Super Small Stardust Saga, Chapter 6

"Oh no!! The consequences of my actions!"

I basically split this chapter into two parts - Chapter 5 was the first part, and Chapter 6 is the second. Made it a lot easier to get back into it.

As usual, this is an archived version of a Cohost post. The formatting and HTML broke, so this post in particular is turbo-scuffed. Feedback is always appreciated, thanks!

You awaken to utter darkness. Below you is cushioned softness of an utterly pleasant caliber. All around you is a warm humidity, coupled with an intense feminine scent. As you stir and roll, you feel a wet spot.

...Oh no!! Did you wet the - no wait.

You slowly pick yourself up and flip yourself over, looking up at a thick string of viscous alien fluid. You were so cozy, you'd forgotten you were in Nadira's panties overnight, you suppose. You couldn't see anything very clearly with how dark it is in here.

You're surprised how recognizable the entire environment is, despite the disparate physiology. You have your glasses, though your spacesuit/uniform was left on your own bed. You suppose you were going to have Nadira take you back there so you could change before today's launch...

...Oh gosh that's right the launch-! Nadira needed to wake up...!

Just as you think that, you hear a great and powerful stirring from above. Gravity itself shifts below you as Nadira sits up in bed, her crotch imposing down before squishing on top of you. It's too dark to look at it, but it certainly feels like a vagina. Or at least, it feels like how you'd imagine a vagina would feel at your scale. You were something of a mote against hers.

She didn't seem to even notice, though. You felt her rise up from her bed, march to the sink, and lean over to wet her head and face. As she dried herself off, Nadira looked calmly into the mirror. You heard her, muffled, speak to herself in the mirror.

"Just get dressed... nobody will notice if you shower after the launch, but everybody will notice if you're late. Yes. We won't even be the most disheveled one there. Miss Friya probably stayed up all night playing MMOs the night before launch again. We are pristine. We are perfect. Okay. Off we go."

The odd pep talk was difficult to hear, but you realized all too late that Nadira was just going to toss a sweater, socks, and boots on. Her fur-skirt meant she didn't really see the need to wear pants...but more importantly, she was going out there with you still in her panties--!

Just as you squirm to try to get up, Nadira exits her door, then swiftly crosses her legs as she stands, as though caught off guard by someone. You let out a squeak, which is purely buried against the dark fold smothering your entire body.

"Second Mate Nadira III. Please report to the deck immediately! Your coworkers are waiting! I can't believe I have to round up a bunch of stragglers like this. We're supposed to be professionals." That seems to be Lt. Bitwise. He's a busybody as usual.

"Right away, Sir Bitwise. We are ready."

"...Mmmgyeah..." Mads seems disenchanted from Nadira's princessy speech mannerisms. You hear him march off.

"Three...two...one...okay he's out of earshot. I shouldn't run in these boots, however."

Oh no. She's not going to-!?

The Phosfynx takes off into a sprint, her boots leaving loud and heavy clunks as she books it for the bridge. Or maybe it's just to get away from anyone with higher authority than her who can chew her out for showing up to the launch ceremony eight minutes late without having gotten a real shower yet.

You are once again completely and utterly stifled from getting Nadira's attention, this time her thighs smearing the fabric of her underwear to and fro, slowly but surely tugging it snug against her body and folds, before beginning to swallow it. The more she sprints, the more your face and arms are swallowed by the cavernous flesh above you. Each full-speed turn she takes is driving you further against what must be vulva, but in this darkness may as well be a dark, drooling monster engulfing you whole.

You hear Nadira skid to a harsh stop, and a moment later her panting and the dings of the Main Elevator. Oh...no no.

You still can't get her attention, even now-! You yelp as best as you can, but it's just lost against her very flesh. The vulpine crotch all around you absorbs the pithy sound effortlessly, and while you would easily be audible if you could just get your face off her folds, your humiliation is far from over, as Nadira didn't even tug out her cameltoe before entering the bridge. Though, now that you're no longer below her, a very, very faint trace of light filters in from beyond the wall of her underwear. You can see extremely blurry figures moving back and forth. There seems to be commotion amidst the various officers.

"Nope! Haven't seen her, sorry." Jora chirps with a dismissive sneer.

"Moss?" Jynx barks across the room.

A chair swivels. "Nope, sorry. Dunno where the captain is, either. She's not in her room?"

You feel Nadira's body chill for the slightest of moments. She fidgets in her seat.

Oh. Oh no. She forgot you were a human again, didn't she?

