’m doing well. And hoping to post some cool content in the future!

Open up your EYE (Thoughts on MLP Movie)

Has the show gotten one of those characters that doesn't know what a sense of humor is and fights back with combat?  Or am I thinking of a lot of reformed characters from other media? Spoilers down below.  Haven't seen the movie?  Well the DVD/Blu-Ray aren't far behind.

Um...so that was the movie I had almost missed out on, huh?  Well it was.........something... Ok, so I'm afraid this "review" is going to be EXTREMELY difficult to judge because the night before I actually watched Disney/Pixar's Coco first (by the way, 10/10, would DVD/Blu-Ray again).  And sitting down to watch this movie second was probably a huge mistake as this movie left me with a rather sour taste in my mouth.  Perhaps if I waited to see Coco later, then I wouldn't feel this...negative.  I'm the kind of person that goes to the movies a ton so I'm pretty much judging this movie along with all the other movies I've gone to see in the past several years. So let's get an obvious good thing out of the way first; the movie's return to 2-D or 2.5-D animation.  Never in a long time since Princess and the Frog in 2009 have I been glad to see the return of hand-drawn styled animation.  It's actually quite interesting when you learn that the movie characters were actually made 3-D FIRST before becoming 2-D characters in a 3-D world.  Speaking of which, a major chunk of the pony characters don't feel like repeatedly used poses like in the TV show.  They've been given a similar design to the show but more expressive and created with greater, fluid movement in a few areas.  So of course Pinkie Pie would be the one to mostly get the spotlight in this area.  I think people were worried about the 3-D landscaping dampening the style, but I'll let it slide as they did create the landscapes beautifully.  Plus 3-D environments have worked for 2-D movies in the past.  Talk to a good chunk of Disney Renaissance movies like Beauty and the Beast's Ballroom. An interesting way to segue into this next part.  Whereas the Disney Movies were mostly the movie first and merchandise later, Hasbro's the company that will make a product first then get their animators to make an episode or movie around it.  Also I am aware that Hasbro has one hell of a leash on these animators.  They've probably had a ton of amazing ideas for a My Little Pony movie to appeal to all audiences instead of the targeted one.  But what I was given to view not fell into my low expectations...it went even LOWER!  Perhaps being exposed to Coco first had ruined my enjoyment for this as there was much needed room for improvement. See if I can sequence this a bit.  Let's start with the story.  Twilight Sparkle, Princess of Friendship has created a massive party in an unusually-styled Canterlot that's looking a bit spacious than the busting city I'm usually seeing in the show.  Through some comedic introductions, a song and a series of show-related cameos we are given the things that the outside audience needs to know.  Things get shaken up when Tempest Shadow, an broken-horned unicorn visitor representing for the Storm King, arrives with an army to take over the entire kingdom in order to siphon the magic out of the four princesses.  Now it's up to Twilight and her five friends (not six, Starlight Glimmer got shoved out of the spotlight) to find aid outside Equestria and take back their home capital. Interestingly enough, the one hour and forty-four run time actually felt kind of long when normally I'm sitting for two to three hour-long movies...but then it quickly sped through the story in a poor pace to show off their new toys/playsets and have money left in their budgets.  I'm probably not the first to say this movie was poorly paced, am I?  From memory, I think the longest we've stuck with a setting outside Canterlot was probably the desert city of Klugetown.  You could probably argue that perhaps it was Hippogriffia/Seaquestria but events there kinda made me WANT to make it go faster.  Get to that part in a second. Songs?  As a 90's kid, you know that most of the songs are either set aside or forgotten (like the ones in this film) for the most important one:  The Villain Song.  And Tempest Shadow's Open Up Your Eyes (currently having its instrumental being spammed repeatedly during this typing) is indeed worthy of the title "Villain Song".  The setting, the lighting, the flashback made by a different team (according to the credits), I loved it all.  I'd say it reminds me of Unleash the Magic from Friendship Games but I rank this song much higher. Honorary note for Sia's Rainbow.  I'm being told by some reviews that the song felt a bit too somber for a finale but I don't know, this felt like a calm, perfect way to wrap up the movie with.  I haven't a clue what the problem with it was. Finally, how about the characters.  