Trick or Treat with Casimir? 🎃👻

You have been... Treated!

Trick or treat here! Please come again, there's plenty of treats to go around!

Casimir has no clue what Halloween is, poor thing. There's a good chance he might be familiar with a similar concept of some variety, but Halloween as we know it? Not a clue.

So, of course, when you explain it to him, he's very curious and excited to learn more! He wants to know everything. I hope you like Halloween, because now he's looking at you like you're an expert with that adorable glimmer in his eyes he gets when he's excited, so buckle up!

You're gonna end up giving him the Full Halloween Treatment. It begins, of course, after your lecture on what exactly Halloween is, with decorating! It's time to leave a very impatient Casimir for an hour or so while you run to the nearest dollar/discount store and raid their Halloween section for all sorts of goodies. And oh, if you thought he was excited before? The way his eyes light up when you come in with your arms overflowing with bags is nothing short of delightful.

You've brought him everything you could find and think of. You have colorful lights in the shapes of pumpkins and cats and bats (plus a string of regular orange lights for him to potentially destroy while trying to figure out how they work), you've got all sorts of decorations, you've got pumpkins! And beyond all of that, you've also grabbed some other supplies, 'cause it's time to get crafty!

With your guidance and assistance, you carve a pumpkin or three together, because what's a classic Halloween without a jack-o'-lantern? This is actually one of the older traditions, so Casimir might be somewhat familiar with carving large vegetables and putting a candle inside of them, but even so, he definitely hasn't had a chance to do it in ages. He loves working with his hands, so he definitely enjoys the chance to make something with you, and after a bit of a learning curve, his pumpkin-carving skills are simply incredible. He's got a knack for intricate details and remarkably steady hands with all the time he spends working on clocks. The little flickering LED candle light you pop in the pumpkin fascinates him, too.

Speaking of making things, back to crafts! You've gotten all of those DIY fall craft kits you could get your hands on, because he obviously never experienced them as a kid. You guide him through painting and glueing and decorating all sorts of things, from little scarecrows to mini foam pumpkins and paper bats and all sorts of things! He's never been happier. I think Casimir would absolutely adore making things with those he loves, especially his very favorite person~

After all of the crafting festivities are done, it's time for other traditions. You tell him about Trick-or-treating, and while you can't exactly take him out to experience it, you help him put together a costume (or perhaps the House provides them for you both, if you ask nicely?) I think he would love dressing up - it's unusual, and he might feel a touch awkward at first, but he'll get over it soon enough and enjoy himself. I'm not sure what he'd be - a werewolf is a bit too mean, but Vampire Casimir? Sign me up! You definitely eat candy together too, even if he doesn't quite get the trick-or-treating fun.

If you ask very very nicely and do some extra chores, the House might just be willing to put on a haunted house for you! It configures itself into a little maze with dim lighting and a spooky atmosphere, has random 'monsters' pop out at you randomly, accompanied by the growls and screams you might expect! Casimir doesn't let go of your hand the entire time, partially because he's more scared than he wants to let on, partially because he wants to protect you - and partially to ground himself so he doesn't lose control of his emotions and shift accidentally.

I don't think he would like scary movies, though. He's fascinated by the way they work, sure, but... I feel like he would prefer more lighthearted films. Maybe a little spooky, but nothing too scary - in addition to not liking the gore and murder of it all because it reminds him of being a 'monster' himself, he's always paranoid that he'll get too spooked by a jump scare and lose control.

All in all though Casimir quickly becomes obsessed with Halloween, and you've never seen him so delighted!

Renovating is pretty exhausting so of course a lot of work means a lot of rest. There's many ways to do so such as sitting down with some tea and snacks, reading together or to each other, cuddling or watching movies; either way you spend this time together quite often 

speaking of movies, movie and show nights! At first at least there might be more of Casimir nerding over the technology than watching though /hj. Someone just please show this man the Beauty and the Beast. Or Transformers. First one is self explanatory, second one I just think would be funny. Also maybe Howls moving castle. That might be super far fetched but I think he'd like studio Ghibli. 

Bonding with Mimi! Casimir really wants to gain back her trust and having you be there calms him Mimi. Though it's better than it used to be already there's still some tension between them and you're definitely helping. You also get to spend time with both of them so that's definitely a win!