"N-no...Ahh...ahh..." Nadira breathes, her sighs hot and heavy. You freeze, but it's already too late. You can feel the infinite expanse larger than a city above you contract with vibrations that shake you to your very bones. Fluid pools around your body.

Everyone present in the bridge turns.

"Sorry, what was that, Nadira?" Jynx says, not even having realized Nadira was here yet.

"A-aahhihihi...I-I'm c-cummiiiiIIIIING---!" Nadira moans blissfully, her voice completely out of her own control.

Wave after wave of thick, saline juices pour from the unknown darkness directly over you in heavy, merciless waves, shoving you from privacy and against the front of Nadira's panties. Humiliating on its own, but her underwear was so displaced from her run that you found yourself shoved along the sides, the flow of sticky love pouring out onto Nadira's seat, and you along with it. Where everyone, their attention thoroughly captured, were now looking.

Jynx is succinct and professional, silencing everyone else in the room with but a single lift of her paw. "Nadira."

Ramon shouts from across the room. "BULL FUCKING SHIT! Why do you think I keep my doorbell off for everything except ship-wide emergencies? THIS ALWAYS FUCKIN' HAPPENS!!"

Jynx shoots a look at him, and he stops talking. She turns back to Nadira. She is as calm as ever, though her voice lacks her usual playful candor.

"I have only one question. You will answer it succinctly and honestly, are we clear?"

"Y-yes ma'am."

"Did you approach her, or did she approach you?"

"S-she called me to her room last night. She was in just her underwear and asked me to...'support her'."

"..." Jynx is silent for the longest time. A great and palpable tension sits in the air.

"Okie doke! No harm in a little consensual fun, then! As long as you clean up your chair so it doesn't stain, you're squeaky clean. Nobody outside this room has to know."

"R-really!?"

"Oh, of course. Justine's the one in trouble. May I speak with her?"

You feel Nadira's paw shove itself into your prison and pull you free again, your body sticky with Nadira's fluids sticking to you all over. You do your best to sit at attention atop her palm, even though your muscles ache and all you want to do is lay down on her soft paw and fall asleep. Maybe wake up from this very awkward nightmare.

Jynx locks eyes with you, and you feel a chill run down your spine. The short feline alien is nevertheless menacing when she's serious. And well, still monumentally massive to you.

"Captain, we all need to destress from time to time. That's why this vessel has an entire Gallery Deck with a library and a gym and a hundred other things. And your choice of playmate is yours to make at any point. It complicates your relationship with your other crewmates, of course, but you're free to do that if you want. Hell, you can conduct the ship launch from the tip of Second Mate Nadira's waistband, for all I care."

You avert your gaze. Yes you're blushing, but you just imagined you proudly announcing takeoff from Nadira's cute panties and you're struggling not to snicker. You shouldn't. You REALLY shouldn't laugh now of all times.

"However! You are under no circumstances to abuse your power to beget sexual favors from your subordinates, and you should absolutely NEVER delay a vessel like this on Bureaucracy launching orders because you're too busy exploring your coworkers. The Captain's badge is not a license to do whatever you please, and it is extremely questionable to me that this is one of the first things you've done with your newfound authority."

"O-oh. S-sorry, Director. Am I going to be punished for this? I don't want to lose my badge -"

"No. No, you are not going to be punished for this. The embarrassment of almost all your officers getting THIS first impression of you is plenty already. I want one, and only one thing from you right now."

"Y-yes?"

"Go get changed and cleaned up and get back here immediately. We're launching in four minutes, and I am required by law to document your exact circumstances in the black box should you not be on the bridge at that time. So unless you want your little tryst to be immortalized in the ship's logs for the rest of time, both of you had better move your butts." She sticks out her tongue and does a wiggly wave-goodbye.

You and Nadira exchange a nervous glance. You duck and hold on to her palm for dear life as she immediately books it towards the elevator.

Three and a half minutes later, you are dry, clothed, and seated in your Captain's chair, and Nadira, has changed into a pair of spats.

The launching ceremony occurs without incident, though the majesty of the roar of the ship's engines and the sight of the great dark frontier ahead of you is undercut slightly by the rest of your officers sneaking glances at you and giggling, whispering amongst themselves.

Damnit. You were never gonna live this down, were you?

Well... you suppose you'll have plenty of time to try in between here and the first stop on your mission.

Here begins Day One of your adventures as a spaceship captain.

You should probably familiarize yourself a bit more with the Rampant Lovelander. Tour it a little? Meet more crewmates? You ought to spend time anywhere but up here on the bridge.

