If given the motivation I would ramble more about Trod, specifically Tyren and how he's my little dude but also a character who's behavior I've based on being a victim of obsession and idolization myself and how it's very cathartic to write a character exhibiting all the traits, both good and bad I've experienced in the Lamb's position and then knowing exactly how his story ends
That and some Narinder rambles and how Lamb is more comfortable with him than a sweet dog that surely shows more respect for them (idolization that does not see them as a person)
edit: nevermind I did end up rambling. Some TROD spoilers
its great I love this stupid dog and his scheming ways and writing just *why* he's doing what he's doing with genuine belief it's to better protect what and who he loves without actaully taking into account the subject of his affection's feelings on the whole matter. He would never hurt the lamb physically but clearly that three eyed cat is nothing but stress for them (and is he wrong? is Narinder not a source of stress? We are not light in the 'enemies' part of the friends to enemies to friends to lovers part of the trope)
Though the difference between Narinder and Tyren, the rehabilitation and the corruption, although all entitlement, is agency.
Narinder often touts himself as uncaring and hostile to the Lamb and is still angry from the betrayal, as they are, but their agency is still considered even in anger.
In the Fox chapter where Narinder wishes to sacrifice Grekimar and Tyren, Lamb refuses. They argue about it and Lamb stands their ground, Narinder is unhappy about it but does not go behind their back and sacrifice cultists anyway when he very well could.
After reuniting after the fight when Leshy is revived, Narinder and Lamb argues heavily over the subject of whether or not Narinder is allowed to kill Leshy, someone who harmed both him AND the Lamb severely, and even though he's bitter about it, Narinder acknowledges the Lamb was not given a choice prior and will sacrifice his own revenge and comfort so the Lamb can have their agency returned, at least a little bit.
^^^ This one is a complicated one because between both characters, neither killing the bishops nor keeping them alive would result in both characters getting what they want, with reasonable desires for it (wanting to have choice again, wanting revenge on their tormentors, ect)
so Narinder essentially sacrifices his comfort for the Lamb, someone who is constantly sacrificing pieces of themselves and sanity to keep everything in peace
It works the otherway around as well: Narinder demanding talismans and God Tears and Relics from the Lamb and they agree, not because they're required to do what he says but because that's their friend, and they trust him enough to help him with whatever he's doing
(and back to the argument where the refusal to sacrifice two followers was in exchange for some of their heart, Narinder refuses and breaks the deal off immediatly even though the Lamb was willing. The Lamb is obviously more important than whatever goal he had in mind, essentially scrapping his partnership with the Fox and method to gain power because he didn't want his usurper to be weakened. and other things.)
I won't talk about EVERY instance of this because this is already a long post, but overtime the two are forming communication, compromise, and even in anger, there is a respect there that puts them on the same level as equals.
Tyren does not really fall into that.
Tyren would never, and I mean NEVER hurt the Lamb physically. He would never yell at them, never be angry with them, never be upset with them, because he does not see them enough as a person to feel those things around them. And if the Lamb does disagree with him or make him upset, he will simply....disregard their current feelings on the situation and do what he thinks is best for him and them, even if it goes directly against their wishes.
And unlike Narinder, he would do it behind their back to stay in their good graces.
Tyren does care for the Lamb. Genuinely. He did long before that necklace was around his neck. He was already a little obsessed before the loyalty necklace was on him, it just gave him a slight edge.
He respects them but also doesn't. He takes their rejection at the party in stride and is completely unphased by it, completely understanding, but also plots to kill someone the Lamb called a 'friend' because the three-eyed hermit is clearly stressing them out and it makes no sense as to why they're crusading with him, or spending time with him when he's been nothing but a murderer and a blight.
I think a good summary of all this ramble is that when the Lamb tells Narinder to leave Tyren alone, Narinder goes 'whatever i fucking hate you and this stupid cult anyways. die forever' but does what they ask, while Lamb tells Tyren to please leave Narinder alone, and Tyren goes 'sure! :) anything for you my lamb' and digs up a corpse and drops it's mashed remains outside of the cat's hut with a fake letter from the Lamb saying it's 'breakfast'.
Narinder and Tyren are both very selfish, but in different ways
None of this probably makes sense
It is also 6AM

I love your white collar AU, narinder being a dad has gotta be one of my favorite things ever
can you share some random wholesome facts?
Sure lmao
Narinder homecooks almost all his kids’ food and feels really bad that he’s barely decent at it
Heket, in her district, is notorious for putting on a disguise and frequenting restaurants without warning to satisfy her cravings, so the restaurants must always be on their A game
Forneus owns a little book shop
Narinder spent the first year of being a father to Aym and Baal passing out at his desk with Parenting 101 books

Rambling again about Narinder!
> 100% realizing no matter how you look at this cat. Trust issues and emotional constipation are his issues.
This is without deviating from the cannon lore you get from dialouge. He has been locked away for a number of years by siblings he once trusted. Yes, he had Aym and Baal to keep company but look me in the eyes and tell me he comes out emotionally stable during that time.
Parts I semi headcannon, is that one a millennium of being locked away, makes physical touch weird to him. It's not a negative weird but a "it's been too long I know this is good feeling but it's too much" weird. It would take him time to readjust to any form of physical touch that wasn't explicitly under his control.
He won't admit to this either, but rather come up with the excuse that one does not simply touch a god. The whole Narilamb ship in my head is literally. Lamb helps Narinder through what is touch. What is living again. Lamb in story is aware their god is just "a little" fucked up. They love him anyway and want to see him happy. (Another ramble for another time, but Lamb in my story intended to bend the knee. Lamb is the opitiomy of "so long as you're happy")
Part 2 of headcannon, he very much has that bad, "I will ignore till I'm not mad" habit. It comes easy as he survived 1000 years in Purgatory. What's a few days... decade or two of silence to the one that betrayed them.
