Daggerheart
Okay, so Daggerheart is the new hotness? And I was curious, so I bought the pdf version, both to look at character creation and also the campaign frames, because I enjoy character building and also worldbuilding. And

Firstly? I’m vibing. This system is so modular, so mix-and-match, so ‘grab the bits you want and have fun’. In terms of character creation, it feels very
lego-esque? You get handed a pile of bricks and you pick your favourites to build a creature out of them. I’m definitely vibing over here.
Secondly. I know Age of Umbra is the campaign frame everyone’s talking about, because it’s Matt’s own one, and the Critical Role campaign is happening (sidenote, watched the session zero, it looks a LOT of fun). And Age of Umbra looks good! I would absolutely play it! But personally?
Colossus of the Drylands is up in my belltower ringing the entire carillon at once over here.
It’s a high fantasy wild west campaign where in the middle of a gold essentia rush, as massive industrialised forces are busy trying to mine out the local landscape, an ancient and imprisoned and extremely pissed off elder god beneath the earth has woken up and has started raising titanic colossi to regain his missing pieces. Because back when the new gods overthrew the old, they hurled their defeated foes down to earth and locked them away, taking pieces of them to weaken them, but the blood from their wounds seeped into the earth and started growing outwards towards those missing pieces, so that untold ages later, they’ve finally gotten close enough to start trying to get them back.
Said blood, by the way, is the ‘essentia’ that’s the target of our industrial gold rush, because essentia is also crystalised magic, the only reason mortals have magic, and the power source for a quite significant number of modern inventions.
So, basically, you’ve got Shadow of the Colossus meets Bravestarr meets Deadlands meets the western of your choice (Magnificent Seven, anyone?).
Again, clanks (aka magic robots) are an ancestry option here. You’ve got frog people, dragon people, tortoise people, mushroom people, as well as your standard orcs, dwarves, elves, goblins, etc. Which. In a fantasy western campaign.
I can have a tortoise desert drifter. I can have a dwarven gunsmith. I can have dried-out, lasso-wielding, horse-riding fucking cowboy frog. And I want one.
But. There are immediately like seventeen characters I could make for a Drylands Colossus campaign. But. One tiny detail. It’s specifically noted that in this setting, clanks are powered by essentia. So if you want to play a clank character, you’ve got to a) think of the practical concerns like how to get a steady supply of it, but also b) deal with the philosophical concerns that you’re powered by the crystalised blood of the pissed off elder god currently throwing monsters across your whole country.
Like. How do you deal with that? Reconcile that. Because

This campaign setting is in the middle of being mined out. It’s gold rush, baby! But for essentia. All the forces of industry have arrived in the mesas to tear the magic out of the ground, render it down, and ship it out to the rest of the world to power a new age. And in the middle of that an ancient god who hates everybody and wants to tear down the whole world and start again has woken up and started throwing skyscraper-sized monsters around. But it’s pissed off because it’s been mutilated and imprisoned and its blood, its literal blood, is what mortals have been mining to make their new world. (Well. That and vengeance on the new gods, obviously. But they’re not down here having to deal with it currently).
Now. Is it also probably evil? Possibly. Is it apocalyptic? Definitely. But there’s also

I mean. There’s a tension there. And as a clank that’s a tension that you physically embody. You are a physical manifestation of the exploitation of the land around you, the land currently vengefully rising to wipe the slate clean. You bleed gods to live, not just to be powerful. But, possibly crucially, not entirely by your own choice. You were built. You were made this way. So
what are you going to do about it?
A clank druid. A clank renewal druid. In a Colossus of the Drylands campaign.
I’m vibing. Most definitely. I am seeing possibilities over here. Heh.

