I returned to FEH in time for the Fomortiis/Gotoh double banner and can I just say...dear artist who drew Fomortiis, you deserve a raise. My unhinged simp thoughts below:

So I am a lover of all things Lyon. Normal Lyon, Possessed!Lyon, Fomortiis himself...I love it all. And they did the Demon King JUSTICE with this art. He looks intimidating and impressive, and they gave him a massive stature as one would expect of the Demon King himself! The art is polished, and so fucking massive that to see the entirety of his character art you’d need to visit the FEH twitter just to see it! The Lv 40 confession feels like the most evil marriage proposal I have ever fucking heard, and I love it. But that might just be my monsterfucker ass interpreting it entirely differently to how it’s supposed to be presented. And that is FINE by me lol. I’m a big simp for both Lyon and Fomortiis, and I make NO secret of that. So all of this just feels like a very early birthday present from FEH as a whole because oh my GOD did they hit every one of the notes I like with Morti! And I love the added detail of the sprite of Lyon’s body slumping forward before righting itself almost unnaturally - a staple of any cheesy possession scene in movies and tv shows! It’s such a neat detail for anyone actually LOOKING.

I want an episode where Black Hat reviews Lucifer Morningstar from Hazbin Hotel on his own scale of villainy and inevitably just calls him the most pathetic version of Hell’s ruler he’s ever come across because he doesn’t embody the typical traits that the usual depictions have: Being truly Evil. Is one of those factors that are missing from the Hazbin Hotel’s depiction of Lucifer. I can just imagine him bashing the man into a wall with the amount of anger and criticisms he has. I actually sort of want to write a whole script for an Orientation Video and it’s just Black Hat going over Lucifer’s known feats and accomplishments. He’d only acknowledge his strength but then he’d call it useless to have due to his nature and what he uses his immense power for, he’d go as far as saying he misuses it at every opportunity he gets but he’d always find the way he carries himself to be rather pathetic.

There’s a whole list of criticisms Black Hat would have, then there’d be a scene showing how he’s connected to Lucifer in some way because in Orientation Video fashion, that’s what usually happens, showing how he’s influenced so and so (And how the person failed him.). Bro ranks him as a meek villain, well, he’d actually say that the man doesn’t even qualify to be in the ranking given the fact that he’s sympathetic towards humanity and the sinners now that his daughter helped him out of his depressive cycle. He would deem Lucifer as someone who runs hell in the disguise of this almighty figure when really he behaves more like a lapdog and can be manipulated very easily emotionally, he’d sooner compare him to a worthless hero then a villain. It’d get him so mad. Like he thinks Hell would be going to waste under Lucifer’s rule.

Black Hat’s face when listening to Hell’s greatest dad would be so priceless. Bro wouldn’t even know what YELP is or what a YELP review is or why he should find it important. Bros face when listening to More than anything would be even more funny, these angry faces are super hilarious to imagine.

A quick clarification, because I just realized some of my words were accidentally left open, and I want absolutely none of what I say to be used to shame or attack others.

While I may regard it as my job to speak out against bad behavior in the community and ensure my fanbase is safe, I by no means am saying that other creators (or fans!) should push themselves past their limits to do the same. I know full well that several creators on here have poor mental health, and have limits that are far different from my own. Likewise, if I notice myself getting overwhelmed, I will be taking a step back to recover so that I can continue healthily at a later time.

Please, everyone, operate within your own personal limits, not the standards you see others setting for themselves. Pace yourselves, self-care, and do what you can when you can - the rest of the time, take it easy and recover.

SO! ‘If you can’t afford to buy it the author wouldn’t have gotten the money for the book anyway’ is technically true, sure.  however, pirating their book can still seriously harm their career!

For example, if you are reading the pirated books on a kindle, this will then cause amazon to ping that the version of the book you’re reading is not from their store! If they’re an author utilizing kindle unlimited, this can get their novel pulled from the amazon store and cause the author themselves to have to pay a fine! Because in order to be a kindle unlimited author you have to be exclusive to amazon. there are other issues of this nature -- pirated copies can tank an authors numbers, which can hurt their chances of getting contracts, etc.

so if you CAN’T AFFORD IT. GO. TO. THE. LIBRARY.

Book piracy in concert with already pathetic pay rates in the publishing industry is the number 1 reason why I will literally never publish anything. It is not worth it.

Books cost thousands of dollars to publish! If you’re paying for things like an editor, an isbn, a cover, etc. I believe you also need to pay to copyright it. So. Again.

And that’s just indie publishing! WHICH YOU SHOULD NOT BE STEALING FROM! Indie writers are the mom-and-pop stores of the publishing world! Not walmart! Books in general (outside textbooks) fall under this! 

Do you know how much money the traditionally published number 1 NYT bestseller that got a movie deal, Iron Widow made the author? Something like 6k. Total. And before you go ‘oh wow, lotta money!’ That is half as much as someone who makes minimum wage will make in a year! Less than, actually! Books take at least that long to write!

DO NOT. PIRATE. BOOKS. YOU WILL FUCK OVER THE WRITERS.

The only exception here is, again, text books.