It's such a slow rekindle to be on speaking terms with the Lamb again.
Though I like the idea of revenge right off the bat, cuase he's angry. There is something that feels fitting to a stew of anger he's really had no way of releasing prior. He reacts in retaliation in the moment of betrayal, but after indoctrination, he's spent. From god to a more mortal like form, it takes a toll.
So he stews, while the Lamb is now dealing with the fallout. Passively watching and ignoring the lamb if they come to talk to him.
(Though if the Lamb skips routine, the Cult watches as he begins stalking the grounds for them. Of course, he doesn't miss their ramblings. He hates their guts. 🙃)
There's more in this head stew of mine, but for another time, cuase words are hard >3>
>Narinder be bo bum borinder

Gonna be honest, no idea what that last asker was talking about when they said Narinder deserved purgatory more. The guy is messed up, don't get me wrong, but the sheep genocide was completely out of his control. There isn't even any evidence that he got locked up for anything other than inventing a way to revive followers!
Narinder is much more palatable than the bishops and the fandom tends to forget that making him pissy/angry all the time is actually pretty ooc (ESPECIALLY considering the time it took between updates). He liked you as a god, he was mad for a while as a follower, AND THEN HE SAID HE RESPECTED YOU AS A GOD BEFORE YOU EVEN FULLY FINISHED HIS QUEST LINE!
Tldr; Narinder isn't as bad as the bishops, torture is cringe unless it's character building :)
That cat spent a thousand years being punished, let him rest. He’s been punished for his betrayal, a thousand years of it. During the game his crime is trying to escape a prison that he would never be allowed out of. He’s given no opportunity to reform, no time to rest and no end in sight.
I do enjoy it when follower Narinder is a bitch, I just want him to be mean to me is that too much to ask?
I’m a chronic adhd rambler and I hate scrolling by long posts. More thoughts on Narinder under the cut.
I do think this bit of dialogue is telling.
Tumblr media
If you resurrect he seems to imply that resurrection is what started him towards his betrayal. He points out specifically that that there are no other gods to stop you from playing with life and death, this action makes him see himself in The Lamb. His reaction to the funeral is more reserved. Maybe he’s disappointed, maybe he feels some level of relief that you wouldn’t repeat his actions, maybe a bit of both.
And there’s his dialogue after his defeat.
Tumblr media
I was originally gonna say something about his murder dialogue but I got distracted by how fucked up he is. Narinder, baby, I know you’re the god of death but begging to die is not normal.
But yeah the point that he seems to respect the Lamb’s godhood kinda supports my game theory that the Lamb is more death than Narinder. At the end of his godhood Nari was corrupt, driven by revenge and power. Depending on your actions as the Lamb you are now either walking the same corrupt path as he did, respecting the natural order of life and granting rest, or a bit of both.
I do think its easiest to love Narinder out of all of the npcs in the game. Yeah okay he’s evil in that good tumbly sexler man kinda way but he’s also the character with the most content. He has the most dialogue, you meet with him the most, he’s got the hardest boss battle with unique mechanics. I get why he’s the fan favourite and why people like Narilamb, what gayer than being character foils? Nothing.
He’s my little meow meow and I’m mean to him cause I love him. Mwah.

Another narinder ask!! When his s/o reveals they are with child and how he acts
I LOVE NARINDER YOU HAVE NO IDEA!!
╭──╯ . . . . .⍣ ೋ
INCLUDES: a romantic Narinder/Reader
CONTAINS: wholesome romance and Narinder trying his best, there really needs to be angst soon-
REQUESTED BY: this anon!
INSPIRED BY: this song
SUMMARY: you are with Nari's child!
TITLE: "fortunately, even death itself can birth life"
⍣ ೋ. . . . . ╰──╮
Tumblr media
Narinder as at shock when you told him the news of having his child.
For context; the lamb in their red coat decided for you to be with Narinder, knowing you were just the right person for him to spend time with. One thing led to another and you both wedded not too long ago, maybe a few months or so?
he honestly thought he could NEVER be able to give life, to anything, much less a child!
but seeing your expression looking so delicate and serene, filled with a soft look of joy. it further cemented into his memory that this was his reality, it was too good to be true and yet he can't help but let all his three eyes sting themselves with ichored waters.
Narinder would hug you, not tightly, but he made it firm. He was just so happy, he may have been a former god but he knows deep inside he will always be death no matter who took over his crown.
And right now, he is the death who has helped with life and he's not letting anyone take that away.
when your little kit was born, they would have his fur and they have your eyes, perhaps it was the other way around.
Either way, Narinder was enamoured and immediately cradled your child with love and a huge whiplash of feeling nervous, maybe that was why he paused for a little moment before beholding your child.
he helped you with the little infant and stars, he loved this child with his whole undead heart.
Narinder won't admit it to the Lamb but he thanks them for meeting you , you were by far the greatest thing to happen in his immortalized life along with his newborn.
perhaps he can teach them how to use a scythe or he can teach them how to cook like you even though he's bad at it himself.
for now, he will stare into his child's eyes and see you in them everytime.
he prays to any higher being than him that his child would walk upon roads of gold and pearls.

Character Analysis on: Narinder (The One Who Waits)
Where we try to analize what really drove Narinder to betray the bishops of the Old Faith in the first place.
As a warning, the game leaves a lot to interpretation so a lot of gaps here and there will be filled with some theories and headcannons but you're welcome to ignore that and just take the pure analysis!
Alrigthy, lets begin!! (Rambles below)
Tumblr media
He who lays a soul to rest...
But before we can talk about the time he was a God, we need to talk about the time before the red crown sat upon his brow.
