Do you care about trans people? The amount of HP stuff you've posted just this year has started to make me think otherwise so I'd like to ask if you're simply unaware or if you don't agree with the many people who want it to fade out of culture
Hmm I wondered if this would come up eventually.
No, I don't endorse or agree with JK Rowling's stance on trans people and I support the LGBTQ+ community. I'm aware of the controversy but I don't keep up with the latest details of it.
My goal with this blog is just to present these graphics like a time capsule of the era in which they were made. Like I said about Pirates of the Caribbean when people were upset about seeing Johnny Depp here last year, it’s hard to grasp how massive and much a part of internet culture Harry Potter was if you weren’t there to see it first-hand when the books and movies were coming out. I can tell you that especially in fandom spaces, there was a hell of a lot more Harry Potter than I ever post.
Lots of these icons include questionable people and media. That’s what the 2000s were like - someone said previously in a comment, it was a lot less sanitized than the aesthetic Invader Zim glitter graphics nostalgic version. That's how any era will look in retrospect. I don't do much censorship of topics here other than things that go against Tumblr rules. If I did, you wouldn't see all the punk pop bands whose members have later been exposed for unsavoury acts here.
As far as Harry Potter goes, I have a LOT of HP icons collected because, as I said, that's how it was and I just save whatever I find or get linked to. My method for running this blog is randomizing the file names of the images in my icons folder as a string of numbers and letters and loading the queue in whatever order they come up, and honestly, I often weed out some of the Harry Potter (and Twilight, and Naruto, and My Chemical Romance, and other super popular topics of the era) themed ones that come up in the folder just because there are so many of them. So believe it or not, I have way more of that theme of icon than I ever post. I do purposely steer clear of ones focusing on JK Rowling alone rather than the franchise (though haven't found too many of those).
I would be curious to hear what others think, though.

I come bearing Team 7 road trip headcanons
(very american road trip because that's what I'm familiar with)
Naruto calls shotgun, but that doesn't even last long enough for them to get on the highway before Kakashi sentences him to the back seat because he put his feet up on the dash and tried to steal the aux cord for his Super Awesome Road Trip Playlist
Sasuke tries to claim shotgun for himself afterwards but Kakashi declares that the front seat is now off limits.  Call it a bonding exercise
Whoever sits next to Naruto is inevitably going to smack him at some point and while Sakura hits harder than Sasuke, she's more patient than him, so she's in the middle with Sasuke behind Kakashi and Naruto behind the passenger seat so that he can kick the back of it without causing an accident or a murder
No one ever actually sees him take it off somehow but every 45 minutes someone has to yell at Naruto to put his seatbelt back on.
Naruto wants to play a road trip game, which Sakura thinks is a novel and fantastic idea.  She makes puppy eyes at Sasuke until he agrees to play.  It actually goes well until Sasuke starts cheating during I Spy by describing billboards that passed them in half a second.  Naruto and Sasuke bicker over whether this is actually cheating or not, and Sakura takes Naruto's side, much to Sasuke's indignation and Naruto's excited woops.  They get so loud that Kakashi threatens to start playing educational podcasts at max volume if they don't shut up
Sasuke puts his headphones in and you'd think he's listening to some punk alt emo rock album but nope he's got on a mixtape playlist Sakura and Naruto made him for his birthday
He leans his head on the window but the road is too bumpy for it to be comfortable.  Naruto notices and offers Sasuke his hoodie to put between his head and the glass, and Sasuke grumbles but ultimately accepts it if only so he can stop having a conversation that involves his friends being kind to him
Sakura tries to read but eventually gets too car sick and falls asleep with her head on Sasuke's shoulder
Naruto pulls out a handheld game and is careful to turn the volume all the way down so he doesn't wake Sakura up
Kakashi puts on a forest ambiance soundtrack instead of music, and Naruto is very confused.  He doesn't know that due to them being in the middle of nowhere, Kakashi can't get any service, leaving him only with the things he has pre-downloaded to his phone.  These are limited to forest ambiance and every Icha Icha novel on audiobook
Sakura does eventually wake up to go into a rest stop with Kakashi while Naruto and Sasuke wait in the car because they didn't feel like putting their shoes back on.  She comes back with each of their favorite snacks
Naruto has to use the bathroom 10 miles after leaving the rest stop
Everyone newly recharged with sugar, they agree on another road trip game where they have to find words starting with each sequential letter of the alphabet (chosen for its collaborative and therefore cheat proof nature)
They absolutely do the COWS thing whenever they pass a field
Sakura finally smacks Naruto upside the head when she catches him without his seatbelt on for the seventh time
Kakashi imposes a tax where he's owed a bit of snack every time someone asks if they're close or how much longer
Naruto and Sakura end up sharing a blanket (Sasuke isn't cold due to his recently acquired hoodie)
Naruto and Sasuke compete to see who can put more stickers on Sakura without her noticing.  When they get caught, Sasuke claims to have no knowledge of the game at all, and sure, Naruto never saw Sasuke put anything on Sakura, but he knows for a fact that not all those stickers were from him
Sai, who has been in the third row of seats the entire time unbeknownst to everyone else in the car, is very pleased with himself for winning

The Teens New Life Of Hope
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
My Danganronpa UDG OC Hikari Naegi -> ( ヒカリ ) ( 苗偽 ) as a teen, she is the younger sister of Makoto Naegi in a different universe.