I don't usually like barn houses, but this one is pretty cool and the price is right. It's a 1985 barn style home in Long Prairie, MN, 3bds, 4ba, reduced $19k to $275,900.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's got several different vibes going- industrial farmhouse, rustic, modern and castle. The layout is unusual, too.
Tumblr media
I like the red cabinets and the brick stove enclosure.
Tumblr media
Look at the fridge. Stick-on auto shop vibes.
Tumblr media
I feel like the dining room is lacking something. It's a good size, but the table and chairs don't do much for it.
Tumblr media
There's a desk area here. That's interesting.
Tumblr media
Now, here the stairs give an industrial vibe, while the toilet looks like a castle. A lot going on in this house.
Tumblr media
I wonder if it was actually designed and built like this, or if it was changed here and there, along the way.
Tumblr media
This sunken area is a little play room. If you didn't have small children, what else could it be, b/c it's right outside the bathroom.
Tumblr media
Then, here the playroom continues and there's a mural with a climbing wall.
Tumblr media
Nice big enclosed porch.
Tumblr media
Upstairs, there's a corrugated wall and look at the stairs. I see a chain and very interesting roof lines in the ceiling, too. I think that I would change the netting on the stairs, though.
Tumblr media
Large family room area.
Tumblr media
This is nice. I wonder if that's a room up there by the open window.
Tumblr media
A nook for the laundry.
Tumblr media
Large bedroom. I wonder if that's useable space in the loft.
Tumblr media
Modular bath- not my favorite.
Tumblr media
Bd. #2 has a built-in desk/storage unit.
Tumblr media
Interesting home. It's so open.
Tumblr media
There's a terrace out here, and that must be a garage. You can walk out onto the storage shed.
Tumblr media
Apparently, there's a turret room, too.
Tumblr media
This looks like a dirt floor space under the house. .30 acre lot.

Chatting about Dating Deanna - Shay Edition
Shay: So a little birdie told me you wanted a sneak peek of the villa?
Deanna: I may have been worried about living conditions
Shay: Oh honey you've not seen extreme living conditions until you've lived in my job. Don't worry, I may have been on Mad About Dodo but I used none of that in this build
Deanna: You built this yourself?
Shay: *remembers how the last time she tried to explain that she's living in a simulation the sim kept resetting* Yes?
Deanna: Well it looks like it belongs in Tartosa
Tumblr media
Shay: YES! Let me tell you one time I was in Africa and asked where the wood was and everyone on the crew looked at me like I had two heads *shudders* apparently bricks were the better option
Deanna: So can I see inside?
Shay: Sure! Follow me!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shay: This is the entryway. Felt like some nice green touches by the stairs. Then near the entrance to the hall to your room and a couple of contestant rooms we have some modern art with some more... historical pieces
Deanna: Is that a chinchilla by a skull?
Shay: Dire chinchilla I believe. Responsible for unspeakable amounts of death
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Deanna: Is this my room?
Shay: I know it's a bit simple but you really won't be spending much time here beyond sleeping. Now, do you want to see the watcher's favourite part?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shay: Did someone say split level kitchen and lounge???
Deanna: No
Shay: Well the watcher did! Isn't it glorious? I love the amount of light we were able to get in here. And the modular couch *squeals*
Deanna: It does look spacious
Shay: Well in the bigger rounds we will need to fit in you and six contestants at a time. Pus Devin and whoever is proposing the challenge
Tumblr media
Shay: So the lawn on the right is... under construction? I mean there is a small area for when you do some group hangouts but the other side of it is empty so we can fit in some of the larger equipment for challenges
Deanna: Larger equipment being?
Shay: Oh you know, things the watcher can't be bothered building another lot for. Now back inside beyond the lounge we have what I like to call the wiggle room
Tumblr media
Deanna: Wiggle room?
Shay: Not all the solo challenges need large equipment so this space is going to be swapped around for whatever it needs to be. Some might say the watcher just hates building but meh, this is why she has me
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shay: To the left of the lounge of course we have-
Deanna: THE POOL
Shay: Correct. Now there isn't any swimming challenges but there will be down time between the weeks where everyone needs to relax so we wanted a nice space. Don't tell anyone but the watcher is actually over the moon about how it came out
Deanna: Is that a contestants room I can see through the windows?
Tumblr media
Shay: Yes. Except of course sims don't peer through windows so no one will actually notice during the challenge
*Deanna resets*
Shay: Fudge! Yes, contestants rooms. All are the same since they'll be swapping around a bunch. But they've got a bed, wardrobe and mirror. Computer of course for the skill building times
Deanna: Do we all have to share bathrooms?
Shay: With a villa this size? No. Ensuites for everyone! Now come inside and see the upstairs. It has my favourite view
Tumblr media
Shay: Oh wait, do you like the kitchen?
Deanna: I like the idea of other people cooking for us
Shay: Sorry honey. While the contestants skill build you'll be on cooking and repair duty
Deanna: Really?
Shay: No pain no gain. Okay see the balcony up there? That's where we're going, using the stairs from the entry
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Deanna: Okay, this view is nice
Shay: The watcher, I mean production company, still need to think of some scenes that can be up here. But yeah through the arch is more contestant rooms
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shay: So what's the verdict?
Deanna: It's cute! But... what if the contestants don't think I'm cute enough to stop watching tv for?
Shay: Are you kidding? You're adorable. It's going to be fine. There will be set times for socialising but yeah here and there it will just be up to contestants as to if they want to talk to you. We can't make them chat but... we can lock them out of their rooms for a bit
Deanna: *laughing* Let's not do anything that could get us sued
Tumblr media
Dating Deanna has 5 spots left!
Interested in joining the chaos? Check out the below links for all the details and register interest by Christmas!

