thats what he claims anyways

lucifer brushes nearly everything off as just plain allergies, he could literally have a 103 fever and be shaking on the floor and would still be pouting and saying he's fine

the thing about him tho is that he's easy to take care of- after a little coaxing lucifer just sighs and nods glumly before pretty much submitting himself to your care

once he's admitted hes sick tho, he wants you around him 24/7

lucifer wants cuddles, hugs, kisses, he just gets so clingy when he's feeling under the weather

THIS MAN LITERALLY BURNS UP WHEN HE'S SICK ITS ALWAYS THE LITTLE ONES WITH THE HIGHEST RAGING FEVERS THAT LAST FOR DAYS like he'll be sweating and shivering and crying he gets hit HARD when he's sick and it happens so suddenly too- like one day he's fine and then the next he looks like he's one small wind away from collapsing

he lowkey feels bad about asking for things when he's sick so he'll say something offhand like "yk im in the mood for soup" and hopes you get the message

ABSOLUTELY THE TYPE TO GET FEVER DREAMS AND START RAMBLING WHEN HES SICK

like he'll wake up from a nap and still be half asleep and he just starts genuinely rambling about literally the most obscure things

lucifer definitely gets nightmares even when he isn't sick, but when hes feeling like shit and is so delirious he can't tell reality from fiction? be prepared for him to wake up crying and shaking, he just gets so so scared :(

lucifer feels bad about you taking care of him and wants to help, but will lowkey end up pushing himself too hard. PLEASE reassure him and tell him it's alright he'll literally melt

once its all over, lucifer will genuinely trust you more after you saw him in such a vulnerable state and is much more likely to come to you instead of hiding how he's feeling in the future

Alastor:

alastor? weak? lmao no

he would literally rather die than admit he's sick like he would literally just keep pushing on

alastor is one of those people that has an iron immune system like he VERY rarely gets sick but when he does its like torture

to even be alastor's partner you'd have to know him for a long time and you'd probably be able to read him pretty well (at least compared to other people), yet even you sometimes miss his sickness in the earlier stages

alastors biggest tell tale sign of being sick? exhaustion. he very rarely sleeps on the regular, but when he's sick that all catches up to him

he also gets more irritable and a little less composed, he'd be more prone to getting angry and would lash out if anyone asked if he was ok

alastors ears would also be turned back slightly, like most animals do when they're being aggressive, but its pretty much only obvious to people who know him closely

alastor never wants to be vulnerable or weak but you notice that his eyelids keep drifting of their own accord, and how irritable he's been, and it clicks to you that he's obviously not feeling well

approach him about it in private, while alastor does trust you he still doesn't want others to knowm

no matter how much you try he will not lay down, take medicine, or do anything (at least at first)

alastor genuinely thinks that he can just push through on his own and lowkey thinks you're worrying too much

however after two weeks of pure suffering and exhaustion, combined with no sleep and your irritation at his lack of will to take care of himself, alastor finally breaks

he'd prob come to your room at like 4 in the morning and just curl up on the edge of the bed, shivering a little but staying quiet

you wake up to him fast asleep, his ears twitching every once and a while as he rests peacefully near you

get a cool towel and lay it on his forehead to break the fever, and he'll just keep sleeping

he probably wouldn't wake up for at least a few hours, months of lost sleep are catching up to him at this point, giving you the opportunity to make him some soup and medicine

alastor will stir a little when you get out of bed but wont wake up, but once he does wake up he wants you to come back

when he's sick he wants you to be nearby, alastor isn't the touchiest person and being sick makes him feel gross, so he wouldn't want to be touched but would want you arround just to know you're there

this is probably the first step in him being more open to vulnerability around you, and while it may have been a bit of an irritating process to get him back to his usual healthy status, it's definitely worth it as he begins to trust you more

Vox:

lowkey a man child (affectionate)

vox is one of those guys who will take care of himself when he's sick, but he'll complain about it every step of the way

i think he's pretty responsible when he's sick, he'll take the day off and relax but won't do much other than that

he likes when you pamper him though, and a part of him lowkey enjoys being sick because he just gets to have your full attention all of the time (as if he doesn't already💀)

vox would be irritated about showing weakness and not being in control, but he wouldn't be irritated at you

if an employee was being too nosy about his wellbeing? yea he's pissed but if you're the one taking care of him, he'll just sigh and let you do what you want

