Can I tell y’all about what I’ve been thinking about? Yes? Cool so I have a line I use in one of my Eddie stories that goes “you’re the love of my life and all the lives after” and that has been sitting in my little brain for months now because what if you and Eddie do somehow find each other in your next lives? You never know where you’ll end up in your next life but one thing is for sure and it’s you and Eddie are soulmates and literally made for each other, so all the two of you have to do is find each other and ya know how hard could that be in a world that’s made up of billions of people? It would almost be like you’re drawn to each other like a moth to a flame and when you see Eddie you’d just go “Puddin pop?” or something equally as cheesy and that’s all it would take for him to have flashbacks of the two of you from all the lives you’ve lived and before you can even take another step he’d be crashing into you and mumbling “I knew you’d find me” into your neck as he wraps you up in his arms.

Not to be shippy on main but why does everyone go in for tsundere fx and "nuisance to society" jy when their every interaction screams the opposite. Fx is logical and realistic enough to be more than well-acquainted with how she feels and is extremely devoted to her work (and subsequently the general) and on the opposite hand jy is incredibly selfless and caring towards her (literally the first time they met he told her he'd take the blame when she suggested they frickin commit a war crime in order to win the Abundance War). Like yeah teasy jy is amusing or whatever but realistically that wouldn't be in the droves y'all think it would and fx would probably laugh at it the few times it might happen more than she'd get all tsundere-y about it

She's not emotional. That's the difference. She doesn't have emotional outbursts. She's extremely calm and rational and she's dealt with jy for more than long enough to become extremely used to his antics and she wouldn't take them nearly so seriously.

They're PINERS. They're pining and it's obvious. They watch each other from across the room when they think the other isn't looking and they leave each other nice little notes at work because both of them overwork themselves and need breaks. I am COOKING here

Still on the topic of Reo making choices with the wrong priorities in mind, to the detriment of his improvement, it's interesting to reread his chat with Isagi in the u-20 tryouts arc. He was so close to figuring out the "right" path forward. So close.

He starts the chat like, "I wanted to prove him wrong about me" and then realizes Nagi rising to the top alone proves Reo wrong instead. Which, you know. Is the lesson he's meant to learn. You can't become an egoist so long as you fight for someone else. And Reo almost gets it because some part of him knows that he's just chasing Nagi's back at this point. But then isagi says this,

And you can see it in Reo's eye that those words have an impact on him. However, instead of really grasping what Isagi is explaining, Reo takes it as confirmation bias. The choice they end up making leads to two opposite purposes. Isagi decides to challenge himself and chose Rin because only Rin can push him past his current skills, while Nagi is the easy, comfortable option of relying on what got him through the selections so far. Choosing Nagi would've been bad because it meant Isagi letting his growth be stalled for the sake of feeling secure, of guaranteeing his survival in blue lock. But "surviving" doesn't mean "winning", and Isagi knows this. He's already learned all he could from Nagi, so it's time to move on to different opponents and expand his set of skills.

Reo, however, chooses not to. If persistence in the path you chose for yourself is the right way forward for Isagi, someone willing to break himself down and rebuild himself anew to keep staying on that path... It's stagnancy for Reo. Isagi's point flies over his head because Reo doesn't understand the egoist philosophy to begin with. Instead, he takes Isagi's words to mean that entering blue lock for Nagi's sake wasn't a mistake, and he just needs to persist in that choice, too. To continue choosing Nagi until their skill level evens out, and they can play side by side again as Reo always intended, no matter if it's against the rules of the program itself

She laid the wreath of bay leaves interspersed with spring crocuses against the stone, nestling it gently in the grass growing over her poor lonely bones. According to her little book, such foliage was meant to indicate change through death, rewards through merit, and both together in youthful gladness. She rather liked the idea that this was a proper fresh start, and one that she had earned, no less.

Yes, she had done the best she could when alive. But now she would truly shine. And she’d share the drama of it all with herself, first and foremost.