You cannot convince me this man doesn't go into hour long rants and rambles about his interests after you asked one simple question. He can get pretty lost in it once he started and tends to get a little embarrassed about it once he realises. Cmon, he was all by himself for multiple centuries, he's not used to people being around. You encouraging him to go on, asking questions or referencing things he told you later on means a lot to him. 

Of course it goes both ways, he absolutely loves listening to you talk, especially about things you're passionate about and will try to bring it up again later or engage in your hobbies with you together. He genuinely wants to know about you and your interests, for one he hasn't really heard from/about anyone else for a very long time (not counting cats and buildings) and also you're, of course he wants to hear everything you have to say

Okay okay okay this one's my personal favourite: hide and seek.​ I actually might write a whole own thing about that at some point soon because it'd just be so much fun!​ The house is quite big with super many hiding spaces. Now it's not something he'd suggest and yeah it might take some force persuasion to convince him but if you ask him really really nicely hell probably say yes, or just annoy him till he agrees (even more effective if Rainier joins). Alternatively just hide somewhere so he has no choice but to search (you definitely gave him a heart attack the first time you did that)

Casimir is old fashioned (I mean- how wouldn't he be) so your regular date nights are pretty classic. Usually it's a romantic dinner (brought to you by The House TM), sometimes it's dancing (like that one paid scene(? Is there one? Or am I mixing something up? Idk); he was taught to be a gentleman and he's gonna use that /hj

Bringing him modern things from shopping trips. It started off by you bringing him something he was curious about after you mentioned it and quickly developed into a habit of you bringing him trinkets whenever you're out. His curiosity makes you much more aware of how interesting even little thins can be and soon turned to you coming back from trips out the house with a bag of things like toys, gadgets and other fun things from the dollar store or similar. You then spend the day looking at what you brought, how it works and so on. Imagine spending the day with Casimir trying out a bunch of toys you bought or found with your old stuff (the type for children, don't think wrong here)

adding onto this because I love the idea of doing fun childish things with him (you'd have to be the one to initiate them though, potentially ‘force’ him, but he secretly enjoys it). Silly sleepovers with pillow forts, movies, teeny magazines (I want to just hand this guy a stack of these teen magazines and see what happens so bad), and snacks! 

related a bit to the one above but spa days! He definitely needs some more self care. I do kinda think he likes stuff as skincare and and used to have a routine (nobility and stuff) he likely had to cut short or even drop it completely with the house's hostility. But now you're there and not only are there so many products your world has for this, it's also much more fun together, leading to entire days planned only for spa and wellness activities (like doing each other's nails, I have a little theory connected to Casimir and acrylic nails but that's all I'm saying on that)

I feel like I have to say something to end this smoothly sooo Casimir supremacy!!

While I do constantly mourn Last Legacy I wanna take a second to be super sad about Monster Manor. While I'm not much of a fan of the 'shove all the LIs into one route' type of story that all the stories did towards the end, I still really liked it.

Anyways here's some Casimir hcs!!

I mentioned here that Casimir is afraid of heights. I don't remember it being said in the story at all (but it's also been a little while since I've read it) but I Do Not Care!!

He's definitely a morning person. Because of his rocky relationship with The House, it doesn't always provide him with a ton of windows and natural light, so he tries to get in as much as he can. Once you start smoothing things out between them, House does provide more giant windows for Casimir to get light and air through.

Cas,, sleeping,,, in sun beam?? Both in monster form and human form. He also has a pillow or blanket or something to lay down, though.

He'll teach you and Rainer French! Bonus points if you actually already know French, and you can tell him how much the language has evolved. It's pretty melancholic for him.

Rainer (inadvertently) lightens the mood by asking Cas to make toast so they can have French Toast.

That being said, Cas cooks for you all the time even before you start dating!! He's been alone for so long (Mimi nonwithstanding) that he's nearly forgotten how much fun it can be to cook for someone else.

He also tries to learn what dragons eat to make special stuff for Rainer, with mixed results.

After you start dating then he's constantly also baking you desserts and stuff. Loves making things heart-shaped. Always suave about it but when you earnestly thank him he gets a little flustered.