We've got your familiar TV show cast along with a ton of celebrity voices, including Sia as Songbird Serenade at the beginning and end of the movie who is literally modeled after one of her actual outfits.  I chuckled when I dug up her photo, I don't know how she manages to see through that hair.  Other noteworthy celebrities that got a good chunk of screen time were Kristin Chenoweth as Princess Skystar, Liev Schriber as the Storm King, Zoe Saldana as Captain Celaeno, Michael Peña as Grubber the Hedgehog and Taye Diggs as Capper the anthropomorphic cat.  Most have been given the appropriate amount of screen time while others (STORM KING, MAIN ANTAGONIST OF THE FREAKING MOVIE), were held off until the end.  Oh yeah, that one Parrot Pirate with the squawking and demolitions.  Loved that guy. Sadly, the weakest of the group was the Storm King himself and not just because he was saved for the climax.  Previous TV show antagonists have ranged from either self-motivated tyrants to strategic conquerors for their own kind.  This knucklehead is literally announced as "evil" from Grubber and there just wasn't much from him to label him as an awesome villain.  Even his own funny moments couldn't save him.  And this is coming from a guy who isn't very fond of Starlight Glimmer yet she's still WAY more interesting than this cloud yeti.  Oh well, maybe next time don't model your villain to be a lazy, wacky monkey. On the other side of the spectrum, however, is Emily Blunt as Tempest Shadow, the true antagonist of the movie, picking up all the work for the Storm King to restore her cracked horn.  Compared to "her boss" this character has her own goals and motivations, sort of like a bounty hunter or mercenary. Kudos there as those areas would reach up into the top three MLP:FIM villains on my list.  Sadly, as the movie is indeed called "Friendship is Magic", she's (OMG) reformed much like many of the other unicorns in this show (Anyone seeing a trend here?).  Regardless, when she was a villain, this was a skilled and probably self-trained fighter trying to regain her happiness through any means necessary, even serving a clown.  Even gave me a chuckle when she lost her cool in Canterlot in front of Grubber before realizing and calming down. The Mane Six and Spike are mixed in their performances and what they're given to do.  I'll have to rate them all from best to worst...you're not gonna love who's on the bottom. Pinkie Pie stuck out the most with previously mentioned animations and tons of interactions with the girls and the strangers they came across.  Side-note:  She is mean with a barge of cupcakes; had they been red-frosting, that fight scene might have been banned.  We even get a serious moment with her and Twilight where--getting ahead of myself.  Getting there soon, promise. Rainbow Dash, despite causing some extra trouble, gives the "awesome" the movie needs including getting the Parrot Pirates off their rears to face off against their former employers...that doesn't last long. Rarity's charm and generosity got Capper the cat to not only change Tempest's army's course but gather the other characters for a full on pledged climax fight. Fluttershy has hardly anything except the funniest moment in the entire film regarding opening up with a Storm King soldier.  Honestly want to know what became of those guys now. Spike, you trustworthy pal and weapon.  The TV show might have given you terrible episodes but who would have thought you'd become a necessary Pyro tool?  TF2 Workshop!  Make a mod!  NOW! Applejack...sold apple juice and roped a few people and rocks.  That's uh....that's about it. ....you all hate me now for this:  Twilight Sparkle ends up on the bottom heavily and deserves it all from actions, character writing and poor pace.  Our beloved Princess of Friendship is still the nerdy and orderly princess aimed at saving her home kingdom enough to act grumpy, annoyed and careless in her actions.  Said carelessness led to attempted robbery and created the biggest and most painful moment of the movie:  When Twilight angrily lashes out at Pinkie by saying she'd be better off without friends like them.  Not only was this stupidly painful, but it was the necessary tool for the whole "We're not friends anymore but then we get back together later" bit.  And said apology was being shoved in a climax to be ignored for comedic effect.  Now if perhaps both Twilight and Tempest were together during the end of the battle for apologies, that would not only be forgivable but an excellent moment for the movie.  But no...more like the Princess of Pace-dumping. Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh....I know, I know, this is a movie targeted towards children, but so was Coco.  It would really help if some of that Disney magic could save the MLP Movie from its Hasbro chains.  I know if the team wasn't being held back, they could have gotten away with much, much more to save the film from me giving it a 4/10. Well, this is the West Coast Psycho, and in the words of Max G, "I hope ya hated it."

