tag game i've seen on my dash and want to do so i'm doing it
(my friends tagged their fills of this as including "whoever wants to do this" so i'm taking the invitation!)
what’s the origin of your blog title?
i've been asked this a million times, but alas, the truth is that the origin of "toothpaste face" as a handle is largely apocryphal. i'm pretty sure it was a reference to that scene in pee wee's big adventure where he brushes his teeth and goes "GRR! MAD DOG!" during the breakfast machine bit, but my brother says it was because of a topical acne medication i was using a lot back when i first made my deviantart account (the first instance of the handle) that really did look like toothpaste. maybe it was both, or some other third thing?
all i know for sure is that it was originally going to be "snail face" but there was already a dA account with that!
my header is just a line from the song "b movie" by elvis costello!
otp(s) + shipname(s):
ohhhhh so many to pick... yall already know them. oldest one i can think of that i still indulge in would probably be kumadust (mother/earthbound) or ezioleo (assassin's creed).
of course hawkahy (mash) is the most recent addition to the pile... there's also hardenshipping (pokemon) and daforge (star trek) and marcien (elder scrolls) and speeding bullet (tf2)...
my only otp to ever be canon was daverezi (homestuck) but then it got retconned x_x;;
Favorite color:
tyrian purple!!!!
Song stuck in your head:
For Someone Special by the doobie brothers. beautiful song...
Weirdest habit/trait:
i keep earplugs in my pocket all the time and wear them pretty frequently. lots of places are just too damn loud!
Hobbies:
drawing and writing are the big ones... i play some acoustic guitar, but i'm not exactly django reinhardt. i also sew; i enjoy making doll clothes and stuffed animals, plus mending and customizing clothes i've thrifted. sometimes i also design and cut stuff with adhesive or heat-transfer vinyl to make my own stickers, decals, and tshirt designs. i've dabbled in a lot of other mediums too, like whittling, felting, ceramics, collage... i've even tried a little metalwork with an arc welder, but it's tough!!
as for non-artistic hobbies, cooking is the big one. i've done some archery, but i'm out of practice. i also enjoy fishing and hunting!
If you could have any job you wish, what would it be?
i'd love to work at the houston museum of natural science full-time, i think. i've spent a lot of time volunteering there and i wish i could just live and breathe paleontology in a fun place like that. unfortunately, that requires either living in houston or commuting into houston, and i've had enough of that, to be honest.
i'd also love to work at an antarctic research station!
Something you’re good at:
besides art... i'm a pretty good shot, actually, both with a revolver and with a bolt-action rifle.
Something you hate:
ugh, i can't stand it when people repeatedly clear their throat or snort/sniffle loudly in a quiet room. please deal with the post nasal drip in silence... or just take a decongestant!!
Something you collect:
dead stuff! bones, fur, taxidermy, wet specimens, teeth, seashells, dead bugs, you name it. i've got a really eclectic little collection going! most of it is stuff i've found myself on walks or in my yard, but i've bought a few of the additions and received several as gifts, too. what i'd really like to add to it is a diaphonized bird...
Something you forget:
birthdays! i'm so bad with birthdays. i only remember them if they coincide with some other event, like my brother being born on tax day. i usually only remember the month and that's it!
What’s your love language?
quality time. i love just doing stuff with people, even grocery shopping or having a microwaved meal ^_^
Favorite movie/show:
movie: the Blues Brothers. show: Spongebob, but specifically seasons 1-3, plus the first movie.
Favorite food:
fettuccine alfredo with as much seafood as i can get on it: shrimp, crab, crawfish, scallops, lobster, whatever!
Favorite animal:
Felis catus, Architeuthis dux, Ictalurus furcatus, and Velociraptor mongoliensis!
What were you like as a child:
when i was a really little kid, i had a really bad habit of randomly darting off to chase pigeons!
but in school i was a class clown, very loud, very sociable. i was always doodling in class and at lunch, and i would fill up stacks and stacks of paper just drawing whatever my friends told me to draw.
generally, i was always looking for the next excuse to get up in front of people and make them laugh! :)
Favorite subject at school:
it's tough to say because the teachers/professors can really make or break a class regardless of my opinion on the subject matter. my favorite teachers growing up were usually art or english teachers that understood how my brain worked, but i also have fond memories of a biology teacher who kept two pet rats in the classroom.
i took a wonderful creative writing course in the senior year of my first degree that really challenged me, and that same semester, i also had a blast in my shakespeare class thanks to a hilarious professor who really made everything come alive.
this time around, i think i had the most fun learning things in that class i took on vertebrate evolution, but the breakneck pace of the curriculum was brutal; i wish i could have taken it slower and savored the material.