Listen... Listen... Cas has been alone for so long that sometimes he forgets there are other people in the house now... He'll be doing something in the kitchen and you'll come in and ask him something and he jumps a foot in the air. Happens less frequently as time goes on but still.

See,, he's,,, he's still got a 16th century (or whenever he's from) tolerance meter for PDA so like you hold his hand or kiss his cheek or ruffle his hair or something and he fucking dies. Face turns as red as a tomato. He tries to get used to it - especially when you explain how standards have changed and this sort of thing is completely normal - but it's a slow process.

His hair isn't long enough to braid but you can put it in a little bun/ponytail.

His monster fur is long enough to braid though!! You can totally do that. He likes it.

In his monster form, he rubs up against you a lot to get his scent on you. Be prepared for shedding. He always gets you a lint roller once he's human again. Will accept your teasing but might pout a little.

He actually can flirt but if Rainer walks into the room, Cas just completely goes silent and buries his face in the nearest soft surface because Rainer is very innocently and loudly asking 'WhAt'S a MiGnOnNe/MiGnOn??' (feminine/masculine word for 'cute' in French, according to Google)

All you Arcana fans, I mean this in the best possible way, but shut the fuck up.

You guys have nothing to worry about— and I say this as an Arcana fan myself. Yeah, maybe it sucks that any new “content” is gonna be on Dorian. It does, I get it— and I’m on your side, I think Arcana content should be on the original app that was made for it.

But that doesn’t fucking matter. You know why? Because at the end of the day, the storyline is over.

Each of the love interests have either learned their lessons in their respective upright routes, or they’ve gotten worse and doubled down in their reversed routes with the apprentice. They’ve each told us they love us. We’ve been with them every step of the way.

They’ve had their stories, their happy endings, and their sad ones.

You know who hasn’t had those endings?

Sage Lesath. Anisa Anka. Felix Iskander Escellun. Casimir de Gévaudan. Rainier. Fin Derodine. The MCs of those stories.

There are Fictif storylines that are still unfinished, and none of those endings are going to be on Fictif. None of those endings are going to be with those beginnings. We don’t even know if they’re GETTING endings at all.

The Arcana has had its time and its storylines, and while it’s sad, I think it’s time we laid the canon content to rest. That doesn’t mean the fandom has to die, it doesn’t mean we have to stop talking about it or making content. But the story is over.

First two redesign sketches :D I like these two designs a lot, so I mostly went about giving them less skinny body types and slightly different outfit inspirations.

Casimir's waistcoat is more 18th century without a collar and added embroidery (butterfly weed embroidery for symbolism), and I gave him a beard because he's been alone, depressed for a while (and I like beards). Then Maeve's colours are tweaked a bit and given more of a heart-shaped/point theme with her hair, collar, and waist because her dress was a little plain.

I think Monster Manor is my favorite story on Fictif but it sucks so bad it's not finished. It had sooo much potential had it not been rushed then straight up abandoned. It's like Beauty and the Beast minus the Stockholm syndrome and you can decorate a silly house.

:( PLUS the fact there was gonna be another character but we have no clue on what they are or what impact they could've had to the story.

HE deserves BETTER. ISTG if I had enough motivation and visual novel making skills I'd make the rest of it myself.

Casimir's Beast HCs

I said it would be a while before I posted something, right before I just sat down and wrote an entire scenario/imagine/headcanon thing. Strike while the iron's hot, I guess!

I haven't edited this much, I just wanted to post this while I still had the attention-span. Shoutout to anyone still into Monster Manor, I sure am. ✌🏽If you have any ideas or requests, my inbox is open as always!

-It’s hard to see on certain occasions, as Casimir tends to crouch and bend lower to the ground during his transformation, but he has a heart-shaped pattern on his abdomen, towards the side of his ribcage. It’s a pattern that shows on his fur more prominently, and shows up as a small birthmark in his human-form. 

-He’s embarrassed to admit or acknowledge its existence. 

-Casimir tends to walk on all fours, but standing up, reaches ~7 feet tall, and his steps are very long; He can close distances very quickly that way, which makes for a more terrifying thought. 

