One of the things that just (finally!) clicked with me is that great connection when Josie tells Hope in 2x07 “I want you to stay.”

Everyone is always leaving Josie—Caroline and Penelope, specifically that we know of in the past, and her (ex)boyfriend Landon moments later—she’s never enough for people/the people she loves to stay.

So it makes perfect sense on that level, as well as others, that she wants Hope to stay.

Fingers curl into a fist, short nails digging into flesh and he feels the blood pool beneath his fingers. A swift hit and it lands. It hurts more than it should, more than he cares to admit, more than he will ever voice. That was the intent behind that short little jab. “ And why is that? You’re off to bigger and better things? And what? You think I’ll stop you…why would I? I didn’t force you to be here in the first place, why would I force you to stay? ”

A part of him wants to do just that. That vengeful horrible part that breaks things first and regrets it later. But there’s pride here too, EGO more so. He had allowed himself a small window of being vulnerable, open. And now she had shattered that with just one small sentence. It’s tumultuous, the things that he’s feeling. Wants to rip the room to shreds, wants to bite her only so she’d have to beg him for his blood before she dies.

Wants to put a stake right through her heart so she knows how he feels, knowing that he would instantly regret it. Unlike his siblings, she would wake up if he took it out so instead he walks over to the tall open windows and the line of bottles, and pours himself a drink. The blood in his palm has long sealed, but there is some blood dripping down his wrist. “ Go, leave. Have at it! Far be it from me to stop you from reaching your pitiful potential. ”

Rebekah had been in the mood for a good party, the Mikaelson house was driving her insane, and they weren't even all there any more, Elijah lived out of town with Katherine, Kol hadn't been seen in months and Finn was still dead, and although Elijah was in town for the weekend he still didn't have as much time as she needed from him. Freya wasn't exactly a let loose kind of girl and Niklaus was just... Niklaus. Hayley had hope to look after, so Kathleen had been her only option.

Luckily the girl had agreed to go with her to a graveyard party, Rebekah had been slightly annoyed that Elijah had helped Kathleen get ready and not her, but it did take work to look as good as Rebekah did, even if he had bought her one of Katherines vintage dresses from the vault. Clearly Elijah had a soft spot for Kathleen, something she didn't quite understand.

"I hope you're ready kid, I haven't got all night to wait for you' Rebekah said knocking on the bedroom door.

Anyone setting foot into his city and daring to cause a ruckus or so much as dared to test him had to face the Mikaelson's unhinged recklessness. Many vampires considered him an abomination with his roots not only lying within the vampire species, but also in those of werewolves. A hybrid who had been given venomous canines which were deadly to young vampires and definitely sickening to ancient ones. Raphael had caught him on the wrong foot and maybe he had intented to. Either way he was suffering the consequence of his actions when Klaus had made use of the upper hand he had gained, sinking his fangs into the vampires neck without remorse. He was drinking of the other's blood before pushing him away. A smug grin on Klaus face as golden eyes settled on the vampire. "Not so mouthy anymore, are we?"

i was just listening to an old playlist and vibing, and welcome to the black parade came on and this song always punches me in the face with hope feels, usually wrt klaus and hayley leaving their legacy and how she feels compelled to take on that leader role, but this time i fixated on the line "just a man, i'm not a hero" and i have no point to this post other than screaming about my angsty emo girl and how all she's ever wanted is a normal life with her family nearby and not having to be treated like a walking abomination

Marcel raised an eyebrow up at Hope as she spoke, his face relaxing into a smile when she said she had met someone. “You had me worried there, kid, I thought something was seriously wrong.. Or you didn't wanna see me.” He told her with a chuckle, wrapping an arm around her shoulders, his smile growing into a slight grin. “So, who is this someone? And more importantly, when do I get to meet ‘em?"

(¸.• ♛ → the girl was able to spot her uncle, she was so so happy to see that he was okay even if right now he wasn't with his humanity. "uncle kol, are you okay? i haven't seen you in the chaos so i've been a bit worried." she admitted when she was able to approach where he was.

Really interesting shower thought from this evening…

I was vaguely thinking about @shadowhuntermama’s gentle poke about the Dark Josie siphons Hope to death idea, and some what-ifs that might be worth exploring in such a fic, e.g. what if killing Hope brought Josie back from the darkness, but The Merge had already started, and Josie was too distraught, so Lizzie wins, and Hope comes back to a world with no Josie… 😳

Which then was only a small jump back to canon and wondering…

Hope (and Lizzie) made all of these backups and failsafes and whatnot for the case where Dark Josie won The Merge and Lizzie died…but there was absolutely nothing prepared (IIRC) for saving Josie if Lizzie won! And, yes, Hope wanted Lizzie not to die, but her whole focus in these episodes was saving Josie from the darkness, but Lizzie winning The Merge would end Josie, darkness and all…

I wish I had a daughter. I got to have this chance to be pregnant to have a child, to get that human life. But I wouldn't destroy Nik's happiness for my own. I can't be happy when my brothers aren't happy.
