Harry Styles is set to tackle his first leading role in My Policeman, sharing the screen with Peaky Blinders' David Dawson and The Crown's Emma Corrin in an adaptation of Bethan Roberts' book of the same name.

The drama, which will release on Prime Video on November 4 following a limited run in cinemas, is set to feature two timelines. Predominantly, it'll be set in 1950s Brighton, where copper Tom Burgess (Styles) strikes up a romance with teacher Marion (Corrin). Their relationship proves conflicting for Tom, however, due to his affections for museum curator Patrick (Dawson).

In the latest Total Film magazine(opens in new tab), director Michael Grandage reflected on casting the trio, and how it was always a given that their more mature counterparts would be played by different actors. Below, you can check out an exclusive new image of the younger threesome in My Policeman, as featured in the new issue.

In it, Tom, Marion, and Patrick, all dolled up, can be seen entering a swanky venue. Judging by the happy looks on their faces, they're attending some sort of fancy soirée – but given the complicated nature of their relationships, the smiles aren't likely to last.

In the 1990s, trinity are brought to life by Linus Roache, Gina McKee, and Rupert Everett, as their lives become intertwined once again when grown-up Patrick suffers a stroke.

"What is fascinating is, it never, ever came up," Grandage tells Teasers, when we ask if age make-up or digital trickery was considered for the characters' older selves. "It was always clearly written for the idea of two very separate periods of time. And what's fascinating to me is that I couldn't even have conceived [doing it another way], because I don't think we are the same person 40 years later. I'm certainly not. [The film] tries to really investigate how we go on emotional, intellectual journeys over 40 years.

For Grandage, it was essential that the film proved as informative as it did moving – illuminating what it meant to have lived during a time when being gay was not only socially frowned upon but actually illegal. "Particularly in the current climate, now that we know what may happen in America, in the light of Roe v Wade being overturned..." says Grandage. "I think there is a danger for the first time in my life that we could now be going back a little, and this film comes at a point where I think it can be quite educative."

Okay, first off, I love that Sooyoung isn't even calling for people who want to stop the Nameless Mist just because it's, ya know, bad or dangerous or anything like that. Nope. She's calling for people who care for Kim Dokja.

Secondly, Mass Production Maker! And Breaking the Sky Sword Saint! And Yoo Hoseong! And Jang Hayoung! And 'Prisoner of the Golden Headband'!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhh!

I actually completely forgive Prisoner of the Golden Headband for constantly scoffing at Dokja's prior requests for help because his big entrance was so worth waiting for.

Jang Hayoung extended her hand out and the world's heaviest staff found itself in her grip in the next moment. Boundlessly arrogant and aloof eyes glared at the azure sky, and every cloud in the world trembled all at the same time. [Go and rescue Kim Dokja.] Those words were not spoken by Jang Hayoung. [Constellation, 'Prisoner of the Golden Headband', has incarnated into the scenario!]

And he's focused on rescuing Dokja too! Ahhhhhhh!

Sooyoung called out for all of Dokja's friends and they freaking showed up. Look at all these giant names who care so much about this itty bitty baby Constellation.

Which is a little worrying actually because I swear this feels like some kind of big finale...but we still have 30% of the novel left???

I can only imagine that it's all going to come together for the big "Twist" that keeps getting mentioned, as well as Dokja's new Modifier and his Myth-grade story that's germinating. lmao his new name should be Loved and Hated In Equal Measure or something because everyone seems to either immediately adore him and are willing to cut down literal mountains to help him...or they absolutely detest him with every fiber of their being. 😂

Though...even the ones who detest him sometimes come around...

Watched this friday’s episode! Here’s my brief commentary on it (keeping it under the cut bc spoilers):

I’m sure that most of the people who have seen this episode agree with me that this can’t be the last we saw of TRio. It just would not fit at all. Even if they did actually end up going their separate ways (again, which is /highly/ doubt. TRio belongs together, full stop, and the writing team knows that too) I’d like to think that we would at v least see glimpses of what they were doing/where they went after the separation, but instead this episode cut to other stuff immediately after their argument. So there’s just no way that won’t still be resolved. Anyway, Latias finally showed herself and looks like Hunter J’s long lost brother is taking over in the next episode, it’s been a while since we’ve had some actual drama in pokeani so I’m kind of looking forward to that. (but WHAT DO YOU MEAN 2 EPISODES LEFT??????? That’s not ok)

Other than the episode ending rather abruptly, I actually found some of the stuff (such as, James teaching Mime jr to do puppy eyes and Brock’s paradise scene) kinda fun and it could have been an enjoyable episode if it weren’t for the weird ending. But guess we’ll have to stay tuned to see what really will happen.