Least favorite subject:
anything math! i understand it, it's useful, it's good brain exercise, yadda yadda yadda... but it's just so BORING. the application of the math is very interesting; the math itself, not so much.
What’s your best character trait?
i try to always stay optimistic, and to find little reasons to be happy wherever i am. i try very hard not to doomspiral.
What’s your worst character trait?
complete and total time blindness. i'm never early for anything. i'm always 2 minutes late to work, practically on the dot. but i try to make up for it through lingering and loitering!
If you could change any detail of your life right now, what would it be?
no student loan debt... -_-
If you could travel in time, who would you like to meet?
i've always wanted to meet vincent van gogh. above all else, i love his art and i would love to pick his brain about his process. i wish i could just sit together with him on the patio of a cafe somewhere and make gesture sketches of random passersby. i'd also love to meet leonardo da vinci— now there's a guy who won't get snippy when you go off-topic! honestly, i wish i could play a couple rounds of exquisite corpse with both of them together.

Fandom: Sanders Sides Characters: Logan, Virgil Rating: Teen & up Relationships: Analogical Warnings: Language, mention of smut (in the context of a character writing fic, not actual smut. fic-ception i guess lol) Word count: 1624
Read on AO3!
My writing masterpost
Starlight Universe masterpost
analogical week 2022 start - previous - here - next - masterpost
Summary: Logan did not intend for anyone to ever find this secret out. Oops.
Notes: Day 4 of @analogicalweek 2022! This is for the prompt “AU.” Takes place early in the first year of analogical’s marriage. also i don’t know anything about star trek so i apologize for inaccuracies lol
-
“God, I used to read so much Star Trek fanfiction as a teen,” Virgil said reminiscently, tipping his head back against the couch and reaching for another handful of popcorn.
“Really?” Logan said from his seat beside his husband on the couch, curious. “I wouldn’t have imagined you’d have been particularly into the show.”
“Oh, I mean, it was never my top fandom, but it was always kind of there, you know?” Virgil shrugged. “My mom really liked it, so she introduced it to me. I guess it was kind of a comfort fandom when I got older. Nostalgic, or whatever.”
“Ah,” Logan said. “I see. I discovered it in middle school.” He tilted his head to the side. “Oh, I think it must have been a special interest for a few years there.” He’d never made the connection before; it had been close to a year since he’d found out he was autistic, and little things about his life kept clicking into place every so often in light of this information. Star Trek evidently being a case in point.
“That does not surprise me even a little bit,” Virgil informed him fondly. “Nerd.”
Logan rolled his eyes. “Shut up,” he said, smiling.
“Make me,” Virgil teased.
Logan picked up a handful of popcorn and shoved it into his husband’s mouth, which sent them both into giggles, Virgil covering his mouth with his hand to avoid spewing popcorn all over the living room.
“Okay, I guess I should have seen that coming,” Virgil commented after a moment, swallowing the popcorn at last.
“Probably,” Logan agreed. “I like that you describe the show as comforting. That’s how I feel about it now, too.” His interest hadn’t been as strong in a few years, but it was still there, just softened down to a warm glowing core deep inside him.
“Yeah. I’d always search up the Spirk tag on AO3 when I was feeling down.” Virgil rolled his eyes. “Which, y’know, teen angst me did kind of a lot.”
Logan frowned, putting a hand on his husband’s arm.
“I’m okay, L.” Virgil took the hand and raised it to his lips. “Don’t worry.”
“I don’t like it when you are unhappy,” Logan said, still frowning.
“I know, babe.” Virgil cast him a comforting look. “I’m plenty happy now, okay? This is a great way to spend the evening. I’m good.”
“Okay,” Logan acquiesced after a moment, doing his best to wipe the frown off his face. “What kinds of fanfiction did you like to read?”
