Monteverdi High Speed 375 S, 1967, by Frua. Only 10 of these short wheelbase Hight Speed models were made by Frua. Peter Monteverdi wanted to increase production by Carrozzeria Frua's hand built methods made this impossible. Pietro Frua's suggestion was to delegate production to Carrozzeria Maggiora who had more capacity. However Peter Monteverdi moved production to Carrozzeria Fissore instead. Legal proceedings ensued and the 10 further cars that had been built at Maggiora to Frua's design became unsalable forcing a resign for the Fissore cars

Here's the unedited recording of the violin and recorder parts from Monteverdi's Il Ritorno d'Ulisse in Patria that I'm currently working on
I just really, really like this piece.
I especially love how jolly and lively it sounds on its own without the brass
Here's the sheet music if anyone's interested:
And here's an actual recording (starting at 1:55:08):
Monteverdi High Speed 375 L, 1968, by Frua. A one-off commissioned by German photographer, author and industrialist Gunter Sachs (also third husband of Brigitte Bardot). The main difference between this and the 10 other Carrozzeria Frua 375 models was the shape of the rear window, rear side windows and the 3 vents on the rear roof buttresses. It was shown alongside a Frua 375 S at the Geneva Motor Show. The 375 refers to the power output of the Chrysler-sourced 7.2 litre V8 engine.
OK, my favorite Orfeo recording! I recently watched two official uploads on Youtube which are both excellent:

I have heard all of those people live. The conductor is Joana Mallwitz. The staging is kind of weird but I like it. Vi ricorda... starts at 16:50 and is really good. It has English subtitles.

This one has Lea Desandre in it! Also it is somehow filmed to look like a Caravaggio painting which is pretty cool. Vi ricorda... starts at 26:44. French subtitles only!

Christian Gerhaher is not a tenor but he is beautiful
Haven't you always wondered which of the many, many, many operas about Orpheus and Eurydice best suits your vibe? Yes you have. I picked six of my favourites and put them in a quiz. Enjoy!
In the second half of the 1970s, the term ‘SUV’ was still far from being coined, but 4×4 vehicles were starting to shake off the idea of being purely utilitarian, embracing the concept of a vehicle suitable for all uses and capable of offering comfort similar to that of sedans. In this context, a very distinctive model emerged, the Monteverdi Safari.

Peter Monteverdi had been Ferrari's Swiss importer, but a falling out between the two mercurial personalities watered a longstanding seed in Monteverdi's mind, to build his own sports coupé. Like many European manufacturers of the period, Monteverdi chose to build a hybrid. At the time, the word referred not to a petrol-electric automobile, but to a car that combined Italian design brio with a reliable American V-8 powertrain. Monteverdi's automobiles were designed by Frua, bodied by the coachbuilder Fissore, and powered by the same Chrysler 440 V-8 and TorqueFlite automatic gearbox used in “muscle cars” of the same era.
