had a little fun and played with some fashion deisgn for 2 certain bois. Crosshairs and Blackout are my favorites of each faction in the bayverse. it was especially fun designing them for each occasion.

from left to right, first is their casual, then you got their human jobs (BLackout is a specilised Helicopter Pilot, Crosshairs is a weapons designer/Engineer), going out to places like a party, pub, or club, and then formal attire.

i had to take in account their culutral backgrounds and what the climate would be like and what they're use to.

My human Blackout Comes from Sparti/Sparta. so he would be use to a hotter environment. in his work uniform, he's all zipped up as he's not use to the cold of the altitude he flies to and because he usually is in hotter places. so he has less layers. also, greeks tend to dress smart casual so even in the clubbing attire he tries to aim for that ball park. he's not exactly dressed for the club or pub but still is out of that smart casual. My Crosshairs on the other hand strikes me as a punk who moved from a small town in Wales to Cardiff for work. so he's layered up as he would be more use to the cold. but his work would have him near machinery that runs hot so he's not very layered in his uniform. with the clubbing attire, he strikes me as someone who dresses in the UK punk style and embraces the culture and where it stands. he's got the flags of him, his wife (Loco Motion), and his two cousins (Fuselage and Roadbuster) as well as the autism red infinty symbol, enamle of the welsh red dragon, and the bisexuality pin. i dressed him like a guy you'd find in UK punk clubs just laughing at the bar and yapping. formal attire was a bit tricky for him because... well it's Crosshairs. but i still found a way to make it him

I actually have a very clear knowledge of why Bella Ramsey is getting criticism for not looking like Ellie.

I used to spend a lot of time on male gamer spaces, like the parts of reddit everyone makes fun of now, and a lot of thr reasons for the attitude towards Ellie is actually very gross.

See, none of the actors who voiced and did motion capture for the game were really deisgned after the actors. Like Joel looks and sounds nothing like his actor, beacuse they wanted a unique individual design.

But that is a problem when it comes to Ellie. Problem 1 is that Ellie isnt voiced like her age. This isnt criticism of Ashley Johnson, since this should have been a director decison, but sounds like an adult. Ellie trying to act like an adult while being voiced by an adult makes her feel more mature.

Part of it also ia her deisgn, and ive always felt this way before reddit got weird about it. Ellie's character design is more mature for the age shes supposed to be. The comparison to Eliot Page at the time was beacuse she looked like he did at the time of the games release, Ellie looks not like a younger teenager.

So a lot of male fans were attracted to her. They will deny it now, but I was there and saw it all. They are defensive of Ellies casting beacuse the Ellie they like looks and sounds old enough that they can feel safely attracted to her.

Bella Ramsey on the otherhand, looks her age. She sounds her age. Her as Ellie is undeniably a child still, and you cannot justify sexualizing that without some very obvious implications.

These gamer bros cannot sexualize Bella Ramsey beacuse shes very obviously not an adult and they can no longer just ignore the characters age, and therefore they are mad about it.

The criticism for Pedro is easy though, thats just racism and its laughabe how see through racist any argument about his casting is.

Ellie though? Ive watched a lot of very disusting attitudes towards her character and these same people are mad that they cant find justification to sexualize a real life minor. They wont say that, especially now that a child is literally in the role and that will paint them in a very specificly bad light, but Im not fooled.

They want to still watch the show and sexualize Ellie but now they can't and they are making up reasons to be mad in order to hide the real reason behind the anger.

Having had my fill of gamer boys, I can 100% understand this.

It must be very hard having such a righteous self-image. The amount of anger and denial they have to have to inflict in order to maintain their own illusion.

Bella was one of my very favorite parts of GOT. Small role, but she HELD it. I remember being in awe. I was ecstatic when she was announced, literally on par with being excited that Pedro was playing Joel.

My SO loves the game and actually thought she was an amazing choice. He wasn't sold on Pedro though...he couldn't imagine it because he'd only seen Pedro being slimy (WW84) and beleaguered (Mandalorian). Then I showed him Prospect and he was like oh yeah, I get it now.

Anyway. Gross peeps gonna gross, then double down on more gross.