Along side are the new reformed Warriors of hope. Nagisa Shingetsu, Kotoko Utsugi, Masaru Daimon, And Jataro Kemuri.
Years later after the events of Udg Hikari Naegi the warriors try to start a new life without crime or killing. while also still healing from the horrors of their childhood and the awful acts of murders they cause in Towa city.
Author note- I will also show art posts of what happen before this new era, I know im going out of order here before my fanfic is done but its gone take me a long time to finish it and i just cant hold on to my art and story ideas for too long( also IRL stuff as well).
I will do character bios for them, I just need to write them out when I eventually have the time.
Nagisa / For those who love his cowlicks he will still have them but when he sleeps or goes swimming. in my headcanon he would gel them down to look more serious.Though i am looking a good english voices claim for him as a teen, if anyone has good recommendations possible voice claim(s) that could work i would love to read them in the comments.
Jataro / While he wears his mask at school and in public he doesn't mind taking it off in his room or being alone his friends. Voice claims for him are Armin Arlert from Attack on Titan and Japanese claim is Izuku Midoriya from My Hero Academia.
Masaru / Was aiming for giving him the teen protag Shonenjump look( like naruto or something lol) Though I am looking a good english voices claim for him as a teen, if anyone has good recommendations possible voice claim(s) that could work i would love to read them in the comments.
Kotoko / For her trying go with a mix of girly/punk/lolita Fashion, I think her current voice actress can still be her claim, but if anyone has good recommendations possible voice claim(s) that could work i would love to read them in the comments.

Naruto redesigns be upon ye
The main point of divergence from the canon timeline is Naruto meets Kurama a few years early (and also Zabuza and Haku live bc i love them <33). This happens because he decided to go foraging for more food and ate a poisonous plant (think deadly nightshade), causing his Kurama's chakra to kick in and heal the effects of the poison and send Naruto to the sealscape. Kurama decides to be nice(r) to Naruto because he's not dumb enough to blame a literal child for something that happened to him as an infant, though he's not exactly friendly until Naruto thinks to ask Kurama's name about a year down the line, on Naruto's 10th birthday.
I've been super into my Naruto au recently. The current name for the AU is Punk Tactics because Naruto's (and eventually all of his friends) a full-on punk who actually wants to change things for the better rather than slather the status quo in orange paint.
Because Naruto's got a millenium old genius monster giving him life advice and bullying him into self-sufficiency for a best friend, he's not really the dead last in class, but he's absolutely awful at tests so he still has the worst academic grades.
A lot of Naruto redesigns take away the orange completely for stealth, but I decided to keep it because orange is such an integral part of his character (bright orange is happy, warm, demands attention, and is very distracting, all stuff Naruto needs in his day-to-day life), and also the kid who stole the scroll of seals and almost got away with it doesn't need advice on being stealthy lol. He also wears dark coloured clothing under the highlighter jumpsuits in case he *does* need to be ultra stealthy, as well as for extra protection.
For younger Naruto, I used bright but more pastel-y colours because he's more innocent and hasn't really become Naruto yet, but after meeting Kurama and growing up a bit he's embraced the obnoxious side of himself and has begun wearing it like armour against the world. He's also a thief in this au, and his pranks are both a way to get revenge on the village for mistreating him and taking attention away from the real mischief he get into (this also provides the experience he needs to eventually steal the scroll of seals). As he grows older, he wears both brighter and darker colours to signify embracing himself more as well his growing maturity, while also being an homage to his jinchuriki transformations.
Also, he makes the highlighter jumpsuits directly after the Wave Mission, where his eyes were opened to injustice that didn't affect him personally, and he goes from wanting to be Hokage so people aren't mean to him to wanting to be Hokage to change the world for the better for everyone, so the black also represents how much more seriously he takes things now and the orange represents his bright hopes for the future. The black is also, one some level, a way to mourn his loss of innocence after everything he's gone through and the childhood he never really got to have. (Can you tell I love nuance, layers and symbolism in stories)
For the jinchuriki transformations I went hard into the eldritch cryptid type aesthetic while adding some symbolism. Hinata thinks of Naruto as the sun and herself as a sunflower always facing towards him and trying to emulate him (her name is written in hiragana but kanji readings of Hinata generally translate to something sun related), and Naruto's base appearance while using mass amounts of bijuu chakra looks like various cosmic events related to stars like an eclipse or a black hole. The eyes are inspired directly from Naruto's canon four tails transformation and Alternates from The Mandela Catelogue. It's also kind of representing Naruto's status as the black sheep of Konoha as he's entirely black aside from the eyes, and the oxymoronic nature of his existence - a glowing shadow, a genius village idiot, Konoha's greatest asset and pariah, a little kid with more life experience than most adults. Also it looks cool
The Highlighter Jumpsuits he wears after Wave are handmade and specially designed to take on Kurama's chakra without degrading like normal clothes would - this allows his clothes to become part of the shadowy body when he transforms.
