Monday Funday

I usually reserve production for Mondays and as a result, Monday morning the hubs and kids are off to work and school, and I have the house to myself to watch film and clickety clack, clickety clack away the day.

Mom was in town so we spent Sunday doing family time after a brief time at Meditation. I love my meditation group and was super happy my husband joined me even for a short duration. I missed a killer babes who brunch too which is a bummer but there is only one of me and so many things to do; sometimes, we have to make choices. 

Spent the rest of my night painting in the basement. I used oil on canvass and the kids used tempera paint on the walls. I did this short series of doors for all of my deceased friends. To date, there are 6. 3 in the past year. ALL of them suicides in one form or another.  I had a dream about one of those friends the other day. We had had another argument, and in my anger I shouted, “You’re going to be dead in a week anyway!” And I ran out of his car and hid because I thought he was going to be angry and start shouting vilities at me. Instead, he was struck by the fact that it was going to be all over soon and he was trying to find me to make peace with me and for us to end his life as friends. I woke up and looked at the door in my room and was inspired to create one for each of them as symbolism of their passage through a door, but also the door to life is now closed for them. 

As I painted, I cried and laughed and we listened to music and sang. It is interesting how children are not alarmed by tears nor do they feel moved to give any pity. My son simply checked-in briefly with a question, “Why are you crying mommy?” To which I responded, “Oh just letting myself feel the loss of my friends.” And that was it. 

Ebay is done. I have one more item listed and apple watches still to profit from, but otherwise my foray as a seller is over and was definitely worth my time. Looking forward to doing some shopping at Whole Paycheck with some of those funds for March since my Feb mission to streamline and move things out of this house and not let things come in, will be over. 

Feb 27- I have made a choice as to what March will be about. It will be a month of apologies. And of course, one with a little twist.