“About Star Trek?” Virgil asked. When Logan confirmed with a nod, his husband went on, “Well, I said Spirk already. Mostly that. Or else platonic stuff.” He grabbed the remote and paused the TV. “Sometimes I’d branch out into Daforge, if I wanted to spice things up with the Next Generation stuff, or a couple other things depending on what I was feeling. I went for lots of whump and hurt, with or without comfort. It was, like, cathartic, or whatever. But there was this one author I liked who did, like, more long-form, plot-heavy stuff. Which is the kind of stuff I usually would avoid, but I got into their stuff anyway because I read a oneshot they did once that was fantastic—Spock had to kill Kirk for some reason, I fucking cried, I loved it—and it got me to take a chance on their other stuff, and it was really good. Like, published novel levels of good. They were one of my favorites, even though most of their stuff wasn’t the kind of fic I usually read.”
“Fascinating,” Logan commented. “You’ll have to show me.”
“First of all, the fact you assume I still have all my old cringey fanfic accounts? Ouch.” Virgil seemed amused. “But accurate. Second, the assumption that I still remember enough details years later to find that fic?” He paused. “I mean, okay, again probably accurate. But come on. Leave me some shred of dignity, L.”
“I was not mocking you,” Logan protested.
“Oh, I know, babe. But it’s still funny.” Virgil took another handful of popcorn and munched it, considering. “Actually, I bet you would like their stuff,” he said thoughtfully. “It seems exactly up your alley, now that I think about it. There was this one really awesome long-ass multichapter piece they had, it was a college AU but it also had, like, a murder mystery going on that Kirk and Spock teamed up to solve, and there was this whole rivals-to-begrudging-allies-to-friends-to-lovers thing. All of it was super well researched, too, I think the author actually said they’d based it off some old crime case they learned about.”
Logan blinked several times and worked very hard on controlling his facial expression. “…Really?”
He must not have done as good a job at acting natural as he’d hoped, because Virgil squinted at him. “Uh, yeah. You good?”
“Fine,” Logan said quickly. “Just—uh—fascinated by the premise. Do you remember anything else about it?”
“I dunno. The smut chapters were really hot,” Virgil said, shrugging.
Logan choked on air. “Ah,” he said faintly. “Yes. Those. I see.”
Virgil snickered. “And those were also, like, excruciatingly well-researched. The author always linked a bunch of sources in the notes for the chapters, and had a whole long rant one time about safe sex in real life. It was weirdly wholesome, actually.”
“That’s—that’s great,” Logan managed.
Virgil paused, eyeing him sharply. “Babe, you’re acting really weird,” he said, frowning. “What’s up?”
“I—” Logan hesitated, reluctant to answer. “What was the author’s username? Do you remember? By any chance?”
“Uhh.” Virgil frowned, concentrating. “It was some kind of pun, I know that. A dirty one.” He snickered. “And a reference. It was clever.”
“Oh,” Logan said, his voice cracking. “Well. That’s—I see.”
“Hang on.” Virgil looked at him sharply. “Do you, like, know the fic I’m talking about?” He looked delighted. “You read fic when you were a teen?”
“I—well, in a manner of speaking, yes,” Logan hedged, his face burning hot all the way to the tips of his ears. He avoided his husband’s eyes.
There was another pause. Then a gasp. “Logan, you’re not saying you wrote it, are you?”
Logan hid his face in his hands. “Maybe?”
Virgil made a wordless noise of gleeful delight. “Holy shit,” he breathed. “Uh—shit, what was it called—the fic was, uh—oh, I’ve got it.” He snapped his fingers. “It was called Journey to Scarlet. I think it was a reference to a couple different things.”
Logan groaned. “Oh god. Yes.” He hiked his legs up onto the couch so he could curl into a ball. “I have so many regrets right now.”
“That was you?” Virgil pressed, delighted.
“Yes,” Logan admitted, muffled, into his crossed arms.
“Holy shit, this is like a fake tumblr post come true,” Virgil said, laughing uncontrollably. “This is the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I fucking married my favorite fanfic author. This is the best day of my life.”
“I’m going to look up my login and delete it all,” Logan said into his arms, only half meaning it.
“Noo!” Virgil protested, laying a hand on his arm. “No, babe, it was really good, I swear. I bet it still gets hits, even.” He tugged at Logan, guiding him to curl up in Virgil’s arms and lay his head on his husband’s shoulder. “I’m not making fun of you. Promise. I really do think this is awesome and hilarious and great.”
“I never told anyone about my account on that site,” Logan mumbled into his neck. “I’d always delete my search history after going on it.”
“Aww.” Virgil pressed a kiss to his forehead. “I promise whatever embarrassed you about it, I did way worse shit than you did and read things much more eye-bleachingly shameful than you did. I fucking guarantee it. And I linked my profile on all my regular social media.”
