hello everyone!!! just finished the 540 card phyrexian cube draft environment ive been building for the last few days :3 i havent played with it yet, ive just been hyperfixating on phyrexia for the last week or so and this is the fruit of that. if anyone has any recommendations or wants to share with me draft results in it that would be great <3 otherwise look at it and draft in it if youd like! im pretty happy with it :3

Magic the Gathering idea: form a pod of at least four people. For each person in the pod, the remaining players agree on what commander to assign them. Each player builds an EDH deck around their assigned commander.

To allow for low budgets, fast turn around, and the casual format, you’d encourage proxying cards. Alternatively, limit each player to a certain number of proxies as a way to cap the power level (although this is predicated on everyone having a single collection to draw from for deck construction or everyone having a collection that’s about the same power level)

I think this could be fun! Kind of a mix between cube, commander draft, and a group wide deck tech challenge? That’s the idea at least.

My Ravnica Limited Cube

I created a Cube for me and my friends to play limited with when we get together. Because it's limited, I built it with six packs for 8 players in mind, so it's 800 cards!

[Also, the packs contain 16 cards with 1 Rare / Mythic, 4 Uncommons, 10 Commons, and 1 Land]

I've been steadily tinkering with it, making it less shit. It'll never be perfect, but it's an excuse to play cards with my friends.

It's mainly based on Return to Ravnica with cards from the other Ravnica blocks, plus like 50 cards from other planes to fill in some spots.

It's my treasure. It represents the good times I have of my friends.

Magic 2010

White: Palace Guard

Mostly adding because its a nice defensive bonus, Solemn Offering is the honorable mention.

Blue: Divination

Not much to add, its a nice card draw effect. HM is Alluring Siren.

Black: Disentomb

HM is Doom Blade. Most of the cards are kinda eh here tbh.

Red: Burning Inquiry

HM is Act of Treason. Same as black, nothing much to add here.

Green: Mold Adder

This card gives some nice potential aggro and goes great against enemy colors. Acidic Slime is a very close HM though.

Wildcard: Gorgon Flail

Not many options for a wildcard here so I dont have an honorable mention.

One challenge of making an un-cube is that there just aren't that many cards to choose from, and a lot of the mechanics are rather parasitic and need a lot of support to be viable. Contraptions and Attractions are extreme versions of this, each requiring their own decks. This ruleset is intended to be used when drafting Unstable and Unfinity together, and will allow some cards from each archetype to support each other while still hopefully keeping them distinct.

Lineage Cube 4.0 Release

After a long hiatus and a total data loss, the Lineage Cube is back and better than ever! Formerly Cube Legacy, it has been renamed because it has nothing to do with the Legacy format. No, this cube incorporates mechanics from games like Risk Legacy and Pandemic Legacy. Edit cards as you draft! The downloads below can get you started on your very own Lineage Cube!

This update has a bunch of new fun goodies:

Quests. Now fully formed. You can complete quests during draft that unlock new draft packs. These take the cube in major new directions!

Lorwyn Draft Pack. Add tribal themes to your cube, of any tribe you want! Choose iconic abilities for tribes to tie them together. RW double striking knights? Why not go weirder with UG Cephalid clone tribal?

Esper Draft Pack. Add artifact themes to your cube. Create tons of artifact tokens and equipments. Coat your cube in etherium

Theros Draft Pack. Add enchantment themes to your cube. Auras, bestow, heroic, and constellation all make appearances. Craft your own Sagas.

Number Modification. Modify any number on a card. Turn "Draw a card" into "Draw 7 cards". Or get weirder with conditional numbers. Turn "Deal 3 damage" into "Deal X damage, where X is the number of spells you've cast this turn"

I am going to keep my eyes peeled for Yidaro in future drafts of my friend's multiplayer cube. I have drafted him twice now, and the card has always performed really well. Yidaro provided me the burst damage I needed to win me the first game where I drafted him. In another draft round, an opponent even kindly put my Yidaro on the field for me with Guild Feud. That was hilarious. Even more hilarious was that that actually happened twice. He only ever targeted me with its effect twice, but hit Yidaro each time.

Sadly, I did not win any games in my second Yidaro draft, though the last game was super close. Things actually seemed to align perfectly - my deck's plan was to survive long enough until there was only me and one other opponent, and then surprise kill them with the most boring (but effective) combo imaginable - Yidaro + Unleash Fury (don't judge me too harshly, I mostly drafted interaction and needed to scrounge together a wincon somehow). I was in that exact situation, he was even empty-handed, but he had a lot of blockers and ended up surviving with one life. Had I not made a slight blunder earlier, I would not have been a mana short and could have killed him by casting Hellish Rebuke - his first strike damage was not enough to kill me, but the rest of it was.

While the specifics of how his cube works makes it a lot easier to cycle Yidaro multiple times in a game than you would think, I kind of doubt that I will ever manage to put him on the field by cycling him. A seven mana 8/8 haste trampler is just a good surprise attacker. Though the cycling is useful - since I like using him as a finisher, he is just dead weight in my hand in the early game, and by shuffling himself, I know I'll eventually draw into him.

Building a cube and I’ve been dabbling with it not being singleton for about a month. I just cut some copies and added in different cards with the physical cube in front of me but I somehow added 5 extra cards on Cube Cobra and I can’t figure out what they are. Why did I decide to do this today?!?!?!