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

Good God.

I finally managed to watch the final episodes of the show, and even though it wasn’t the most pitch-perfect ending ever (and even though I skipped like all of the final season), I still gotta dish out my thoughts on the whole thing. It’s not my tippy-top most favorite show, but it’s definitely the one with the most lasting impact on me. I mean, considering it created one of the biggest fandoms of all time, I’m pretty sure I’m far from alone there.

Obviously have to start from the beginning. I think I got into MLP around the 2nd season, maybe in the middle of it but definitely before the 3rd. I don’t exactly remember, since it was so long ago, but the first two seasons might hold some of the most saccharine, mindless nostalgia of all. Every single episode holds some spot in my memory, even the filler episodes with the cheesy notes to Celestia at the end of them. Honestly those were adorable, even if they were the classic kid’s show trope of “Let’s explain the moral to the kids who don’t have half a brain” but it’s actually pretty charming. That’s nostalgia talking, by the way. Obviously. If I found a new show today that did that, I’d roll my eyes a little, and I probably did when I was first watching the show. 

But, it’s an understatement that this was my life. Of course, I was at that time of my life where one thing could very easily become my entire world, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t matter to me. The pretty solid, unchanging artstyle gave me an opening to try and draw it, and for years I exclusively drew ponies, and even when I had a human character, I’d only be able to draw them in pony form, so I ended up meshing their stories into fanfiction on how they could become ponies. My “Icon” character at the time, Satyr, was probably the first original character I drew, and I can still remember the exact drawing I made of him. Obviously a pony, he was sort of larger and masculine, conveniently blinking eye so I didn’t have to deal with that, basic hair/tail styles, and for some reason a jagged zig-zag pattern going laterally across his body, like those “How would a horse wear pants?” memes. I thought it was really good, so I kept going, and here I am ages later still drawing stuff. I couldn’t even bare to fully ditch the shitty characters I made (and I’m going to explain them without context because I just feel like it): Satyr got split into his immortal and prince-ly side; Diane, a manic serial killer, shrunk down but kept her impossibly anxious personality; Gaseous is basically all the same, except he doesn’t meet the rest of the crew in what parts of his story I know about; Sistenagon (here we go with the weird names, they don’t mean anything) still kept his (her? Don’t actually remember which I called it) wasp-y nature, except in the form of an insect-based fairy tribe leader; Stelerachyt, who I drew as a Diamond Dog, is still a big, fluffy, dog, but turned into a more regal and kingly type of person; and Myriad Alloy (the only one with an actual pony name) got a complete makeover, and actually became my favorite end result after all is said and done.

Like, I love ranting about these guys. They were basically my own Mane Six. And yes, Satyr TOTALLY dated Twilight. Why wouldn’t he? Main character a Main character. Plus, he was supposed to be me, and I totally wanted to hit that. I’m not ashamed to admit it.

I mean, I guess a big part of why I actually went down that path was because of the large fanbase. I didn’t begin with the beginning of the show, but I guess I came in with the first large wave, so all of the stuff I made got just enough attention to make me think people wanted to see what I was making. If I started out with OCs, no one would’ve cared, and I very well could’ve stopped.

Even apart from that, this show definitely kick started my downward spiral into femininity. I mean, it’s pretty self-explanatory. Everyone “knew” MLP as being something super shallow, only to be enjoyed by shallow little girls, then they pumped out Friendship is Magic and everyone else loved it, so I gave it a shot, and I loved it too. Obviously every fandom has the people who openly, irrationally hate them, but the whole thing was welcoming enough to keep it solidified in my mind, and bish bash bosh, it kept going and will probably keep going into eternity. It’s funny, even then I drew Satyr with the more feminine pony design (not entirely because drawing the male pony type was harder), so I was setting myself up for the future.

I guess this kind of gives me a window to talk about My Life as a Teenage Robot, because for as long as I could remember before actually watching the show, I seriously despised any instance of XJ9 I could find. If an image of her popped up on screen, I would close it faster than if it was porn found while around my parents. I don’t know why she was so harshly ingrained in my mind. You could argue I just hated “girly” stuff before I realized I actually loved it, and didn’t want to face my emotions, but I wasn’t exaggerating at all about that porn thing. I actually couldn’t look at her for more than a second. But, one day I decided to cave in and see what was up, and soon enough she became one of my favorite cartoon characters of all time.

Back to ponies, some of the content produced by the fandom also had some extremely fond memories in my mind. I think I still have some songs by The Living Tombstone and WoodenToaster on my MP3 player (partially because it’s just good stuff) and for some reason playing on MLP-themed TF2 servers was actually really fun too. Some notable fandom people reacting to recent episodes was a spectacle I always looked forward to, and I still am subscribed to Saberspark and Ratchet on Youtube after all this time, probably as well as various other people who are still there but haven’t posted anything since the settling of the fandom. I just remembered, Hotdiggetydemon probably qualifies for all that too, since his .Mov series was the talk of the whole fandom. That, and Friendship is Witchcraft. I had to re-look up the name of that one though, but I still loved it.

I guess I should play favorites, huh? Favorites was the one game everyone in the fandom played. 

Favorite episode: Can’t not be a tie between the 2-parters of Season 2. Discord is a riot, and Chrysalis is actually one of my favorite villain designs of all time. I’m a sucker for both shapeshifters and bugs, so you can’t expect me to not like her. Glad she rode the villain boat till the very end, although reformed Discord is definitely fine too. Plus, the rest of the Changelings turned anyway.

Favorite song: You expect me to not tie things up here? The Flim Flam brother’s Super Cider Squeezy 6000 is great, as are the brothers themselves, and I also love This Day Aria, since it’s the focal point where people realized this show seriously wasn’t just colorful, cute ponies. The Art of the Dress is also pretty catchy. 

Actually, just remembered. Under Our Spell might be it. Took me a while to remember the EQG stuff, but that song is seriously good, and unironically better than the generic dribble that somehow magically beat it.

