I've noticed a suspicious number of times in Wordgirl where Tobey's misery or defeat comes from Violet beating him. Anyone else noticed?
she beats him in the young inventors contest in "Tobey Goes Good"
she beats him in the class election at the end in "A Vote For Becky"
she beats him in the class costume contest in "Tobey's Tricks and Treats"
she beats him in the fair city scout badge contest in "Patch Game"
his entire misery with checkers comes from her beating him in the game when they were babies in "Monkey Robot Showdown"
IDK if there's more that have slipped my mind, but yeah the writers love having Violet kick Tobey's ass lmao

Xiaolin Showdown and Journey to the West
not sure if this was intentional but I noticed something upon a rewatch. It’s very clear to me that the main four male leads (Jack, Omi, Clay and Raimundo) are expy’s of the characters in Journey to the West (Sun Wukong, Tang Sanzang, Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing).
Jack Spicer as Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, Great Sage Equal To Heaven
-Jack’s preferred Shen Gong Wu is the Monkey Staff, which parallels Sun Wukong’s own Staff. At one point Jack becomes the leader of a group of Green Monkeys, paralleling the Monkey Kings own title for an episode
-Jack’s secondary most used Shen Gong Wu is the Changing Chopsticks to change his shape, which is another feat the Monkey king is known for
-Mirroring the Transformations in the form of the Chameleon Bot and making Duplicates of himself i the form of Robo-Jack.
-“childlike playfulness and often goofy impulsiveness is in contrast to his cunning mind.” Jack is often dismissed by others, including the Heylin, despite being incredibly disruptive to their plans when they cast him aside. Case in Point; if it wasn’t for Jack’s actions at end of Season 1, they wouldn’t have stopped Wuya. He even had a way to go back in time before the Sands of Time were revealed
-First Episode with Chameleon Bot; he uses it to replace Kimiko, knowing the others will dismiss her on the basis of her being a girl and takes nearly all their Shen Gong Wu while he’s at it
-Episode 12, we already see Jack compiling a spreadsheet to track the Shen Gong Wu that have awakened, and if Wuya hadn’t been so hellbent on the Heart of Jong, this could have had benefit to her. Also Wuya wouldn’t have been able to build Mala Mala Jong WITHOUT Jack having all the necessary Shen Gong Wu in the first place.
-Even when he becomes Good Jack, Jack’s solution in the Ying-Yang World is to split himself in two and use a double to distract the chi beast, which again, if he wasn’t good and hadn’t gone in there in the first place, wouldn’t have restored the Dragons’ Chi
-While he is goofy and clearly cares about his Robots, you’d think Wuya and Chase would realize Jack is an actual threat, but that ties back into the Monkey King story. The ‘Gods’ give him the lowliest position in heaven to ‘keep an eye on him’ and he resents this.
-While a less competent fighter in the show, it does take Omi having to create a time paradox to stop Jack from taking over the world.
Omi as Tang Sanzang
-Omi’s Element is Water, and Tang was found in a River
-While more competent in the show, Omi is also an orphan and shown to be the most devoted of the monks/dragons in training. He is also the one that most believes in redemption, especially for Jack Spicer
-He is also supposed to be the one spreading wisdom and helping his disciples, which he does with a majority of them
Clay as Sha Wujing AKA Sandy
-Clay’s element is earth, tying in with Sha Wujing’s element. -Clay is primarily a more peaceful character who is large, logical and polite, so this can make him a bit less interesting than the other three.
Raimundo as Zhu Bajie AKA Pigsy
-Ladies’ Man/Skirt Chaser; Raimundo is shown several times to be susceptible to attractive women.
-Lazy and often doesn’t want to do work; Raimundo’s main complaint has been the amount of work needed at the temple.
-While helpful, can be selfish—as shown near the end of the first season. He is ultimately good, but often gives in to his own personal desires until he grows as a person.
While I think Metal Dragon AU is fitting for Jack, I'm also accepting the headcanon that he might be a descendant of Sun Wukong lol.
Just a fun little thing I noticed

Xiaolin Showdown episode 32 is so funny.
Jack being like "I show up too all the showdowns I know I'm going to lose". Getting terrorised by a annoyed Chase, getting a monkey army and immediately doing the robot.
