WOO got this, I know I am late, this is also for new year, sincemaybe I won't post a special for it. I wanted to thank to all of you because of this wonderful year (didn't draw my ocs since this year was already a gift lol <33), maybe didn't add the whole people I wanted, but everyone is so special for me, again tysm for this year (maybe not going to be active the next, but will try my best), hope you had a nic holidays, and also a happy new year (I repeat myself a lot sorry :]])

been reflecting on my year a bit, and i was thinking about something. i think i know what the best thing i did for myself this year was.

making cometcare public. making the ask blog.

ive had this AU stirring in my brain since 2019, ever since i got really attached to doomi during the haunted arc. one reason i went so long without revealing pollarrydoomi as a ship to readers was because doom's crush wasn't public information until late 2021.

i had kept his crush a mystery for 3 years, but revealed it after a fun experience where people figured out who it was through guessing. i'm pretty sure i did a poll about it? asking people to guess who they thought it was, and uni won the vote, meaning everyone had already figured it out.

after pollarrydoomi was revealed and i started drawing art for it and people made fanart for it, i still couldn't post any of my AU art because ally wasn't public and she and howie were in the AU. in july 2022, for the comic's birthday, i revealed ally as a character to the readers. others around the time had started to notice characters i had in pfps and i ended up telling everyone i did have pollarrydoomi ship kids, but i didn't make them public.

in november 2022, i revealed eve on toyhouse. after her reveal, i would soon reveal sly as well in december 2022 on my birthday (revealing sly as a birthday present to myself is such a funny gesture now that you guys know how important he is to me). over the next few weeks i revealed cream, frosty, and marco as well. all of the main cometkids except chem.

then one day someone out there suggested that i make an ask blog for the cometcare AU. it was such a spontaneous decision, and i didn't even really know what i was gonna do with it at first. i was just kinda messing around. but when i made the blog i realized that if i wanted this AU to be experienced in complete authenticity, i couldn't make uni cis.

so i revealed uni being trans through the blog, despite the fact i'd gone so many years without ever revealing her identity. why did i do it? there's a lot of reasons. not wanting to make her a "dad" in the AU contributed, but also i felt like it wouldn't be detrimental to the story to confirm a character being trans. it also made me (and the crew in general) a lot more comfortable being able to properly refer to uni with her actual pronouns.

making the ask blog really changed me, because finally i could share this little family and comfort story i'd built in my brain with the world and make it real and make content for it and let people consume it.

but what stopped me most of all?

i've said it many times before... but i felt like it was cringey.

i felt like making an AU with 93985893844 fankids in a ridiculous complicated polycule wasn't something a Serious content creator should do, and i was really worried the reception would be negative or people would think it was stupid or something. i did NOT expect it to become as popular as it is. the blog actually has more followers than the MAIN ASK BLOG for the canon comic. it was received SO POSITIVELY and the fact it was just kind of blows me away.

it means so much to me. being able to share the most special thing in my life with people and for people to actually like it and have fun with me and want to see it, and for me to be able to not have to follow strict professionalism about spoilers and chronological storytelling, and being able to change and add in things whenever i felt like it. it's such a freeing experience.

when i was a kid, i used to make stories and OCs and i didn't take them as seriously as i do the sparklecare reboot. this kind of turned into my entire life and career kinda, so i had to take it more seriously. but making this AU honestly just makes me feel like i'm a kid again, it makes me feel like i can have fun and literally do whatever the fuck i want without worrying what people think or if it's realistic or if it makes any sense.

i know though, that some people don't like pollarrydoomi. and i know why. whether it's because of being attached to barruni (of course, they're the canon ship and main characters, i get it) or just having discomfort with the idea of shipping doom with anyone when canonically he hasn't experienced a redemption arc... i get it. i know not everyone likes it.

and that's okay! people are entitled to having their own feelings about content. i understand it. and i've come to accept that's always going to be the case with anything i do with these characters.

but i'm still going to do this for myself. i do this because it makes me happy to just have fun and not worry about being serious all the time. it feels good, especially when it's with characters that are really really important to me.

cometcare is genuinely the most special and important thing i've ever made for myself, it's such a huge piece of my identity and it makes me who i am. and being able to make this story public and share it with people and share these things that have been in my brain for so long with others means so much to me.

that's why i think it was the best thing i've done this year. it's kind of literally changed my life to be able to talk about them. it's made me happier than i've ever been making content. i'm not just making it to entertain myself alone anymore, i'm making it to entertain others like i do with other stuff. and the fact people actually like it still is unbelievable to me.

so, i guess my outlook for next year as it comes is to continue to stop taking everything so seriously. i can tell my stories however i want to. i hope others can realize they can do this too.

please make whatever you want, whenever you what, as much as you want, even if it doesn't make sense or if it's "cringe". you will be so much happier when you realize as a creator you DON'T have to take all of this so seriously. the comic still exists and people read it even if i'm doing this. You Can Do Whatever You Want And Nobody Can Ever Stop You. the only person who can stop you is yourself when you let your inhibitions get in the way of your ability to create things for yourself.

(Note that this drawing was made when I just returned to HS and haven't yet seen some of the amazing variations of their designs here on Tumblr, so my design for Dave will probably be changed, idk)

She lived with her Big Sister, they were Strider's neighbors from a floor down

They lived in hard financial conditions, her Sister overworked herself to provide for them both and was almost never home to look after Cindy, which forced Cindy to fend for herself most of the time when she was little

She met Dave on the roof once, the meeting involved spying on his Bro and her Sister talking about some secret Older Sibling Stuff or something. It looked like her Sister was crying? Overall a pretty awkward first meeting

Cindy felt guilty often about their situation for some reason, so she helped with whatever she could in the house

But her relationship with her Sister was.. not ideal, it was very strained and painful for both of them, Cindy felt hurt from her Sister not being around much, even if she understood why that was

Even so, she still felt cared for and appreciated her Sister and her sacrifices

Cindy was bullied in school, I know, shocker, she was considered weird, dirty, ugly, scary, and was avoided most of the time. Some kids called her "Dead-Eyed Cindy", because of how her eyes resemble the ones of a dead fish, but she reclaimed that nickname for herself, because she thinks it makes her sound badass. She didn't know what friendship was supposed to be like, and convinced herself she was better off without anyone, but she desperately wanted to have real friends she could trust one day

She was very stiff emotionally when she first started chatting with Dave, but with time became more sincere and open thanks to also getting to know Rose, Jade, and John

She and Dave are both weird dead thing collectors, but Cindy prefers to collect animal bones and skulls. Their music preferences don't match like. In any form, but Cynthia greatly enjoys Dave's mixes and tunes, and always encouraged him to do more

She adores gothic rock, punk rock, heavy metal, screamo and any other "edgy" music genre you can think of

Of course she didn't have money to go to concerts and buy merch of her favorite bands, so all the posters in her room were home printed

She's all about that messy grungy look. Her hair? Intentually cut like that by herself. Smeared makeup? Her favorite style. Her clothes? Ripped and modified by herself. She wanted to ward off normies away from her this way, not caring about what other people think of her, and also just because she likes the style

She didn't like Rose's overly posh way of wording things at first(so pretentious), but they quickly clicked over shared interests in goth culture and the paranormal unknown, Cindy cares about her greatly and comforted her through the hardships Rose had to endure