Hi love your story but magic is forbidden in islam could give some insight on how Muslim wizards and witches deal with that. I'm Muslim and I really enjoyed how you wrote nadra.

Thanks so much for this question! The first thing to be said it that I am not Muslim. Anything I say is obviously an outsider’s interpretation. So I apologize if I inadvertently say something that lands on anyone in a harmful way. (If you feel comfortable enough to tell me that something has landed on you with harm, I am honored to hear it and will listen and reflect to do better in the future.) I have studied Islam, though I am no where near an expert, let alone even someone who is properly knowledgeable. Okay. So all of that said, I think there are a couple ways I could go with this.

1. Magic is also technically forbidden in Christianity. (Behold all the people who banned the HP books and still forbid their children from reading it today.) And yet, Harry Potter clearly lives in a Christian world. (Easter, Christmas, etc). So there is precedent for something being forbidden, but still being practiced within the confines of that culture/religion. Is it even possible to make a (fictional) inference that perhaps the splitting of wizards from muggles lead to a demonization of magic in response? An interesting thought.

2. It is my (very limited) understanding that the Qur’an forbids the use of magic to impersonate a prophet. That no one may use magic or illusions to claim to be speaking for God. While this could be extrapolated to ban all use of magic, it could also be interpreted that the use to which the magic is put is the forbidden element. The hadith may have more specific things to say against magic, I am sure. Though, the prohibitions also seem to build from an understanding that magic comes from djinn and other beings considered demonic. Which does not deny that magics exist, only that they are evil.

In the context of all of this, if one were comfortable with the idea, it would be extremely interesting to explore what it means to be a Muslim and to be born magical. How would one deal with that? I tried to show that Shafiqs clearly chose to isolate themselves from Hogwarts and have their own approaches and understandings of magic. I think it would be really interesting to explore that. Obviously this is not my story to write, as I would be trying to speak to an experience that is not my own and undoubtedly failing and causing harm as I did. But I would LOVE to read it.

I reached out to my friend @ekjohnston, author extraordinaire and generally super supportive YA queen, and she sent me a list of Muslim YA authors who write in the fantasy/magic genre of books. So maybe you could check out their work!  Somaiya Daud, Sabaa Tahir, Karuna Riazi, London Shah, Nafiza Azad, Taherah Mafi, Hafsah Faizel, Hanna Alkaf, Melissa Bashardoust, and I am sure many others.

Personally, I chose to include the Shafiqs as characters, both because it is canon that the Shafiqs are part of the Noble 28, and it helped answer the question I had about what kind of wizards might chose not to go to Hogwarts but might get forced back due to the new laws that last year. I also wanted to make sure it was acknowledged openly in the text that there is far more diversity in the wizarding world than Harry or even Ginny’s POV might have led us to believe. And Ginny as a Christian-coded, white person making mistakes and miss-stepping and realizing some of the prejudices she carries around and not demanding others explain things to her or do the work for her, but learning herself, and realizing she will never know everything but that listening to people tell their own stories is the most important…that is my experience and story to tell.

Dorm Location -

This dorm is surrounded by a vast city and a body of water, with a few firework factories set not too far from the sea. The main area where the Emperor is located is within a palace named The Pavonian, this palace is surrounded by city walls separating it from the houses/factories below and consists of a towering pagoda with seemingly never-ending floors, the important figures of this dorm are situated here, while the rest are in the city or in the factory.

The climate in this dorm is warm but not sweltering, this dorm is located in a rather open and sunny area, it has a lot of room to fire handmade artillery from a safe distance. Konghuang is more active in the night than in the day.

Konghuang's Vice dorm leader, well, on a technicality, you see Heng is the only written authority figure in the dorm, but with how closely Shi works with her it became the consensus.

Wise and a logical advisor, Yazhu Shi 'leads' alongside Heng, often humoring the dorm leader with his sarcastic remarks and metaphorical visions that make Heng seethe in frustration. Sometimes his credibility is questioned in those moments, but trust me, his fortune-tellings speak volumes.

Has made many attempts to stray Heng from the dark path she has taken, but to no avail. He/him pronouns.

What is a ‘Dragon’? (Captian Ed Mercer x Nadira) Part 1

Pairing: Captain Ed Mercer x Nadira (Original Female Character)

Series Synopsis: Nadira is the only Kakorean aboard the Orville and indeed feels lonely no matter how much she denies it to anyone who asks. So Ed decides to reach out to her, hoping to make her feel comfortable. It turns out they bond more than either of them expected.