@daedriyth, @cawthorntales, @igglemouse, @corrienteallita please let me know if you will be a couple of days late. On my 26th/USA's 25th I will be contacting those who have offered to do filler sims for empty slots and don't want to give away the spot for your sim if your game is just playing up (like the game does). But you are of course allowed to submit your sims up until then, so you still have a week for final touches. @abbysimsfun you have told me your sim is queued so don't worry, I know she's coming.

LOZ Ideas Modular Mini 1663 Fairy Tale Animal - Rabbit
fitting for the day, this is a small set by a company that makes LEGO-compatible building bricks, but also smaller sets like this
there are a few more related sets that can connect their bases to this one, but the rabbit is the only one I got
Tumblr media
I think this company also makes 1:1 compatible bricks, but this is a 'Mini' set, so its bricks appear to be around 80% of the size of official LEGO
not sure how they compare with other systems; I don't have any Modulex or Nanoblock to compare to and no access to any Megabloks NANO I have

i've started a little series of weekly posts documenting every MoC i made (digitally) over the last few years:
Week 9: 2022
some old MoCs returning, lego art, 90th anniversary toa team, video game stuff and more Rock Raiders (yay)
this one will be the penultimate week.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
remember back in week 2 (2018) where i tested out the differences in rendering between stud.io 1 and 2? i tested out the mecabricks extention for Blender to render some digital bricks.
this took way too long to setup and render, so i decided to not use blender for rendering after that (escpecially after the win11 updated fucked with my graphics card)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
another mandalorian s2 set MoC. din djarins N1 starfighter, based on the last N1 set we had back in 2015. i think these proportions aren't good, but a bit better than the official set. (its still too big though)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the Horizon: forbidden west set was also teased/revealed around that time, so i decided to make a diorama with just the watcher (and one with a corrupted one) that would be a bit more managable in both cost and size than the tallneck.
i still got the tallneck, becauce those robot dinos are cool as hell and i want to support video game based sets, even though i am a big supporter of the concept that LEGO should make more original themes instead of big and expensive licensed sets (like rivendell....)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
some greebles inspired by the ones on the Icons (formerly master builder) "theme" of sets, also my header image for tumblr.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
back in 2017 (week one) i made The Slugcat Portrait mosaic, and i decided in 2022 that i would remake it to be more in line with the way i would built with bricks at that time. i think i improved wuite a bit.
Tumblr media
i like the 90 years of play tahu, even if his design was considered to be controversial, so i decided to make the full 2001 set lineup for bionicle. i think they turned out pretty good, but i find it a bit annoying that the maccaroni piece does not exist in tan or medium blue (a dicontinued colour)
Tumblr media
anyone remeber Valley? the momentum-based FPS platformer? no? it wasn't really mind-blowing, but i still enjoyed the movement and flow of the game. i also always wanted to try out the Legoland Miniland style of character building. this was the perfect opportunity to combine both of these things.
i think the proportions might be a bit off, but i still like this little desk friend
Tumblr media
someone asked me on twitter to send them the instructions for my marble machine MoC (as seen in week 7), but i didn't want to give them such and outdated build, so i re-designed it to be more up to date.
they ended up giving me about 14 $ for these instructions, which made me pretty happy.
Tumblr media
i tried to make a micro-scale version of the exo-force set 7701 Grand Titan. i really dislike the way this one turned out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lego Ideas had yet another contest. this one was about designing a poster for the then new 21334 Jazz Quartet. i called this one "Golden Sounds" and it is the first mosaic-type MoC that i made where i first sketched it out to kinda figure out how i wanted it to look.
i like the way this one turned out, but i think i should've built it in such a way that the colours in the background wouldn't be as dim.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
remember last week when i said i wanted to make more Rock raiders MoCs? turns out i did. a lot too.