Cindy didn't know what to think of Jade's strangeness and, quite frankly, didn't like her vibes at first, but warmed up to her greatly with time and really sympathized with her, Cindy really believes Jade deserves so much better, and is determined to let her know they care

John was very intimidated by Cindy at first, and Cindy assumed he just didn't like her, so she acted more coldly towards him, and it continued to be like that for a pretty awkwardly long time, but of course his dorkiness hooked her up quick, as it did his other friends, and they slowly but surely became very close; Cynthia became very protective of Egbert fast

Cindy always tries to put in work into her friendships, as she naturally doesn't want to be alone again, but also because she doesn't want her friends to feel left out or ignored, cause she knows what it's like

Which also seems like overcompensation, as she feels like she's not the best person to be around, so she tries to be helpful, even when she no longer has any mental resources for that

She had no clue about what kind of game Sburb even was, and she definitely didn't have time to ask when meteors suddenly started raining from the sky

No fucking way was she going to die if she could help it, so she fought for her and her friends' lives with all she had

How was she able to godtier and whatnot without entering the game? Beats me, you're asking as if I should know and write some good explanation for it and make it make sense🙄🙄💅 I just wanna play touoys, hope you understand💓

Cindy started questioning her identity along the way of their adventures on the meteor, and started using she/they/him pronouns

If I had to write about her relationships with all of the trolls we'd be here all day, so let me just point out the most relevant things here <3

Gamzee had a pitch crush on her, and they entertained the idea for a while, but she quickly recoiled from that when Gamzee, uh, started doing Stuff. She actively maintains friendships with Aradia, Kanaya, and Tavros, and is on good terms with Terezi, Sollux, and Nepeta. It's a bit more complicated with the others, though.. Their relationship with Karkat was very murky and tense at first, she wasn't having his bullshit, but he grew on them with time, when Cindy realized they both have similar goals and wants. She can't tolerate Eridan's bullshit and mostly avoids him, doesn't like Equius for his attitude and hates him for what he did to Aradia, Feferi.. well, they just can't find a common ground, especially because Feferi's royalty, and Cindy holds no respect for them. And Vriska.. he justifiably doesn't like her, at all, but is somewhat sympathetic of her issues.

She is a Page of Blood, and their journey of self-realization had to teach him that she can't win and please them all, that they can be their true self around her friends, and that he can also depend on others for help when she needs it

She learned to make chains from blood, his or otherwise, and use them in battle, and at their highest potential she can bind someone's body to another's and adjust what it means according to situation.

You're badly injured and there's no one else to help in sight? She can bind your body to hers and share their life essence with you, practically making it so you both share an internal system, and if she's healthy enough, then you'll be too in a second

He can drain someone's blood and give it to another if they need it, she can solidify blood inside someone's veins to make it hard to move

She can make a dying person's heart beat via a blood bind, but it's very draining for her and can be quite deadly if done hastily and improperly, and he can't do it when a body already went cold, at least they didn't learn how to, maybe with enough conviction and training she could one day🤔

Maybe with time she found even more uses and possibilities for her chains

She's a great motivator, especially if it's his friends that need morale, they always have their friends' backs

She's not a fan of being a leader, but can be if the situation calls for it

Overall, Cynthia is a person with an intimidating exterior, and warm and genuine interior!🥹

YESS WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE THE FANKIDS ‼️

Hhhhdhdgshgd I’m very shy abt them but I’m gonna be brave since a couple of y’all were curious!! :’> here they are!!

There’s four of em and their names are Maisie, Lacey (short for Shoelace), Crowbar and Junior. They were born tiny, hairless and wrinkly and developed the ability to zoom around and track smells before they managed to open their eyes so they start terrorizing Jimmy Two Teeth before they can even see him, they’re like a horrible mix of naked mole rats and piranhas lmaoooo

Also here is the first drawing I ever did of them :’)

When I was designing them I felt like there were already so many fankids out there that are a really perfect fusion of both of Sam and Max’s looks, and I wasn’t crazy about trying to do it myself so I just made an army of little maxlets. The Maxlings, if you will! But I did give them longer tails in later drawings and Crowbar has floppy ears like Sam, so they didn’t completely skip his genes jfkhsgs ^^; I have planned out how they came to be but I’ll probably put that in a different post (maybe I’ll even write a little thing for it teehee that might be fun). But I can describe them a little here!!

Maisie is the oldest (as in the first one to be found, they weren’t really born in the traditional sense so \_:p_/) and she just really loves sharp objects lmao. She is mostly non-verbal, but in kind of a Ferb way where she’ll occasionally throw out a cryptic one-liner and mostly remain silent with kind of an ominous stare. Her sisters and brother are completely unfazed by this and have absolutely no fear of her, but she loves being scary to everyone else. She constantly seems like she’s about to commit an act of incredible violence but she doesn’t like to be caught doing it, so it’s all off-screen. She feels like it’s scarier that way. Max is very proud of her.

Lacey (Shoelace, because she used one as a teething toy as a baby which is baffling because neither of her dads wear shoes where did it come from??) is one of the middle kids. She likes dressing up and bounces around between masc and femme and both and neither. She also likes chatting a mile a minute with Crowbar, and she’s less of a twig than her sisters. Later in life she might try and get a lil buff like Sam. She mostly likes to go along with her sisters’ ideas because her head is pretty empty a lot of the time, and she’s slightly less inclined to jump to violence than they are. But only slightly. She also maybe picks up Sam’s habit of grabbing random items.

Crowbar is the other middle kid and fairly precocious. She’s the first one to unlock language capabilities (I have a comic about that I can post later!), and she loves trying to imitate Sam’s vocabulary. Not that she’s, like, good at it yet, but she’s trying lmao. She’s always very cheerful and bouncy and probably the most likely to cry a little if something goes wrong, but also frequently swings back around to bouncy happy and tends to forget whatever upset her immediately. She swings violently back and forth between having zero thoughts and being head full many thoughts that she has to babble loudly all at once.

And Junior is the youngest, the smallest, the baby of the family. He’s very shy and sensitive, and his sisters are like his own personal bodyguards lmao. He has a lot of sensory issues that his dads make sure to help him with, like getting him soft clothes and a noise cancelling beanie (bc he ears not really suited to headphones) and shooting out overhead lights when they’re too bright for him hdkdhshs. He also likes napping in Sam’s pockets and under his hat and Max loves carrying him around like the baby he is. He’s also a creative little dude and he likes drawing (and also eating the crayons afterward).