Author's Notes: This was meant to just be a one-shot, but I didn't want to write a long one-shot, so this is now gonna be a little series. So have fun with that, I guess. 

"Lieutenant Nadira's finished her report about the treaty. She says she sent it to you, Captain." Alara informed Ed, glancing over her shoulder to check if he nodded. 

Glancing down at his comscanner, he received the notification of the document. He nodded "Yep, got it." This was going to be a fun report. It had been a few days since the Navarian-Bruidian conflict and... eventual agreement over Lopovius. 

No one was daring to mention what had happened with Darulio, especially  Ed and Kelly. They were both trying to bang the retepsian. At the same time, the lone Kakorean ran herself silly around the ship to accommodate the two warring species. 

Ed's brows furrowed as he thought about it. "Alara," Ed spoke up, lifting his gaze to the xelayan as she turned to him curiously. "Has Nadira left her office today? At all?" 

"I don't think so, sir. I saw her this morning for breakfast. But once her shift started, she hasn't made a move." Alara's brows as she recalled the movements of her friend, her lips formed into a hard line, slowly nodding her head, confirming to Ed and herself of her thoughts. 

Ed nodded in return, shifting in his chair as he stared at the comscanner. His fingers tapped at the armrest relentlessly. The trail for them was smooth, which was excellent! But it left Ed's head unoccupied, left to swarm with random thoughts. 

The Captain abruptly stood from his chair, telling Kelly that he'd be back soon. The blonde blinked, opening her mouth to question what he was doing, but he was gone before the words could be sounded. With a sigh, Kelly moved to the Captain's chair.

Ed's path was uninterrupted and swift, it wasn't long before he was standing in front of the Relations Office where Nadira resided. He tapped the large button on the screen beside the door. The loud beep earning a hesitant 'Come in.' from the woman inside. Ed stepped inside, looking up to greet the Kakorean. 

Nadira's dark purple eyes shot up from her work. She blinked upon seeing Ed, her scaly ears pointing shooting up to match her expression. "Captain! What brings you here?" She asks, closing her desk screen to give Ed her full attention. 

"Sorry, am I not welcome?" He asked, the corner of his lips quirking upwards in an amused smirk. 

"Huh? No-No-No-No! I just didn't expect--" The Kakorean fumbled, standing from her chair and waving her clawed hands frantically. 

"Nadira. It's alright, I was joking,"  Ed chuckled as he gestured for her to relax. He watched as she returned to her seat, her shoulders slumping along with her wings and ears. Ed found himself smiling softly as he observed the way Nadira would react. It reminded him of Earth's cats, it was cute. 

"My apologies, Captain. Guess I've been tense lately..." Nadira admitted, scratching the side of her head sheepishly. 

"Yeah... about that, uh, do you wanna get a drink? Later tonight." Ed blurted out, quickly shutting his mouth already kicking himself for just suggesting this out of the blue. Was she even comfortable around him? Yeah, he was too forward. Ed raised his hands to dismiss the idea. 

"Drinks? With me?" Nadira interrupted, raising an eyebrow as she gestured to herself. "If I may ask sir; why?" She tilted her head.

Ed sighed, stepping forward to sit on the chair before her desk. Running a hand through his hair, he looked back at Nadira with furrowed brows, while she looked back at him with confusion and curiosity. 

"I feel bad." He said, but Nadira simply continued to tilt her head, subtly requesting that he elaborate. "You, Alara and the rest of the crew were handling everything while I was..." He attempted to choose the right word for what happened, his hands coming up like he was physically trying to build the name. He ultimately huffed in defeat, then shrugging his shoulders "... you know." 

Nadira's lips morphed into a smile, gentle and kind. She spoke softly, "Captain. It wasn't your fault. No one on this ship expected what happened. In fact, I'm still annoyed that I wasn't informed of this, or that the Union didn't know." She chuckled, then shrugging her shoulders. "But that's behind us. Well, we'll remember if we have another retepsian on board."

"Oh, god no." Was Ed's immediate reaction to the idea, surprising the Kakorean. Nadira snorted, swiftly covering her mouth with her hand, but it didn't stop her giggling from being heard. 

"I'm s-sorry, C-Captain," Her wings unfolded from her back, moving to cover her face as she attempted to regain her composure. "That was inappropriate and rude, I'm so sorry!" 