VOX IS ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE WHOS LITERALLY ALWAYS COLD AND ITS AMPLIFIED WHEN HES SICK

he becomes like a literal ice cube he's SHIVERING and everything

vox has the cutest sneezes too, he glitches out and denies how cute his sneezes are but they really are adorable

vox takes like 2 baths per day when he's sick he hates feeling unclean, and def wants you to join him in the bath (just to relax, get your mind out of the gutter)

vox would be a little pissed about missing work, i think he's a bit of a workaholic and might try to work in bed or sneak some paperwork behind your back

it doesn't work though because he just ends up passing out anyway

vox is big on sleeping when he's sick he's definitely the type to just sleep it off and thats that

like he CRASHES in bed and just does not get up for hours

he sleeps like the dead too, his screen is blank and he barely moves in his sleep

like lucifer, he has fever dreams but they lean more on the weird side rather than the sad side

its funny but instead of talking more when sick, vox actually talks much less. he starts getting super quiet and a lot more needy for your attention

vox is more than happy to return to work and be back on his feet, but will send you a little thank you gift and pamper you in return for taking care of him

Adam:

manchild x2 (also affectionate)

adam DREADS getting sick like he genuinely hates it so much, he sees it as one of his own flaws and it makes him lowkey disgusted at himself

he whines like a baby over a common cold, its almost sad how the slightest sickness will make him act like he's on his death bed

adam whines and complains whenever you aren't around him, he wants cuddles and kisses and is 10x more clingy when he's sick

he has little to no appetite when he's actually sick but gets a huge appetite right after

like you'll have to force him to eat at least a piece of toast per day while he's actually feverish but once he's in recovery he's literally FAMISHED and will ask for so much food

he barely eats or drinks while hes sick it just feels icky to him

i also think he's the type to not want to move like he just collapses on his bed and barely moves an inch (unless you force him)

adam exaggerates when he's barely sick and then underplays it when he's genuinely really sick its lowkey so confusing

like he could have pneuomonia and be half dead and say he's fine but he could have the most common cold and complain foreverrr

he doesn't think you're genuine when you say you want to help him and take care of him, he thinks its just a joke since nobody has ever really taken care of him before

like sure he's been told what to do and bossed around and treated him like a foolish child, but no one has ever sat with him while he's sick and held his hand yk?

while he can be irritable and annoying while he's sick, he apologizes afterwards

its one of the few times he ever apologizes but he genuinely feels bad about lashing out

adam isn't used to being below someone when it comes to status or health and relaxing and letting someone else take care of him is kind of foreign for him, but you both work it out over time

while he isn't the easiest to take care of, he genuinely appreciates that you want to help him and wants to return the favor someday

every morning she tries to leave the house as early as possible to avoid you. somedays, she leaves before the sun even rises. she most certainly makes a lot of effort in trying to get away from you. call her selfish, she doesn't really care. she doesn't want to bother making one extra serving of coffee or breakfast. you can always make it yourself.

arlecchino would take her wedding ring off and pockets it when she's at work as the 4th fatui harbinger. she doesn't want people to think she's gone weak. not letting people know she's taken by you. she only wears the wedding ring when she's around you so you don't question her.

she fucking hates physical touch and stupid cheesy 'lover' things. she feel sick just at the thought of someone else's arms all over her. she hates it when she has to call you "baby" or "my dear". especially in public, she just sort of half mumbles the pet names quietly. she wouldn't want people to hear her say such sappy shit. it isn't like you don't already have a name anyways.

i cant see her ever responding to your text messages properly, like she has so much better things to do. she leaves you on sent or read most the times. occasionally hitting you with the "👍" if shes being nice. probably ghosts u alot lol. you have tried to confront her about it. she just tells you she doesn't have time.

same goes for when you call her. whether if it is a emergency or not, you'd get sent straight to voicemail. she doesn't check those either.

she dislikes it alot when you try to post photos of you two on social media. she just doesn't want to be seen with you. not only that, the captions you put in are way too 'cutesy' for her style. she has a reputation to hold after all.

arlecchino probably doesn't have high libido at all. she's rarely ever in the mood. whenever you do ask her, she just tells you she's busy with something else. you feel embarrassed for even building up the courage at all. that was the last time you openly talked about having sex together.

whenever you two somehow end up fucking, arlecchino always has her mind elsewhere. more worried about how much banging noises the headboard is making or how much of a bother it is to change the bed sheets after. there is no aftercare too. the most you'd probably get is a "you did well." afterwards, you'd succumb to exhaustion and fall asleep. only to find yourself alone that next morning.