All four of them are little goblins who have no concept of morality (like even Junior, he may be skittish but he still condones violence and chaos hdkdhshs) and will eat almost anything. They are truly their fathers’ children shjfjjdgdjshsh, and speaking of which Sam and Max are thrilled to have them around and completely obsessed with them hehe. They pretty much just carry on with their cases like usual except now they have a small pack of land piranhas that they can sic on difficult suspects lmaoooo

And I have some more sketches of them I can post, too!! So I’ll probably bounce back and forth between that and the virtues for a bit hehe :>

This is one long in the requests (I think nearly a year now), Cashew Cookie

So as I recall, her job is that she catalogues and records magical artifacts that come into Parfaedia. She studies their properties and uses, writes them down and then makes sure they get sent to their correct placement, so potential catastrophe doesn't occur in the city. She takes her job very seriously and can be a bit of a stick in the mud, she has basically no social life. She doesn't mind because it means she can do her job, but it means she's not the most pleasant to be around and she's not good at interacting with people

Cashew's name comes from the fact that they're a nut that's a similar color to Eclair's hair. Originally I was trying to find a pastry made with almonds (that wasn't already used), and I was struggling to find something, until someone eventually suggested cashew to me

Cashews:

Honestly I think her glasses look a bit off. Like they're too plain or small

Anyways, so her hair is supposed to be shaped like cashews. Her hat is also supposed to be a reference to cashews, since they come from this red/orange fruit (and also I felt like I didn't draw enough hats on characters)

I made her hair partially segmented to reference Eclair, and gave her a slight secondary color to reference Almond

I admit, her overall design may be plain, definitely more so than her dads, but I mean, I think overall her design works. Could also fit in with her antisocial vibe (though realistically she would probably be a boring looking official design)

Anyways yeah, I don't really have much to say on Cashew, but I think she's neat, and I hope you like her (and I'm sorry this took so long to answer)

what do the directors cuts of breach and dragonback look like? I know you've mentioned being burned out on overwatch, so I'll leave a ⭐️ if you'd rather answer that instead.

The Director's cut of "Breach" is--my brain just put that whole fic together basically as an AMV set to David Bowie's "Modern Love." You know that one Studio Ghibli music video? It would be coordinated to the music like that. Okay, on a more serious note, though, when I first came up with Aedan as a character, I never actually planned on giving him a redemption arc. Honestly my followers were shipping Reidan before I was--I was hesitant to ship my fankids at all because I was still writing out cutesy stuff for them that focused more on like, how parenthood was affecting their respective guardians. But then I dropped Aedan in there about the same time I was starting to draw Rei as a teenager, starting to write out her 'kit' as a hypothetical Overwatch hero, I was starting to write Marti being mentored by Jack. So the kids were basically slowly tipping into that "next-gen hero" zone when Aedan gets added to the mix.

You can all thank @the-legion for Aedan's whole characterization as we know him now, because Legion pretty much hit me with something like, "It's just I always felt sorry for the Clones in the Clone Wars, and I always liked when they became more than what they were made to be. When they fought against what they had been created for." So for me, that kind of morphed into, "Okay wait, Moira's a perfectionist, and also when you become a parent, you have this drive to make sure your kid has the resources and support you didn't--what if Moira ends up making someone a lot more sympathetic than herself." It's so funny though--literally my first drawing of him interacting with Rei was captioned, "Rei doesn't like him," but I think even then I was kind of subconsciously sympathetic towards Aedan because in that drawing Rei's visibly chewing him out and he's just kind of standing there, taking it, albeit in a broody way. Like my earliest iterations of Aedan kind of had him as more of a mini-Moira, but like, as soon as I started writing fics about his actual clone origins, I was like, "Oh--yeah, actually he's very sympathetic."

So Breach kind of became the culmination of that--and it's also like... I didn't want Aedan's redemption arc to come without incredible loss. You don't choose the right thing to do because it's easy, or even because you like a pretty girl, in the end Reaper summarizes it the most succinctly: Aedan chooses what he chooses because Moira gave him everything she never had.

The loss of Rei's dragon also hooks into that, "No redemption without incredible loss" but also that came from a decision of, "As part of maturing Rei's character, I have to force her to experience life outside of Overwatch so she's not just falling into continuing her parents' fight." It was also to demonstrate that there was no way Aedan crossing over from one side to the other would be clean. He doesn't get to arrive in Overwatch to trumpets and fanfare because Rei's still gone through this incredible trauma. De-powering arcs in comics always stressed me out so bad, or sometimes they would bore me because "you're taking away an important part of this character for angst or to shove them to the side" but actually putting Rei through this showed me their general value. It basically kept Rei and Aedan from automatically plunging into their romance after the redemption arc, forced it to more of a slow burn, and, of course, it gave me a chance to kind of, shape that Genji-esque fierce cheerfulness in Rei by dropping her in Hollywood as a stuntwoman while also giving that part of her character a deeper and more mature dimension. And you see that at the beginning of Dragonback.

The Director's cut of Dragonback is me going, "How many 90's teen coming of age/romcom tropes can I jam into these kids' existential crises?" This fic I think came a lot more quickly because there were a lot of elements that I had kind of established in my head--it's Overwatch's first brush with Andrea, it's Rei getting her dragon back, it's Rei and Aedan finally smooching. These were basically dominos that were set up as far back as Breach, they just needed time to percolate with the whole "Rei in Hollywood" bit. I think writing this fic taught me a lot about writing action scenes--I wanted Faustine to basically be a metal gear boss, I wanted Andrea to be terrifying, and I'm basically writing two simultaneous fight scenes which is basically just Genji trying to get to Rei and Aedan. I also knew I wanted to beat the shit out of Aedan as kind of a reversal of him being the 'hero' back in Breach and to also keep the focus on Rei. It's also partially establishing, "Rei doesn't love Aedan because she's dependent on him, but the seed of this whole thing is the fact that they've irrevocably changed each other." Also she needs to save him because #Feminism. I think like... this fic also really helped solidify the appeal of Rei and Aedan as star-crossed for me. Like, I think one of the things that kind of made me hesitant to ship them was the fear of the whole, "Rival families" cliche--like I think this fic's conclusion basically goes, "There is so much that is out of these kids' hands, so much in play that they never had control of since the day they were born, but they get to have this. They get to make this little space."

Also this fic ended up setting up my theory about the Shimada Dragons, which like... I dunno. You couldn't pay me to read about Kiriko, so as far as I care, that's the explanation for the Shimada dragons I'm going to go with.

i have not been able to get my head straight since @jestercrowner drew my fankids meeting theirs so i wanna make some headcannons for my digital suburban au where the fankids(including one i haven't finished drawing yet named Caine JR.) will be most common, so let's start!

-at age 4-5, Cosmo always had a specific thing that needed to be done for bedtime, after getting ready, he'd lay down in bed and have Jax and Caine tuck him in, he wouldn't sleep until he'd had his favorite plush bat knight Sir Bats with him, Jax or Caine reading him a story, and his nightlight on(he still sleeps with a nightlight and Sir Bats now because he's scared of the dark)

-Posie however is different, she needs music to sleep and her white ballerina mouse plushie

-Cosmo and Posie have the twin sibling dynamic of "get's into trouble(Posie), was roped into the trouble(Cosmo)"

-Caine is a workaholic, he stays up too late at nights, Jax usually has to drag Caine to bed

-Posie is a loud and mischievous troublemaker, meanwhile Cosmo is a kind polite and quiet helper, Jax Jr and Caine Jr just stand there and stare(it concerns Caine occasionally, but they can speak and act like normal children)

-Rabbits/bunnies are known to have huge litters, while Jax can't physically handle more than three kids in the womb at a time, being pregnant with twins will be semi common, triplets are quite rare, while one baby is pretty darn rare for Jax

-much like Ragatha, Jax is made from cotton, felt, toy stuffing, and other stuff used when making plush toys, which means Cosmo, Posie, Caine Jr, and Jax Jr are half plush, half human/anthro

-Cosmo is older than Posie by 5 minutes

-if you pick up Posie, she'll go feral and attack you(she bites). if you pick Cosmo up, he'll do his little thing in your hold politely(just make sure Sir Bats is with him so he wont get nervous). if you pick up Jax Jr and Caine Jr, they'll act like a cat that just lets you pick them up.