Jack just going full furry!
Omi just fucking biting Jack on the ass as revenge 😭😭😭💀💀💀 and then Kimiko being like "I think that would have worked even if Jack wasn't a monkey"
Chase just fucking posing on cliffs reluctantly exposition dumping to Wuya
The being like "This will help get the monks to join us, ONE MONK IN PARTICULAR." "The chosen one I plan to let rule by my side for eternity"
Chase my guy you could just say this will help get Omi to join us, who's gonna judge you? Wuya? The big cats? Just say you want your kid bro.
Anyways 10/10 episode great fights, great gags.

The “Emotional” Wordgirl Episodes
Wordgirl has the occasional episode that just feels…different. Perhaps with somber undertones, or a bittersweet feel, or just feeling generally….different. I was always waiting for those episodes, and they remain some of my favorites.
For anyone else who’s like me and wanted o hunt them down, I’ve compiled a list of said episodes. Spoilers will be included. (Suggestions Welome!)
Note: while many of these are my favorites, I am not claiming they are “the best” (although some of them are!)
Where is The Remote? - A personal favorite of mine, this episode always hit different. The plot follows Tobey and Wordgirl, as they scour the city for the remote to Tobey’s robots (unbeknownst to Wordgirl, Tobey has a tracking device for it- he just wants to spend time with her). It’s cute to watch them genuinely have fun, especially since nobody was really in danger.
Yes Monkey - Any long-time follower of mine will know that this may be my favorite episode in the whole show. Leslie, fed up with Mr. Big’s self-centered attitude, finally resigns- and Huggy, who is fed up with being put down, does the same. Seeing Leslie so sad without her boss and Mr. Big so happy to see her at the end is rather sweet, especially with the smile they exchange at the very end.
Rise of Miss Power - Of course this is on here- the movie that focuses on a newcomer encouraging Wordgirl to antagonize her foes, leading to some pretty rough moments (my heart goes out to Tobey). Two-Brains nearly gets publicly executed, Tobey shuts down after being bullied….and nobody talks about how, when Sally says that the city “can’t stand (the villains)”, all of the villians- INCLUDING THOSE SUCH AS GRANNY MAY!- droop a bit and seem saddened by this fact.
Showdown At The Super Secret Spaceship Hideout - THE Dr. Two-Brains angst episode. Boxleitner is mentioned often, both by Two-Brains and Wordgirl! The scene where he recognized the book he wrote….this is a PBS Kids’ show, those eyes should not have been so emotional!
Dr. Three Brains - Most episodes would have been demoted to Honorable Mentions if their bittersweet feel came only from one scene- however, that didn’t feel fair to this episode. The episode stars Dr. Two-Brains and Wordgirl working together to stop Glen Furblam. This has one of my favorite scenes in the whole series at the very end between Wordgirl and Dr. Two-Brains, with them reminiscing on their old partnership (something that scarcely happens outside of Showdown at the Super Secret Spaceship Hideout), and when Wordgirl leaves, we see Dr. Two-Brains look very sad and slink off into the shadows….so melancholy and bittersweet, and it’s a season finale!
A Questionable Pair - Nobody talks about this episode! Brent and Ms. Question are very underrated, yet somehow not nearly as underrated as Reginald and Ms. Question. I love how she likes listening to him talk, and he just likes actually being asked questions 😭…. I don’t know why, but the way this episode ends always made me super sad. In the end, Reginald feels so betrayed by what her (and Invisi-Bill’s) original plan was that he pretty much cuts off their little friendship. Reginald seems so hurt, and Ms. Question looks so so sad….
Even more melancholy is Reginald looking agh the pictures of the two of them, and seems like he’s trying not to cry. Wordgirl what the frick why would you make me feel things
A Few Words from Wordgirl - An episode that I maybe should’ve swapped with a certain episode in honorable mentions? But I think it juuuust earns its place here. I love this episode, and there are so many cute dad!brains moments in it. It’s nice to see them so civil.
Rhyme and Reason - The show finale, and overall a great pair of episodes. There’s not a single moment without some sort of almost-uncomfortable subtext or even details just shown loud and proud. You’re WAITING for Reason to snap whenever he and Rhyme are onscreen, and then the Violet-Wordgirl plot….I hate Violet with a burning passion, and this episode is a big part of why, but it is extremely emotional and earns its place here.
