LOL ok au where anakin is turned into a cat but everyone just thinks he’s at Padmé’s for a vacation and doesn’t realize he’s in a predicament….meanwhile obi-wan finds a cat outside his rooms and enters his cat lady era quite cheerfully, he starts absolutely doting on this cat cause it’s nice to take care of something again and this cat is sooooo affectionate

then Ahsoka comes back from a solo mission and she realizes the cat is anakin cause they still have their training bond in place and she’s like master what are you doing we need to figure out how to change you back let’s tell the council

and anakin who is curled up on obi-wan’s lap receiving amazing head scratches and the occasional forehead kissy is like “hmmmm no I’m good”

so ahsokas gotta pretend that she’s texting anakin and she’s like “hey master obi-wan, hypothetically speaking would you give anakin head scratches and forehead kisses if he uhhh came back from Padme’s rn”

and obi-wan is like no of course not

and anakitty is like see! better like this 😌 cat forever 🥰

Finished Reading Padawan

These are just some little facts/snippets throughout the book I really liked, really along the lines of temple life.

Obi-Wan tugs on his padawan braid when he is anxious

Bolla Ropal (the Jedi that was killed guarding the holocron in TCW) was Obi-Wan's childhood frienemy. The two played pranks on each other.

Obi-Wan paces outside Qui-Gon's chamber doors as he's trying to figure out what to say what he needs to.

Obi-Wan feels most at peace, most calm, when he is practicing lightsaber forms and says he could do it all day and never bore of it.

Jedi specialize in certain fields, such as communication with animals, and if such a conflict arises based in that Jedi's field, they are sent to help

Jedi who are ready to take have a padawan meditate and the force guides them to who they're meant to train, leading to shared interests.

The temple has several dining halls. There is a padawan meal hall and therefore one for the other ranks. They offer such a variety of food Obi-Wan said one could always find something new to try. And I could've made this up but I'm also pretty sure they said the dining hall for padawans was almost always open, so one was always be able to get a meal.

Some Jedi Masters put a table and chairs in their rooms so they can share a meal with their padawan in their personal space

Qui-Gon doesn't even have an extra chair in his room.

Ships can be requested/reserved down in the hangar. A padawan is allowed to do this without approval from their master (Obi-Wan is told by Qui-Gon to do do but is not directly confronted when he does it alone).

Talking and communicating with animals is actually one of the harder skills to learn and master as a Jedi, so many opt not to. Meaning Ezra's ability to communicate with animals as well as he does is not something all Jedi could do, especially for his age

Nautolans, can live outside of water (we do know this) but since they are an aquatic species, there is a constant strain on their gills and results in them being in pain if out of water for too long.

Obi-Wan thinks Kit Fisto is really strong, he notes Fisto does not seem to be affected by this.

Obi-Wan notes some of his padawan friends have dabbled in physical relationships. But he sees it has an obstacle not as a temptation, feeling that, kissing for example, was a betrayal of himself and the Jedi. He wonders if he'd ever get to a point where it does not feel like that.

Honestly this book was a really cute read and the planet it takes place on was very captivating. I really liked how Kirsten White writes Qui-Gon too and her references that any prequel fan would love catching.

honestly even if you don’t ship obikin, which is fine, you have to understand that anakin is obiwan’s BEST FRIEND. Not quinlan, not Cody, not satine. It’s ANAKIN!!! They are two halves of a whole warrior. Master and apprentice. They’re besties. Even if your reading of them isn’t romantic, if you try to say that obiwan held anyone else, or any other friend, higher or closer to his heart… you fundamentally misunderstand him and the way he sees himself in relation to others

One of my dearest and most long-held obianidala headcanons is simply this; that Anakin Skywalker and Padme Amidala are absolutely feral about Obi Wan Kenobi.

Think this through. On their own, Anakin and Padme are the impulsive, not-so-closeted-romantic, all-in, ride-or-die, obsessed-beyond-the-point-of-mental-stability type. They are not the most rational people when it comes to matters of love - Padme is a little more lowkey about it, but she is just as bad as Anakin - she had a full on gown prepared for their secret only-attended-by-droids wedding. Unhinged behaviour.

So all that energy, times two, directed at Obi Wan, who frankly does not value himself enough? (read: at all)

Oh, you don’t think that Obi Wan is objectively the most attractive, smartest, most morally upright person in the galaxy? Buckle the fuck up, Padme has a speech prepared. Anakin has made an accompanying powerpoint - with pictures and animations.

