Cheese doesn't need any of the crew to adopt him, he is getting his brother back and thus his family back

I see you, I hear you. But consider... Both Cheese and Spaulding are so deeply traumatised by their parents and everything that happened to them.

Jack, putting a hand on little Cheese shoulder after a long day, saying "I am proud of you." Cheese would burst out into tears.

Myrtle, silently casting some kind of protection spell on Cheese before combat. Only later does he notice that some attacks just seem to bounce of him and something inside him breaks a little bit. Later, when they are alone, he gives her a hug and then scurries off SO FAST.

Marcid tries his very best to explain all this ship-owning-buisness to little Cheese, who doesn't even know economy 101 and at some point, Cheese's head just drops back and he us fast asleep after hours of doing this. With a deep sigh, Marcid picks the boy up and just deposits him in his bed, throwing a blanket on him. Cheese wakes up in the morning, pulls his knees to his chest and just weeps.

BECAUSE FINALLY, FINALLY THERE ARE SOME ADULTS WHO CARE ABOUT HIM AND TAKE CARE OF HIM!!!!!

So, yeah, Cheese is close to grown up and has his brother, but I refuse to believe that he (and his bro) don't deserve to do some healing and to have some positive experiences with parental figures.

Oh, also, since they theoretically don't have a home except for the ship anymore, they absolutely stay at Gold Gardens while in Leviathan. Having some fun under the watchful eyes of Garthy and Jack.

okay so before Fantasy High: Junior Year comes out I need to catch up on Literally Every D20 Season

I never finished Pirates of Leviathan because the zoom format was so painful and a ton of the cast dynamics weren't meshing with me personally (except Aabria. Myrtle the bitch my beloved)

PLEASE tell me your favorite things about PoL so I feel more motivated to Actually Finish it this time, thank you

After the Ravening War, I've been thinking about more of Lou and Aabria's characters interacting. Especially in a make each other both better and worse kinda way.

I am now obsessed with Fabian failing his Con Saves after being thrown into the sea and being dragged down deeper and deeper until Umberlee takes pity on him. Sending a current to carry him towards her ever-faithful Myrtle's lair, his first conscious breath of water being the action that signs his soul away as a Warlock of The Queen of the Depths.

Myrtle appraises him as she does with all the other flotsam and jetsam that find their way to her. Searching for some speck of worth within his frame before realizing who his eyepatch had once belonged to. Good 'ol Captain Bill. She'd known, vaguely, that he'd sired a legitimate son, his only offspring to bear his name, but had never heard a word about the boy otherwise. If this was him... She'd happily take the son of the Scourge of the Celestine Sea under her wing and forge him into the greatest Champion of Umberlee Spyre has ever seen.

Beaten, broken, and ashamed, Fabian eagerly takes what he sees as his path of redemption, his chance at regaining what little pride and power he has left. Clutching onto these new powers that Myrtle teaches him how to wield with destructive efficiency. This is how he can live up to his father. This is how he can surpass him.

After a mad, frantic search of Leviathan's lower decks, the Bad Kids finally find Fabian coming out of passageways that lead to Myrtle's lair. Rising up from the dark waters, like Venus out of the sea. Myrtle's last words to him lingering like the taste of sea salt now forever in his mouth.

"Let's see if you can live up to your name, Seacaster."