We need to see the time when he was a mortal. As we know, all gods in COTL were once mere mortals, ascended by the power of the crowns.
This is the part where i mostly play with some headcannons so feel free to jump to the next tittle.
Before Godhood.
Now, we know Narinder is a black cat. This is one of the things that make his design so attractive. The god of death is a black cat and he has all the mysticism and mythology of this kind of cats attached to it. It's a great design!!
The thing is, before godhood, Narinder was STILL a black cat, without his god status, he was subjected to the whim of the mortals. And we now our dark furry friends don't have the best reputation...
This is mostly headcannon, but i think Narinder as a mortal had a pretty bad time. Everytime something went wrong in whatever village or place he was, he was quickly the first one to be accused, shunned out and despised. Seeing as a omen of bad luck and death himself, he could never find a place to call home.
We know the devs used the lamb as their main critter because lambs were one of the prefered animals to use as sacrifices for gods. But you know black cats are ALSO sacrificial animals?
Have you ever seen those PSA in halloween were it will say things like "If you have a black cat as a pet, please take care of it. Weirdos at this time of the year kill black cats for their weird ass rituals" or stuff like that?
Well, with this i mean that cats like Narinder, their blood was not even worthy to be spilled in the name of the gods... But in the name of demons or other kind of bad spirits...
Heck that must suck.
I know the game itself never gives us an indicative to say that black cats or any other kind of critter faces discrimination. But the only thing i have to defend this theory of mine is Forneus!
Tumblr media
We all know sweet ol' Forneous. Cute shopkeeper, mother of Aym and Baal. Sweetest thing but have you noticed she never stays in the same place for too long?
We have a lot of NPC's we can find during crusades but that they also have a place where thay stay mostly and call home. Think of Plimbo, Midas, Sozo, Ratau and his friends.
"But Boku! There are other NPC's that are only found in Crusades and don't have another place where we can find them!" While yes but that's because those NPC don't have neither of this 2 characteristics:
1. They play a part of an important mechanic (Like selling seed, followers, teaching us new things, etc)
2. They have some kind of lore relevance
If an NPC doesn't play part of a game mechanic like fishing, or have a bit of lore to them, then why would they need a place to stay where we can find them besides crusades? The thing is that Forneus has these 2 characteristics.
She's a shopkeeper and the only way we can find the little gifts, some blueprints, follower forms, and even gold! And she has lore relevance as the mother of Aym and Baal and (Alledgedly) one of the few followers of the One Who Waits before the Lamb started the cult.
Heck she's all done! She could have her own little shop at any of the locations of the game where you can go to buy things (Maybe even have a "trade" kind of mechanic) where we can get more gifts for the followers, collars, and etc.
But she doesn't! And that's weird! She doesn't seem like the kind of NPC that deserves the treatment of "It has only 1 gimmick and that's it".
So, unless there's something that keeps her from having here own very shop at a specific place and instead has to be always traveling, Always moving around...
That's just a theory, tho!!
Going back to Narinder, as a summary, he had a pretty bad time as a mortal. That until Shamura found him and he was bestowed the red crown. Narinder had finally found a family, a place to call home, and on top of that was granted the blessing of godhood!! Things were meant to go swell for our favorite wet cat, right.....
Right....?
During GodHood.
Now Narinder was the god of Death in training, what an honor!! It is said that the bishops we know were kind of around before the purge of the gods ocurred (Shamura was there, called "A young god of war" by the ancient tablets).
So, things are going well for your found family, you're enjoying your time with your spider sibling and squid bro, helping to raise up a little frog and a squiggly worm who are also meant to be crown bearers.
All goes well until BAM! The purge begins. We don't have information on how it happened, or what incited it. We just know it was the biggest bloodshed ever seen, leaving only the bishops we know as survivors.
Narinder was still quite young when this happened. He saw how gods that were supposed to be friends or family betrayed each other during this war. He saw that not even goodhod was truly eternal.
Shamura and Kallamar were old enough to not be as affected by it. Leshy and Heket to young to remember all the details. But Narinder? Narinder was at an age, as an infant god, to be deeply affected about what war meant, and the things, horrible things people are able to do to get atop of a power struggle.
But at least he has his family. He had the bishops. They would never do such a thing! They were brothers in arms, there was nothing they couldn't do together, they would never turn their backs on each other! There was nothing they couldn't understand.
And so, the years went by. The purge of the gods transforming more into a myth, no longer considered history to be told. Things were calm but...
Narinder noticed something that deeply worried him. Things were not fair between him and his brothers...
Never say his name.
Shamura, Kallamar, Heket and Leshy... They were loved, adored by the mortals.
Narinder?.... Narinder was feared. Every mithology in this world has always being a little to afraid to even speak the name of the gods of death outloud, fearing them more than they loved them. Think of Hades.
"The Greek god Hades was the lord of the underworld, which actually gave him more authority over maintaining the balance of the universe than nearly any other deity. Still, the Greeks greatly feared him and saw it as unlucky to draw his attention. To avoid saying his name, they often used epithets for Hades instead."
It wouldn't be to crazy to think Narinder was given a similar treatment by the mortals, considering HE was the BISHOP OF DEATH.
For Lamb sake, he's literally the ONLY BISHOP WHO USES A VEIL. He was so freaking feared, mortals couldn't even bare to see his face.
Tumblr media
It must be hard, seeing your brother be showered in adoration, love, affections, and prays that elevate their names. While all you receive is fear, wails, and prayers that beg to keep you away...
It must be hard, to be a god. And yet, feel as unloved as you once did, when you were nothing but a little kid.
This, my brothers in Lamb. This is what incited that first spark of jealosy, that would later develop into something nastier, that would end in the fall of the Old Faith all together.
End of the Part 1.