- hangs on to your every word if youre talking about something important like .. his eyes will go kinda big because he’s so focused on you he kinda forgets to blink LOL

- grabs onto your hands when hes nervous, like just clutches onto them and squeezes. likes when you rub the back of his hand with ur thumb for extra reassurance

- sean sees the world so artistically and beautifully so a feature of yours you’ve never noticed before is accentuated in his art. a beauty spot you didnt notice, a dimple you never knew about. he loves every little detail about you

- faye webster enjoyer! indie pop lover in general tbh. loves listening to music with you (earbud user because he hates how headphones feel on his head) and will always think of you when he listens to certain songs

- i think if you told him you like his hair long he’d let it GROWWW. like so long he can tie it into a bun, but it would annoy him after a while and he’d cut it to like ep1 length. will let you and daniel put his hair in pigtails with bows (he’ll joke about being coquette)

- loves going on drives with you. sometimes daniel tags along but he prefers when its just the two of you. definitely likes listening to frank ocean whilst the sun sets (it reminds him of gta😭)

- has a bad habit of putting on this cynical teen front (like his journal entry about trump winning LOL) and you give him an outlet to be sincere and sensitive which leads to him opening up about his mom

- sean feels a weird sense of guilt when he criticises karen in front of daniel because he knows he’s too young to really remember and feel upset about it. but he feels even worse doing it in front of his dad because he feels like his emotions take up too much space. like it overshadows the betrayal his dad must feel.

- so instead he adopts a mostly indifferent, partially angry attitude towards his mom leaving to disguise the genuine sadness and resentment. the inability to understand how she could just up and leave. when you give sean the space to actually .. feel everything, he breaks down. it deepens the bond he has with you, he feels theres no judgement to be cruel, selfish, or upset around you.

- seans newfound sensitivity from dating you also lets him be unashamedly happy about the holiday season. he is done pretending to be over christmas, bring out the ugly jumpers and candy canes!!

- esteban is in SHOCK. sean is up early during his winter break to *checks notes* decorate?? convinced it must be crack.

- not sure what the american equivalent of winter wonderland is, but he saves up money from his part time job to take you, his dad and daniel to a winter festival! he kinda breaks the bank but has no regrets!! gets you hot chocolates and treats, also spends an embarrassing amount on game tickets trying to win you a prize😭 you tell him its ok but he will keep trying until he gets you SOMETHING!

- at some point he’ll sneak off with you to give you the sweetest kiss ever. will hold your chin in his hand and tilt your head up to kiss you. he’s not huge on pda (especially with his dad in the vicinity) BUT he’s in such a good mood he cant pass up the chance. starts smiling through the kiss because he’s so happy

- that definitely inspires art of you looking flushed with slightly swollen lips but a look of warmth in your eyes. probably gives it to you as a christmas gift! tells you its one of the many many moments he felt himself falling even more in love with you

- he hates the cold but loves the excuse to cling to you constantly. “sean.. i need to pee.” “pretty sure if i let go of you i’ll instantly get frostbite soo..”

- nervous and geeky when you guys first start dating, but gets SUPERRR suave as time goes on it kinda makes you weak in the knees. will cup your cheek mid conversation and stroke your cheek with his thumb. will backhug you and kiss your neck. will kiss the back of your hand if hes feeling VERY romantic… whore activity tbh!

- hickey enthusiast omg its BAD hes an addict. but god forbid you give him one because he will freak about lyla seeing and giving him grief over it. has a thing for marking you and knowing you like how it feels

- loves when you wrap your arms around his neck!! gives him this super strong sense of security, he’ll always wraps his arms around your waist.

- HATES when people talk at the movies. you, sean and daniel all went to see fnaf and daniel would not stop turning to both of you to explain the lore incase you were confused😭 not even whispering mind you! infuriates sean but its him telling you and daniel to stop talking that gets the reaction of an angry parent asking him to “be quiet or leave!” his eye twitches when you and daniel start laughing at him LOLL

- ushanka hat bandit. will wear them even during SUMMER! always paired with a tank top and jeans or a striped hoodie. i think sean has slutty hips so u love the tank top x low rise jeans combo he wears in summer LMAOO :P

- likes to cuddle with your back facing him so he can kiss your shoulder.

- likes to post discreet pictures of you on his main ig but his spam account is like 90% you LMAO. posts photodumps filled with dumb text messages between you both and candid pictures of you

- gets overprotective of you in a similar way to how he is with daniel, sometimes you have to remind him you’re there to protect him too

- will lay his head on your shoulder when hes in need of comfort. also a subtle way of asking you to play with his hair (he will melt)

- likes if you put your hands in his jacket pocket when it’s cold so he can hold it in there!!

- goes through phases where he ALWAYS wants to be on the phone with you. like you could be on the way over and he’ll stay on call until you’re in his house

- has a bad habit of getting into petty arguments with you that start off playful, like debating over what the best chocolate bar is but he’ll end up taking it too far and getting legit mad LMAO. you both end up cackling about managing to argue over chocolate

- plans his future with you in it. knows he always wants to be in close proximity to you, daniel and his dad no matter what! he can’t imagine life without you and tbh he doesnt want to.

