I like to think that pre-Oracle Rachel painted scenes from both wars, but she and Percy have no idea until they go back and reflect.

Percy notices, cause Rachel shows him her art, but he just rights it off as weird, even tho something doesn’t feel right.

Like, that’s DEFINITELY a replica Achilles mourning Patroclus. Only it’s two girls, one with flowing hair and a melted face, the other kneeling over her friend, face stricken with grief. He thinks her eyes look familiar. An immortal stands over them. Although they remind more of Ares and less of Thetis.

She has another painting that reminds Percy of a story from the Gigantomachy. Hera cowers under Porphyrion, about to be attacked. Only instead of Zeus and Heracles coming to her aid, it’s a guy with blond hair. His armor and sword is distinctively NOT Greek, but he opts to not comment on it. Rachel did a good job.

There’s more in her little studio, they both dismiss them as dreams. They make Rachel uncomfortable and Percy feels bile rise the more he looks.

He doesn’t realize until months later. It hits him while on the Argo. Him, Jason, Clarisse. THEY were the heroes in those paintings. Jason was the one coming to Hera’s aid. Clarisse was mourning Selina. He was fighting giants.

It all clicked into place, and he tried to remember what else her paintings for-told.

The room starts to spin and he’s glad he’s lying down. He shuts his eyes and turns his external imaging devices and motion sensors inward, cocooning himself in the darkness and warm hum of his machines.

The only part of himself that he allows himself to interface with is the blades in his shoulder copters turning slowly in time with the slight draft in the room. He drapes his mind around them, giving the spinning, dizzy feeling a place to exist that isn’t his stomach. His louvres flutter like gills, directing his exhaust-filled breaths away from his fuel lines and processors.

It's not gonna be big, but dialogue has been running in my head 24/7 and if I don't write it down I'll explode. Writing is a fun break from drawing besides and I genuinely feel like slowly dissecting other characters is helping me revisit my original stories, and dissect my own characters and bring more continuity and subtlety into them.

i hear everyone talking bout luxa and gregor and gregor and lapblood and ares being war but what about Luxa and Ripred? What about them?

What about ripreds pups dying in the Garden and him being unable to stop it from happening, so he becomes a jaded warrior who works with those responsible for his pups death to get peace?

What about Luxa's parents dying due to rats and her being unable to stop it from happening, so she becomes a jaded warrior who bonds with a rat for pups to get peace?

What about how Luxa and Gregor are now Ripred's pups and what about how Ripred now has pups, now has a reason to keep going, to keepy fighting?

What about how Luxa now has a father again, after so many years of not having one, of relying on Vikus, who knows what to say but is always ready for peace and not so willing to fight, when Ripred knows when to fight?

What about them taking the spots in each others hearts that rats/humans took from them and are now family and swear to be that for each other always and worked together for the peace so no one else ever has to suffer the way they do?!?!?!

I wanted to do a sleepy cuddles parallel with Ericka and the "Lift the capes" moment in the OG HT. I also wanted to do Drac carrying a sleepy preggo Ericka.

Bonus: for the 2nd thought bubble, I was going to go back to the "I can't be with you" scene to contrast with what's happening here, but suddenly my brain decided to go a different direction, making a parallel to this moment and "It's time to start a new legacy." Either way, it came out adorable.