Favorite background pony(ies): Vinyl and Octavia are a pretty cute duo, and with the killer duet in the Slice of Life episode, ya gotta love em. Funny thing, though: There’s this background pony that looks almost identical to my current self-insert pony OC, with purple hair and a grey coat, with a seemingly writing-based cutie mark and green eyes. He’s even a unicorn too. It wasn’t intentional, I swear.

Favorite CMC: Sweetie Belle is too much. Her little squeaks are too pure. I can’t take it. Applebloom has nice colors, though.

Favorite Princess: If you don’t say Luna you’re a cop

Favorite non-pony species: Obviously Changelings, but after their reformation the honors actually switch to the Kirins, just because of how cool they look. The Yaks are pretty fun too. Speaking of…

Favorite nu-Mane Six (or are they called the School Six? Whatever, you know what I mean): All Yona. And yes, I had to look up her name was, who cares? She’s adorable.

Favorite of the Pillars of Equestria: I honestly love that they made Starswirl an actual character in the show. For the longest time, people just assumed he would stay in the form of Twilight’s Nightmare Night costume forever, but then they actually made him real! That’s really cool.

Favorite Equestria Girls design: Once again, Sweetie Belle steals both this spot and my heart.

And, of course… Favorite of the Mane Six:

Honestly, it just depends on the mood I’m in. Not even remotely lying there.

Fluttershy would’ve been my answer way back then, since I was into the shy types. There’s definitely something still there. You can’t deny that she’s the most cuddly of them all.

Twilight might’ve been a tie for the top around then too, since I was also the too-smart-for-humanity type. That leads into you liking the “smart” ones. Plus, in the latter half of the series, she did feel like she was put one step above the rest of the cast. That kinda makes her feel slightly off, I guess. Still like her, though.

Pinkie Pie’s one of those that I can imagine liking, but if I ever actually had to deal with that much energy I might actually melt. And, not in that I’m-totally-in-love kind of melting. Literal, actual melting. 

Rarity, in terms of concept, is easily my favorite type of character for the show. On the surface, she’s the generic fashionista type that every girl’s show has, but instead of her being someone who “just makes clothes” she’s actually seriously hard working and goes through all the regular motions you’d expect from an artist. Turning such a cliche on its head and giving it a much more realistic image is perfect for this show. Also, she’s purple. I like purple.

Not much really needs to be said about Applejack. She really seems like the most logical one of the group, even at the very beginning. That’s great to have when everyone else is acting like spoiled/sheltered brats (at least, when she’s not acting that way either).

But, I really gotta be honest… I’m never really in the mood for Rainbow Dash. She’s like the opposite of AJ, where she’s always some degree of arrogant, and even though watching her achieve her dreams is nice, her big head gets a little annoying for side gags. Also, if you showed me a plain picture of the Mane Six, I would’ve told you she was the main character instead of Twilight, just because she stands out so much more. I mean, the show isn’t called “Twilight Sparkle: Friendship is Magic,” but still.

If you really want a straight answer, I’m in a Rarity mood right now, so I’ll go with that. It’s probably the safest bet, because, like I said, I do love purple. Not just purple, but purple AND white put together. One of my favorite color combinations. Just add a little gold, and you’re, well, you know...

But… Yeah. All good things had to come to an end. I feel like its time came. Plus, they ended the show with the little story book thing they did in the very first episode, so as far as I’m concerned the series is complete. It did its job, anyway.

→ "Marine" is in reference to general Ocean life, which is very prominent in Coral Reefs.

Does sonic know the mane 6?

This is a great question!

Sonic ofc knows about the mane 6; I mean, doesn't everypony? But he's really only a friendly acquaintance of most the girls.

since he doesn't live in ponyvill due to constantly traveling (and has his own rocking set of friends) he doesn't find much time to hang with them. Especially when both sets of ponies are usually busy with adventures.

He does like to stop by in ponyvill every once and awhile, and has even bumped into the girls during his travels.

for instance, during a trip in Canterlot he offered to deliver some dresses for Rarity in exchange for fixing a hole in his scarf free of charge (that pony does not keep bits on him.) I think Rarity would have fixed it regardless, she is very generous like that, but sonic loves to take any opportunity to test his speed.

However, out of all the mane 6 I'd say he's closest with Rainbow dash! They meant during an event in cloudsdale and ended up having a blast racing each other, and often make time to race again if they're in the same area. After all, It's not often dash meets another pony who can really keep up with her.

Does Buckles occasionally speak in rhyme like Zecora?

Yep!

He mainly speaks like everypony else for the most part (he's been on the road most his life and is more used to how the ponies talk)

However, on occasion he'll rhyme ethier when extremely emotional or just unknowingly (and he loves to bring out that skill in rap battles lol)