-one of my favorite hcs for him is that he has a very slightly pudgy stomach. like he’s fit and athletic and all that, but he just has a lil bit of squishy fluff right down there at his stomach that he cant get rid of no matter how much he tries

-and yall already know where i’m going with this stomach thing. gghrgggrhr he cannot HANDLE it

-he’s so ticklish. like hilariously ticklish. even in scenarios where stuff shouldn’t tickle he’s all giggly.

-such a giggler. all over the place in pitch, from high to low to squeaky to wheezy its literally everything under the sun

-his whole laugh is just so chaotic. snorts, hiccups, squeaks, squawks, guffaws, huffs, all of it. the whole shebang

-he absolutely gets lee moods, and when he does he either ignores them out of denial or kind of just spends time Closer to people.

-he isn’t the type to provoke people into tickling him through being annoying, he already feels like a mess-up and he wouldn’t wanna bother anyone

-SO not immune to pokes and tases. oh tases get this boy so bad

-versus if you grab his hips from behind and squeeze them he folds in half like a lawn chair, legs flying up and torso flying down. its kinda the only spot that gets him to do this though, anywhere else and he just crumples to the floor

-i think his ears are sensitive

-i don’t think she’s really all that sensitive tbh

-she can get kinda giggly if you get her hands, back, neck, ears, wrists, etc.. but not many other places

-also not one to laugh very hard. it’s just difficult to get her going

-if you’re really close with her, like really really close, she’ll let loose a little, let herself actually giggle instead of just snicker

-i don’t think she’s necessarily shy, just.. straight up not ticklish

Ler!

-she’s a bit more of a ler than a lee because of her sensitivity

-one thing i love about the mouthwashing fandom is.. they just randomly all collectively decided that anya has long nails

-and i agree with this wholeheartedly.

-she would be a very gentle ler, afraid of making her lee uncomfortable

-even if you’re very close she’d really only go for a minute or so before hesitating

-so sweet and gentle. makes sure you have water and so so good about knowing when to stop

-she’s so worried its almost flustering

Vox let out a laugh that was quite clearly untruthful. “Yes Alastor I am aware! I was alone in here and so I figured I’d just save up some energy. I’m sure you understand.”

“Quite frankly I don’t,” Alastor paused, “I think maybe I could help you get that smile back.”

Vox didn’t even have to think. He knew Alastor meant he was going to tickle him. You could ask Velvette. She’s seen those two in tickle fights that lasted for DAYS. she knows what they’re capable of, or more so what Alastor is capable of.

Vox puts up a fight for maybe a couple seconds but he just loves tickles more than he can play pretend that he doesn’t <3

Yo! Im the loke/laxus anon, you totallly ate there, i was very invested in the gamer au. And also i wanted to ask, if it's okay would natsu/cobra hcs be cool? Randomly found some fanart of it on pinterest and I was like. Hm. I dont fully understand the concept but intriguing

That one is quite the struggle to imagine. Natsu is the kind of person that requires patience and a certain joie de vivre to get along with. Cobra has neither of those.

Natsu is the one who starts pursuing Cobra, not even romantically at first but just to hang out with him. He's very concerned about Cobra being such a loner and frowning all the time.

This does not go over well. Cobra, as he would remind Natsu, has friends, and doesn't need pink-haired loudmouths clinging to him. Natsu quickly recognizes this train of thought (i.e. only hanging out with a select group of friends and shunning everyone else) as akin to Laxus' behavior pre-Fantasia, and forces the issue.

They fight a few times. Natsu gets stomped, even without Cobra's ability to read minds. Shockingly, this doesn't work to deter him--I know, incredible surprise.

It gets to a point where Cobra is seriously thinking about killing Natsu--not as a joke, just outright that tired of him--when he trips up one day and they have their first real connection. Cobra is feeding a nearby snake, completely lost in his thoughts, so much so his super-hearing doesn't pick up Natsu nearby. Natsu is super proud to catch Cobra, a bad guy, doing something "nice".

Cobra, concerned about his image, defends himself with the rationale that he's not being nice. He's just the cog in the wheel of nature that was selected as the means for an animal to feed itself. It's total bullshit and Natsu calls him on it, too.

This ends up being the weakness that lets Natsu get close, though. He always wants to be around when Cobra feeds snakes or other wildlife, and Cobra never wants to do it in front of him, and when he's finally caught again, he gives the rationale that he does it because even things that aren't pretty or soft deserve to eat.