I decided to make Naruto use a bo staff as one of his main weapons for a few reasons: sticks are the easiest weapon to find for a guy who spends most of his time in a forest, the idea of professionally bonking people with a stick is funny, and I love the stick and rope metaphor from Death Stranding. He can also just tie a kunai to it if he needs a spear
As for why Naruto doesnt have a utility belt or any kunai pouches: he adds a bunch of extra pockets and straps to hold things to any clothing he can and uses storage seals to hold everything. Some pockets are just hidden storage seals to hold things that would be awkward to fit into a pocket.

I've read your "the lemonade stand" and i'm really curious how the events that happened in "Hoshigaki" and "Eight" trasfer to it, so if you had perhaps an outline of it and don't mind sharing, please share, i'm wracking my brain for how it could work.
Have a wonderful whatever-time-is-it-where-you-are!
hi!
so the barebones ideas i have for team eight's lore in the lemonade stand goes something like this:
the akatsuki have based themselves in north america, but kisame leaves sakura in tokyo with an old relative on his wife's side and doesn't keep in contact, hoping for the best and living with the guilt the second he drops her off. unbeknownst to him, that relative passes a few weeks later and sakura is promptly shuttled into an orphanage
the years sakura spends there helps her grow into the calm, smart, calculating version we all know and love in the original hoshigaki-verse. naruto is a part of the same orphanage but they don't really interact. she sees him cause trouble, get chastised by the works, watches the cycle spin over and over. but it's none of her business and he's never really talked to her, so she keeps her head down and spends her free time finishing homework that's too easy for her and sticking her nose in library books until curfew hits
she meets kiba sometime in the middle of elementary school and her free time splits to spend some time at the circuit of shelters and veterinary clinics the inuzuka family owns
by junior high, sakura and kiba are thick as thieves. the first day of their first year, they meet shino and immediately get him in trouble with them. they spend that day's detention under kurenai yuuhi, their homeroom teacher. from that day on, shino's sucked into their group and they gain a reputation for themselves by racking up more absences than attendances and most teachers couldn't care less about what they do with their time. they still turn in their assignments, still keep up their grades, and if they keep their 'delinquent tendencies' out of their sight, it's not their problem
kurenai disagrees. they're good kids, she knows it, and she'll try to help steer them on the right path no matter how many detentions she has to host for them. now if only they could take it seriously and stop bringing her cheap snacks to bribe her into letting them leave early
it's also in junior high that naruto starts hanging around sakura and her friends. they both had growing up in the orphanage in common, and both had that troublemaking gene, and it was both of them that went out of the orphanage together to make a deal with a landlord who didn't mind renting out some rooms to a couple punk kids who were tired of the group home. the kids were scrappy and clever and knew their way around the streets so he offered them this: a unit for each of them if they ran odd jobs for him whenever he needed them to. when they made deliveries, they'd never look into a package. when he sent them to check up on people, they wouldn't get caught - if they did, he wasn't doing anything to get them out of it
anything beat going back to the orphanage. so they agreed
back at school the other teachers keep telling kurenai it isn't worth the effort, especially when police officer tenzo keeps hauling them back to the school if he can catch them out during school hours. but what they don't care to notice is how police sergeant tenzo is half trying to keep himself from laughing along with these kids and half trying not to worry himself gray when he find that they've thrown themselves into another fight with another group at another school. it doesn't matter if they keep winning, and it's certainly not funny when kiba's cheek is so swollen that it makes him talk weird for a week
but what tenzo's really worried about isn't the fights or the truancy or how scary smart these kids can really be. it's that because they're scary smart that they'll get in trouble with the worst sort of people one day, and him and kurenai won't be enough to save them
his fears are realized in the kids' second year of junior high when one day, they disappear
kurenai is distraught. her and tenzo are the only ones outside of the inuzuka and aburame families that actually care that the kids are gone, and along with it comes some gutting realizations. her the kids never stirred up any real trouble, per se, but they never made many friends at school or got in any other teacher's good graces or care enough to actually address the reputations they've built up for themselves
for a year and a half, she mourns them. she watches inuzuka tsume demand the police to find her son and why the hell aren't you doing anything he's out there and he's thirteen and if you don't do something he'll be dead. she watches aburame shibi, the quiet and polite managing partner of the renowned Aburame Law Offices, blame his son's friends for turning him into another bad kid when he has such a bright future ahead of him. she watches as tenzo tries his best to keep their case open because he's so sure they're still out there despite it growing cold around the edges; he'll never give up on them, he says, even when everyone up to the superintendent general of the tokyo metropolitan police department - second in rank only to the chief of japan's national police agency - thinks he's chasing shadows. she watches as naruto never loses hope of sakura and kiba and shino coming home and... and that one has a particular sting to it. especially when it's only recently that an explosive altercation between him and his best rival landed naruto a couple month's stay in the hospital and had sasuke whisked off somewhere out of japan without leaving so much as a phone number behind
kurenai never loses hope, and it's that same hope that kills her a little bit every day
everything changes when naruto starts his first year of senior high school. because three kids stroll onto the same school grounds like they hadn't ever gone missing in the first place. sakura, taller and stronger and indifferent and with a shock of pink hair. kiba, louder and angrier and sharper and a hearing aid in one ear. shino, more brazen and colder and more blunt and never taking off the dark sunglasses he's taken to wearing on his face
they're back, and it's like the warmth has found its way back into kurenai's blood
(it's later when the kids and kurenai and tenzo flee to north america for a charge of a murder they didn't commit that the latter two find out what really happened. one day when the kids were skipping school like usual, they see police officers dumping the body of a missing child. back then they hadn't been quick enough or strong enough or wise enough to react accordingly and get sucked into a dark conspiracy that they never wanted to be a part of in the first place. superintendent general shimura danzo is kidnapping kids, he had once sold some of them to disgraced scientist orochimaru to supplement illegal experimentation, and prime minister sarutobi hiruzen was covering it all up.)