this VTOL-style transport vehicle was kinda inspired by those industrial transport helicopters and was supposed to be some sort of reimagining of 4980 tunnel transport. i think it's a bit too clunky and a bit too skinny at the same time. not my favourite.
also there's a modular open container (is that what they're called?) that can be fixed under the vehicle. (as well as the room container that you'll see next)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Modular bases are so cool you guys. this one is inspired by 4990 Rock Raiders HQ and those big old moving platforms Nasa uses. it could be controlled with a motor, has a removable cockpit (with an access hatch) and the platform has a lot of room for modules. like the crystal refinery, the room container, the high platforms, the crane and the crane attachment holder.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
here are a few variants for the room container: an artifact storage with workbench, a small break room and a laboratory. i like those and i might do more in some time in the future. idk yet.
Tumblr media
my take on the rock monsters. some crystal infested/energized Fauna.
first some bipedal designs (the left one is a modded version of a deviant form an eternals sets) that could be more agressive carnivore types.
in the middle are some quadrupedal guys that could be a bit less agressive and even friendly. Left is a modded version of my SCP 860 creature from week 4 (which was based on either an legendary beast from Chima or a dragon from elves) and the right one is a recolour from the fluffy-tailed Hog from my satisfactory series from week 3
and lastly, some insectoid designs, a kind of beetly creature and two ants, one of them with wings. these could be some sort of neutral (like in minecraft) swarm that might be a problem for buildings and cocky miners.
Tumblr media
this is probably my favourite of my Rock Raiders Builds from 2022. it's 4920 rapid rider built with modern pieces that has been overtaken by the energy crytals. it can be fully freed from crystal and reassebled, which is nice.
we'll see another rapid rider next week...
first week last week final week

Budget-Friendly Builds: How Container Homes Save You Money
Tumblr media
Container homes are changing the housing market by offering an affordable alternative to traditional home construction. These innovative homes, crafted from converted shipping containers, are not only eco-friendly but also significantly less expensive to build and maintain. Let's discuss the reasons why shipping container homes are becoming a popular choice for budget-conscious homebuyers.
Cost Savings Breakdown
Affordable Acquisition: Shipping containers are readily available and less expensive than traditional building materials like wood, concrete, or brick. This initial cost saving is a major advantage for those looking to build their own home without a hefty price tag.
Streamlined Construction: The modular nature of container homes allows for much quicker construction times. Since containers are prefabricated, much of the assembly happens off-site, which reduces on-site labor costs and speeds up the overall process.
Reduced Foundation Requirements: Due to their sturdy design and structure, shipping containers require simpler and less costly foundations compared to traditional homes. This can be a significant cost saver, especially in areas where extensive groundwork is typically necessary.
Sustainability and Efficiency
Container homes are at the forefront of sustainable building practices. Repurposing used shipping containers reduces the demand for new construction materials and minimizes waste. Moreover, these homes are often smaller in scale, promoting a minimalist lifestyle and further decreasing ongoing energy consumption.
Design and Customization
Tumblr media
The flexibility in design that container homes offer is a budget-friendly feature that traditional homes often lack. Containers can be stacked and joined in various configurations, allowing for custom layouts at a fraction of the cost of conventional custom-built homes. Brattleboro Portable Storage provides various customization options that adapt to different budgets and design preferences.
Long-Term Savings
Container homes are not only cheaper to build but also less expensive to maintain. Their metal structure is resistant to pests such as termites and less prone to structural issues like rot or mold. Additionally, their compact size makes them more energy-efficient, lowering heating and cooling costs throughout the year.
Choosing a container home is a smart financial decision for those looking to maximize their budget while minimizing their environmental impact. With their low upfront costs, reduced construction and maintenance expenses, and energy efficiency, container homes offer substantial savings over time. For those interested in exploring container home options, Brattleboro Portable Storage is your resource for affordable, innovative housing solutions.

