ok ok i KNOW this is really bitchy, but it's so nice to have someone actually understand pitch relationships!

i get that there are a lot of toxic examples of pitch romance in the comic and all but also 99% of the romance in the comic is toxic, lmao! it's how the comic is! no one goes "all love is evil because vriska was red for tavros and clearly was extremely toxic about it" or "all human romance is evil because dirkjake" or even "all human romance is evil because rosemary had some really complex issues in the preretcon timeline"

it's not hard to hold the thoughts that "pitch romance CAN be toxic and murdery" and "pitch romance can also have affection baked into it and doesnt have to be fucked up" in your head at the same time, they don't even contradict each other

andrew hussie also claims they are typical and fairly representative of accurate quadrants in troll society in the commentary on pages 2404, 2343, 2398, 2400, 2397, 2567, and on formspring. (not to mention that these ideas are also consistently backed up by the attitudes of trolls throughout the entire comic.)

at this point, if you still think that kismesissitude is simplistically toxic, you just weren't paying attention while reading.

I hate how quadrants are perceived tbf it’s partially because they aren’t taken very seriously in the comic but it’s pisses me off when people see a system of romance alien to them and try to fit it into human romance moreligance is not fucking platonic besties forever it’s bloody romance just in a form you have decided isn’t romantic romance is fucking made up its like gender but it’s infinitely more stupid and made up i like quadrants because as opposed to human romance it’s actually fucking interesting the relationships serve different functions moraileigence as support and kissmesis as driving each other to be better and it’s so fucking annoying to see this interesting concept and have everyone around you do stupid shit with it like wow those characters hate fuck and hurt each other they don’t drive each other to be better in the slightest I’m sure that’s definitely kismesis (not to say that can’t be kismesis I just hate that it’s so common) and not toxic matesprits

bard is always a hard class for me to wrap my head around

but i think that the bard is a very laid back and not very active, like they're not gonna be the one to step forward and do something

but i think the seer of hope could really motivate the bard towards the right path, being a hope player and all

i think they would have a really good balance between each other thanks to their godtiers

if you don't mind me asking, how would a "kisrail" (kismesis/moirail) relationship work/what might it look like? i've never considered it before and im curious!

A kisrail is a fusion between kismesis and moirail. It can mean a combination of both at the same time, or vacillating between the two. Or even both of those!

To me, the "I hate you more" argument between Sollux and Karkat in canon is PEAK kisrail behaviour.

Out of laziness I'm just gonna link to my panel again if you wanna know more about quads in general. Thou I never really touched on quadrant smearing in the panel. Maybe next time.

okay, so, a witch of blood!!! they're going to be hyperactive. they're going to be suuuper cheerful. they manipulate and change bonds, obligations, and so on. They're probably going to come off as an arrogant, busy person.

The prince of rage is a tough one. They're going to be nice and charming and charismatic. Why would you hate them! They destroy the negatives. They destroy the chaos. They destroy willpower. They destroy your will to fight. Think of a cult leader. Think of Kurloz Makara.

I think the Witch could possibly see past the friendly demeanor that the Prince has. They see past the Prince's calm persona and they see past what the others see. The witch can see how the Prince alters their bonds towards others. So I think there's a very strong foundation for them to hate each other here.