That's it for the first part of this character analysis!! Bare with me because part 2 will come very soon!! Your bovine brother in lamb says bye for now!

Comments with the pieces btw!! and 30+ pics I think?! So expect a long ass post. :) this isn't even all the unposted art, just the stuff I thought was good enough to post!
First thing's first! How about a comic I never posted? I was kinda embarrassed by the writing of it, but this WAS just something to help Rue. (You might notice a lot of the art in this thread was sent to Rue and never posted. Sorry Rue. little of this is new for you. sone is tho. orzzzzz)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Woah? The lamb has feelings? The lamb has bad feelings about their past?? Who knew. Shocker. (also LMFAO AT NARI IN THIS HE REALLY SAID "oh ur crying? I'll give you a reason to cry")
Tumblr media
something to kind of help storyboard out the animation i'm tryna work on. its not going well. turns out that shit is hard.
Tumblr media
and some beyond the grove narinder. yall eat BTG nari UPPPPPP.
speaking of BTG? how about some panels of a future page? Chapter 1 still. feel free to laugh at how strangely i draw the draft. ti works for me!

and of course, the least toxic totally-not-abusive-as-fuck pairing of lamb and the red crown. this isnt exclusively BTG related but I dont know how much interest people would have with him being a character on FOTL? he is 1000% having his own role as his own charavter in BTG though.
Tumblr media
oh, and this guy i wanted to post forever ago, but i needed time to adjust to his design. this is the best i have made of him and it might be what sticks. he's leshy's uncle. (took worm baby in after both his siblings went missing)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
more nari, because he's my most popular scrumplie. probably bc i draw him the most and a lot of my stuff is nari centric. nude nari because i literally couldn't think up what i wanted to draw on him. i was gonna edit clothes on later and forgor BAHAHAHA

Absolutely love the direction Massive Monster took with the bishops this update, ESPECIALLY Shamura, they’re SO similar to the Norse god Odin (also a god of wisdom) like they both are presidents of the club of ‘fucked around and found out and made it everyone else’s problem’
Like, what an insane mad scientist archetype they are, encouraging Narinder to destroy the laws of nature because they were oh so curious as to what would happen too, and what happened was bad trouble on the horizon and family drama out the whazoo, like most real world mythologies you read about. Idk I just love how connected this game feels to real life mythologies, with a good dose of cosmic horror beyond our comprehensions to taste. It’s like kid me and adult me boiled our interests and collective religious trauma together and Cult of the Lamb got spat out, this game is so perfectly tailored to my little gremlin brain.

Excuse me while I scream a bit about The Rehabilitation of Death by @bamsara for a bit, about something I think I picked up but haven't been able to put into words. Some of it they've clearly talked about before, and the rest I may be completely wrong about.
Maybe this is some of my interpretation of the Lamb and Narinder, but Bam's influenced a lot of that for me when they dragged me kicking and screaming into this fandom, but shh!
They've talked about love between Narinder and Lamb before. Their devotion to and respect for each other, and just how much they care for each other. I think Trod Bad End says a lot about that. With how Narinder is ready to burn the world down just to bring the Lamb back, and I'm sure the Lamb shares some of, if not all, the same feelings.
But their love has claws and teeth, I think it hurts them just as much as it uplifts them. It's blooded and a gaping wound, aching and there's nothing they can really do about it. Not that they'd probably be willing to do anything about it. And I think some of that hurt is just caused by their grief.
Narinder's already been betrayed by his siblings, siblings which he did love. Dearly, in fact, and still does no matter how much he denies it and how angry he is. He would've killed them, if not for the Lamb, but he's still keeping them. Hurting them, but they're in his reach. He's not letting them go, keeping them close and alive in some way. I don't think he could kill them for real, or would be happy if he did. They loved him too, I'm sure. As proven by Shamura sending him gifts and the offerings left on his alter. There is love lost here, whether Narinder or any of the Bishops are willing to admit it or not.
He loves the Lamb just as much, which is why the betrayal hurt so much. I think he's lashing out at the Lamb just like he did with his siblings. A fresh wound left to fester ripped open all over again. It hurts, and makes it seem like everyone in his life is eventually going to turn around and stab him in the back. He lost his family, and it seems like he's loosing the one he loves too. Even if it's not true, that's probably how it seems.
And the Lamb is the last of their kind. There's no one else like them anymore, their loved ones are gone. They lost their family, and isn't even really able to grieve them before they're sent on this mission to kill their tormentors. But that does give them an outlet, something to quell the rage for a little bit at least. And a bit motivator after a while. Along with a new family.
The Lamb loves Narinder, there's no real question about that. But their love asks them to kneel and sacrifice themselves to him, and they can't. They can't do that. They don't know what Narinder had planned for them, they couldn't have known. But the person they love is asking for something the Lamb just can't give him. They love him, but this isn't something they can bend on.
I'm running out of words and I don't know how to put my thoughts on Lambert down. But I think they parallel Narinder in a certain way, and grief is some kind of motivator for both of them. I hope I made some kind of sense here, and may just be reiterating something that is glaringly clear or talking out of my ass.
Anyway, if you haven't read Trod, go read it right now. It's really good.

Hello! Love your multiple Lambs and your artstyle! You, me, @poppy-purpura, and @agnusloomis are the only ones I know of currently with multiple Lambs. Tell me of your Sorrow and Fondness Lamb, and also the Showman. How did those two come to be? Drink water plenty. May a kind week grace you.
Yayayaya! At first I tried to resist having so many AUs... but in the end it's something that makes me happy, even if I'm not able to write/draw a good story for everyone in the end.
Tumblr media
Oh yes rambling time LETS GO!! (notice that a LONG post is coming)
Suemy (Fondness & Sorrows AU) This is born from a kind of "What if" from Chain for a promise, in which instead of Avana being the last lamb, the one who survives is her twin sister Suemy.
