fun little question for therian tumblr
Any of y'all have shifts that just, never go away? My phantom ears and tail never go away, unless I'm having a shift for one of my other theriotypes since they usually don't blend together. Them phantom ears and tail be going HARD all the time. Paws are also a near constant.

THEY EXIST NOW
Tumblr media
This is Ink, but i made it a therian because i am one and i smelled feral energy within him lmao. It started out as a headcanon and then i remembered that i can draw...
If anyone wants to send asks about them, go ahead!
Also feel free to make your own versions with other/more theriotypes. This is a thing open for anyone to mess with :D
and tag me if anyone makes fanart- or other variants, i wanna see em too owo

ive been thinking about this for a while and y'know. there isn't actually a big difference between someone asking you not to refer to them as human and someone asking you to use gender neutral language for them. ive seen fellow queer people (mostly on twitter) whine and scream and shit their pants over being asked to not call someone human, as if that is somehow different from a transphobe throwing a fit about being asked to use singular they for someone? how often does that even come up? do you seriously refer to others often enough with the word "human" that being asked not to is a major inconvenience? I don't know how to finish this post but you get the idea it's hypocritical and annoying

“why are all therians 10-15 year old white girls” 1. plenty of us aren’t girls you either don’t realize that or are just transphobic 2. plenty of us aren’t white and while there is a large community of white therians a lot of therians are based in the USA canada and europe all white-dominated countries, as well as this poc such as myself may struggle to identify themselves as therians due to already facing ostracism due to being poc and not wanting to further ostracize themselves 3. there are a ton of older therians out there but a large population of them don’t use social media or don’t use popular social media like tiktok or tumblr, otherkin have been around since the 70s there’s bound to be elders out there 4. bites you (negative)

If there's one thing I've learned from being nonhuman, it's that if you make your posts about being nonhuman literal but also vague, they will blow up and get passed around by people who think it's poetry.

Me being a werewolf and alterhuman is really weird. Because I AM a werewolf. One who can’t really shift, but still, a werewolf. I am a human who can turn into a wolf. But that human part of me isn’t human. My therianthropy, otherkinity, alterhumanity, etc. is what makes up that human side for me. Those identities may not be physical but they do make me even less human. I am an animal to my core. Is this relatable to anyone?? I’m bad at explaining things so sorry if this doesn’t make sense

i love being nonhuman. most people will never know the joy of feeling a set of wings on their back, of remembering of what it’s like to fly, of knowing that this is only one of many experiences and being comforted by the fact that you are more. it is the reason i know that i am magnificent and i can do whatever i put my mind towards.

Some recent thoughts about nonhumanity and my relationship to the community + my personal relationship with it that I cleaned up, my writing style is a bit disjointed, I would like to share more of my writing, if anyone would be interested in seeing that :)

Sometimes I see posts about therian stuff and I want to reblog them but I almost feel like I cant because despite also being kin and a creature I kinda feel like there’s this. Nuance a little that therians are “more valid” or just in general more respected than otherkin are because they’re “real” animals
To be clear, not at all a shade towards therians, yall are amazing just sometimes I worry that despite also being a beast I am not supposed to show my relatance or even interact at all
Like I worry if they see me interact they’ll be disgusted somehow? Like “ew one of those reblogged my post”
Idk probably totally irrational fear, just sometimes I worry about it because it feels like there’s a sort of divide between therian and otherkin spaces

Ok a small thing some nonhumans should understand not evryone fully identifies as something else besides human or identifies partially as something else but less human.I myself identify more human than hyena,I call myself a human I am a human I am a hyena only spiritually in rest I am human, therianthropy otherkin alterhuman experiences are diffrent for evryone and evryone has to understand this.

unhinged 30 days of otherkin challenge: day 11
What's the most specific or unusual shift (if you experience them) you've experienced?
For my white tern theriotype I had a really weird beak shift once and I seriously wanted to swallow the fishies whole. Not the weirdest thing ever. Also the webbed feeties. Also feather shifts kill me because it makes clothes UNCOMFY.
For my harbor seal theriotype the no ears shifts are funky, and fur shifts, again, drive me nuts. Also funny flippers. Love those :D
AND FINALLY, my dhole theriotype. TONGUE SHIFTS. I don't think they're that weird but I haven't seen anyone else mention it yet. Like canid tongues are VERY different from human tongues and sometimes I'm just like, gimmie the long flat doggie tongue BACK PLEASE. Also I want the teethers back. They're better for chewing sticks.

just came to a sudden conclusion as to why a lot of the names i have used in the past, or that i align with right now, are nouns!
im not a human (as im otherkin, etc), and just like how you’d name a dog, cat, bird or any other animal something like “coco”, “cookie” or “courage” (or like how someone might name a pet dog an animal they are not, like “moose”, for example!) i enjoy noun (particularly food) based-names aswell!! just in a dragon way, or in the way of any other creature i may feel i am =03
curious to know if any other nonhumans/alterhumans/etc have this same feeling towards names!!

i’ve been attempting to walk on my tiptoes more often to simulate digitigrade legs, but after a couple minutes of it the balls of my feet start to hurt. i need to buy some of those socks with paw pads on them — those would probably help cushion it better

To cast an angel down to an planet filled with so much misery and take away their ability to help is a cruel punishment. I can only do what i can with these small and insignificant hands, in the hopes that one day, i can help to rid the world of sin once again.

being a therian isn't as big a piece of my identity as it used to be. i used to attribute my lycanthropy and being a dog solely to being a therian, and who knows, maybe that's all it was at the time. but knowing more about myself as i am and not as others see me has let me see, and having more time to grow into myself, having more time to let psychosis develop and take root in my mind, being a therian isnt as important to me anymore. my previous experience being mentally a wolf and having phantom limbs do not compare to my current experience as a nonhuman. to feeling myself physically transforming into a different beast and losing any human-like cognition. to existing day to day in a human life in a dog's body. i still love being a therian and it is still a part of me, but for me it never got close to the experience i now have as a dog endel and a clinical lycanthrope.