Becky Knows Best - I don’t remember this one well, but it’s the episode starring Ms. Question and Brent. A very different episode as far as its tone and story. I’m a little iffy on whether it should go here or in honorable mentions, as at the moment I don’t remember it very clearly and can only find clips, but it would be in this post either way. The happier ending to “A Questionable Pair”.
Honorable Mentions:
By Jove, You’ve Wrecked My Robot! - The episode that got me into this fandom, and one that remains a favorite. “The same sparkling smile! The same ruby lips! The same…..I realize I’ve said too much.” I didn’t think this episode fit with the others, but was absolutely worth a mention.
A World Without Wordgirl - I don’t remember this episode very much, but it was worth a mention for DtB’s alternate universe self and the general uniqueness of the episode. You really feel bad for Becky.
When Chuck’s Mom is Away - Not an emotional episode, but one very focused on character dynamics and very standout. I figure that anyone who’s looking for the more emotional character-driven episodes would enjoy this one as well!
Tobey Goes Good - A normal episode changed by one scene, but to a lesser degree than Dr. Three Brains. Tobey genuinely seems willing to change long-term, and I’ll admit that seeing him entertain some smaller kids was really cute, but when Violet (unfairly lol let’s be real) wins the contest he’s been competing in, he completely snaps. Oddly enough, he seems genuinely hopeless and even cries. If I’m not mistaken, this is the only episode where he actually tries to kill Wordgirl. Aside from maybe Miss Power, this is absolutely his lowest point.
Oh, What a Tangled Knot You Tie, Amazing Rope Guy! - Not emotional, but this episode does make me a little sad for some reason. I don’t know. It is character focused, though!
It’s Your Party and I’ll Cry If I Want To - This is a sweet episode. Tobey, for once, ends up unable to fulfill his goal, which today is destroying the birthday party of a classmate (as he was not invited). He seems to feel quite bad at the end and even tries to make it up to her, and it’s cute seeing him and Wordgirl bond over the situation.
Invasion of the Bunny Lovers - Here only due to Scoops discovering Wordgirl’s identity. Scoops exemplifies everything Violet *should’ve* done in Rhyme and Reason. Maybe I’ll make a post about that.

It's mother's day soooo can you rank the Xiaolin Showdown moms?
There are only a handful of moms in the series, if memory serves.
1. Momma Bailey
We don't know much about Clay's mother, but he fondly says that her presents are the best and she always knows what to get him since she knows him so well.
Jesse says she favored Clay, and Clay denies that, but we don't have enough info to say one way or another. But we at least know that she and Clay have a positive relationship, and she's the only family member he's been shown to have these sort of uncomplicated, positive feelings about.
2. Grandma Spicer
I can't even remember where to get a screencap for her if there are any, but she apparently gave Jack his helipack when he turned evil, which means she was probably the most supportive member of his family in that regard.
3. Mrs. Spicer
Jack apparently spends a lot of time with her, since he has breakdowns when he goes mere days without seeing her, and he's clingy enough to be considered a mommy's boy and hug her legs like that. She also apparently sticks around enough that she was baking cookies for him, albeit she didn't realize she was making the cookies for robot Jack instead of her son.
Jack tearfully fantasizes about earning her praise and acknowledgement in Year of the Green Monkeys, and it's pitiful to have to dream about that sort of acknowledgement from someone who's supposed to be your parent. He seems almost as desperate to prove himself to her as Omi is with Fung, but while it's arguable whether Fung views Omi as a son or not, this is supposed to be Jack's actual mother. There are also the parties she and her husband throw where the adults apparently bad-talk Jack.
She's difficult to parse, so she just ends up smack in the middle of the list.
4. Omi's Mom from Omi Town
Unambiguously abusive, both mentally and physically. Made food she knew Omi didn't eat, then got angry at Omi for going without dinner. Tried to beat him with a pole while scolding him for a bunch of things, many of which he had no control over. Dug through his pockets and stole his belongings. Guilt-tripped him into leaving the temple to take care of his parents, and then, when she refused to take Omi's hand as she fell, her final words as she made sure he watched her "die" were "Where did I go wrong"?