((then, superintendent shimura finds out there are witnesses. he figures them out, packs up three teenagers into a shipping crate and loads them up on a ship, and sends them off to their deaths. when their bodies are inevitably found, it won't be hard to spin it: "three juvenile deliquents up to no good. something like this was bound to happen. what a shame, what a tragedy. may their souls end up in a better place than their bodies did."))
the conspiracies end up coming to light by the time the kids are sixteen, exposing a rotten and corrupt system that the new prime minister, senju tsunade, is quickly and aggressively working to root (ha) out. but even as names clear and charges drop and japan is ready to welcome three misjudged teenagers back with open arms, they decide to stay in north america.
kiba's intrigued with the goings-on in technology department at RAIN Securities and would probably go to college for something in the field. he's a whizz with tech anyway, and he knows they're probably going to pay for his degree in exchange for his employment
shino knows he's going to put himself on track for medical school. kiba and sakura are always getting hurt and he wants nothing more than to devote himself to the little family they've made for themselves. keeping them safe and healthy will always be in his top priorities, and he's already had exposure helping the medical team at catatumbo sanctuary in south africa. sure it was all veterinary medicine, but at least he knows he's interested in that sort of science
and sakura, well, isn't sure what to do with herself. she's content with floating through high school and taking general courses in college until she finds something worth doing. maybe she'll find something in physics; the subject makes kiba gag, and that's as good a reason as any to study it
it's not like the north american high schools are much different than the ones in japan when it comes down to what matters, anyway. she doesn't make any other friends in the school, she doesn't endear herself to the staff, she submits her assignments and takes her tests and thinks that they school should be lucky they don't have to deal with her and the boys' truancy habits this time around. the days go by and she spends her time after school in a rotation of places: her dad's gym, konan's company, sasori's tattoo shop, kakuzu's car customs shop. it's more of a variety than japan, but it's still routine. she doesn't expect any change
then one fateful day, she gets a project partner in the form of the the football team's pretty boy. and the timeline of the lemonade stand begins :)
this... really got away from me lmao. the outline turned out to be both way more information than i thought i'd get down and not enough detail to fully explain how the world is molded by the events of the hoshigaki-verse, but i hope it's a good structure to give you some idea of how things went down! i could definitely make a prequel fic to elaborate on the world, but we all know i'm already struggling to update my current fics lmaooooo
but if you have any specific questions, i'd be happy to answer them! thank you for your wonderful ask! <3

Random thoughts #1
I feel like the isekai genre would have a lot more potential if/ be more interesting if they gave the worlds the MC got transported to more unique worlds.
Like the MC gets resurrected as a robot in a cyber or steam punk world
or a Goku or Naruto-esce MC gettes isekaied from there shogun anime world to a looney toons-esce cartoon world were none of there forms or techniques are any use because everything works by cartoon logic and toon force
or you do the classic "get's transported into favorite video game and is overpowered" formula but the MC isn't over powered because they're in-game strong but because they abusee glitches and do things the game wasn't desined designed to handle. clipping though walls, moving in 3D in a 2D game, etc.
