decided to put the various doorways into bubbles on a tree and it's starting to look cool :3

already went to the Blue Skies dimensions, so that side is progressing nicely :D the other side is for Nether and Aether shenanigans, and i'll have twilight Forest under the tree in a canopy-like thing (future project). i'll probably have a basement for the underdark gate, but i don't know yet, don't really know what that dimension is good for :D

Hello hello! Before you start reading this chapter I want to thank you to @caldraws for giving me the idea for this part! This story may be a little long so I had to cut it into 2 parts so it's not too long bc I don't want you guys to read something that's that long.

This story will be taking place in Questions and Answers to Watching lies. It's sort of a prolog but at the same time it's kind of not at the same time. So to make it simple for you guys It's like a back perspective of what or what was happening to the other half part of the 2 chapters so...enjoy! :D

And sorry if I was away for like a day long so uhh...here's the next chapter I guess? Also if you're wondering on what the end looks like when I wrote in one of my chapters "a blue mushroom area" I am actually using the updated end mod in minecraft! So uhhh yeah!

Chapter 7

Freedom?...

Part 1/2

??? pov:

After centuries of spending my immortal lives banished in that barren wasteland he sent me to...I can finally...finally be free for once...but my fine time ended shortly when I wondered around the end until I passed by an opend ancient portal. It was covered in orange vines and some of those thalasium crystals 'this one must had been fixed by those other kings before him' I went into the lit portal heading on to the overworld. I wanted to see what the mortals we're doing in there mortal lives and see what there up to...

As I got through the portal I was thinking what the humans were planning to take over the end?, kill every single living thing that breathes, walk and crawl? Enslaving others? Or even better planning to destroy the nether...but unfortunately none of those ideas of mine were true but instead they built a civilization with tall houses and weird village's 'how long have I been banished for? Ive never seen mortals build something like this...' I thought to myself as i existed my mind scape and returned back to reality noticing a few humans near the stronghold seeing strange thigs they use for transportation 'i wonder what there up to..' I say to myself as a approach the huma not seen because apparently I'm still stuck on my ghost form I'm still free but not fully...I still needed my body back which is going to be a huge struggle since I have to drag that boy with me along the way I can't go through 3 dimensions in this form sure I am a God who can travel between universe's and worlds but my abilities somehow don't work in this form He  cursed me to, for almost an eternity...so I went closer what were the humans investigating...'the stronghold? What could they possibly want with this old structure?' I asked myself as I see the endstone slowly growing. As I slowly and carefully reached out to the endstone it started to create cracks the closer my hand(sort of claws, as you saw in one of my post about this) i came closer and closer revealing more cracks as I started to get closer with the endstone.

And as my hand(claws) interact with he endstone, a spike peirced through the cracks impailing one of he humans behind me causing him to pour out blood from his mouth leading himself to die....I was left in shock on how I have the ability to help the infection spread. This was a huge advantage for me to take over the overworld and defeat he nether and His upcoming armies.

As I was doing more of the infestation on the land I decided it was enough as Ieft taking pity on the humans and leaving the rest flee the scene Alive.

As I was following a random man (which is Shaw in Questions and Answers) for some little reason...I was finding more information about what were the human Really Planning because I wasn't convinced on that the mortals weren't planning something unexpected...as I was 'Stalking' this mortal named Shaw heading back home but first had to head to Steve's house 'huh...a human whi is looking for my Mortal Vessel? ' As I was observing him I noticed that Steve was more like a son to him. Once Shaw entered Steve's house only to come to witness his house looking like a ruin everything was broken down, shattered into small pieces. He was left in shock and wory he was then left running out of the house riding his so called 'car' he drove off leaving me in the middle of nowhere in front of someone's house.

I came into the house to check the place more looking at the cabinets, shelves, tables then I saw something...a book...I picked up the book and opened the first page...

Dear diary

Today was kind of weird...I was left in the middle of nowhere it was about to rain so I looked for shelter and found an open cave in the forest...

As I step deeper into the cave my clothes were soggy wet, like very wet I saw a dead person wearing a red cape, blue clothing and some other stuff I kind of don't remember...

I got deeper into the cavern finding a robot? I began chasing it while traveling through weird places and weird things until we stopped to a room filled with portals they call the checkpoint.