"Hey," Ed stood up, reaching out, placing his hand upon the blue scales of her wing and gently moving the limb away. "It's alright, Nadira. I'm not offended." He offered a little smile. Which grew wider as Nadira's wings to shifted away to show an embarrassing blush on her face. 

Both sat in silence as their eyes shifted, eventually making contact. Ed cleared his throat, stepping back sheepishly while Nadira rubbed the back of her neck similarly. 

"Uh, so are you interested in having a drink?" Ed asked, breaking the timid silence. 

Nadira glanced to the side, then returning her gaze to her Captain. She smiled and nodded. "I am. It sounds nice. Thank you, Captain." 

"Call me, Ed. See you tonight after our shifts. Mess Hall?" He asked.

"Mess Hall." Nadira confirmed, "See you tonight... Ed." His name came out hesitantly like she was testing it out on her tongue. Both smiled at the sound of it before returning to their posts—both anxious for the night ahead.

A friend, an inspiration, as well as make up artist, beauty expert and author of Press Here Face Workouts for Beginners, I am delighted to share with you my conversation with Nadira, to learn more about her tips on skincare, wellbeing and, of course, face workouts.

  S: We are going through a profound period of change. What has been your number one way to keep on top of your wellbeing during this time? How do you stay positive?

  N: Given that we haven’t experienced anything like this in our lifetime what has helped me is to accept the low days and that my feelings are normal. Over the weeks, my moods have changed from feeling close to my usual happy self to utter sadness but the more I gave myself permission to feel what I am feeling, the more I’ve found I can ride that ‘wave’ knowing it’s temporary.

In addition to this, I have made sure I have been outside each day regardless of the weather to exercise ie. going for walks or cycling. Stepping away from devices to observe exterior surroundings or turning to empowering podcasts have allowed me to focus on my breathing and steer myself away from pangs of anxiety.

As a freelancer I’ve missed the buzz of accomplishing goals, big or small, therefore, I’ve turned my focus to strengthening my core and abs which allows me to focus on my breathing, better my alignment and feel physically stronger.

    S: You can now add author to your impressive career. Your recently published book Press Here Face Workouts for Beginners has gone global. What are your top 3 go-to facial exercises that you cannot live without?

  N: I was taught Full Face Circulation from a young age and it has remained a favourite of mine to perform at times when I need a mindful moment to refocus, though ultimately this relieves tension in the mid part of the face around the mouth and jaw.  Face exercises are not only about toning and achieving razor sharp cheekbones, though these goals are very much achievable, however, one must release the stiffness and knots before manipulating key areas, hence why this exercise is a wonderful way to wake up the face.

Eye Sweeps are a brilliant way to quickly disperse fluid under the eye. The light press and sweeping outwards tends to puffiness and ideal to do using an eye cream or eye oil plus it’s a great way to revive under eyes after long periods of screen time.

My Intense Definer exercise tackles trauma lines (marionettes) beside the mouth that can appear through crisis. This exercise not only intensely inactivates muscles but instantly relieves around the mouth, in areas you might be unaware of carrying tension.

    S: What advice would you give our readers on general skin maintenance?

  N: There is no quick fix to healthy skin as it is a long-term commitment that should apply twice daily therefore, always consider the ingredients and integrity of your skincare, tend to your skin as you would nurturing a child’s. Your routine doesn’t have to be complex with a number of steps; a simple streamlined one that works for you is all you need.

    S: You have beautiful skin that has clearly been cared for. How do you respond to people who say your beautiful skin is all down to genetics?

  N: There is some truth that genetics is a factor however, we also pass down personal habits such as no regard for skincare and its importance, as it might be deemed vanity. I’ve met many people of all ages from many walks of life and cultural backgrounds with incredible skin with a few common factors being lifestyle, diet and some form of skin ritual.

My upbringing was centred around foods rich in nutrients, home remedies and looking after your skin. It was drummed into us from a young age almost perceived as ‘common sense’ as if ‘why wouldn’t you moisturise your skin after a shower?’ Tending to my skin is second nature so to those who have no regime, it’s never too late!

    S: How did you know you wanted a career in beauty?

  N: Since a young age I had a keen interest in the Arts, History and Music and it was evident I was more creative than academic. It wasn’t until I dropped out of an Art Foundation Course after getting 3 unconditional offers with A grades that a Careers Advisor suggested job titles such as Fashion Designer and Make-up Artist, which I thought were unobtainable, yet I swiftly applied and was accepted on to Theatre Studies (Make up) BTEC HND at the London College of Fashion in the early 90’s. This 2 year course allowed me to apply my interests creatively and learn steadfast skills. As a Make-up Artist I find this still appeals to my love of art even though I’ve just switched medium.