Cobra only starts truly being able to tolerate Natsu more (well, for a generous value of "tolerate"--he'd still rather Natsu leave him alone) when Natsu starts to expand his unasked-for presence to the rest of the Oracion Seis, which in turn helps him understand Cobra more. Cobra has a familiarity with animal senses and instinct that has helped him pull Racer out of some dark places when he over-uses his hyper speed magic, and he has a grounded attachment to reality that has helped Angel when she starts to dissociate. He even knows a few tricks for maintaining focus and clearing one's head, something he's had to use to counteract his overcranked hearing and which he taught to Midnight to help him sleep. Natsu doesn't start to fall for Cobra until he sees why the other members of the Seis cherish him as much as they do.

Natsu does attempt to be more """"serious"""" around Cobra, if only to not annoy him so much, and the effort is silently appreciated. Natsu lowering the volume and the rapid pace helps him interact with Cobra a lot.

At one point, Cobra gets separated from the rest of the Seis for some misadventure or other that goes pretty rough. Natsu manages to track him down by following his scent, only by the time he does, Cobra's all banged up, soaking wet from rain, ears hurting, and in a shitty mood. Natsu gets him to a safe spot and tosses him a bottle of pain meds for the headache he undoubtedly has, tosses him some dry sweatpants, lets him un-fuckup himself on his own.

Cobra fucks Natsu into another dimension that night, is what I'm saying. Like, something breaks, he just drags Natsu into a room, throws him on a bed--no words, just angry, needy, self-hating, frustrated pumping.

And from there on, whatever's between them is difficult to put a label on. Natsu is into it, Cobra isn't, and there's an understanding that if Natsu ever tells anyone he's dead to rights.

Every once in a while, whatever the hell they are will soften into something that could be. Some cuddling on the couch. Fingers in Natsu's hair. Cobra docile as long as Natsu stays quiet and doesn't move too fast. Cobra will accept the illusion of being loved by someone as long as he doesn't have to consider that it might be real.

Im on a absolute character yap roll so I must now talk about my silly Dottolone child Arlo Yap under the cut

Arlo was an artificial human created by Dottore using the remains of some random dead soldier. He replaced everything in the body with new parts even replacing the DNA with his own and Pantalones (without telling him btw imagine his surprise when Dottore brought in a whole as human he made that looked like a mix of the two of them). Anyway the reason Dottore made Arlo was just to see if he could make an artificial human without irminsul branches, which I mean he did but they’re quite unstable and weak. But what they lack in physical strength they make up for in smarts. They were created to be 18 (mainly because Dottore didn’t want to deal with a child in case his plan worked) but they can age just slower than the average human, given a life expectancy of about 400 by Dottore. That’s if they remain stable enough though, tests remain to be made They also have chronic joint pains and often needs to use a cane though they often refuse to use it as they don't want to admit they need it. They have a Dendro vision and use a catalyst. Arlo and Dottore don't have the best relationship at all given Dottore just kinda wanted to see if he could so once he figured out that was in fact true he kinda pushed Arlo aside. Pantalone was the one to be like "nah why don't we keep them I like them" and so they did, the twos relationship is a lot better than them and Dottore, not the best but better Arlo much likes to keep to themselves and can often be found in the little lab given to them by Dottore. They are a curious but stern silly, not afraid to just waltz into somewhere if curious about something. Could be considered naive but they know just what they’re doing, being quite smug about the fact they know. Tries to keep a calm composure but is quick to anger though. Not very stable and can have violent mood swings going from kind and polite to attempting to murder within seconds. If something is not of interest to them they will make it painfully clear. Is quite aloof when it comes to anything other than his studies. Certified yapper like their fathers. Not really fond of humans, or the gods, or anyone really they just stick around cause Dottore lets them continue their experiments. Pantalone has to constantly drag them out of the lab in order for them to even see the damn sun. They also hate the cold having stolen one of Pantalones coats that they found in Dottore's closet (He has a collection of stolen coats). They call Dottore by his name most often with the occasional dad and Pantalone Father.

They also have a little emerald laying around their lab that Pantalone gave to them. I hc Pantalone collects a lot of shiny rubies and emeralds cause they remind him of Dottore and Arlos eyes. live laugh sentimental Pantalone. Arlo also collects shiny things too, often collecting mora coins to show to Pantalone Oh dear I have yapped so much, I have more but i'll share that another day

Any valteil headcanons? C:

Oooo i have some! Even thought it`s little hard for me to form headcanons into text, but lets begin!

Most noticeable hc its his hair. Before godhood and meeting Fellowship, he had pretty long hair (i dont think while he was in church and adult he cut his hair. no big reason for that). Gonna say, his hair not in good condition. Quite dry and brittle though they are long.