I was arguing with the small green round robot fighting about he fact they thought I was Stalking them

After a lady? Oh yes a lady popped out of nowhere.

I checked the other parts of the house, talked to myself for a while and left to go follow the Shaw guy going somewhere. Looks like he was heading to another mortals home I got closer to see the people. As I can now see everyone on my view I saw a mortal dragging another mortal behind him

Chris: what is it sarge?

The mortal asked

Shaw:...umm...why are you dragging Austin?

Shaw said with confusion and seriousness

Chris:here trying to avoid going to bed. Now what are you doing here at the middle of he night?

He answered and followed by another question needed to be answered

Shaw: I came here to ask you something...

Shaw answered

Chris: what does that have to do with me or Austin?

He followed by answering with confusion

(INSERT EXPLANATION CUZ IM LAZY AF RN)

The human(chris) was shock on what Shaw had just explained the mortal was thinking on how or when did it happen as a few seconds passed the human thought before coming back to reality.

Chris:*sigh* all this thinking is giving me a headache...but I can assure you, we can go ahead and investigate Steve's house and the portal tomorrow if you want

The human(Chris) says with confidence as Shaw thanked him that he would help him during the investigation

Shaw: thanks kid...I also might interrogate you 3 tomorrow

Shaw added

Chris:wait who's the third?

He asked

Shaw:oh its his robot

Shaw answered

Shaw:we also need to start the investigation early in the morning tomorrow so we can get this mystery solved in no time

Shaw added, and with that the human(Chris) nodded his head then gently closed the door while Shaw left and headed home

I was left alone behind a bush as I watched everything what they said

????: hehe this is going to be fun~

I left the house and searched around for a place to camp for now.

As the sky goes dark and night had fallen everyone was now asleep...my eyes felt heavy and I closed my eyes as I slowly drifted away from reality

so weird to see youtube videos recommended to you like "playing FORGOTTEN minecraft mods" and it's a mod that you just played with yesterday

So I wanted to try something.

Something I used to do a lot when I was younger was make videos in hopes people would see them and then I'd make it big as a YouTuber.

But recently, I've just been wanting to make videos just to create, and I decided I wanted to make a very casual playthrough series for the Better Than Adventure mod for Minecraft.

Fair warning, I do curse a lot, and that will probably be reflected in any video I make. These are not for kids.

I'll be uploading a video a day at 9:00 AM EST/EDT, and I will only go as long as I'm having fun. I don't want to turn this into a job currently. Watch, don't watch, doesn't particularly matter to me. I just want to do it for my sake.

ENDKING!STEVE

Chapter 12:

Encounter

Mesa pov:

My lands were being covered by these strange liquids...'where did these come from?' I asked myself while taking off my helmet...'what even are these things-' I was cut off from an accidental drop from the liquid and oh boy am I glad I didn't get splashed, yet I was very worried...turns out these liquids can tear through any metallic material weather it can be Gold, copper, aluminum, or even steel. The liquid fell through the floor of course I had to do something about this and that means...going to the overworld...

I faced palmed my face because I had to deal with 2 things...first, I can't get caught and Secondly, IT HAD TO BE STEVE I NEED TO ASK FOR HELP. I swear to the ancients myself I would rather die than ask that annoying bastard to help. He's the only one who can help me get rid of these f##ing thing plaguing my dimension...so I ventured on to the overworld looking for a little town connected to a city. Luckily it didn't take me too long to find Steve's home town. I turned to my human disguise as I went down to the small town below the small hills. I walked down the sidewalk and couldn't help but notice that...there's so many papers flying by, to the point that one of it flew on towards my face. I removed the paper and...Steve is missing?...I did saw a few police cars drove by, I don't believe it, Steve? Missing? No way. I was amused. There's only a few people outside of town...probably because there afraid that I might attack there city again...well not yet atleast...

Few minutes later

I finally got to the small town where Steve lives the white small building was tainted with...purple stains? I went to the back of the house and...I was left with a choice either to run and cowar away or stay and further investigate the matter...of course I stayed, without any knowledge about the things happening right now...I followed the trail of endstone comming to a large endstone patch with Spikes and chorus fruits growing along with it, the trees that surrounded the area became a dark purple-ish color with bright glowing purple leaves, and don't get me wrong some of the trees were big like real big(same size as a huge jungle tree) and I'm not even lying when I say these trees were pretty. But sadly these also were on my dimension and causing chaos to breakout out of control...so I had to head on over to the end to get more information on where this is all started and how to end this plague...