      S: A request from one of our readers – what are your top 3 natural make up tips for over 50s?

N:

To get the most out of your lashes invest in quality eyelash curlers for optimum lift and to steer you towards the appearance of wider eyes. Along with this, consider mascaras from natural brands which offer nourishing ingredients which are also ideal for sensitive eyes. 1. Describe your novel in 1-2 sentences (elevator pitch)

A young woman leaves her privileged life as a spy-in-training to rescue her mom from the midst of a rebel uprising on another planet.

2. How long do you plan for your novel to be? (Is it a novella, single book, book series, etc.)

Somewhere around 120k words. It’s currently a standalone, but I could easily do a sequel or series.

3. What is your novel’s aesthetic?

Vast, lush utopian cities. Ocean waves crashing. Deep black space beyond tall windows.

4. What other stories inspire your novel?

Many sci-fi books and movies, naturally, but if I had to name names—Snowpiercer, Dark City, and Blade Runner. The books Ancillary Justice by Ann Leckie and The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood. Most of all, Banner of Souls and Winterstrike by Liz Williams. Obscure, weird as hell, and totally engrossing.

Quin Gadara

7. Who is their closest ally?

Her mentor, Maddox. Her implanted armor came from his, and he’s training her to become a spy like him. They share a subconscious bond, so he can sense if she’s afraid or in pain no matter how far apart they are.

8. Who is their enemy?

Primarily Nadira, a silver-tongued hacker.

9. What do they want more than anything?

To reach her mother before anything terrible happens to her.

10. Why can’t they have it?

It’s going to take three weeks to travel from Gallanthius to the planet where Quin’s mom is being held. Quin can only hope she’s all right, and that the wrong people haven’t gotten there first.

11. What do they wrongly believe about themselves?

She doesn’t always have faith in her abilities, and doesn’t always believe she’s spy material.

12. Draw your protagonist! (Or share a description)

She’s tall, like 6’5, with very long curly hair, brown skin, and a surfer’s physique. She has a warm smile and dark eyes. She often carries a sniper rifle, but thinks it’s a bit overkill.

Nadira intends to capture them. If she succeeds, they will be tortured and their memories wiped.

Maddox and Ash’s mentor, Aneke, has to do with everything.

There are three main settings,

Gallanthius—the heart of the empire, a city grown in the impact crater where an ark hit the planet. From space, it looks like an enormous eye surrounded by ocean. A rocky mountain range rings a shallow sea, which encircles the city. The cream-colored marble buildings are still growing although some of them reach past the stratosphere. Pink-blossoming trees are ubiquitous year-round.

The starship—a labyrinth, the size of about 5 Enterprises stuck together. It’s been abandoned for centuries and in most places it’s impossible to tell humans were ever there.

Sancta Salubria—a city on planet Hale, where Quin’s mom has been taken. It’s situated between ocean and desert, centered around a famous shrine, and covered in apple trees.

21. Do you have any images or scenes in your mind already?

Yes, lol. I’ve been working on this book for 2 years and some months now. Currently slogging through the second draft.

22. What excited you about this story?  

The world. The stakes. A small cast, so the character arcs are complex (sometimes overwhelmingly)

23. Tell us about your usual writing method!  

I have a disaster of a notebook that I jot down ideas in, and iron out issues when I get stuck. I started with a general outline, but I still wing it pretty often. I like to listen to music, mostly industrial and electro.

My Review: I listened to this on audiobook and really enjoyed the narrator who captured the essence of being a brown girl and woman. The author captured all the nuisances in a spoken word format!

MY REVIEW

The awesome cover for This Time does not foreshadow the terrifying opening pages. Are you claustrophobic? Afraid of being buried alive?

Nadira is a warrior, a demon hunter, but there is more than meets the eye to her since her resurrection.

Humans and the supernatural world existed side by side. Would they live to regret it? Can you ever trust a demon?

Is she their secret weapon?

Jamie is a character I quickly became enamored with. She takes all the abuse Nadira heaps on her with a smile on her face. She wants to be her friend. She’s got her back whether she accepts her help or not. I become more and more curious about her and what will become of her. I love when an author creates a minor player that becomes as important to me as the main character.

This Time was a nice surprise and a bit different kind of demon/human and other supernaturals in a battle between good and evil. Nadira is a fascinating character and, while I wonder where she will end up, I feel she couldn’t get there without Jaime.