While in travel, Valteil start getting pissed of hair, because it was too long (the hair gets into the eyes, often gets dirty, gets stuck everywhere, well, there is always a chance that they will be captured by enemies (well, or very annoying partners)) So he decided to cut it very VERY shirt. And in new god form he just bald

(sketches to show this process) Also one hc that i dont show often (at least in right way) its his little anger problem. Of cource its not like "IM ANGRY!! DESTROY BOM BAM!!!", its more slowly and unshown (at least in early stages). One of his negative personality trait its hes vindictive. Add that he is pretty closed and you get "im not angry, but i`ll explode at my peak if anger". Mostly at the anger peak he will try not to harm reason of anger, even if he wants so ( reason of anger is other person), but when he is angry at himself, he might hurt himself like pulling out hair, scratching his face (but no cutting, his scars are mostly from blood rituals)

(old sketch for example) Well, yeah i would mention that when hes pissed, angry, not in a good mood, he can swear (but not very often, hes smartass not swearass) Well, what about something positive? For example, Valteil love sweets! Pies, candies, chocolate - he loves everything!

Sweets for him like a little thing that makes day better. Fair mention hes not really into sweet drinks

Also, because Valteil is very thin and physically weak, hes freezes easily. He tries to sleep in warm places, be more close to fire and etc. In Mahabre its not a big problem, i dont think it's very cold there. One thing that i want to write, its that i hc him being the first, who joined Fellowship (aka told Francois about a chance to become godlike), or last (not including Nosramus, they joined in one time with Valteil i think). And last thing i mention its his "connection" with sky. In all of his moments of life, he looked at the sky and thought about future godhood/creation of life. Sky was some type of line that connected everything. Like you looking at the sky (especially when its a night) and imagine finishing last goal, tasting future victory. Something like that. I hope i explained understandable... (i hope that i would make it in pictures, like full art) It`s not all of them, bot those that stuck in my head strong, ahahaha

18) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

i tried doing this with a mags fanfic i wrote bc i hc that d4 spoke spanish before the first war. there is literally only one sentence in spanish though bc i knew for a fact the phrasing was correct (at least in a casual, conversational setting) but i do think it's really cool when people write d4 characters having entire convos in spanish even though im not confident enough in my langauge skills to do it myself. also i just don't think d4 would know how to speak spanish in canon times, prob just affectionate terms like mija/o or mano or chula. like stuff that doesn't rlly affect how the capitol understands them. i get into this in the fic, but i think even by mags’ generation spanish would stop being a common language in d4. like i love the sentiment of her carrying a piece of that w her but i don’t think the capitol would let them get away with that and it’s also Not Easy to remember how to speak a language you only learned as a child and then never used for the rest of ur life, which is what i imagined happened with her + her gen. like. me and my siblings only know english bc the moment my dad moved here he was like “okay. English Time” and that stemmed from the pressure to assimilate can you imagine if the actual law got involved. anyway this answer got long but i have a lot of thoughts about this sorta stuff, esp in d4

No. 1: Tobi definitely annoys the shit out of her if they’re ever paired up. For the persona, of course, but also because he finds her responses amusing. Pein probably knows better than to pair them up after one time because Peak Chaotic Energy and also because Tobi would definitely see how far he could push her temper (arrogant little shit he is, he doesn’t fear her wrath).

No. 2: Their personalities + their parallels,, They’re angry, determined, but love/hate too strongly. If there was ever a time or universe where Obito was true to himself during his time in the Akatsuki they might even get along. Or maybe they’d just be at each other’s throats bc amgry. ‾\_(ツ)_/‾ Or both?

No. 3: He probably doesn’t take much interest in her personally though, either as Tobi or Madara. She’s just another pawn to him, like the vast majority of the other Akatsuki members. Amusing at times, perhaps useful, but nothing more than that.

No. 4: Obito is so deeply caught in hopelessness and delusion at this point that I think even if he found out about Minami being able to see spirits, he’d brush off the chance to hear of Rin at first (not only because he would call bullshit and not believe it). Why does he need to know of her spirit if he’ll see her again after his plans reach completion anyway, in a more peaceful world? But I think that mindset would eventually break down the more he considered the idea and he’d find a way to demand to communicate with her, or at least hear about her (maybe it’d even snap him out of his no-good evil plan earlier in the game if he learned of Rin’s disapproval, because she’s undoubtedly glaring at him from the afterlife for his terrible, terrible decisions).