Ps. even though not every mon of tr’s was ‘physically’ present in this ep, I was glad that at least we got a lil montage of them. Even though /MAMA/ was missing. How dare.

obviously it is just like. a missed opportunity at this point so idk why I Need to post abt it but I do. bc I honestly hoped with all my heart that SV / more specifically Penny was like. THE opportunity to introduce new eeveelutions.

so FIRST with the eevee backpack, I thought it would have been soo amazing if there was a normal type eeveelution just called eeveeon (not my original idea, someone posted this I will go find the post)

AND second between the dragon tamers all over Paldea and Penny having the blue/red hair I was really really hoping that we could finally have a dragon type eeveelution (whch to me makes logical sense after the introduction of sylveon).

I desperately want to see the other eeveelutions and in my bones I feel that they exist already like tPCI has them like locked up in a super secret vault and refuses to release them.

And I feel that Paldea would have been a splendid environment for most of the unreleased eeveelutions.

I do have one in particular that I care way too much about how it could be revealed and oddly enough it is not one of my most favourite types so if you know me and you're thinking bug or flying or steel you may be surprised (like lbr iwant those too, but. differently). the one I care the most about is a poison type eeveelution. and I know with the MPM sendoff series seems to say goodbye to Team Rocket not just to Ash and so my dear treasured hc will never ever happen but. here it is.

I want the first ever poison-type eeveelution to happen because of Jessie. I think it might have to be its own post but yeah. the first ever poison-type eeveelution should evolve because of Jessie.

But tbh soo many of the unreleased eeveelutions would just. make SENSE in Paldea (mild spoilers if you haven't played the game) but the many areas with the ruins would be perfect places to encounter a ghost-type, the many caves would be ideal for either rock-types or ground-types (depending on how deep into the cave you went maybe?) if you went to all the sights of Paldea in order and then went to the tallest peak and you had an eevee as the lead in your party the whole time you could encounter a flying-type or something. after your second battle with Katy you could have gone down into her bakery and met her bug-type eeveelution who is her bakery buddy who Does Not Battle because it is a sweetie who just naps in her bakery all day. just. aahhggg. soo many missed opportunities I feel. and I'm still grumpy about it.

It's not the worst loss of the game of course, I am still really mad on behalf of everyone who worked on that game and who poured so much love and dedication into it only to have crunch culture and a waayy too early released date effectively destroy everything that they were trying to accomplish.

Please?" and how can he resist your quietly pleading eyes. he's been on set before visiting you when you're turning another one of your books into a movie, but he can't believe that he's going to be one of the lead actors in it, he loves the story so much, but he loves you more and he wants to do you and the story you wrote so proud 🥹 and obviously, there's headlines about how he's finding love on set with one of his co-stars and potentially leaving you for dust, but he quickly puts that to rest when he shares a black and white picture of you two kissing after a day on set with the caption "My Only Leading One, Always." and he can't help but beam and blush with pride when you're doing behind the scenes featurettes and interviews and you're telling people about how wonderful it was to write for him and direct him in a few scenes and seeing him blossom and bring the story to life with his amazing costars and no, you didn't hire him because he's your man, he just perfectly fit the "you're going to make a wonderful portrait, quite wonderful" quote and all the other quotes made about Tom's beauty and how you knew he had the talent to bring Tom to life" 🥰

I focused on the blurry images of the battlefield that could be seen from the Gate. And then… "What the f…?" …I immediately issued a new order to advance. I remembered that those who purchased a brand-new [Ferrarghini] received this on a first-come-first-served basis. I can still vividly recall the conversation I had with the 'Mass Production Maker' back then.

Or someone he knows (and who is willing to help both him and Dokja) can see it.

First we had that whole oddly relevant conversation with Dokja about the wrong road, and now not only was he waiting to immediately jump in and tell Dokja to go to the other gate, but it just so happens that the very strange promotional item he gave to Dokja a while back has the exact healing effect needed to save Joonghyuk. Hmmm.

The former can be excused as him being an ally who’s closely watching the battle (though strange that he’s the only one who said anything but maybe Dokja’s other regulars are distracted or even actively involved in the battle itself) but the latter is so suspicious.