“You what?” Logan gasped, startled out of his embarrassment in spite of himself.
“Yeah. I did lots of deeply cringey things that I regret letting people witness, with everything in me,” Virgil said, snickering. “But, like, it’s kind of funny now, I guess.” He pressed a kiss to Logan’s forehead. “I’m not judging you, hon. Promise.”
Logan made a face, though he did not doubt the veracity of his husband’s words. “Okay,” he agreed, tipping his face forward to hide in Virgil’s neck once again.
“Shh. There, there.” Virgil patted his head. “Poor thing,” he teased gently. “You wrote very good stories with very hot smut, oh no, however will you recover?” He sounded intensely amused by this entire situation.
“I wasn’t planning on anyone finding out about them!” Logan said with a somewhat pitiful whimper.
“Okay, babe,” Virgil soothed. “I won’t tell Remus. Promise.”
“Oh, god.” Logan shuddered at the thought. “Thank you.”
He could still hear a note of amusement in his husband’s voice. “Of course, babe.” Virgil lifted Logan’s face and pressed another kiss to his forehead. “Want to watch some more actual Star Trek until you feel better?” He gestured towards the TV, still paused midway through the episode they’d been on.
“Can you still hold me?” Logan asked in a small voice.
Virgil grinned, petting his hair. “Definitely.”
Logan relaxed somewhat, rearranging himself so he could lean on his husband and rest his head over Virgil’s heart. Virgil’s arms came up to cup firmly around him, fingers running through his hair and scratching his scalp as the episode began playing once again.
Logan had to admit, beginning to feel warm and safe and sleepy, that this was not a particularly terrible outcome to this situation.

AO3 Stats
Thank you to @lunapwrites for the tag!
How many works do you have on AO3?
214
What's your total AO3 word count?
1.3 million (I know, I know...)
How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
AO3 tells me 15, but I also have tons of fic that I’ve written for fandoms that I just never bothered posting, so it’s probably more on the order of 20 or so. Sherlock, Star Trek, Good Omens, and HP are my top ones.
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
So I’ve never actually looked at this before and...........my little Data/Geordi fic has the most kudos of anything I’ve ever written???? Why???
Anyway:
1) the spaces between
2) All The Dreams We Had
3) From The Ashes
4) Nor the Years Condemn
5) Distraction
(I have precisely zero memory of writing #3 and #5 there, lmao)
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Usually I do. There was a period of time there were I just could not respond to comments (or, like, function...yay, depression). I basically vanished from LJ and Tumblr and only popped up on AO3 to throw a fic up and then disappear again into the ether. I’m now back to responding to comments again, at least on stuff I’ve posted 2019-now. If you commented on something of mine and I never responded to it....I am very sorry. Your comments truly make my day!
What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?
I’m really bad at judging what sad actually is but from the comments I got on this fic, I’m going to assume it’s Fall of Gods.
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Lmao writing rare pairs in Sherlock fandom around the time of the TJLC nonsense was....interesting. So yes, but it’s never once bothered me. I actually kind of enjoy it? Because then I get to roast the hate comments with my friends in our private group chat haha.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yeah, if the story or plot bunny calls for it. It’s not my favorite thing in the world to write, but sometimes needs must :) What kind? Uh, the sexy times kind? I dunno, it’s just smut.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don’t think so!
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes, a few times!
What's your all time favorite ship?
I’m a multishipper. I literally cannot choose a ship. So many are near and dear to my heart. I suppose the one thing that can be said for Aziraphale/Crowley is it’s the one ship I have where I don’t ship either of them with anyone else, which I can’t say for any of my other pairings. Wolfstar and Daforge are probably my oldest pairings, though.
What's a WIP that you want to finish, but don't think that you ever will?
I don’t have any WIPs on AO3 that I don’t think I’ll finish....the only WIP I have up there right now is one I intend to return to someday! But I have plenty of WIPs in my drafts folder that will never see the light of day. Let’s see....probably the Jegulus fic I have where Harry finds out in OOTP that Regulus was actually his other parent will never be finished. It interested me at the time, but I’ve quickly lost steam on it.
What are your writing strengths?
Making characters and readers feel things :)
What are your writing weaknesses?
Plot, dialogue, internal consistency, character arc - pretty much everything that’s not feelings.
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in fic?