If you have had the opportunity to read my little ramblings previously you will have an idea of what this entails, if not I will tell you already: in CFP the tragedy occurs two days before Suemy's wedding, she and her partner being the first to die, followed by the parents of the family and finally Caleb (the older brother) who dies protecting Avana.
However, in F&S the formula changes: Caleb and Suemy's partner are the first to die in order to give the sheeps time to escape, but this does not last more than a couple of days since both are found easily and in an attempt desperate to protect her sister, Avana dies, leaving Suemy alone as the lamb of the prophecy.
Tumblr media
Suemy is someone sweet, kind, I originally designed her based on the image of a princess with a heart of gold and a soft and melodious voice. So here she is now, heartbroken, alone, incapable of attachment, completely detached from the cult and fulfilling a mission assigned to her while grief suffocates her. She becomes an untouchable and perfect figure in the eyes of her followers, but inside so small with a wound that she herself refuses to let heal and that bleeds her heart every day.
But, "oh lucky one... A god has set his eyes on her.
In two lives immersed in the sadness of loss and betrayal, both meet to perhaps repair a little of the damage accumulated by the passage of time and repressed feelings.
Narinder was initially hardened by the pain and frustration of his siblings' betrayal, combined with the helplessness of being dependent on someone else to free himself. A whirlwind of strong and changing emotions within him that blind his vision, focusing only on a revenge calculated for more than a thousand years without rest...
But a hardened heart is capable of softening in the face of the purest tears, and with a delicate hand the wounds can be sutured..."
This AU is a kind of Post-Canon bad ending Hurt/Comfort. There is not much plot to tell, it focuses mainly on the thousand and one ways in which Narinder cares for and pampers the lamb in order to make her feel good, while at the same time the desire for revenge (the main reason for being freed) is replaced with the desire to protect such a delicate flower that bleeds in his hands.
Tumblr media
.......
Now, about The Showman... Funny story
This lamb was supposed to be my Lambsona, something for personal use to scribble among my class notes... But little by little it evolved.
Tumblr media
The Box AU is a sort of "bin of discarded ideas" (it basically has all the ideas, scenes, and dynamics that I decided to leave out or modify from CFP but still enjoy). The Box AU is totally self-indulgent and I'm still amazed today at how far I've come in thinking about this AU (I've even considered twisting it a bit and turning it into an original story).
Anyway, the story in a nutshell: In short the game was broken.
Tumblr media
Einar is a black sheep, they was separated from the group due to superstitions, but they never took It the wrong way. They became a kind of traveler/storyteller when they abandoned their flock, thanks to this they was the last lamb to survive.
The lamb is strong... Too strong actually, but they lacks any battle skills which makes them die often (it's based on my save file, because despite playing on easy mode I'm terrible at combat). Frustrated with this, they decides to find another way to complete their mission of freeing The One Who Waits.
By chance, they discovers a book with ancient knowledge of the gods of the ancient faith, where there are multiple rituals forgotten by time. Thanks to this, they learn a way to invoke the god of death and free him from his punishment!! ...But with the price that he is now trapped in a mortal body with his powers reduced and a suppressed rage towards the lamb.
Even so, Einar considers it a victory and offers to help him rebuild, expand and please the cult, so that through devotion his powers return, but of course, the crown is missing.
It turns out that the crown is "stuck" to Einar's head, as they were designated as the perfect vessel, which is why the crown rejects the cat's attempts to retrieve it. On one occasion Narinder reviews the ancient book of the lamb and discovers a possible solution to his problem... A union ritual. Once he and the lamb unite the power of the crown will be divided, then it will be a matter of getting rid of the usurper.
Either way, this won't be so easy. Since in this AU Narinder and the lamb don't really know each other (the ritual happens before confronting Leshy). So there you see Narinder behind the lamb trying to convince him of a marriage while Einar rejects him a thousand and one times without the slightest interest and trying to discover a way to grow the cult.
I love the dynamic between these two in this AU. A combination of comedy, silliness, misunderstandings, adorableness, and a manhwa-style romance (because hey, the marriage of convenience trope has to come from somewhere).
Tumblr media
I like to imagine that between Narinder's frustrated attempts to conquer/convince Einar, he gradually develops a special affection for them, while for his part the lamb sees the god as a companion, a friend and someone with whom maybe they wants to identify himself in some way (you know... A black sheep and a black cat)
And well! This is a kind of summary/introduction!!
I'm sorry for making such a LONG text, but I really like thinking about them and the idea of sharing a bit of my brainrot was too tempting to contain...
F&S doesn't have much material currently, but I'm drawing a couple of sketches from time to time (still figuring out how to do Narinder's post-imprisonment design).
On the contrary, Box AU has a considerable amount of material, scenes, ideas, sketches and even its own shitten with a sequel! So if you're interested in that let me know and I'll make a super post dedicated to this AU.
Have a wonderful day!!

after being reminded of how much narilamb dominates the cotl space, I remembered this little lambket/shroomwool idea and decided to write it out. Admittedly it's a little light on Lamb/Heket interaction as its TOWW POV, but I feel some people will just be happy this exists at all. enjoy.
The One Who Waits laughed heartily as the lamb emerged before them, having just slaughtered Kallamar. Leshy had already fallen and the path to Heket has been open for some time. “Kallamar was always a coward. This land is a better place now his pathetic, sniveling carcass is nothing more than a mound of rotting flesh.” Narinder grinned with malicious delight. Another traitorous sibling fallen. Another step towards freedom. This lamb was all they were prophesized to be. “Now. Finish what you started in Anura. I do not blame you for seeking Kallamar after he showed his cowardly nature, but Heket still lives. Strike while they remain vulnerable.” He could see the lamb shift their weight. They were trying to hide it, but they were clearly uncomfortable with what their lord had commanded. Narinder thought back to the lamb’s last encounter with his sister in Anura. The lamb had hesitated when Heket left. They stood there, as if afraid, before they continued. “Do you fear her?” The lamb was startled, clearly woken from thought. “Do you fear Heket?” The lamb shook their head, the bell they wore jingling quietly. “No, my lord. I do not.”