-Keep treats on hand when meeting all four kids for different reasons (Posie: to have her calm down.) (Cosmo: to comfort him or calm him down.) (Jax Jr and Caine Jr: to protect yourself.)

Day 3: Be True To Yourself

Aka me literally just infodumping about my Ocs because I love them ♡

Brought to you by Colorvision! Yep, I decided to get off my lazy butt and color traditionally today :)

First off, Tiara Depurrnaire (She/Her)! A Sweetypie cat who's partially related to the Snugglemagne family and, in my timeskip AU, Adorabat's future girlfriend. Like Adorabat, she lost her leg to a monster while wandering the King's dungeons. She aspires to be just as brave as Adorabat but lacks the gall, being content to watch and learn from the sidelines. As they both get older Tiara realizes that she is a lesbian, and develops a mutual crush on Adorabat that turns into a relationship. As she ages, Tiara' aspirations to become a hero fade, and she settles for becoming a ballet teacher. She learns to be brave in her own way and unconditionally supports her monster-slaying adventuring partner, no matter how their paths diverge.

T H E Y (Also I need to post my full adult Adorabat design sometime)

Next up is Sherbet (They/Them), a Sweetypie rabbit who makes ice cream for a living! I don't really have a backstory for them but I believe they realized they were nonbinary in their younger years (around early middle school age) and have fully embraced their identity! They don't let anything get them down and are eager to cheer up the citizens of Pure Heart Valley, one ice cream cone at a time. They're also good acquaintances with Badgerclops and Adorabat, for obvious reasons. Their eyes function similarly to Badgerclops', as they only open when they feel strong emotions.

Next (and honestly one of my favorites) is Moa Nola (Xe/Xem), an agender Oriental Shorthair cat who, surprisingly, isn't related to the Mao clan. Xe originally started off as a joke character based on the misspelling of Mao Mao's name in "I'm Mao Mao", but I eventually grew attached to xem and gave xem a full-fledged backstory. Xe comes from a family of fishermen, but after xyr father was killed in a monster attack, xe decided that xe wanted to become a legendary monster hunter. Xe created xyr cloak after xyr first successful monster fight. After being mistaken for the son of Shin Mao too many times, xe used it to xyr advantage and began going under Mao Mao's title for a while. However, after being stopped by Mao Mao himself, xe dropped the act and began looking for a new sense of purpose. Ironically, xe starts collecting antique ventriloquist dummies similar to Mr. Din Danalin.

Following up on the "based on a misspelling" theme is Rhapsody (She/They), a femme-aligned nonbinary Sweetypie vampire bat inspired by Adorabat's name being mistranslated as "doorbat" in YouTube autocaptions. She is Adorabat maternal cousin, as their mother is Sonara's sister. Rhapsody was heavily impacted by Sonara's death, but rather than becoming tough like Adorabat or overprotective like Eugene, she became more reserved out of fear that they could be next. In other words, she became a doorbat (haha funny). With the arrival of Mao Mao and Badgerclops, plus the defeat of the monster that killed their aunt, Rhapsody begins to come out of her shell and indulges in their biggest passion - music. Like Adorabat she learns to use their voice as a weapon, but hers is more of a siren's song than a sonic screech. In my timeskip AU, they leave Pure Heart Valley to become a popstar, writing songs inspired by her childhood memories and their home. It's obscured by the flag but the marking on her chest is a bleeding heart, emphasizing her passionate drive.

Buzz-Buzz (Zhe/Ze/Zhey), a demigender Sweetypie bumblebee bat who protects the bees of Pure Heart Valley! Despite zer small stature, zhe is actually an adult, just naturally small. Zhe also grows herbs on the side and volunteers at the Pure Heart Valley hospital. Primarily because zhe has a crush on the head doctor there... (I did not make zer to selfship with Cuddlestein. Nope. Not at all.)

My Badgermao "fankid", Sai (They/He/It)! I say "fankid" in air quotes because they're from an AU where Badgerclops' spare arm became corrupt and gained a conscience. Their robot arm is actually their body - the rest of their body is a projection of light, similar to the gems from Steven Universe! They have masculine programming (as their AI was made using Badgerclops's DNA a la Cortana from Halo), but identify as agender and use they/he/it pronouns. Originally they began as a blank slate with no personality aside from the programmed personality Badgerclops gave them, but they eventually grow their own personality and moral compass as they analyze the Sheriff's Department's work. Just like Badgerclops, they have a passion for building robots and weapons, and can even modify themselves to fit the situation! Most of their creations are usually for fun, though.

Anf the last one I have a reference for but not the least, Karma Vesper (She/They)! This one is actually my self-insert, lol. She is a biro-ace demigirl Javanese Cream-Point Cat! Her necklace was a gift from her family, and her hood was a gift from her mentor. After her village was ambushed by criminals, she became a wandering hero, and accidentally stumbled upon Pure Heart Valley while following a report of increased monster activity. At some point during her adventures alone she realized that she was biro-ace, since she felt no sexual attraction but still felt romantic attraction. Around the time she came to Pure Heart Valley she realized that she never really felt, like, 100% a GIRL girl (if that makes sense) and began identifying as a demigirl. (Yes this is my hidden self-actualization story :>) She enjoys researching gemstones and ancient artifacts, and the Ruby Pure Heart immediately caught her attention once she laid eyes on it. While she is still a wandering hero, she has a temporary residence in Pure Heart Valley, where she stays to research the Heart's powers as well as assist the townspeople. Her and the Sheriff's Department didn't start out on the best terms since Mao was worried she was trying to replace them, but they tolerate each other now.

I did have a reference for these guys but idk where it is rn ;-;. Anywway, my most recent OCs and also some of my favorite OCs are Bernard and Pierre, a black bear and polar bear respectively (both use He/Him)! They are both gay and in a healthy relationship & live in a cabin in the forest together. They are just. Two old gay granddads and I love them. Anyway! They both met after an accident which caused Bernard to blow out his left knee and Pierre to lose his left hand; they had been best friends since, and boyfriends later on! Bernard is a baker while Pierre is a wood carver, although they indulge in each other's interests as well. For the most part they just stay in their cabin in the forest, but they leave to buy groceries and sell their products.

And the final OC I'm gonna talk about is Storm Mao (They/Them)! They're from an AU where Mao was born in a litter of five, like his sisters. Ever since Storm were young, they felt like weren't "normal" compared to their siblings. They didn't feel like a girl or a boy. After Mao came out as a trans boy, they began questioning themselves further. Eventually they decided to ask Contacts Sister for help, as she was among the smartest of the Mao children. Contacts explained to Storm that there are people who don't identify as a boy or a girl, and Storm realized they weren't alone. Since then, they started identifying as nonbinary and began using they/them pronouns, and their family supported their decision. Aside from them and Mao, their litter siblings are also LGBTQ+ - Mamoru (He/Him) is AroAce, Bernadette (She/Her) is bi and Zhijun (He/Him) is gay. I'd talk about the AU more in a separate post, if anyone wants me too^ ^;;

Addie & Eddie (Karen/Will)

These two are probably the biggest as I’ve drawn them both and they even have profiles but beyond what’s on those I just have no idea how they fit in with the rest of the Johto cast and have been kinda dreading working with them which is always a bad sign. I’ve had some ideas for new Johto kids so it just felt right to let these two go. Perry can stay since despite being made later he has more development RIP, but I’ll most likely rework the twins into a new fankid so Perry has just one younger sib. Probably taking more after Eddie?