or they're transported into an old movie they liked as a kid but after awhile it's starts altering or removing anachronistic elements the MC brought with them and they have to race against the clock to leave before they get erased or fundamentally altered to fit the tone/troupes of the movie/time period it's set/made in
ok that last one was just a disney channel movie plot taken more seriously (I being serious It's called teen beach movie) but this post was basicly just an excuse to post one of the random tangents my brain goes on so meh
feel free to use any of these terable ideas for what ever you like I'll probably never get around to it

I got an idea but i'm gonna make it quick cause currently brewing a potion of Fuck You for me to drink come tomorrow morning to start pushing out new chapter of FUBAR's next arc
Madatobi, slowburn, Modern!AU, Highschool!AU, i'm about to fuck your shit up if you are, were, or becoming an angry teenager
Story is all told in Mada's POV (maybe with little breaks of Tobirama) and he in his family live in the perfect picket fence household and Mada is a straight-A student, over stressed student body president, really gives off the dad-friend vibe cause he's also a nerd but don't think he's weak for thinking that hanging out with the Naruto-weeb kids during lunch is cool cause he's not afraid to throw hands. On the other hand Hashi, his best friend, his captain of the football team and all about school pride and their childhood friendship is a match made in heaven They promised to be each other's best man at the weddings, probably get stuck in the same nursing home together, that type of childhood best friend.
Except Mada knows that Hashi's homelife isn't that good.
He knows nothing explicit cause his friends keeps him fairly distracted and over the years Mada stopped questioning why he's never invited over at the Senju's house and other subtle signs that shit ain't right.
Another thing to ignore is Tobirama.
Hashirama's younger brother by only a year, a junior in highschool to Mada's senior. The pale senju is one of those feral punk teens that have safetypins pierced up and down his ears, EYELINER, blackpainted fingernails and an attitude like a cactus on fire and emitting poisonous fumes. Really caustic personality, gets in trouble ALOT by the school and Hashi has let it slip once or twice that he's not afraid to act mean at home either. Kinda a depressing kid really, like a shadow no one wants to acknowledge.
Until Madara gets into a situation.
idk for what, all i know is that he needs outside 'illegal' help in order to get out and who is the most 'criminal' person within his reach? Tobirama. So he goes to Tobirama asking for help and after hearing the story Tobirama helps.
The thing is though Madara thought the whole interaction was going to be worse than it was...but...it turns out Tobirama is funny? Really dry, sarcastic, morbid humor and it catches Mada completely off guard and turns out afterwards he realizes...he actually kinda enjoyed hanging out with the emo kid.
So let's have an arc of the usual Highschool!AU tropes where the straight-A student is trying to help the emo kid. the usual "I can fix him!" attitude mixed with the "he's not really that bad" and the "I didn't know you were THIS smart."
Except everytime it's brought up Hashi makes a face like he sucked a sour lemon. tries to kindly warn off Mada like his own brother is a ticking time bomb.
Why?
Stop the musical number, change the lighting and filters and let's take a look at the Senju homelife.
Dad's a cop.
A mom ain't afraid to lash out.
Oh, they'd never hurt their kids or each other cause they're a 'perfect' family (despite having their embarressing second son) but that doesn't mean Daddy don't drink till he passes out and screams at Mom about anything and everything. And Mommy is so nice and smiley until she's hurt and then she lashes out with her tongue in anger, fear, and pain before crying her eyes out like she's the victim.
Tobirama. fucking. hates. being at home.
But he's got two little brothers, Kawa and Ita in Middle and Elementary school, that only has him going up to bat when Daddy turns to yell at his kids so Tobirama stands in the line of fire and shouts back. And when Mommy tries to play both the victim and aggressor card Tobirama still stands and doesn't let her focus on his brothers.
In this; Tobirama is turning out just like their dad. And that's why Hashi can't help but fear and resent his younger brother. But at the same time Hashi is just like their mom, willing to smile and gloss over the abuse, lashing out when something doesn't go their way, and playing the victim card to get out of trouble.
And Madara is stepping a little too close to the landmine for comfort.
It's gonna blow up on him.

i have an important question what media like music movies tv shows etc do you think steve robin nd eddie would b obsessed with if they got to be young in current times instead of the 80s. bc like i just Know steve would adore buffy the vampire slayer for example like i cant explain it but i Feel it
HM i think robin would like the same sort of like cool indiegirl movies she already watches like going to every single new a24 movie but they strike me as the types to find something even if it's objectively insane or not their usual kind of thing and become Obsessed with it like they would be such big brother heads to me... and like love island and all that. and survivor. steve would also watch like adam sandler and all adjacent movies he would call him adam like they're on a first name basis. robin can we please watch adam. that so fucking funny to think of god. also i think it's funny when ppl think of eddie as a potential "UGH name every SONG that's not music this is" type when ROBIN would be the most annoying person possibly on earth by virtue of all small town gay people are until she like relaxes (source: me)
i ALSO think if robin and eddie had met in school they would have realised they're both obsessed with the same kind of shitty supernatural teen shows when they were like 14 like the vampire diaries and teen wolf and shit they were 2 ships passing in the night destined to get in trouble for talking in class about why derek would even DO THAT! GOD! and YES steve also likes buffy. robin and steve watch the x files but they both secretly find it scary. robin and eddie were hardcore warrior cats percy jackson kids this one is just so true. and as for MUSIC i literally have a playlist of what steve would listen to if he was our age and it is almost exclusively like brittany spears madonna miley cyrus y2k though i do think unfortch he is the most likely to be a swiftie. robin would find like hyperpop annoying eddie would love it but would hate like 99% of pop punk. oh steve would love the disney channel even as an adult a portion of his paycheck goes to paying for it hes like these kids are just like me :) Hey Jessie :) i can picture him so clearly just laying on his couch watching sonny with a chance after a hard day of being a 20 year old employed boy..