-According to Casimir, the deity that cursed him planned for him to act as “prey”. However, in the main story, and according to the tales of the Beast of Gevaudan, it seems more of a “predator” type of attack. So…I headcanon that Casimir was meant to be a prey animal, but his anger, grief, and frustration twisted the curse’s effects until he was lashing out at himself and others for years. 

-When confronted with your nature, a little bit of that aggression dissipates more and more, thanks to your self-preservation and the House’s refusal to let Casimir hurt you. Not that he would want to, anyway. 

-For the first few times after that first transformation, Casimir hides away until the curse passes. It’s hard to find him, as he moves to the more unkempt parts of the House to withdraw from you, not wanting to be seen, or risking hurting you. 

-However, as time goes on, you’ll find glimpses of the beast lurking around corners and walls. Not threateningly, but….Almost hesitant. Scared. He recoils from your attempts to reach out to him, and sticks to sniffing your hand and growling, before slouching away to sulk. 

-It takes a while for him to finally approach you…Looming over you in wait. Waiting for what? He doesn’t know, and neither do you. So, with caution but kindness, you talk to him, keeping your physical touch away. You assure him you’re not going to hurt him, you’re here to help, just like you always have. 

-It takes even longer for him to sit next to you, to sniff your hair and hand, keeping the sharp horns away, his teeth hidden and claws curled. The untransformed Casimir knows you, and knows your intentions. This beast does not, and so it’s building another relationship from the ground. Just….With a little more danger. Neither of you want to be hurt. 

-When you tell Casimir your progress, he’s…Baffled? Flabbergasted? Shocked, horrified- You get the idea. 

-”You’ve been doing what??” 

-He is not aware of any of this, and can only imagine glimpses of you if he really tries. When he transforms, it is out of his control, and his mind. 

-When the initial emotions simmer down, he’s not sure what to feel, or what to think. For 200 years, more than that, he’s been a threat and a danger to everything and everyone around him. And now, what you’re telling him is….He’s changing. For the better? It sounds impossible. 

-But, somehow, you’re a master of the impossible. And so it shouldn’t be that much of a surprise. 

-He makes another vow, and takes the effort, too, to make the House a better place. It’s the least he can do, but he wants to do something. 

-He still has many thoughts and feelings about his curse, too complex to get into. It sends him into bouts of silence sometimes, as he ponders over a project or task. He does what he can to make you feel safe and comfortable, and reminds you to please…Be careful. 

-And you do. The beast seems to understand that as well, still shy of your touch and apprehensive at best. But you can’t help but smile a little at the progress, seeing Casimir sleeping in a block of sunlight through a window. 

-There are things you might not ever understand, or see for yourself. But you can at least attest to one thing: 

-One step at a time, things are getting better for them both.

Is anyone still interested in Monster Manor? I still love it a lot, and I just had the idea to make my first Love Interest OC!

It's very much in the works, but I'll show my progress so far!

The idea is a ghost LI that would occupy the uppermost floors/attic of the House, and would come around after Rainier is a resident. Once Rainier realizes there are four table settings, and that leaves the room for another. (I know there was hints at a third LI but I'm driving the creative boat at the moment since Dorian has walked the plank.)

I'd like to bring in my Victorian/Edwardian interests, and have this LI be haunting the floors since the 1800s. So a little after Casimir, maybe she climbed in through the window or snuck her way in, idk-

I suppose she would need to be a monster, though- I'll also figure that out too! But for now, I'm not sure which design I like best.

omg i just had a thought that made me hate the magister EVEN MORE I DIDNT EVEN THINK THAT WAS POSSIBLE

so, basically if the magister is a death mage then they probably went through a LOT of excuses with rainier as to why it’s essentially AY okay TO KILL PEOPLE. (Rainier already mentions this in one of the chapters where he says the magister only kills “bad” people) so can you imagine if the magister used to the concept of religion as an excuse too??!???? like “oh it’s fine, they’re going to be in heaven anyway, i’m doing them a big favor 😉” and Rainier just accepting it cause that’s all he knows?????!!! or even worse, Rainier explaining this MC and Casimir only for them to explain that none of religion is a guarantee, so no one really knows what happened to them and Rainier having to come to terms with that?!!!!