I try to avoid it. I am not bilingual and I probably shouldn’t be writing characters who are because I’ll never get it right. If I do have dialogue in other languages, it’s used sparingly.
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Star Trek: TNG
What is your favorite fic that you've written?
This will change by the day. I love all my fanfic children equally :)
Tagging anyone who sees this and wants to play!
#imp is writing#text post#long post#i don't actually love all my fanfic children equally#this is a lie#but i still cannot choose

Not to be too forward but please drop your TNG watch order.
okay tng is. complex. here’s how i’d do it I think. I’m jumping about a lot, and I’m also struggling to remember a lot of it because my first watch was 7 years ago and my rewatch w friends we just did Sherlock Holmes and then went straight into chronological order. so this is like, combo of a handful of eps I remember being plot important and just stuff that makes me laugh.
Elementary, My Dear Data (S2E3) and Ship In A Bottle (S6E12). a) introduces you perfectly to the concept of holodeck episodes, which will be important later b) DaForge married gay energy off the charts c) Picard is really fun. the only failing of this as a start is the tragic lack of Guinan
ALL of the Q eps. Speedrun the Qcard nonsense and get a lot of the overall show plot
Encounter at Farpoint (S1E1 and S1E2)
Hide and Q (S1E10) - unnervingly babyfaced Riker. you could skip this one but it lays some good basis for who the Q continuum are, but it’s kind of fun
Q Who (S2E16) - borg introduction! absolute must watch. The insanity of ‘to learn about you is frankly provocative… but you’re next of kin to chaos’ as a line alone, let alone the voice Patrick Stewart gives to it. Iconic episode.
Deja Q (S3E13) - Q getting turned into a human as punishment for being a naughty boy. V funny, must watch
QPid (S4E20 babeyyyyy) - MUST WATCH one of thee funniest episodes and experiencing the QCard speedrun from farpoint to qpid is a very special kind of brainworms
True Q (S6E6) - this one is skippable tbh, but it is pretty fond and I’m personally fond of running a full Q supercut
Tapestry (S6E15) - this one isn’t as fun as most Q eps but it is VERY TNG-ish and therefore a must watch. If you’ll forgive the pun, it really gets at the heart of Picard’s character
All Good Things (S7E25 and S7E26) - as with most Star Trek finales it’s not the best. You don’t have to watch this here but it can be a fun bookend for the Q speedrun
You could also go watch DS9’s Q-Less (S1E6) if you’d like to see Q get punched in the face, it’s really very satisfying
You kind of have to watch The Best of Both Worlds (S3E26 and S4E1). If you’ve seen TNG before, you don’t need to worry about when you watch it. If you haven’t seen any TNG yet, watch it here.
Darmok (S5E2) - THEE most star trek of all star trek’s. hmu if you ever want me to rant about Darmok I have a whole badly-structured personal essay about it ready to go at all times
Disaster (S5E5) - Geordi and Crusher teamup is really fun, and ‘executive officer in charge of radishes’ is the best line in all 7 seasons of TNG
Schisms (S6E5) - you could just watch from the opening until Data’s poetry recital ngl. The ep is decent and I’d personally watch it all but this ep is mostly about Data’s poetry.
Sub Rosa (S7E14) - Crusher fucks a ghost. iconic behaviour
Dixon Hill eps! They’re fun and silly and much like watching TOS’ A Piece of The Action
The Big Goodbye (S1E12)
Manhunt (S2E19) - Lwxana. I’d do anything for Lwxana
Clues (S4E14) - Guinan as Gloria is so much fun I love her and she should have got a full episode!!!!!
The Measure of a Man (S2E9) - important Federation and Data lore. Very emotional.
Yesterday’s Enterprise (S3E16) - Tasha’a back!!!!!!!! Just a very cool ep imo
Hero Worship (S5E11) - Extremely good Data ep, good content about Federation attitude to mental illness
Datalore (S1E12) - another important Data ep, and Lore is laways fun
The Offspring (S3E16) - Data wants to be a dad!!!