OH i think robin would like a lot of anime and eddie who had 0 access to the internet as a kid thinks all anime is like pokémon and he's seen like 4 episodes of naruto cuz those were what were on tv so he thinks he knows everything that happens and somehow he is always sort of right and they would argue about it for 5 hours. robin would have been a one direction stan and her favourite was niall. they have a pictureboard of which celebrities they think are secretly gay or bisexual and andrew garfield has been on there ever since they watched the social network. eddie would not watch rocky horror TO ME or just bc the word reminds me any horror but he would watch like every ghost hunting show ever like unsolved and ghost files and all that also all those bigfoot alien documentaries (but not like conspiracy theories!!!) and when the upside down stuff happens he's like GOD this is just like what happened to zack. he would like comedy horror but he scared of proper horror ROBIN would watch like blair witch to calm down from a hard day.

Sasuke
Send me a character and I'll tell you:
First impression:
I first met him through a Naruto game on the nintendo DS my friend let me borrow and so my first impression was entirely related to his abilities in the game. Which I thought were pretty lame. It was Naruto Ninja Destiny, I believe. So I wasn't really interested in him at all I just vaguely knew he "turned evil" because I saw him in the Akatsuki cloak and I was like "oh, his evil older brother corrupted him? that sucks"
Impression now:
My baby boy forever. I will see characters come and go and will have many phases but Sasuke will always have a special space in my heart.
Favorite moment:
I think the entire moment where he's speaking to the Hokage he made Orochimaru revive. Not only because it was such a great moment of character growth for him, a decision he made without like 3 awful adults manipulating him into it at once, but because it was honestly kind of funny, too. Imagine going up to the God of all Shinobi and saying "btw, my brother is better than you". Sasuke physically cannot stay three minutes around an adult without disrespecting them.
Idea for a story:
One day I'll write that Team Taka character exploration longfic and then it'll be over for you bitches.
Unpopular opinion:
It's twenty twenty TWO put the anti-Konoha/Sasuke-was-right essays down. We get it. Everyone gets it. Most people agree. I agree. I don't need to see the same 5 posts I've been seeing since I logged onto this website in 2016 anymore, talk about something else oh my GOD.
Same goes for the fucking shipping discourse, everyone stop arguing about sasunarusasusakunaruhina or whatever and join me into SasuGaa and PolyTaka nation
Favorite relationship:
I guess still his relationship with Itachi? I'm soft for their childhood flashbacks but I also like exploring Sasuke's feelings on him after he learns the truth about him + after their final moments together. Meaning it depresses me to think about it and apparently I can't get enough of Sasuke angst. It's just a really fucked up sort of attachment and I'd like to imagine how he ends up dealing with it and growing out of it so it doesn't hurt him anymore :(
Favorite headcanon:
I have two faves:
1- Sasuke used his sharingan to study theory while under Orochimaru in order to memorize things more quickly + to train himself to get used to using his sharingan at the same time. So now he knows a lot of random trivia that is basically useless to him by heart. It only serves him when once in a blue moon he hears someone say a fact about one of the very specific topics he knows about and he's able to tell them that they're wrong.
2- Sasuke does not listen to rock/punk/metal or any of the genres people say he does because of the emo stereotype. Everyone else on Team 7, however, does.

Laying in bed thinking up a Naruto modern day au like...
Ok so Sakura's a med school student and Naruto and Sasuke are her childhood friends who didn't have a plan for after HS other than "keep hanging out with Sakura." thankfully they grew up close to a good school so so she didn't even have to move away for college. Naruto and Sasuke just get some boring starter jobs and wing it.
The trio is always taking selfies and sending them to "dad" aka Kakashi, their old martial arts instructor from middle school. He hates the nickname but has long since resigned himself to it. It started when Sasuke accidentally called him "dad" once but it was after his own family died so to save him from being sad/embarrassed about it Sakura and Naruto both started calling Kakashi "dad" too, and then after a few weeks of it Sasuke started thinking it was funny how much it annoyed Kakashi so he starts doing it on purpose to be a little shit.
Of course Kakashi goes crying to his bf and fellow martial arts instructor Gai about how the nickname's officially never going away now that Sasuke thinks it's funny and Gai's just like "man i wish my students (Neji, Lee, & Tenten) would call me dad they must really like you" and Kakashi responds "TAKE THIS CURSE FROM ME I'M BEGGING YOU!!!!"