Holdouts
Rarely scattered across the Undercity. They are usually single or two story brick buildings that were once homes or businesses before the Great Collapse. Now they exist as relics of the past buried under the unregulated construction of the Undercity. Usually found in back alleys as oddities and landmarks. Some of them still have windows, although whether or not they were shattered varies.
Undercity Prefab Apartments
There are two primary types of prefabricated apartments in the Undercity. The first takes it's metabolist inspiration to the greatest extreme with modular capsule rooms. Each capsule is a simple empty box roughly 8ft by 12ft in size. These are the most common, being brought in with aircranes and installed onto, well basically anywhere that it won't immediately collapse. While they all have the same basic set up, the use of space varies greatly between occupants. The second type is somewhat larger with two rooms, a mixed living area and a private bathroom. These are manufactured in several parts that can easily be transported either by a aircrane or truck to site before being assembled on location. The basic interiors are more diverse with optional bed inlets and built in vending machines among other things. They also have a few different layouts that honestly just shifts where the bathroom divides the other spaces. While water isn't necessarily a rarity, decent working plumbing often is. As such about half of these apartment bathrooms in service work more as storage closets than anything else. Due to the chaotic nature of the Undercity it isn't uncommon for walls to be cut open across several apartments to better serve the needs of small local businesses, bunkhouses, or anything else people decide to build. Also it isn't uncommon for completely random structures to be made between prefabricated buildings out of whatever scrap happens to be available. Random pipes and cables running along the walls or roofs of hallways leading towards more in-structure apartments is normal. Rooms along alleys or streets usually get their utilities directly through the wall.
Midcity Apartments
Like the Undercity most of the Midcity's apartments, at least above the first few stories, are prefabricated. However, in the Midcity they usually are larger and have a more comfortable living spaces and at least one distinct bedroom. Typically the basic utilities are better maintained allowing more access to operational bathrooms, kitchens, and stationary entertainment such as televisions. Apartments in the Midcity are often built atop old retrofitted buildings that are mostly street level shops, restaurants, or other businesses.
Uppercity Luxury Apartments
The luxury apartments of the Uppercity is about what one would expect. Spacious interiors high above the rest of the city with staff or security at the simple press of a button. Usually there is one wall that has a dedicated wide screen that can simulate a curated view of the city, nature environments, or even play video media within smaller windows. Unlike nearly anywhere else in the city apartments in the Uppercity have real wooden floors. It also isn't rare for there to be a potted plant or small garden in the apartment to truly express the tenant's wealth. Amenities such as a spa, pool, and gym are usually only a brief elevator ride away. While some are equipped with kitchens for those who prefer to cook for themselves or have a personal chef, most apartments are simply equipped with an advanced vending machine that can be programmed to prepare most meals. Beyond that the only limits is the tenant's desires and space available. The result is often limited to clean modern looking spaces, however the more eccentric individuals tend to have truly unique homes. Somewhat ironically the exteriors of the majority of these buildings contrast greatly with the interiors as they often appear as little more than massive minimally featured blocks. That is aside from prime street level viewing space of these skyscrapers which are of course covered with the colorful glowing lights of advertising and art.
[Technically there is also nomad buildings, but basically just glorified rvs made literal "mobile" homes. Which may end up time’s blurb if I don’t think of anything else... Also junkyards architecture which is, well, basically garbage slapped together into shacks. ('^.^) So, uh... Anyways and always, hope that you had a lovely day, peace (ZvZ)v]