Caleb (Flannery)

He had some development as a friend of Amethyst’s, but not much else. What I did have was pretty outdated, so for now he’s going to be removed from the lists. Once I develop Ame more he might return if I feel like he’ll fit in, but we’ll just have to see.

Eria (Greta/Liza)

She definitely still exists in the background but I’m struggling with her cousins Laelia and Tris as it is so she’s very low priority right now. Will also maybe, likely, be added back once I figure out her Hoenn age group a bit better.

Cassia (Sorrel/Alder --> Sorrel/Lawrence III)

Her melodrama filled origin story was fun but hers is another family with not enough development and she always felt a bit tricky to fit in. She might be later reintroduced as a Sorrel/Lawrence kid however. Either an older or younger sister to Loren.

Fortune (Butler/Diane)

TLDR there are other movie character fankids with much more development than her and I might be making a new Sinnoh movie kid so... as with the others she might return, especially since I love Felix so would want to do something with them as cousins. She definitely exists still in the background.

Lavern & Carola (Toren/Dulse)

Added on a whim because I was in a Dulse mood that’s about it. They have zero development so I’m just going to gently take them back to the drawing board for now. Maybe they’ll get resurrected someday when I actually know what to do with them... I have too many Unova kids anyways.

Chrys (Kiawe/Sophocles)

Zero development and only one in his age range in the region made him just... not fit in. Sorry Kiele you’d be a good big sis but this just isn’t happening right now. Maybe if another younger Alola kid manifests he’ll come back but otherwise probably not.

Art From January 1st, 2021!

Happy New Year everyone 🎇🎆🧨!!!! I started 2021 strong by making eight pieces of artwork today. Most of these are a bunch of drawing plus edits of Hyoubu x Azusa and their daughters, Seraphim and Ophanim (+ my new Zettai Karen Children OC, Sköll).

First drawing is of Hyoubu x Azusa, it’s been awhile since I’ve drawn them to be honest. I got the urge to draw them both on a chess board surrounded by black chess pieces (it represents P.A.N.D.R.A and is a part of the Dark Messiahs of Espers’ aesthetic), especially since chess basically runs proudly in their blood! Also, as you could probably tell, Hyoubu is represented as the King of Chess while Azusa is the Queen of Chess ❤️♟👑💌💍💟💘! Also I worked on another Hyoubu x Azusa edit since it’s been awhile since I’ve edited them into the manga. Azusa is just checking on Hyoubu’s wounds here. Yes, both of them are wearing suits because suit couple solidarity!!!!

Plus I’m showcasing more edits of the Hyoubu x Azusa fankids/daughters, Seraphim and Ophanim! First three are of Seraphim, saying chess catchphrases as usual, while the final one is Ophanim ❤️👑💕💟! Also, her eyes are different in the second edit since Seraphim is using psychometry in order to take control of a tank. Yeah, my daughter can do that 😎. The third edit with Seraphim is her using her spatial awareness due to her being a teleporter and thanks to wearing a specialized smart monocle like Azusa does; it’s enhancing her spatial awareness ability.

Also, the last two drawings have context. The final left drawing is of Queen/Leader of P.A.N.D.R.A and Espers Seraphim Hyoubu; I have an AU for Hyoubu and Azusa’s oldest daughter where she becomes their leader far into the future (2032 to be exact) due to Azusa’s old age and ended up passing down leadership to her daughter. During that period, Seraphim starts wearing the cape that Azusa used to wear during that time frame. Due to Seraphim now being the Leader and Queen of P.A.N.D.R.A; Seraphim goes by Queen of Duelists (and ya know Queen of Espers and P.A.N.D.R.A). In 2032, Seraphim is 36 but due to her anti aging powers she inherited from her father, Kyousuke Hyoubu, she has stopped aging and physically, Seraphim is around 24-26 years old. The name of this AU is Queen of Duelists Seraphim AU but can also be called 2032 AU. During this time, Seraphim is the wife of Sköll Hyoubu (Sköll Wolfensson in current timeline), due to marrying her during Future, and is the adoptive mother of Dadoji Hyoubu (Dadoji is 6 years old during Future/2020 while she is 18 in 2032) who she and Sköll saved during the Future Timeline of ZKC.

The second drawing is of one of my Zettai Karen Children OCs, her name is Sköll Wolfensson (Sköll Hyoubu during Future due to eventually marrying Seraphim Hyoubu). I don’t have a bio on Sköll right now but here is some info on her below:

* Her full name is Sköll Wolfensson. In the Future, she is called Sköll Hyoubu.

* Sköll is a Level 6 multi-powered female esper. She has Electrokinesis, Metamorphosis - can turn into a wolf, Teleportation, and Psychometry.

* Sköll is a supporting character in Zettai Karen Children while a main character in The Unlimited Hyoubu Kyousuke.

* Sköll is the same age as Seraphim and Ophanim (currently 19). Sköll debuts in Elementary Arc (around the time when Black Phantom was being introduced) where she is 14 years old and in Middle School Arc, she is 16.

* Sköll is an executive of P.A.N.D.R.A as of High School Arc, though she is a P.A.N.D.R.A member during the first two arcs.

* Sköll has a sukeban aesthetic as seen with her school uniform and her confident yet delinquent attitude. She incorporates elements from Taisho Era uniforms into her school uniform such as wearing a school cap and a long cape.

* She typically fights with a katana and yo-yo but also uses grenades/handbombs, daggers, and throwing knives. Sköll is also a skilled martial artist, she mainly uses Muay Thai, Krav Maga, Karate, Taekwondo, and Capoeira in combat.

* Sköll occasionally fights with a baseball bat with nails attached to them.

* Sköll stands at 5’2”/157 cm.

* Sköll was born on June 20th, 1996.

* Sköll is biromantic bisexual.

* Sköll is the love interest (girlfriend) of Seraphim Hyoubu and becomes her wife in the Future. In the Future, Sköll and Seraphim becomes the adoptive mothers to a young esper girl named Dadōji Hyoubu.

* As a duo, Sköll and Seraphim are known as The Nogitsune and Sun Devouring Wolf. Sköll later becomes part of Seraphim and Ophanim’s team, Angels of Duelists, and even Foxes of Duelists (team mainly consisting of Azusa, Seraphim, and Ophanim; they play a big role during Future).

* Due to being the love interest of Seraphim, she is seen as a daughter-in-law figure by Kyousuke Hyoubu and Azusa Hyoubu.

* During Future, Sköll is 24 years old. In Queen of Duelists Seraphim/2032 AU, Sköll is 36. In 2048 AU, Sköll is 48.

The sense of rejection she felt caused her to form Legendary Wolf, a delinquent esper gang who often committed crimes such as theft, shoplifting, and violence though mainly did this out of survival and the members were viewed as family members and took in outcasted espers into their group, including esper children. The members also typically called Sköll the Legendary Wolf. Around the time Black Phantom presence began to grow, many espers were targeted and due to this; her gang of espers got kidnapped; with the only sole member left being Sköll who got greatly injured trying to defend them yet backfired. Later being found by Hyoubu, Azusa, and Seraphim; Sköll quickly joined P.A.N.D.R.A who is very ambitious on stopping Black Phantom for their atrocities they commit against espers and to hopefully retrieve her friends from them.