Just a whole nother layer of trauma for Omi on top of everything else, but what hurts even more is that, after how awful she was and how she went out of her way to make Omi feel like nothing, he still spent hours crying over her dead body and grieving the loss of the closest thing he'll ever experience to having any sort of mother. Truly tragic.
I'd want to have her at the bottom of the list honestly. But that honor goes to:
5. Granny Bailey
The only thing we know about her is that she's Clay's greatest fear, and considering he lives in the heart of Texas and works on a ranch, that's genuinely impressive and dark.
It's played for laughs, but you really can't overstate how messed up it is for a child to be this deeply afraid of any of their family members.

Starting Guide:
Carrd / Interest Tracker / OC Master List
PSA TO NON ROLEPLAY BLOGS
Please do not reblog my posts. This is a roleplay blog and having my rp’s or headcanon posts spread around is really frustrating. It super messes up my activity and it’s really disheartening to see a notification and realize it’s not an ask or an rp reply. Those posts are not for you, and it’s stated in my rules that I block non-rp blogs on sight.
To-Do List:
Drafts ( 5 ) / Inbox ( 7 ) / Queue ( Frozen )
Other Blogs:
Mike Total Drama (WIP) / Dudepow Multimuse (WIP) / Ben 10 Multimuse (WIP)
Rules + Muse List below The Cut!
1.) Fandoms
My blog is, as a rule, not affiliated with any of the fandoms that my muses come from, and are largely products of my own headcanons, I'll list on the muse page which muses are fully canon divergent and which ones follow canon, as it can vary depending on how I feel about the media they come from.
2.) Basic RP Etiquette
Don't control or override the actions of my characters, don't kill them without asking, no forcibly shipping with my character without talking to me first, really basic stuff for everyone's comfort, really.
3.) NSFW
I generally don't like NSFW unless we're very close rp partners, and if we do engage in that kind of shipping it will lead directly to fade to black, I don't have a sinblog, and don't have an interest in one, so any smut will have to be implied at best. Otherwise, darker subject matter like gore and other darker themes involving mental health will be explored and tagged appropriately.
4.) Dropping Threads
I'm guilty of dropping threads when I lose my muse for them and get overwhelmed. I'm working on reaching out more and sending memes to my mutuals, but I'm a very shy person. The best way to start things with me is to approach me in DM's or send me a meme.

Xiaolin Showdown Good Jack AU
Instead of being bent on world domination, Jack instead is happy, lonely, but happy. He's good, but he tends to keep to himself... Being so cheerful and affectionate others have left him alone, so he works on building his own friends. Instead of getting sent the puzzle box, he's sent the monkey staff, a cheer up gift as he likes monkeys.
The puzzle box is instead stolen and ends up in the paws of Katnappe, who can't open it, and instead gives it to her kittens as a toy. In their fit of play they open it, releasing Wuya.
The race to collect the Wu starts. With Wuya convincing Katnappe to help her, despite the other's lack of interest.
In time, they end up at Jack's house, after the monkey staff. Monks verses Katnappe. This is where Jack assists the monks with fight, using his robots, as they are also security for his house.
Afterwards, Jack gets the idea that, hey, he can help! If these guys are collecting these Wu things, they might need someone or something to guard them, and that's what he's been working on along side his robotic friends!
Besides, he isn't giving up the monkey staff. Its a gift from his dad.
He ends up moving in with the monks and helping out at the temple more than looking for Wu, and he finally gets some friends!
He knows how to do showdowns, he does attempt to do training, even if he's not exactly that great at it, and he does enjoy staying there. He does send his mom letters constantly though, and emails too.
Never without a robot by his side and that robot carries the monkey staff. Otherwise he'd go full monkey. He already learned that the hard way.
Will fight for his friends if he has to, will be bait if he has to first.
As much as he's annoying to the others at times, they appreciate having the extra guards given that Katnappe tries to steal the Wu every week or so at least. Her and Wuya are always scheming, and if not Wuya and Katnappe, then Wuya is teamed up with someone else and the monks have to always be on guard, at least they can get some rest with the robots on patrol.
Also he has a workshop area on the temple grounds to keep things at a minimum in case something happens to explode or catch fire. Or if he works late so he doesn't keep everyone else up (hopefully). Its not very big, but he makes do.