Narinder regarded their vessel for a moment. “…why did you hesitate?” The lamb looked confused, so Narinder clarified. “Whenever you face my sister, you hesitate before continuing your crusade. I thought it fear, at first, but you claim otherwise. So why delay? Why go to Anchordeep when she laid defenseless? Speak.” The lamb hesitated, purposefully avoiding his gaze. “I just wanted to get some crystals. The lighthou-”
“L A M B.” Narinder cut them off, “do you take me for a fool? Even now, you clearly do not wish to face the yellow crown. I demand the truth. Or else.” The lamb cowered slightly at the threat. They wringed their hooves and mumbled an answer. “Speak up!” Narinder growled. The lamb repeated, but still too quiet to be distinct. “LAMB!”
“I SAID I THINK YOUR SISTER’S HOT, ALL RIGHT?!?” The lamb’s confession echoed through the quiet gateway as the three cats present stared at the vessel in communal disbelief. “You…what?” The lamb crossed their arms and looked away as their face turned red as carmillas. “…your sister's attractive…so I feel a bit bad about killing her.”
It took all of Narinder’s strength not to lose his composure. “…but letting her watch the others fall is much better? You are crueler than I gave you credit for.” The lamb slunk at his words. “Either way, you must slay her to free me.”
The lamb looked between death’s attendants, mulling something over, before addressing their god once again. “My lord…when I free you, I assume I will return to mortality, yes?” Narinder could not suppress a growl of irritation, which was shortly echoed by Aym. “Why is this important? You have angered me enough.” The lamb took two steps forward, their uncertainty disappearing. “I would like to request a reward. For all I have done in your name. I would think such is fitting, yes.” Narinder could guess what they wanted. What charm has his sister put over his vessel? …No. Heket knew nothing of charm, magically or otherwise. This delusion was purely of the vessel’s mind. “If you think I will spare Heket her due punishment for your sake, lamb, you are gravely mistaken. Even if I were to grant her mercy, she would not be with you any sooner than she would bow to ME. Enough delusions. Go.” And with that, the lamb relented, returning to their cult. As they left, Narinder sighed, wishing to relax and forget about the lamb’s horrid delusion.
“To think the prophesized lamb would be such an unworthy vessel.” Aym broke the short-lived silence. Narinder hissed at him, causing them to shrink away. They knew they were not given permission to speak. Baal also flinched, having been cut off from speaking their mind as well. “It matters not,” their master assured themselves, “as even if the lamb offered such, Heket would never accept it.”
“I can’t believe Heket actually accepted.” Narinder spoke to himself as Heket walked the aisle of the temple, the music drowning out his words. His siblings, now mortal, stood beside Narinder. Leshy mirrored his disbelief, thinking the lamb must have made some sort of bribe or threat. Kallamar, ever the soft fool, was more concerned with the beauty of the event and couple as they pointlessly tried to wipe the happy tears from their eyes. Shamura, of course, was simply happy for their sister and stood quietly with them in the front row.
Despite both betraying him and cutting all of them down twice over, the lamb had somehow made peace with his siblings and won over his sister’s heart. If it was not happening in front of Narinder, they wouldn’t believe it. Heket’s smile faded for a moment as they looked at their disapproving brother, which made his cold heart sink, but she continued to smile brightly as she took her place at the lamb’s side. Narinder watched the ceremony but didn’t care for the words. Looking at his sister, he tried to remember the last time he saw such a genuine smile on their face.
Unknowingly, Narinder smiled slightly. At least his sister looked better in a wedding suit than the lamb.

shamwow ref sheet, finally!!!!! :D
figuring out how to draw them was tough, still ironing out their design a bit, but overall i'm happy with how it looks. :3
you know what time it is-- ramble that no one asked for, aw yeahhh.
firstly, when designing them i for sure knew i wanted their design to be fuzzy & inspired by a tarantula; i know they're supposed to be a jumping spider but.. don't care, fuzzy spider supremacy. also tarantulas have weirdly adorable paws?? i love it.
their eye colour is supposed to be somewhere between red & violet; they look a bit more pink than i intended, so i'll probably adjust that as time goes by.
final thing i wanna add about their design specifically; because they are the eldest sibling, & it's insinuated that they absolutely merced all the other gods, i wanted their design to stand out more & be a little more fancy to show their status. i want to eventually add more details cuz i feel like i could make it look way cooler, but this is good for now. :3
it's made clear in the game that the bishops relied on the crowns to work around their disabilities, so when shamura is indoctrinated into the cult, they struggle a LOT with their head injury. their symptoms including, but not limited to; memory loss, poor facial recognition, visual trouble, brain fog, migraines, loss of fine motor skills, lack of balance & coordination, vertigo, struggles with vocabulary (stutters, can't find words, or sometimes makes up their own words), they often repeat things that don't really have much meaning, hand tremors, hallucinations, etc. they start out really bad, & their injury would be far worse if it weren't for the fact that they're a god & the crown prevented the injury from being as bad as it could have been. their siblings are all very patient with them, & the lamb assigns them a buddy as they begin to recover & are able to move around the cult grounds more. they eventually get to a point where they're able to function, still with moderate memory loss & brain fog, as well as migraines & hand tremors, but it takes them a *long* time to get to that point.