Bonus?: idek how this would come to be but Obito and Minami comparing their teleportation skills with Blood Release vs. Kamui would be pretty funny (at least in my head but its also almost 5am and i need sleep so who knows). Obito thinks his technique is way better and cooler and brags about it Uchiha Style™. He also laughs at her when she lands on her face bc he’s an unrepentant jerk.

- scaramouche is surprised to wake up in one piece, but he's even more surprised to see you there taking care of him.

characters: scaramouche x reader a/n: thank you so much for requesting! and no worries about being too specific, it actually helps me out. fun fact; scary is one of my favorite characters so I have a lot of spare headcanons about him. as always, feel free to request again if I misunderstood anything. also, this dragged out im so sorry. warnings: kinda angsty, descriptions of illness, sleep paralysis, an attempt at slow buildup of a relationship. some beta, we cling on like signora simps do.

I kept it vague as to what you and Scaramouche were before the Sumeru Arc, but you two did know each other, and you were working against him somehow.

Scaramouche spends a long time out of it. He’s not exactly had an easy life, and artificial god-form or not, the gnosis probably did a number on his body and mind - especially when it was taken away. Even with Nahida’s care, his body is incredibly weak, and he’s being plagued by nightmares and horrible memories. He’s essentially as weak and defenseless as a newborn child, and when he finally wakes up, he has to come to terms with the fact that he needs to start over. Again.

You and Scaramouche don't acknowledge each other for a while; His pride has taken a serious beating, and part of him refuses to believe that you're willingly taking care of him. He's sure it's a ploy of sorts, to put him in debt to you, one he couldn't possibly pay off - not that he's planning to. Meanwhile, you're twisting your own thoughts; truthfully, you pity him, but the constant reminder of what he's done in his lifetime - puppet or not - is washing over you like an incoming storm, and not even Nahida's words can alleviate that form of guilt.

You two get into a routine; you make sure he eats, drinks and sleeps, you put him through the rehabilitation program Nahida made, and you keep quiet every morning when his eyes are red and face is swollen from crying. You don't call out his poor excuses, and you don't ask for anything in return for your care. Scaramouche doesn't thank you anyway - at best he scoffs at you, glaring as if you were the one to take his gnosis. Most of the time, he's zoned out - pretending you're not there at all.

A few weeks pass by, and he's finally capable of walking by himself again - his mood seems better, and he's not on the verge of passing out just from crossing the room anymore. He's been outside again, although only on the balcony, but it's improvement, and he thinks so as well. You don't mention it, but it's obvious in the way his lips curl, and the way his eyes light up when the wind brushes past him. It makes a small smile break through your own frown. Still, recovery can be cruel with its ups and downs - and the world wouldn't let you forget that.

It takes a flare up - a bad one - for Scaramouche to finally acknowledge you. Waking up, he's thrown from one nightmare into another, his limbs paralyzed and eyes wide open, hot, searing pain pierces through him like hellfire, and for a second he thinks he's dying. He wants to scream, he needs to, but his throat feels raw and he can't move. His stomach churns at the sight of the world around him distorting, comforting green color bleeding into hues of red and purple; shapes breaking free from the chaos, faces he can recognize, voices he can recognize, pounding on his head like thunder strikes. And then - it stops.

You're gently shaking him awake, placing a cold cloth on his head and explaining something about another fever, but your words barely reach him. Your voice does, though; and while his head still feels as if it's being pounded against a wall, body engulfed in pain, you somehow pulled him out of that waking nightmare. And by the Archons, has he never been more fucking grateful to you in his life.

Still, he can't do anything; the pain overwhelms his senses, and closing his eyes feels like falling into a dark pit, spinning rapidly, and nausea washes over him again. He's not sure how much time passes, but it feels like an eternity - until, eventually, the pain stops.

Four days, you tell him. The flare up lasted four days; a high fever, but he's experienced it before. Part of him is thankful for not remembering it. You then tell him that it wasn't his first time experiencing sleep paralysis, either; and he wonders just how many times you've seen him like this. You shake your head when asked, another frown on your face. He decides not to pry.

You turn to leave, conversation seemingly over, but stop briefly when he utters a meek "Thanks". So quiet you could miss it, and part of him honestly hopes you did. He doesn't get a reply - but you leave with a small smile on your face.

From then on, things seem to improve between the two of you. It starts awkwardly. Scaramouche, or, Wanderer, as he asks you to call him for the time being, isn’t one to open up, and you’re not too keen on the idea of rambling about your days, when most of them are spent taking care of him or helping the traveler, with very little time left for yourself. Still, you manage to chat somehow - going from smalltalk, to Cyno’s bad jokes, to icebreakers that Nahida suggests - until eventually, conversation flows naturally between the two of you. You begin to bring him out of the sanctuary - in disguise, of course - and on those walks that get longer and longer the better he feels, there is little to do but chat about your lives. You get to experience what he’s like normally, and although he acts like a little shit, it’s nice to see him look a little more alive than he did before.

