Freddles and Dire about the Lonely Children Au: *The Horror and Sadness of being trapped in an unending time loop. A time loop that never quite breaks, but rather crumbles under the weight of itself, and those trapped inside not knowing how to proceed once their prison is gone.*
Me about the Lonely Children Au: Can I interest you in a Fluffy Boy?? :3

Because of his hollow mask, Di-Roy can only sleep on his back. Luck for him I’m a side sleeper who needs to hug things in their sleep.
oh no this is so cute!!
when I got home from work today I plugged some sleepy music into my headphones and curled up under a blanket and took an hour and a half nap while imagining I was snuggling with D-Roy
I....... slept very well 😊😊😊

So this is kind of a headcanony, but episode commentary-ish pertaining to HOTD and my Pharaoh... Getting to it....
I read Fi/re and Blood about a year ago so I already know how fucked up the ending is going to be for a lot of beloved characters on HOTD. Matt Sm/ith isn’t like... what the books describe a Targaryen to be looks wise, but he DOES embody the arrogance and aggressiveness of Daemon, which is great. He might be FUN to roleplay now that I have a face with the character from the book. On the other hand, a lot of people love Rh/aenyra. She’s not my Dan/y but it wouldn’t be too hard to embody her all things considered. I don’t play a lot of women but the thing I always enjoyed about GoT was the layered politics and how every decision mattered. Putting Rha/enyra through the business would be fun, and crossovers would be fun too.
The whole main plot of the series reminds me of Atem’s situation as his father’s only heir. The difference is that unlike King Vise/rys, Atem will not ultimately be bullied by his court and IF he had a brother, he wouldn’t fear him. Atem’s given a slight pass about his lack of a true heir because he’s never been bested in battle. When they look upon Egypt’s tiny pharaoh, they know he is their god. So while he does get lip from his council often, ultimately it boils down to ‘what are you REALLY going to do about it?’ They reprimand him endlessly about making an heir, but none of them would actually challenge him about it in a fight.
So anyway... i finally decided to see how much of the book this show added and it was decent for the most part. But it gave me a lot of food for thought pertaining to the almost downfall of Atem’s kingdom. It also served as a reminder that in many ways, Atem was rather glad he didn’t have a brother. Because MY Atem will always do what is necessary to protect his people. If that means feeding his insubordinate brother to Ammit, then so be it.