I, Borg (S5 E23) - HUGH!!! IT’S ALL ABOUT HUGH!!!!!!!!! (I like to watch this right after The Offspring because it’s direct parallels of geordi and data just wanting to take care of people)
Brothers (S4E18) - more Data (And Lore) content
Descent (S6E26 and S7E1) - not required watching, but Lore is fun and evil
Fistful of Datas (S6E7) - EXTREMELY SILLY GOOD FUN ALLROUND. CAN NEVER GO WRONG W ACOWBOY EP
Sarek (S3E23) - I can’t remember the plot I just know Sarek shows up in a lavender robe and has mad chemistry with Picard. I’m pretty sure they mind meld really hard??? Lord help me the old men you put on this spaceship to do politics are exploring eachothers’ minds in the most intimate manner possible <3
Unification (S5E7 and S5E8) - Spock attempts to re-unify Romulus and Vulcan. Iconic 2-parter, but definitely the kind of episode that benefits from watching with a friend so you can add commentary
if you like Romulan episodes you could watch the full Sela arc before this one (The Mind’s Eye S4E24, Redemption S4E26/S5E1, Unification)
Face of The Enemy (S6E14) - I can’t remember the entire plot but I’m pretty sure it was good and I love a good Romulan ep
The Host (S4E23) - Trill introduction!!!! So good.
The Game (S5E6) - profoundly stupid but worth it for how funny the graphics for the game are
Cause and Effect (S5E18) - just a pretty cool one
Time’s Arrow (S5E26 and S6E1) - One of TNG’s strongest plots imo
The Inner Light (S5E25) - another banger plot; Picard gets hit by a psychic probe and lives an entire life in a history that has already happened. there’s a really good Spones fic based on this episode and I could read an au like this for any ship I swear
Relics (S6E4) - Scotty!!!! It’s fun
Chain of Command (S6E10 and S6E11) - another one of TNG’s strongest plots. The origin of the ‘there are FOUR lights’ meme.
Birthright (S6E16 and S6E17) - this is an infamous double parter but all I actually remember is Julian Bashir appearing and meeting Data
Ensign Ro’s intro ep Ensign Ro (S5E03) i LOVE her
The Next Phase (S5E24) - cool ep where Ro and Geordi get stuck out of phase and are invisible from the crew, pretty fun
and the end of her arc with Preemptive Strike (S7E24)
I personally love Barclay and just choose to live in a universe where the misogyny wasn’t happening and he was just a weird little man, but if he bothers you, you can skip his arc. Don’t skip Genesis tho it’s good
Hollow Pursuits (S3E21)
The Nth Degree (S4E19)
Realm of Fear (S6E2)
Genesis (S7E19) - perfectly batshit star trek fake science. I love it
Masks (S7E17) - extremely silly and therefore fantastic
after this point I’d go back and watch in order all the way through, or look up a watch order for eps that are actually important plot-wise :’)

Ask me stuff
48: Do I live with my Mom and Dad?
I do, actually. We live in a small apartment above the family business, which means that it’s always a trip (pre-covid) to order pizza or something in the middle of the night because the delivery person would show up and be like “...This can’t be right.” It also means that our dogs get to go to work with us! Although, sometimes, someone has a fear of dogs so we have to send them back upstairs. As soon as I land a job in graphic design and I enough savings, though, I plan on getting my own place.
65: Do I believe in luck?
Why, Mr. Spock, you almost make me believe in miracles.
I do believe in luck - both good and bad! I’m actually pretty superstitious? I say “DON’T JINX IT!” out loud when someone says something is going well and I Literally Knock-On-Wood (tap walls, tables, etc.) in order to try and cancel out a jinx. I don’t believe in the salt or black cats or ladders thing, though.
81: My top 5 blogs on tumblr
OOF I DON’T KNOW!! I feel like i’m going to accidentally leave someone out and feel like a Terrible Person. I am going to give this a shot though. Just know that if you aren’t on this list that I didn’t intentionally exclude you - this is was just came to mind first.
@drawsmaddy makes WONDERFUL daforge art and I always look forward to her posts! and because we’re all mutuals i’d be remiss if I didn’t include @intergalacticpanic here, who you should DEFINITELY follow if you love geordi la forge. holly is THE resident expert of geordi-posting.
@marlinspirkhall always has something funny or interesting to say about TOS. Also they’re writing a musical, so that’s dope.
@kirksfattitties I just recently discovered his blog and he is SO FUNNY, please check out his TOS and TAS posts.
@trek-tracks is, as @princenimoy (who you should follow too because she’s an expert on early zines, fanfic, and official star trek novels; she’s responsible for uploading a full copy of the Alien Brothers zine which includes one of the EARLIEST and most IN CHARACTER fics ever written “Rings of Soshern” - which was thought to be lost to time.) put it, the Resident Bard. she is extremely funny and extremely talented at writing poetry. she also hosts something called “trek watch” sometimes, which where people vote on what TOS episodes they want to watch and then we all get together in one big group chat/livestream deal and experience it together. it’s also where i’ve been introduced to those cursed star trek videos. Like, “captain kirk is climbing a mountain”, “william shatner “”””sings”””” rocket man”, and “star trekkin.” Keep an eye out for future trek watches, they’re super fun!!