Neji actually comes from a long line of martial artists and grew up training with family till his dad died protecting his twin brother (Hina's dad) in an accident, then Neji started resenting his uncle and Hinata and joined Gai's team instead of continuing to practice at home. Eventually Neji grows out of hating his uncle and cousin during high school, after having a kind of epiphany about why his dad risked his own life to save his brother when Neji himself jumps between Tenten and an incoming car after she accidentally tripped off a curb trying to back up from some bullies from school. He's hurt bad but she only ends up with scrapes and bruises, so when he wakes up in the hospital he's just relieved that she's okay and that's when he suddenly gets it. After that he starts trying to be nicer to Hinata and they get close.
Hina grows up chilling with the "weird kids" at school cause she's shy and that gets her bullied sometimes, but Kiba (the furry/scene kid in middle school to grunge punk in high school) and Shino (ND kid who is wayyyy too obsessed with bugs) both instantly take a liking to her cause shes genuinely kind to them and interested when they're enthusiastic about stuff so they'll go to bat for her anytime (which lands them in the principal's office more than once)
Okay this is all i have rn but i woll return to add more to this lol uhhhh hmu if u wanna talk about it i guess lol im always down for more Naruto fandom friends

Hinata haters/Tsunade stans: HINATA GOT ONE PANELED! TSUNADE IS A #GIRLBOSS!! Tsunade: *goes out like a punk against Kabuto*
I don't think Tsunade struggling with Kabuto is somthing you can complain about after all he took advantage of her fear of blood to win. Also Kabuto has been stated to be equal to Kakashi which easily puts him just below the Sannin strength wise.
You are right they have no reason to complain about Hinata though in the manga she actually lands several hits on Pain and pushes him back before she gets taken out. Now keep in mind this is the same opponent that no other character has been able to land a hit on cause of his Shinra Tensei yet Hinata managed several and to push him back that alone even though she lost says a lot. More so when even Naruto was only able to land a hit on Pain by taking advantage of the cool down of the jutsu.

Haikyuu Chapter 4: The Strongest Ally
REFLECTION:
It's training time! And Hinata is eating shit! Kageyama keeps trying to activate Hinata's superhuman reflexes through passing but Hinata wants to practice jumps and spikes. Tanaka reminds them and the audience that while Daddy Sawamura is a nice guy, he's very scary when he gets mad. Luckily, this tense moment is broken by the arrival of Sugawara, who comes in to help and, most importantly, not snitch. Eventually, Kageyama straight up tells Hinata that he will not serve to them during the game because he sucks at receiving (no comment). Hinata takes his very insulting put-downs in a surprisingly mature way, simply asking if he learns to receive the ball in a way that he's satisfied with, will he toss to him? Kageyama brushes him off but Hinata doesn't give up! He practices with Sugawara while going into detail about how he appreciates his friends for helping him practice, he could never see them as real "teammates". That's when Sugawara offers to moot the whole point to him himself. However, Hinata knows in his little yaoi heart that he will never be satisfied with Sugawara tossing to him even if Sugawara is objectively prettier than Kageyama on his best day.
Hinata goes into detail about why he needs Kageyama to toss to him. You see, Hinata doesn't just need to beat Kageyama. He has to be as good as Kageyama if he want to beat opponents as strong as him or stronger than him. In a way, Kageyama is a goal (The Lord Is My Shepard...) and Hinata needs him to keep from losing any more. This is a perfect rival dynamic. For you see, the true rivalies of Shonen (Yusuke and Kuwabara, Naruto and Sasuke, MJF and CM Punk) had one thing in common: it's not just about beating your rival, it's about getting them to acknowledge and validate you. And Hinata can't go forward unless the best volleyball player he's ever seen says that he's good enough. In a way, Kageyama is Hinata's Daddy figure (I FUCKING TRIED, ALRIGHT?!).
So they practice for the rest of the week until Kageyama (who was eavesdropping on the earlier conversation) is finally able to get the receive he wants from Hinata...after putting the poor munchkin through the fucking gauntlet. The two finally recognize each other as allies, Kageyama has a tsundere moment, Hinata pukes, roll credits.
Great chapter and I love how it implies that Kageyama is capable of the one human quality that seems to escape me and most of the people on this site: empathy.
Chapter Rating: 9/10

🔥 what is your opinion of ichigo as the main protagonist of bleach? as the force that was needed to stop aizen , and then save the three worlds from ywach? does he live up well as a protagonist against his villains?