So, I realized that today marks 5 years since I first posted Starting Point to FFN. I made a thread about it on Twitter and felt like i should share it here too!

Starting Point was actually the first fanfiction I had written since middle school. I gave up on anything artsy during my freshman year of high school because of self-confidence issues. But that didn't stop me from loving creating characters and stories anyways. I still worked EXTENSIVELY on fankids, OCs, headcanons, profiles, world-building, etc. with Kelly--even if I mainly took the passenger seat. I wanted to create but was too nervous to try myself. 

I don't really know what it was, but something just PUSHED me to write Starting Point. I just felt some weird urge to do it. I was super nervous about it at first, but luckily my friends were all super supportive and helped me get through it. I think writing Starting Point took me almost a month to complete. There were a few points where I was like, "There's no way I can finish this." But somehow I did. Many thanks to my friends who helped me along the way and reviewed it for edits once it was done. 

Actually, initially, Starting Point was just titled "Down the Line", as suggested by @pkmncoordinators. Eventually, Down the Line just became the title of the series as a whole because of how fitting it was (down the pokeani timeline and the genetic line). To prevent confusion, we changed the title of the one-shot to "Starting Point", since it's the starting point of Skye's rivalry with Lizzie, but also the starting point of the Down the Line series. I don't think we changed it until a few years later, but yeah. 

Truth be told, I was at a pretty bad point in my life when I wrote Starting Point. I don't talk about it much, but I was previously a psych major. I was unhappy, failing all of my classes, and was eventually suspended from school in that same semester that I wrote this fic. However, writing Starting Point, and then going on to write other series like Down the Line and Lock and Key in that same year were what ultimately made me realize enough was enough. I needed to stop trying to be something I wasn't and instead pursue what I loved. 

I loved to write and I loved to create, and writing for Down the Line was what gave me that final push that I needed to know I had to pursue something different. So the following semester I changed my degree to English, excelled in it, and graduated a few years later. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that it may seem kind of silly to invest so much into this universe and these characters, but I think it's so important to me because it's genuinely something that helped change the course of my life for the better. 

If I hadn't taken that step to actually write Starting Point, I dunno if I would have changed majors. I may have stuck with something I hated. I may not have even graduated from college. I genuinely don't know. But what I do know is that spending so many years working on this has made me really happy. It's brought out things in me that I may have never tried before. It's even gotten me drawing again, which is absolutely INSANE considering I quit that over a decade ago.

These characters and this story are one of the most important aspects of my life. Yeah, maybe to some they're just dumb fankids, but to me, they're an integral part of who I am and who I've become. It honestly makes me happy that there are people out there who enjoy them. All of you who have supported us, our characters, our universe, our stupid tweets, memes, art, stories, whatever, is such a mind-blowing thing. I never would have expected people to care enough to draw art of them or include them in their stories. 

To me, it just means that this really personal thing that we've created has had an impact on other people. It means our universe has made other people happy in addition to the happiness it's brought me. I couldn't ask for anything more than that. So, basically, it's been an awesome five years and I know I'll continue doing this for a long time. Please continue to bear with us, and thank you for all of the support you've given us over the years ;-; It really does mean everything... The journey will continue!

Okay, first of all, can I thank you? Actually thank you because these asks? They made me draw the most wholesome things and I just loved it? I felt so happy drawing these, that I forgot all the stress I had from the previous weeks of work?? So yeah, THANK YOU FOR THESE ASKS!

Anyways, I feel like answering these backwards 

So, 16 was answered here for Ro and Tiago. As for Lore and Thibault:

16. do they have any gifts, like singing, dancing, painting, dueling …?

Lore is pretty good at drawing, she’s got a bunch of papers with doodles from classes, when she’s studying, when she’s bored... She usually draws what she sees, so most of them are part of a classroom, a bunch of students playing outside, and they’re all amazing, but she won’t show anyone.

Thibault, like Ro, has a great voice. The diference is that Thibault would love to sing outloud in public, but alas, he’s too shy and anxious to do so. He has a thing for theatre and really gets in the paper, the more diferent the character is from him, the more bizarre it is to see him. He did “Meant to be yours” from Heathers with Ro and to this day she still believes her cousin got possesed by a phsyco or something because man was that freaky.

15. What is their relationship with other fankids? Do they know any?

(Okay, so I don’t interact much with others here, nor I have a discord yet, so...)

It’s already known (I think) that Tiago is roomies with Logan ( @phyl-the-gryffinclaw ), and they’re both good friends. If Tiago is about to get caught and his sister isn’t on sight, he’ll go to Logan because he ain’t no snitch. Logan is nice and quite peaceful, so it’s a mystery why the chaotic kid that Tiago is, is friends with him, but Tiago genuinely enjoys his company and friendship beyond getting a safe scape from trouble.

Tiago easily makes friends, and he likes to, so any kid that speaks to him might end up being in his friend list after two interactions 

As for the ‘three amigos’...

If they’re a prefect, Ro probably knows them, and most probably dilikes them as much as she dislikes being prefect. She might know any gryffindor kids, at least the ones that cause more trouble

Like Ritchie, whom she might, MIGHT, have a bit of a soft spot because he kinda reminds her of Tiago (I drew this not long ago, so he’s blonde and I didn’t change it, sorry @guakamaya )

I think she also knows Dora ( @annevmoreira ) as the shy girl and will take it easier with her.

Thibault remembers most of the kids faces and names, but won’t talk to any of them because poor boy is scared, there’s a chance some of them have said something about his fangs, wether it was an innocent question or a jab to the fact he looks like a vampire or anything else, he will avoid them because he’s had enough bullying and trouble before.

Lore is the worst by far, she’s not a bad person, but boy does she act like a jerk. It’s her own way of dealing with the fact that people might want to “befriend her” to later make fun of her and abandon her. A different aproach than her brother. 

13. How is their relationship with their parents?

Neon made sure her kids had what she didn’t: a home, two parents, a ‘psycho uncle free’ life... They’re a bit chaotic in the parenting department and have made many mistakes, but somehow made it all work. She and Tulip also balance each other out. Neon will spoil them to no end because well, “what is money lol” and Tulip will put a stop to it, while Neon puts base rules and will ground the kids whenever they missbehave, Tulip will probably let them off the hook easier.  They’re pretty chill about stuff, will be open to any sort of trouble the kids have and try to have as much fun with the kids as possible. And they’re also the embarassing parents that are super loud at tournaments and events, will be cheesy in public and they even have a whiteboard at home called “How to embarass our kids in any situation given”

As for Laura and Bastien, they’re the sort of loving parents that are a bit of a mess because they want to do everything perfectly but can’t because they’re people, but even then, in their unperfect household, everything is warm and cozy and the kids get a great home. They try to have as much time together as possible since Laura is the Head Auror in the Magic Congress of Spain (which I had to make up because apparently spain doesn’t have a Ministry of Magic). They’ve always been confortable with PDA, which is an unvoluntary way of embarassing the kids. Overall they’re that very cute family that will plan a vacation, everything that could go wrong will go wrong, and yet they’ll get to have a fun time.

12. How are they in romance?

Alright, so, as Andre says, most students don’t start dating ‘till they’re at least fourth years. So keeping in mind they start to think about it around that time...