If Obi Wan is sad? They’re making it better, or else. Obi Wan has been running himself ragged? Oh look! Senator Amidala and Knight Skywalker have just manhandled him onto a cruiser for a week in Naboo - very serious Political Business - no they can’t be reached, no not even by the Council, k bye.

Oh wait, someone has kidnapped Obi Wan? Anakin and Padme are going after him, immediately. No they aren’t waiting for backup, why would they do that? Obi Wan has been hurt? Just give Anakin and Padme names - it’s fine, I promise they just want to talk.

Feral. Absolutely feral. Not an ounce of restraint or moderation between them.

Meanwhile Obi Wan is just perpetually all ���I’m so sorry, they don’t mean it, they aren’t usually like this I swear-”

ok but listen. i know hes too stubborn and independent as a knight but im a SUCKER for 19 yr. old padawan anakin who’s entirely devoted to his master. obiwan who can do no wrong, he wants to level mountains for this man, he’ll follow his every order sloppily but he’ll do it with enthusiasm. i just love enthusiastic obsessed anakin and strict but doting obiwan. LIKE in so many ways, he’s practicing his forms in a class and obiwan publicly keeps reprimanding him, keeps correcting and is strict on him and when anakin gets frustrated and says his master is biased and only hard on him, obiwan says its because he’s the only one in the room worth paying any attention to. obiwan giving anakin strict orders on how to take him, and anakin is so good at following them until his master edges him for so long that he completely snaps and takes him hard and fast and sloppy and obiwan WANTS to be mad but he just cant be. anakin apologizes profusely after but obiwan is too sore to move.

i need more anakin putting his hair into some variation of a bun and obi-wan, mid sentence, just kinda trails off into stunned silence. i need him to be absolutely tackled with emotion about anakin’s prettiness. i need him to look silly goofy in love and overwhelmed bcos his best friend got hot and that wasn’t part of the plan and why is he realizing that mid-preparation in front of ahsoka and rex and cody. i need his entire hand to twitch to tuck the lil curls in anakin’s hair behind his ears!!!!!

one of the pieces of anakin's fall that everyone always misses is his use of the clones. anakin skywalker, who at 9 wanted to become a jedi. who was so haunted by guilt that he left his mother a slave. who violated the jedi code because he couldnt bear to spend another night not knowing his mother was safe. that anakin. that anakin was ok leading the clones to war. the clones who were made for this, made to work and toil and die without end, so the natborns could live peacefully.

i think if anakin wasnt reeling from the death of his mother and hadnt started slipping to the dark side already he wouldn't have agreed with the use of the clones. i think he would see himself in them - forever scorned, subhuman for the circumstances of their birth, desperately trying to rise above the fact that everyone they've ever met only has an interest in leashing them. so anakin being a general and agreeing to lead the clones is much more sinister than it seems at first blush.

the jedi order agreeing to lead the clones is its own egregious violation of the jedi code. theyre peacekeepers, not generals. they fight individually or in pairs, not in coordinated attacks (see geonosis). everything about them is not meant for violence, but for protection. but for the jedi to lead the clones to be anakin - it's even worse. the jedi know slavery is bad, but they do not expend resources trying to end it - for political reasons ofc, they themselves are at the whims of the republic - but anakin has Lived it. he is more like the clones than any other jedi, which makes his leading them all the more painful and heartwrenching and sick

oh oh oh au where anakin and obi-wan are both generals of the rebellion and anakin escorts senator bail and queen breha back to Alderaan after a covert Resistance meeting on the request of General Kenobi because he’s the best flyer in the Rebellion and they need to sneak them back into Alderaan so the empire doesn’t know….

Only for the rebellion to get the news that the Death Star has destroyed Alderaan. No word from General Skywalker. It must be assumed that he died with the planet.

Obi-Wan refuses to believe it, even as the days pass with no signal from Anakin. But he can’t believe his old padawan is dead….and he can’t believe he’d sent him to his death either.

(Anakin is alive, but he had to go undercover as an Imperial to leave the planet in time and hasn’t been able to contact Obi-Wan, but surely Obi-Wan knows it’ll take more than a Death Star to kill him!!)

(Obi-Wan doesn’t know this)

(Their reunion involves Obi-Wan maybe toppling him into the dust in a hug and then punching him when Anakin makes a Hardeen joke about it all)