NEETOLS!!!! Who has a lot of blogs. @dingonato is their personal blog, where they make GALAXY BRAIN spock posts that I ADORE. They draw a LOT of spirk stuff and post it on @neetols (art blog) OR @kolinar (star trek art blog) - usually AOS but occasionally TOS. They also write fic!
There’s DEFINITELY more but, again, this is just what came to mind right away!

The Writing Process Tag
A little awestruck that @teacup-universes decided to tag me in the Writing Process tag. I love talking about this kind of thing so I’m really happy to do it
1. What are your favorite genres and/or styles to write in? As of now I tend towards Fantasy, just because its my comfort zone within reading and writing and I feel like it’s what I do best. I like the freedom that it gives me and most of the time I like to have the ability to solve problems via fantastical means.
2. What was the last writing project you finished and felt successful with?Honestly I’m never particularly good at finishing things, let alone larger writing projects I start. It’s usually the little things that make me happy within writing, like flash fiction pieces I do and stuff. Recently I read my own work out to a room of people, and that was both terrifying and really rewarding since I’ve never done that before.
3. If you have a WIP how do you feel it’s going? What stage are you in? I’m currently rough drafting a Star Trek TNG fanfic about the cutest ship in the galaxy, Daforge. In the fic Data is a human with Autism and so has to go to a special needs school, where he meets Geordi and the two become firm friends.
Since I don’t have Autism myself I thought it was important for me to research and understand as much about the condition as was possible, as a part of the @Fandomacefest here on Tumblr and also on the discord server I’ve had some interesting discussions about the ins and outs of portraying Autism in media on there.
4. What is your favorite place to write? Most recently I’ve found I like writing before bed, I’ll curl up all comfy in my jammies and scrawl in a notebook until I can’t keep my eyes open. It’s a bit of an eccentricity I’ll admit but it helps me feel a little productive even if I’ve not been able to get anything done during the day.
I got into this through a Uni Open House Day I went to last month where had a prompt and we had to write whatever came into our minds. It had been so long since I’d written with a pen and paper that it felt like a completely new experience and I really had fun writing again.
5. Do you prefer to write long hand or type? Or some other method? Most of the time I type because I’m lazy as anything and refuse to go through anything I hand-write in order to transcribe it to MS Word or Google Docs.
6. Do you remember your first character? If so can we meet them? Honestly a lot of my early fiction I wrote was incredibly derivative, ergo I don’t really remember many of the OCs that I created.
7. Where do you get your inspiration? Anywhere really. Honestly sometimes I don’t even know where it comes from myself. In fact I usually force myself to just sit down and write and I sometimes find I’ve got more rounded subconscious ideas than I knew about when I wrote actively.
8. Do you outline a story before writing it, or does it all live in your head until the first draft gets put down? I find that outlining takes a bit of the joy out of writing for me, I’ll have a vague idea where the plot begins and ends but that’s it.
9. Where do you go/what do you do when you’re feeling stuck? I watch trashy television. Don’t ask why but a quick episode of something makes me think that no matter how terribly I plot a scene or someone has plotted something more trite, cliche or trashy and I shouldn’t worry about it.
10. What got you started writing/doing art? (Because I always love origin stories) Honestly having an Old Yellowing Desktop Computer in my bedroom as a kid really encouraged me to write. There was something about the mechanical clicking noise of the keyboard and also the way in which I could get words to dance around in my imagination that was really satisfying to me.
My dad scavenged the beast from an office clear out and even though it was fitted only with the bare minimum of software, and a windows 95 OS (this was 2003 or something) I loved it to pieces and would even write local newsletters and stuff on it and imagine I was writing for a real newspaper. I have such fond memories of reading my work to my dad as a kid, since he was dyslexic and having him praise what I did felt really validating. I did the same with other people’s books when we would come home from the library, and something deep inside me just said “If these people can do this, you can too” and since then, writing has been one of the only things I’ve had consistent confidence in.
I tag @the-wandering-avarian and anyone who sees this that wants to do it, since I don’t know too many people on Writeblr