Tiago, the very late blooomer won’t be interested in dating in all of his years at Hogwarts. He’s in no rush to date nor try to figure out exactly what is it he likes and is anyways, and his moms are pretty calm about it (there might or might not be a bet in the family about it). Since he’s such a cutie and a nice fun boy, I’m guessing some people will ask him out on dates and stuff, but he’ll always reject them because he wouldn’t be into it and it’d be unfair

(Yes, older Tiago colors his hair like mommy, “My moms say I look very handsome so shut the fuck up!”)

Thibault is a mess. He has a hard time making friends, imagine trying to ask someone out. He’s honestly the sweetest boy and tries to do a ton of fun stuff with whoever he likes. At first he’d be a sweaty, mumbling, stuttering mess, but as he gets comfortable with that someone, he gets calmer and is very easy to talk to. 

Lore, grade A jerk, abrasive, aggresive and crude is an actual sweetheart that will take any lucky girl on the most fun dates ever. She’s flirty, charming and a light tease. She’s up for big romantic gestures, which is a surprise nobody expects. She shows the side only her family knows.

As for Ro.... I.... Oh geez, I don’t know. Should we ask her girlfriend maybe?

Title: Come Out and Play

Most mornings they basked in their silence, tender and warm. 

Neither were morning people; frankly, they’d preferred to spend their mornings lazing in their peace rather than starting their mornings with the rooster coaxing. Fifty-eight years spent coming and going from this charming cottage, weathered and worn like themselves. It has seen battles, from do-it-yourself repair the two embarked on to the occasional child-rearing this summer home met with this; gashes and burnt marks littered the walls, and wobbling table that neither wanted to part with, but like themselves, the house somehow held together and sturdy.

Her hair has gone white, like his. It didn’t hold the youthful volume it once did, cut into a reasonable length and often pulled away from her face. Her face lined, crackled at the corners of her eyes and mouth; her features were rounded out by age, softer but she kept her pride strong. She still got up before him, though his insistence she should stay always pulled her back in, back to his arms. She would sigh and bury her face into his chest, and before long, fall asleep again. Her back had a tweak in it, aching especially at night after they spent the late afternoon pruning and taking care of their garden.

She loved to sit by the large windows their daughter installed for them; it looked out onto the wilderness left untouched by the trading hub down at the base of the Island. She didn’t sketch, but she liked to watch him do so; sometimes he would draw the scenery outside, the way the snow weighed down the pine branches or gentle glow of summertime bloom.

She liked it whenever he drew flowers, partly out of pride as she would say, “I make for a damn good gardener, don’t I?”

He would laugh. Of course, she did, she wasn’t Katelyn if she didn’t dominate whatever she set her heart to.

Sometimes, she didn’t rise first. She would stay in bed, sore and soured in a mood because of her uncooperating body. He would bring her breakfast, brush back her snow-white hair and press a kiss to her temple. He would do the housework himself, while she napped. She would arise later in the day, helping out in the garden or at least helping prepare lunch and dinner, but sometimes she couldn’t make it out of the bedroom; she would stay by her window, thumbing through his sketchbooks, or compose a letter to an old friend that still was alive.

The days he particularly didn’t like was the days she would make him promise things he wanted to instead not think about. She would touch his face, unmarked by age; she would muse over his luck, her fingers finding their way to through his hair, which she matched, and pressed a small kiss to his cheek. He knew this was how she operated. Expect the worse, think about the future, and plan for it. He loved it since on numerous occasions her thinking always balanced out his impulse, but he loathed it too.

“Travis,” she started, her eyes fluttering open. She gave a ghost of a smile, her fingers already comforting as they ran through his hair. He was laying beside her, afraid to leave but also afraid to cling to her; he only got up to fetch some food and water but neglected most of the chores.

Travis swallowed hard, already feeling the fresh wave of tears coming on. He hummed, “Sleepy, it’s almost 6 pm.”

She didn’t respond, and eventually, her fingers stopped. He snuck another glance her way and met with a soft gaze, blue eyes still bright despite the rest of her was dull in color.

“I’m sorry Travis,” her voice was quiet, and she spoke slowly as if it hard. It probably was but knowing her, she was doing her best not to worry him. “Are… are Hughes and Epo… are they arriving?”

“Within the next hour or so. Lucinda is coming too, and Laurance and Vylad are coming later tomorrow.”

She hummed. She shut her eyes again.

When she spoke again, Travis had to lean a little closer to hear her correctly. “Tell them I’m sorry too,” she whispered, and she shuddered. She blinked, but her eyes had to fight to keep open. Her mouth twisted, wetting her lips as she tried to look at him again.

Once upon a time, years ago, she would chuckle at his overly emotional reaction; not in a mean-spirited way, but in her Katelyn way of letting him know that the affectionate he was showing, she felt and understand. She didn’t this time, she couldn’t.

Carefully, he gathered her into his arms. She didn’t scold him for getting tears and properly snot in her hair, as he pressed his lips against the crown of her head.

“I love you. Please know that, you fool,” she started, but then stopped to take a shallow breath. “I’m not choosing to leave you. I love you.”

“I know, I know,” he murmured back, holding her closer. She leaned her head against his chest, eyes still closed. Her breath was growing more shallow by the moment. “Katelyn, there will never be ‘nother like you. Ever.” He pressed another kiss, his tears uselessly being wiped at by the back of his hand before smiling with heartbreak, “I don’t think I can say enough love you, but I do. First love and forever onward.”

She gave a hoarse chuckle, but she didn’t say anything.

Soon, she couldn’t, as the slow rise became none.

He said, soft and quiet, once more: “I love you.”

For the fan kid thingy, can I get a velvetgatto? (Affogato x red velvet)

Finally…after an eternity (about 6 months, which Jesus that’s a long time), he is finished. Zuccotto Cookie

So his name. Zuccotto is basically like an ice cream cake, so a combination of Red Velvet’s cake and Affogato’s ice cream. Also, it’s Italian, like affogato. I vaguely recall the name giving me trouble at first, until I realized cake and ice cream was a valid combination and got this

So I had his design sketched out like a month ago, and I think I recall telling you all that I couldn’t figure out how to make his design work. I had left the design I made and just went and did something else, and then today I was looking for something to draw and I said “yeah the design looks fine, don’t know why I didn’t like it” and just drew that

But also this means that I don’t remember all the reasons for his design details, most notably the staff

I mean, I know I based it off the staffs some of the Cake Monsters have, specifically the Pomegranate shamans or whatever they were called. I also know originally I was trying to make it a spork, but I couldn’t get it to look good, so I switched to the other staff. But I admit, it looks a bit out of place. I mean, I changed some of the colors at the end to match it, but I think it still looks off. But I’m not going through the effort of making a new one, I remember that staff being a pain

Anyways, so I think I was trying to give Zuccotto a style more befitting a shaman, but also with a more modern twist to emulate Red Velvet. I think I did it well

But one thing that was a real struggle was the colors, because I had no clue what to do for them. In my mind he had a black and red color scheme, and that’s how I had it at first, but I was having difficulty with putting the reds next to each other, and I changed some of the colors at the end to match the staff, and I think it worked out fine in the end

I feel like he looks too similar to Affogato, at least without colors (I felt that when I was drawing the sketch). But maybe I just need to take some time away from him and come back to really know. He probably doesn’t look as similar as I think