Somewhere in the endless horizon beyond the void...

Steve pov:

I stared over the endless sky. A tear formed on my eye, sliding down my cheeks and splashing down to the ground, sending me to the endless void...trapped with no way out...cold, empty and lonely with the only the figure keeping me company...I looked up to face them...I felt a hand slide on my cheeks and I felt the warm and soft touch of the large humanoid figure in front of me...I opend my eyes the figure waiting for me to say something

Steve:...was that really ment to happen? How am I still alive? Why did they leave me to die?

I asked everything that was running through my mind questioning the figure

????:....

????:you might not even belive me or even care much for the Answer since I believe you should already know by now...instead, let yourself rest for now. We have somewhere to go in a few days...

(tomorrow doesn't exist on the end so I couldn't think of anything so I just went along with it)

The void the started to dissappear and so did the figure. My ears twitched as I heard a russling sound from one of the islands that were not quite far from the islands surrounding the kingdom...I headed on to go check it out. Wearing my elytra (galaxy themed because the normal one was too plain and boring) and wearing the a dragon mask which what the figure was wearing(it was sort of a gift I guess...), and flew towards the sound

Chris pov:

We got to the portal ready to beat the dragon so we get to the outer end islands but...where was the dragon?...we stepped further onwards seeing dry blood painted the cold floor heading to the portal towards the gateway to the outer islands. The blood only ment that...Steve lived the fall...I was filled with happiness but it was covered with multiple layers of guilt...we went to the stair building. Step-by-step we slowly got to the top. We pearled together and entered the outer end. We were greeted with a large blue mushroom Forrest which I like, but there's no time for distractions we had something else to do.

I heard a russle from the bushes and it was a gigantic purple and yellow purple frog. Austin got closer to the large frog and the frog leaps over Austin and this is where it all starts to go downhill...the frog leaped and crushed Austin!

(IM HAVING TO MUCH LAUGHTER HOLY SHIT, XDD poor Austin)

A few minutes passed and we finally got Austin out of being smoshed into smithereens. We ventured on to be in a open orange forest only to see more and more of the beauty that this place had to offer there were even small ponds with some end fish in it! It was all to good. We all let our guard down from the beauty this dimension had to offer. We stumbled upon a cave with some colorful crystals in it. We didn't want ot ruin the area so we just leave it be only admiring the glowing rocks, finally something that sharp and not deadly for once...but...since we let our guard down we were very vaunrable at this point...we didn't even noticed that someone...was watching us...until..we heard a voice comming from one of the

i put the Additional Placements mod in my pack and it adds vertical slabs and everyangled stairs. i've previously used this mod pretty much exclusively to show my friends Vaguely Cursed Screenshots™.

but today i was playing around in my creative test world to see if i could use it to make a decent looking house.

basically, the answer to my question is a resounding..."sorta". see, the technique works, but it has some big limitations to work around. for a start, those pillars arent just a stylistic choice, they're to hide the fact that there isn't a good way to wrap the outer wall around the inner one when it takes a corner. so if i want a wall with an inward bend, i have to either stick a pillar inside somewhere or do some weird stretching with the shape of the walls to accommodate a change from inner to outer slabs. which also affects where windows can be placed. and when it's like it is in the picture, i can't put any lights or decorations on the walls.

so, like, if i really want a room to have a different interior texture, and it has to be one block wide, i can do it, but generally speaking it's more a pain in the ass than it's worth. what i really need is a modern version of Forge Multi Part, since right now i'm just faking what microblocks would do.

[Minecraft Blog 2024 500th Post]

Edwardos is a small blog, but it's come a long way. So has my modding skill in the last 15 months. Welcome to an incomplete exhibition of what I've spent that time working on, a work-in-progress Minecraft Beta 1.8 revision mod. It's called Noticeably Beta 1.8, and here come some of its sparkly images!

Starting out this afternoon with a fresh NBODE survival world so I can naturally show you what's in it, you can see I have no hunger bar... Note also the orthogonal grass.