Nahida still has him under strict supervision, but as long as you’re with him, he’s fine to go out. Well, it could be anyone, really, but Dehya and him are at eachothers throats within minutes, Nilou simply refuses to be near him, and he’s told both Al Haitham and Cyno to go suck it one too many times (and that's among the nicer things he’s said to them). So, he always ends up with you, and you pretend to ignore the self-satisfied smirk that's on his face anytime someone comes dragging him your way. You also pretend to ignore the laugh Nahida is holding back at his antics.

Wanderer becomes a constant presence in your life; always bugging you to give him attention, to do something with him, and most of the time, it ends up with you dragging him off before he accidentally breaks the law (or insults Al Haitham…again). Though, you notice that he’s oddly nice to children and the elderly - not above helping either out, and one time you even saw him playing peek-a-boo with a kid while waiting for you. It made you smile, but you didn’t miss how quiet he got when the mother laughed and picked up the girl, telling her to bid him farewell. The same evening, he wordlessly hugs you, and tells you about his own mother. For a few hours, you two sit together, hidden away from the world for a while.

He’s quickly back to normal, but you somehow feel that you’ve gotten closer. It shows in the way his gaze softens when looking at you, and how his hand occasionally finds yours when no one is looking. You see it in Nahida’s knowing smile, and in how Dehya rolls her eyes, but sends a wink your way when Wanderer looks away. He’s become more protective as well, you notice, as he’s quick to step in to defend you in even the smallest of scuffles. You can’t resist teasing him about it sometimes, and the blush on his face when he tries to deny it with his entire being is one of the best things you’ve ever seen. 

Over time, he’s made himself home in your accommodations, and your heart, and while dealing with his antics and taking care of him is difficult, you’d be lying if you said that you wanted him out. You don’t mind holding him through the occasional flare ups, or picking him up on days when he’s so weak that he collapses, and you make sure to tell him this when he seems to doubt it.

One day, it’s suspiciously quiet in your house, and for a second you’re afraid that he’s run off; but relief washes over you when you see him sitting by your desk, looking at something in his hand. You approach him, and glance over his shoulder to see…a vision. A shining, green gemstone, with an anemo symbol in the middle - somewhere in the back of your mind, you recall Venti’s laugh, and think back on the day on the balcony when Wanderer finally managed to walk that far. How the wind immediately picked up, as if to welcome him back. He’s inspecting it, lost in thought, as his eyes glide over the symbol, and the gold casing around it - the decoration that indicates where the wielder is from. His gaze seems to get stuck on it - teeth worrying at his bottom lip, and you glance down, concerned about what it could mean for him. But, to your relief, the gold isn’t shaped in the style of an Inazuman vision, or a Snezhnayan one; it resembles a leaf, or a teardrop; the one that so many of your friends from Sumeru carry. He snaps out of his daze when you place a hand on his shoulder, smiling down at him; and his expression softens with a sigh.

“I wonder… is this just another way of tying me to a God?”

His voice comes out meek, and you exhale slowly, choosing your next words carefully.

“...How much do you know of the Anemo Archon?”

“Tsk, just that he’s a lazy Archon who practically abandoned his people under the guise of freedom.”

Both of you pause, with you deep in thought, and him glaring at the vision in front of him.

“Well, we could argue all day if it’s abandonment or freedom - but from what I know, he cares about his people, and if anyones really in need, he does interfere. He doesn’t just leave all to suffer”.

Wanderer scoffs, throwing a glare your way. Still, he doesn’t speak for a while, so your words did get to him, you figure. You lean against the wall next to the desk, crossing your arms, gaze falling on the faintly pulsating vision.

Wanderer breaks the silence again. “What does freedom really mean though, when demanded of you by a God?”

Those words sounds familiar, you realize, as you ponder his question. You glance out the window, humming, while he looks at you expectantly. His eyebrows knit together in an offended look when a small smile pulls at the corners of your lips, and he opens his mouth to spew an insult, but you interrupt him.

“I think this means that the ball is in your court. You can take it, use the new power granted to you, and start anew, if you’re ready…” Pushing yourself off the wall, you pick up the vision and turn it in your hand “...or, you can leave it. Entirely behind, or just on the shelf, for another day.”

He looks up at you again, as you slide the vision into his hand with a smile.

“But, I think that the fact that it’s here is enough of a sign already. So what will it be, Wanderer?”