in their free time, they used to enjoy sewing & reading, but due to their injury, they struggle a lot with it which frustrates them to no end. they later get glasses to help with their vision so they can read, & learn how to knit & crochet, as sewing is a bit hard when your hands are constantly shaking & you're holding a tiny needle & thread.
later on in their recovery, they start helping out around the cult, doing a little bit of everything; they help the lamb with everyday duties when they can, usually small errands like delivering & retrieving items (they write them a little note in case they get lost along the way; shamura holds onto many of these notes, & have a basket in their room filled with notes they've collected over time); they help leshy in the farm/garden, heket in the kitchen when she's chefing it up, & kallamar in the healing bay, & occasionally keeps him company while he paints or crafts things. eventually, shamura & narinder are able to repair their relationship-- i haven't figured out what exactly narinder's tasks & hobbies are yet but they would keep him company & help when they can, too.
ok this is getting long so i'm gonna leave it here for now. :3
now i just have to finish the lamb & goat, & then all the rest of the characters & cult members... hoo boy.

gonna elaborate on one of the steps from this post of mine about my ideal narilamb dynamic bcus i want to talk about them jfdklasjkfds so go check that out for context
but the idea (which i'm going to put under a cut bcus i love to Talk)
i'm thinking this is like, partway through their decade-ish phase where they're going from "mutual bitter betrayal" to "on friendly terms again," and the lamb is charged with re-killing and subsequently indoctrinating the bishops. which like... is gonna stir up a Lot of feelings (i also hc, in this case, that the bishop situation doesn't come up for at least a few years after the lamb initially defeats narinder, hence being in the mid phase) bcus the lamb thought they were striking down the bishops responsible for the horrors they've faced the first time, and now some asshole in a cloak is telling them they didn't do it right. plus narinder thought he was free of his siblings and ever having to confront the feelings he has about them but now they're going to be Here and he can't Hide Forever bcus he's far enough into healing that the lamb would be sad if he regressed back into isolation (and also he's been getting more involved with the day-to-day cult stuff and him disappearing would cause Issues)
(also. tbh i think narinder starts falling back in love first, bcus i feel like he spent so long stuffing down his feelings that now that he has a body that can Feel Emotions Physically he has a harder time ignoring them. not that he'd bring that up at this point but like, he's in a weird love/hate/desire for healing cycle with the lamb that they are Vaguely aware of but don't want to push bcus their own feelings on the matter are just as complicated and they Do Not want to address those)
so the lamb gets this mission to kill leshy again and take him in. they kind of talk to narinder about it but don't bring up all the details bcus they're not sure what they're going to do about leshy once he's in the cult, and they don't Necessarily trust narinder's first reaction to seeing his baby brother again, nor do they trust leshy to be around narinder for at Least a week or two, possibly longer. so narinder just knows the basics of the plan, and then the lamb fucking Disappears for a bit to get this done. narinder is stewing in his feelings while he runs the cult with the lamb's other disciples and he's not having a Great time. one may even accurately accuse him of having a Bad time. no one is going to bcus fuck if anyone is going to bring up that he seems to be in a bad mood more often these days.
the lamb comes back with leshy. narinder is Not a fan of this choice but it's not like he had any way of denying it, bcus the lamb Has to do something about the bishops or shit is gonna get bad, and even if he wishes they would just kill him, the lamb isn't exactly known for that (their tendency toward second chances, after all, is the only reason he's going through this). the lamb keeps them apart for a while until leshy settles in and it's clear he's not in any immediate danger of dissenting, at the very least. narinder still kind of avoids him bcus he's pissed off that leshy was involved in imprisoning him and he's afraid that leshy is upset with him about tearing out his eyes (he is, but he's not about to have that argument without back up).
and narinder and the lamb have managed to go a little while without arguing about anything big, bcus they're both trying to work on that (and the arguments are never Actually what they're about so it's not like they were getting anywhere), but narinder is so on edge about leshy that he snaps at the lamb and they snap back bcus they're on edge about heket and this mysterious cloaked figure (which narinder can Kind of see but not yet communicate with, for other reasons i have hcs for about his return to divinity and will maybe one day elaborate on separately). they get into a shouting match about the lamb's choices about what to do about the bishops and how much of those choices are actually in their control and how much each of them is upset about these developments and how much narinder does Not want to see his other three siblings again, and really it's about narinder feeling left out of the thought processes and the lamb feeling like they can't trust him to be involved and therefore having no one to turn to bcus it's not like they can address these issues with their regular ass mortal disciples and also both of them are heavily traumatized by the bishops and don't want to acknowledge said trauma. it's messy and loud and they both walk away pissed
but the important thing is after they walk away from said argument they both feel guilty about it. and they've always felt Bad walking away from shouting matches and they've occasionally felt a Little guilty about big arguments but this is the first time they've both been like "fuck, maybe we could have talked that out instead of yelling" so they regroup and apologize for parts of it and kind of talk about other parts (they're still not Completely there, to be clear, we're still in the "figuring out wtf is happening between us" phase) and the lamb lets narinder in more on their plans for heket and asks for his advice on dealing with her after she's brought into the cult and about how much he wants to be involved. which starts the ball rolling faster on them starting to make up bcus now they're on more equal footing and narinder feels less like he's being blocked from the important parts and the lamb feels less isolated in the process of dealing with the people responsible for so much of the pain in their life
and if like.......... narinder has a few dreams that he dwells on for a while or stares at the lamb too intensely during sermons. well that's his business. the lamb definitely doesn't think about him while they run solo crusades or while they're alone in the evenings, wandering around and helping out the night crew with the occasional tasks, not if you asked them
(there's also a decent amount of timespan involved with this, but that's not as important jfkldsajdf in my head this takes place over the course of about four months, from the mysterious seller appearing to them starting discussions about heket, with bringing in all four bishops taking about a year and a half total, potentially closer to two years depending on narinder's reactions to heket and kallamar and the seasons' effects on the lamb)

Shamura meeting a spider s.o who isn't really apart of the cult and lives the life of a traveler but visits from time to time and members consider her to be a 'big sister' and people love to come to her for advice...