I think that tall grass looks way better. It was a real challenge to implement, too. One of the first changes I did!

Hunger has no place in a mod like this. The purpose of Noticeably Beta 1.8 is to revise Beta 1.8 until it's still familiarly Beta 1.8, but considerably good. I am trying to turn a copy of Beta 1.8 into the ultimate patch based on Beta 1.8 (for now).

Tall grass cuttings and dead bushes can be obtained easily by attacking them with any sword.

I deliberately wrecked the achievement system's shit - e.g. I got rid of that annoying notification to open your inventory every time you start the game from scratch - but it's more unintentionally broken than I thought, more to come on that later.

I have reprised my Chain Links days by adding the logical chainmail armour crafting to this mod as well. The chain links are in the inventory's bottom right.

We have a Survival Test style score counter in NBODE. Actually, we also have one for experience.

In a new house. It uses four of my new blocks in this image alone. I'll leave you to work that out...

Noticeably Beta 1.8 is spooky. There are a lot of Creepers. I'm not responsible for that part, I think Beta 1.8 just literally spawns more Creepers. And you can't sprint. I'll let you off the hook, that ceiling is hard sand. I was inspired by a grungy sand castle in a cartoon I saw to make a variant of sand that doesn't fall. It's smarter than you think.

Emeralds generate at high altitudes, but not in a way that you just see them plastered all over the sides of rock cliffs.

The emeralds can be crafted into tools. But not armour. It's smarter than you think.

I was being chased by this Creeper in SECOND-PERSON MODE.

In a stroke of fortune he revealed two of the other features I was supposed to showcase, invisible clay deposits and mineral gravel.

Mineral gravel has random drops of dust stuff, and like emeralds it's in the mountains.

You can do this.

It wouldn't be Beta 1.8 without newly having access to these.

The idea with building blocks in this mod is that you don't find different kinds of rocks in the ground to craft those. Instead, you collect OG rocks and gravelly deposits and you mix them together until you get tarmac, or soilstone. Or soilstone cobble (which was a totally original texture and REALLY hard to draw). Or varnished sandstone. Or broad sandstone. Or hard sand. The underground stays classically uniform.

I didn't have time to find that other one, but this isn't the only new gem I've added. My take on balancing is goooooooood...

Giant mushrooms in Beta are fantastic. Now you can make food out of any of them.

And they stack to two now.

That's not very noteworthy in a hunger system Minecraft game, but when starvation is totally gone and food instantly heals hearts, having 8.0 points on your hotbar slot at once is a big deal.

I'll be real with you, this is an annoying bug I have to fix. You may have noticed that this is the second time this post has seen me get the wooden sword achievement now. It's a pretty bad one. I only discovered it while playing this version tonight.

Now, some of my other vicious fix attempts on the other hand, now those...

Those are on point.

And that leaves us with the end of Post 500 for this convenience storefront of Tumblr. But before I go, I gotta say something... I started this mod in December 15 of 2022, and it's been a real journey. I've been proud of my idea to do this with Beta 1.8 since it was just an idea. And it's more than an idea now, it's the tangible result of a newbie modder with not much Java experience spending months of effort to get better at the job than he ever dreamed.

However, there's a sad side... With Minecraft, I've for a long time been absolutely terrified of plagiarists, or people otherwise getting to claim my ideas before I can. Actually my life on every topic is like that. I have too many ideas and I want to somehow protect all eleventy of them. I can't really say why, but I am feeling the pressure to get the full release of the first patch of Alpha of this mod done in a short amount of time so I can release it publicly as fast as I can. I'm feeling halfway certain my time is running out. I don't want to lose the race, if there is one. See, I had it within reason that I was going to be the first to make a revision mod of Beta 1.8. It makes sense, right? And as far as I know I'm the only person who calls this genre of mod a "revision mod". Nobody in the Minecraft community seems to popularly take Beta 1.8 seriously, not retro fans or people on the new edge. I was smart enough to realize it might have a special set of hidden talents, even though it's known as the "hated" update. But somebody else might screw with that. Can call it paranoia, hopefully.

Thanks for reading my blog. It's not "taken off", but on any posting day I see random 5 note clusters in my activity immediately when I get posting, and honestly I guess I just want to say that makes me happy. Now let's hope I can achieve another one of my dreams.