Also I’m just realizing that considering he’s not made of a food that contains coffee, he probably shouldn’t have dilated pupils, but like, both Red Velvet and Affogato have some form of them, so shhh

Anyways, so let’s move on to him

So Zuccotto is part of the Cookies of Darkness (assuming they stay for a long time and/or there’s a new group), and he’s some sort of Cake Shaman, summoning Cake Monsters to do his bidding. Though he has a great respect for Cakes and see them as equals. He’s not necessarily a bad guy, but he’s very loyal to the Cookies of Darkness and has no inclination to leave, feeling that normal Cookies have no respect for Cakes

I can imagine him playing cards or chess with the Cake Monsters, or at least the ones with hands

Now one of the other main things I have for him is his relationship with Licorice Cream, a darklico fankid I did some time ago, and whom you can see in the sketch (it’s supposed to be a recreation of that Toy Story meme). Basically my idea is that they’re both part of the CoD and they’re this duo within the group. Zuccotto is the straight man that gets dragged along into Licorice Cream’s antics and tries to stay the voice of reason. I said in my head that they have a dynamic similar to Mule and Sonia from Berserk, but also it’s been a while since I’ve read the chapters with them, and my mind may have branched off from that initial dynamic. But basically it’s “weird girl and normal dude who has no clue what she’s on about”. Actually that’s probably not accurate, I just don’t know how to describe Sonia, so sorry to those who haven’t read Berserk and don’t know what I’m talking about

Zuccotto’s also generally the more mature of the two, despite Licorice Cream being older (Zuccotto’s like a teenager while LC is an adult)

I feel like I should have more, but really those are the only two bits I have on him, I don’t think he’s that complicated. But I might have more to say about him when I redo Licorice Cream, since I have a better idea of what to do with her now, and they are rather close

Ren is shameless and only has like one sideblog that he reserves for creative stuff. He posts everything else onto his main blog. He also gushes a lot just lots of keysmashing and talking about how cute I am, and not a lot of analyses just tons of blabbering. He posts all his headcanons on his main blog and frequently tags pictures with our ship name if they remind him of us.

2. Do they prefer selfshipping by inserting themselves into your source, or by daydreaming about you in their own little / personal world, or by imagining you by their side during their daily life?

He definitely daydreams about me in his own little world especially before bed and also imagines me by his side during his daily life. He would probably insert himself into my source as well bc he's not satisfied with where he is in his life. He just wants to do everything.

3. What’s their self insert like? Is their s/i literally them? Is it basically them but with just a few changes - to be more like the person they’d like to be, or to “fit in” your source better? Is their s/i totally OP or extra or more realistic? Is it an OC that’s totally different from them?

His s/i is literally him. He doesn't change parts of himself to fit into my source or to be more like he wants to be because he uses self-shipping as coping and wants me to love him for him.

He's definitely a fandom wiki kind of guy and scours the internet for content. He doesn't need to look at references that much because he has me memorized pretty easily. There are multiple looks I've gone through in "canon" and while he loves all of them and it's hard to remember all of them, he tends to stick with the one that's most currently out in canon because it makes him feel like he's living beside me.

5. Do they create anything inspired by you and/or their ship with you? Fanart? Fanfics? Gifsets? Moodboards? Edits? Songs? Dances? Crafts? Playlists? Cosplays? Do they post them (or pictures of them) online? Do they sell any merch (online, at cons, etc)? Do they make pics of their selfship in dollmakers? Do they spend hours on otp prompt generators? He creates fanart but doesn't draw much anymore and is kind of sad about it because he misses how much he used to draw. Instead he tends to write fic and create songs and playlists. He posts his music and stuff online on his sideblog for creative stuff and doesn't sell merch when he goes to cons. Because he doesn't draw as much anymore he LOVES making us in dollmakers and picrews. He also commissions a shit ton of art for his selfship and is completely shameless about it.

6. Does your f/o have a selfship wedding with you? Do they celebrate it on their blog or more privately, with their fellow selfshipper friends? Do they make any content (like art, fics, etc) to celebrate?

He wrote a song to propose with and is waiting for anime canon to catch up to his favorite part from the manga before posting it and making a huge deal about it. When he does have the wedding he commissions a really extravagant wedding picture and has it framed and put in his room.

7. Does your f/o have fankids with you? If not, maybe pets?

We own a dog and he wants to have kids when we get married so he can cope with his anxieties of being a bad father.

Oh god lmao. So like I was doing this for Ren, but imagining everyone in a discord server is killing me!!! Vincent would do nothing but post porn gifs and be an absolute butt and laugh at people all the time and Jack would like never talk in it except to post the occasional psychological profile of me and talk about how interesting I am every once in a blue moon. Gengar would just cry type all the time. Craig would shitpost with memes and laugh at people because he’s a dick and not actually into self-shipping and Shino would analyze EVERYTHING from the show. The people who would gush and talk the most would be Ren and Omen ;w; Ren would share his music and Omen would think it's all very interesting. Omen might even develop a crush because Ren is so interesting and Ren would be completely oblivious bc he’s guzzling that self-ship juice lmao.

Ren likes the ship name Rae and uses that irl, but he likes to do the fun creative ones in order to tag stuff. He uses "Little Star" for it.

11. What’s your f/o like when they read / watch / play your source? Do they reread / rewatch / replay their favorite parts over and over? Do they make comments aloud? Which parts of your story made them laugh? Made them cry?

Ren gets really happy when he watches the anime because it's very relaxing. He watches his favorite parts over and over and over again until he can say the dialogue by heart. He doesn't make comments aloud but he gets super emotionally invested. His favorite parts that make him laugh are when I say goofy or dumb things and then comment on the irony and break the 4th wall. The parts that make him cry the most are any time I get hurt and start crying. When I got bullied or felt bad with my classmates or was hurt when I was very young. All of those hurt him a lot and he cried about it.

12. Do they post any videos related to your source? Like AMVs? Or reaction vids (with them reacting to your source as they read / watch / play / etc)? If your source is a game, do they make a walkthrough? Is it a perfect walkthrough, a more casual one?

He would like to make AMVs but doesn't really have editing software for it, but wants to learn! He wants to post reaction vids but is nervous about posting his face online for...reasons. lmao

Ren would definitely call himself my biggest fan. He wouldn't use husband but he'd definitely use fanboy.

He has a plush that he cuddles and sleeps with and sometimes makes out with lmao. He also has so much merch!!! He is the type to make ita content. On Christmas he decorates the tree with stuff and has posters all over the walls. His favorites tho are figures. He looooooooves figures the most. He's constantly shelling out the big bucks for the biggest and most detailed ones because he can look at them and feel like I exist in a 3d space.

-rubs hands together- His favorite content is hurt/comfort both with me being hurt and me hurting the other party, depending on his mood. When he gets unstable and lonely he plays out angsty situations to further his spirals. He knows it's unhealthy, but it comforts him at the same time. His favorite when he's feeling like being healthier is making irl AUs where he can play out his trauma with me as a caretaker figure or alongside him and comforting me.

Ren definitely hoards a lot of shit on his phone, he has so much content of me on it it's ridiculous. Omen kind of does the same but not nearly as much because he has multiple f/os and has to share space with them lmao. Vincent's phone is just filled with porn ok just lots of rule 34 shit but he also like doesn't have a lot of content on it because like he's just a horndog and only really gives a shit about the dirty content.