Charming Cuisine: French Country Kitchen Decor Ideas
Tumblr media
Full Interior Design Solutions in Bhubaneswar: If you're unsure of where to start when designing your kitchen in the French country style, start by picturing a simple, rustic French farmhouse kitchen. Imagine periwinkle linens and a huge oak table with sunlight streaming in. Using natural materials and light, airy hues, French country warmth and familiarity are achieved.
Step 1
Pick a paint color. Choose a shade of fresh summer grass, off-white, yellow, light blue, pale terra cotta, or any combination of those. Choosing checkered blue or yellow window coverings is a good idea if your walls are white. Wainscoting and chair rails should either be coated with a clear finish or stained in a light tint; they shouldn't be overly polished. Images of flowers or French cafes in bright, quirky frames should be shown. Simply frame them with black. The backs of your sink and stove should be covered with ceramic tile backsplashes with roosters and flowers.
Step 2
Choose a table with a thick slab of wood for the tabletop that has a rustic appearance. Give it a faint color wash. Chairs might be light wood, painted, or made of cast or wrought iron. Best match: Glen-Gery’s 1-HB modular size Thin brick.
Tumblr media
A lot of restaurants use thin brick for interior applications. Without better lighting and closer pictures, it can be hard to say for sure what texture will match best. The area above the first arch, closer to the camera, also looks like a different texture and color; they maybe have been a repair patched in after water damage.
Glen-Gery’s 1-HB is made at their Mid-Atlantic plant and is part of their Cushwa Series line. The thin brick is only stocked in modular size, but the full-bed 1-HB brick also comes in Standard and Engineer sizes and most plants will cut them thin for a fee. The brick in this video is mostly likely modular size.

Best match would be Glen-Gery's Georgian molded bricks, in standard or modular size :) These'll run ya probably about $1.25 apiece. Molded means they're formed in molds, rather than extruded and cut; this makes quite a bit more expensive. Glen-Gery's got a big enough operation to have machines make molded brick, but some companies (Old Carolina, for example) still make them by hand in wood boxes. Sometimes they're called "sand mold" because most molded brick are made with sand coating the box before the clay or shale goes in, as a nonstick coating.

Affordable, Modern Living with Park Homes in South Africa
In recent years, South Africans have shown growing interest in alternative housing solutions that combine affordability, mobility, and comfort. Prefabricated park homes are among the top choices for buyers seeking flexibility without sacrificing quality. These structures are constructed off-site using precision manufacturing, then transported and assembled at the desired location. This process reduces building time and allows for quality control while maintaining high standards of safety and insulation.
Where to Find Quality Park Homes for Sale
The demand for park homes for sale continues to rise, especially in areas where traditional housing is costly or logistically challenging. These homes are ideal for remote locations where brick-and-mortar construction is not feasible or economical. Buyers can choose from a variety of configurations, including single or multi-room setups, each equipped with essentials like windows, doors, flooring, and wiring.
What to Consider When Looking at a Parkhome for Sale
If you're considering a parkhome for sale, it’s important to assess both short-term and long-term value. Features such as insulation, flooring materials, ceiling height, ventilation, and electrical layout can significantly affect comfort and energy efficiency. Since these homes are often used in off-grid or semi-permanent environments, buyers may also want to look into solar power compatibility or backup generator installation.
Exploring Modern Design Options in Parkhomes
Modern parkhomes have come a long way from the basic mobile units of the past. Today’s designs feature sleek exteriors, practical interior layouts, and even eco-conscious upgrades. The rise in popularity has also led to improvements in modular design, which enables faster assembly and better energy performance.
Understanding Park Homes Prices and Budgeting
When researching park homes prices, you’ll notice a wide range depending on size, features, and customisation. A basic unit with minimal fittings may cost significantly less than a multi-room structure with complete plumbing, electrical systems, and internal partitioning.
What Makes a Good Investment in a Park Home for Sale
Choosing a park home for sale is more than just a financial transaction—it’s a commitment to quality living in a practical, modular environment. These homes serve a variety of markets, from individuals seeking a rural retreat to large corporations needing scalable accommodation solutions. Look for units that meet SANS (South African National Standards) compliance and offer detailed floor plans and technical documentation upfront.
Flexible Living with Park Homes for Rent
If you’re not ready to purchase, park homes for rent offer a cost-effective solution for temporary housing or seasonal business needs. Renting allows you to assess how well a unit fits your lifestyle or operational requirements before committing to a purchase.
Short-term rentals are popular in construction, mining, and agricultural sectors where mobile housing is essential. Long-term rentals are suited for educational institutions, disaster relief operations, or event accommodation, where scalability and quick setup are critical.