like she'll be pulling pieces of debris, leaves, twigs, pieces of mushroom, etc. from the lambs wool (which she had lectured him about a few minutes prior like "Lamb, you got this in your wool AGAIN?? I will not allow you to continue to talk to people when you basically have a FOREST in your wool, sit down and let me help you.") and Shamura is there and I feel like they have real deep conversations, maybe s.o telling him their story after a while, how they think that they might be from the Silk Cradle but aren't sure because they were taken when they were young and raised in the mountains ... just a little thing i thought abt haha
"I-I can assure you, [y/n]..I don't need-"
"Oh no, you absolutely do need this." You tutted as you made Lamb sit down on a tree stump, picking bits of mushrooms and leaves out of their wool.
They winced as you harshly tugged on a twig that was especially embedded in it, casting it aside once it was plucked free. "I need to do my morning sermon," they grumbled. "Can this wait until-?"
"There's still a few more hours till noon. I will not have you walk up to that podium with your wool being a literal Anurian forest! How do you keep letting it get this bad anyways?"
"I-"
"Actually..don't answer that."
"But...!!! Ugh, fine." With a pout, the Lamb sat with their cheeks puffed out, remembering that they couldn't order you around...as you weren't one of their followers. So you didn't have to abide by any of their rules.
You were a nomadic spider who traveled all across the Old Faith. Your heart desired adventure, but every once in a while it would lead you back to these temple grounds, and you'd witness Lamb's cult growing steadily with each visit.
When they weren't around, their followers would flock to you, having grown accustomed to your frequent appearances. You carried a lot of knowledge during your travels, so you'd share stories of your recent journeys and offer advice to those who asked for it.
Whether it's about something personal or just how to navigate through a domain safely, you had plenty of answers for most of them. Some followers even looked up to you as a sister, which made you happy.
The most important part of your visit, however, was ensuring Lamb looked their best before they went to preach in the temple. You always caught them after they return from crusades, finding them covered in earthly debris without a care in the world.
If this new "god" of the lands wanted to be taken more seriously...they had to look presentable to their followers.
But even so, they were quite the fussy one; stubborn like a child: Bleating constantly, kicking their hooves, and sometimes even demonically hissing if you suggest they removed their crown for a moment.
They only acted that way because Narinder saw you preening their wool once and mocked his former vessel until your glare shooed him away.
Fortunately, Lamb chose not to argue with you any further, making your job easier to finish.
It took a few more minutes, but their wool finally looked a lot better, so you sent them on their way to preach the Red Crown's gospel after bidding them farewell.
Whatever debris you plucked out of them went into a bag of silk you've crafted for yourself. Surely you can do something with the twigs, leaves, mushroom stems, and pumpkin seeds they carried back to the cult grounds--you couldn't let any of that go to waste.
"Greetings, traveler. Back so soon?"
The familiar voice made you perk up, looking to see Shamura standing there with a book in their hands. It seemed to be one from Silk Cradle, detailing trap layouts and designs.
You smiled. "Hello, Lord Shamura. And yes. I like to come and go as I please."
".....forgive me, but your name slips past me.."
"It's [y/n]."
"..ah yes, yes...Sister [Y/n]. Welcome back." They bowed their head politely. "I do have a question, if you have the time."
"Of course." You nodded, before frowning as you noticed the somewhat troubled look on their face. "What ails you?"
"...hm?" They blinked. "Do I look sick?"
"Oh, no. I mean..your expression. I've seen it on other followers, and it's usually because something's weighing heavily on their mind-"
"Why call me "lord" if you have not served under me?" Shamura abruptly interrupted, confused as their gaze went to the open book in their hands. "I have seen many spiders in Silk Cradle...but none quite like yourself. If only I could remember..were you a servant? A warrior? A merchant...?"
The more they struggled to recall, the more ichor began leaking through their bandages. And you could see it was physically paining them, too.
It made you wonder how they ever survived losing the Purple Crown, but then again it probably took a miracle from the Lamb to give them a fighting chance--a second chance.
Even so, you felt bad for Shamura. Their memory gaps kept widening despite their desperation to remember things and continue reading.
"Oh dear..allow me to hold that for you." You gently took the book away from them before the liquid could splatter all over the cover, closing it up. "I didn't grow up in Silk Cradle, but I'm sure I was born there. I only remember being taken up to the mountains..perhaps my family became deserters who disliked the violence."
"Hm...under my ruling, deserters would have been swiftly found and jailed."
"I see-"
"No, no..that's not it...they...would have been swiftly found, tried in my court, and publicly executed." They corrected themselves, huffing. "My apologies."
"...oh. Then I guess I'm glad we weren't ever found out." You awkwardly chuckled, having much preferred what they said before. "It seems your memory has been improving since the last time we met."
"Yes, indeed...indeed it is.." Shamura nodded, before you both heard the tolls of the temple bell, signaling that it was time for the sermon. "The Lamb calls..they are speaking now." They looked to you. "Shall we go together, [y/n]?"
"Sure." With a smile, you linked arms with them. "But as a fair warning, I tend to hang around the back and just listen."
"As do I, my friend...as do I." A tiny smile formed between their fangs. "I hope Lamb's wool isn't covered in earthly vermin anymore."
"It's clean as a whistle." You reassured, smiling back at them, before you two headed towards the temple.
Perhaps you'll stay here in the cult for the rest of the day. Just to spend a little more time with Shamura.
You enjoyed the company of a fellow arachnid.
