I would like to try to reach the El Mulhacén summit tomorrow in one day. It’s the highest mountain in the ibérique peninsula! Today I’m resting well and tomorrow I hope to be fit enough for the ascent. 🤞🏼⛰

I was just looking to see if today is a special day in any way, and here is what I found... Data Protection Day 😂 It made me laugh at first but then I realised how important a topic this is in the era of social media and digital world. It is more relevant to all of us than we may think. ::: One aspect of it is something I’m sure a lot of us have faced a number of times.... and that is cold calling. I think I could be a millionaire by now if I was to receive all the compensation promised by law firms that keep on calling me about my recent car accident. But let me make it clear... I’ve never even owned a car in my life and I never really had a car accident! Surely this should be illegal. Do you face similar calls? How do you deal with them? ::: #spain #spain🇪🇸 #spaintravel #mulhacen #mulhacén #sierranevada #hiking #dataprotection #dataprivacy #hiszpania #hiszpania🇪🇸 #españa #españa🇪🇸 #espana🇪🇸 (at Mulhacén) https://www.instagram.com/p/B725Gy-HRp5/?igshid=qkucbb8tggtn

The ‘Natives‘ of Santa Granada
Anyone who is anyone will have heard of the infamous Jaws MacTaggart’s secret base on the tropical planet of Santa Granada. Of course, Jaws and the crew of the Stellar Typhoon aren’t the only inhabitants of the planet by a long shot, for Santa Granada has its own native population. Actually, native is a bit of a misnomer, as these people are in fact descendants of the crew and passengers of a colony ship that crash-landed on the planet many centures ago. In the intervening years, their modern knowledge has degraded with each generation, to the point that the tribal societies currently living there have no knowledge of their spacefaring roots at all.
Of the various tribes living on the planet, the most prominent are the three occupying the Ciesulino Islands. The three respective leaders and their assistants are as follows:
***
Tumblr media
LORD DIABLO - Leader of the Children of Vulpokano, who occupy the eastern Islands. As short-tempered as he is short-statured, Diablo’s main task is to lead his people in the appeasement of the Fire Goddess Vulpokano, whose spirit is said to control the massive volcano which dominates the eastern Islands. Unfortunately, this tends to mean throwing a virgin sacrifice into the volcano itself. Red Fox.
Tumblr media
LADY JUVELO - Wife and assistant to Lord Diablo (not that marriage seems to mean much to these tribal societies). Physically taller, ganglier, and more cool-headed than her husband, Juvelo is arguably the real brains of the Children of Vulpokano, being the one to actually put Diablo’s orders into practice. She was actually born to the Children of Tofino (see below), but was gifted to Diablo as part of an arranged marriage between the two (that is, she arranged it). Red Fox.
Tumblr media
LORD JAVIER - Leader of the Children of Tofino, who occupy the western Islands. Much more laid-back and relaxed in his ruling over his domain, and much more likely to get stuck in and help his people with their work. Like all in his community of beavers and otters, Javier is a born surfer, and can often be found miles out to sea, indulging in his craft. Sometimes he combines this with the art of trawling, using his special tail piercing to drag a fishing net behind him. Otter.
Tumblr media
FLORIANA - One of the many Children of Tofino, and also one of Lord Javier’s handmaidens. She’s frequently employed in those tasks that Javier cannot or will not do for himself. As he’s still sprightly and young himself, and always willing to do his share of the work, Floriana’s own work tends to amount to little more than the arduous or dangerous stuff. Thus she spends most of her time either trawling out at sea with her special tail piercing, practicing her surfing, or looking after her little pup, nicknamed Jojo. Otter.
Tumblr media
‘KING‘ JOHANO - The self-proclaimed ruler of the Children of Mulhacén, who currently occupy the inhospitable northern fringes of the islands. Johano and his band of marsupial followers were banished there after they resorted to cannibalism as a solution to a drastic food shortage. He vows to get his revenge on Lord Diablo, whose tribe he was originally part of. These days, though, he bides his time by making a meal out of any unfortunate soul who happens to wander too close to his camp. Kangaroo.
Tumblr media
‘PRINCESS‘ KALJA - Stepdaughter, assistant and protege to King Johano (though her claim to nobility is equally disputed). Originally born into the Children of Vulpokano, her parents were among the victims of Johano’s initial turn to cannibalism. In the course of his subsequent banishment, Kalja was among those kidnapped in the hopes that she could be enlightened to Johano’s barbaric practices. Having no children of his own, Johano took a young Kalja under his wing, and is currently grooming her to take his place as ruler of the Children of Mulhacén when he inevitably passes on (hopefully of natural causes). Red Fox.

Sierra Nevada, Spain (No. 1)
Sierra Nevada (meaning "mountain range covered in snow") is a mountain range in the region of Andalucia, in the province of Granada and, a little further, Málaga and Almería in Spain. It contains the highest point of continental Spain: Mulhacén, at 3,479 metres (11,414 ft) above sea level.
It is a popular tourist destination, as its high peaks make skiing possible in one of Europe's most southerly ski resorts, in an area along the Mediterranean Sea predominantly known for its warm temperatures and abundant sunshine. At its foothills is found the city of Granada and, a little further, Almería and Málaga.
Parts of the range have been included in the Sierra Nevada National Park. The range has also been declared a biosphere reserve. The Sierra Nevada Observatory and the IRAM radiotelescope are located on the northern slopes at an elevation of 2,800 metres (9,200 ft).