Send me a “ 🔥 “ for an unpopular opinion.
okay, so -- i'll be the first person to say that kubo isn't a great writer. but - that's only sometimes. his earlier writing in the series, running from chapter one to the end of the invasion of soul society arc is actually pretty fucking good. and there's some other really good writing from him later in the series too! but sometimes his writing is just not that good and that's okay. i saw someone describe kubo once as someone who is a shallow but static writer. he gives some juicy implications of world building but he doesn't go that deep into things. which -- okay. i'm okay with that. i honestly think that kubo's writing can go through highs and lows and i do pick on his writing because it's fun but he has given us some very dynamic characters! and i love it. now, as for ichigo? i mean ... he's a shonen protagonist. i'm not an OP fan; i've tried to read it, repeatedly, and i cannot get over the art style. but i hear great things about it so like i've heard that the writing in it is really solid. but i read naruto and i'm a big fan of MHA and i mean, the thing is is that many shonen protagonists are very similar. ichigo is ... a little unique. he's a protagonist who, at first, doesn't care about protecting people which i think is hilarious. like, naruto and deku and goku come with a lot of need to protect people or to improve themselves and ichigo had none of that. he's a punk and i love him for it. but i also genuinely love seeing him going from "i don't care" to "i want to protect a whole mountainload of people" and his character growth is one of the loveliest things about the series. he never quite loses being a punk ( as we see with the time skip between the end of Deicide and the Lost Agent arc ) and, truthfully, i think that the Lost Agent arc is one of the best moments of showing just how far ichigo has come in his character growth. because, may i remind people, he was ready to kill tsukishima for what he had done to ichigo's friends and family. ichigo didn't kill aizen, he didn't kill grimmjow, ulquiorra died because of the damage he took from ichigo when our strawberry boy went all vasto lorde. but the difference between those fights and how ready ichigo was to take down both tsukishima and ginjo is honestly a little hair-raising for me. i think he's honestly a very human protagonist; he's not perfect. ichigo fucks up. he makes mistakes. he struggles with things and he's stubborn and reads as a teenager. i think that's what makes him stand out a lot to me over a lot of other shonen protagonists. ichigo's a jerk and a punk but he also does care about people. but he's not the kind of person you'd peg as a hero immediately because of his attitude. and i think he absolutely does live up to facing off against aizen and yhwach. ichigo goes from starting the series off from not caring a lot about helping people out, which rukia calls him out on with how he can't pick and choose who to help, but ichigo's response is just that he doesn't want to say he doesn't want to protect everyone. he just wants to protect everyone that he can with his two hands. ichigo is aware he can't save everyone and that's brilliant. and i really love it for him. yhwach and aizen aren't exactly comparable villains in my opinion; of course, my bias is that i adore how my friend eli ( @yhwch ) writes the mustachioed bastard and they make him so engaging and interesting with their own unique spin on him and aizen's motives are definitely complicated and a lot less nihilistic than yhwach's are. but i absolutely think that when it comes down to it? yeah, ichigo does great at being a protagonist. he's very begrudging about the fact that he's been stuck becoming a shinigami daiko ( albeit aizen manipulated ichigo and rukia to meet; matchmaking??? ) but he does come to accept it eventually. ichigo's name can be read as strawberry -- but it can also be read as 'protector' and i just find the fact that ichigo's own traumas in regards to not saving his mother and needing to protect his sisters have shaped him.
in many ways, kubo's made repeated allusions to that and it's well done in my opinion. like -- yes. kubo's not the greatest of writers and his writing suffered a lot in the blood war arc because he was being pushed to get it done thanks to SJ executives. but i think that he wrote ichigo really well and i think that ichigo did well in standing up against aizen and yhwach. we see ichigo have these moments of doubt. we see him questioning himself and his own skills and abilities. it makes ichigo very human to me and while i will always say that kubo's writing could be better? i am ecstatic that he's being given the chance to expand on several things in the blood war that he probably rushed or glossed over. i think that ichigo's just really great tbh. he's a good kid, even if he can be a punk at times!

Poketeam Tag
The ever-delightful @owlsandwich tagged me in this nerdy exercise, and since I've got Thereafter on my mind lately (subscription link goes up on Saturday 27.04) I figured hell, why not do the entire gang. For my end of tagging duty, I tag in @tryingtowritestuff24 @jeahreading and @sparrow-orion-writes.
Rules: Build a Pokemon team for each of your OCs. Find the team-builder here
Teams and explanations below:
Michael
Tumblr media
The main challenge with assembling Michael's time was to convey his powers of sneaking and affinity for darkness while also not making him too edgy, as he is a teddy bear of a man when all is said and done. Excadrill was a no-brainer on account of his experiences with the molefolk, and following on that subterranean theme, Sableye also seemed to make sense. Sneasler's always given me cat burglar vibes, and hisuian Zoroark's ability to deceive did feel sufficiently stealth-adjacent to fit the bill. Greninja seems to be a bit more of the Naruto-style ninja than the sneaky guerilla fighter sort, but it's close enough, and since I already had decided that the stealth bomber-themed Dragapult was a-ok, then why not, right?
Alicia
Tumblr media
Alicia's team was initially very fighting themed, on account of her deal being physical exercise and some anger issues. I did however feel this was a relatively shallow interpretation of the character. Instead I went with fighting type as a baseline, with "capable of shocking levels of violence" as a subtype, thus Tinkaton and Morpeko. Lucario seemed like a natural fit for the focus and mastery Alicia has developed over her body and mind. As for the rest, they're mostly aspirational, big ol' bruisers that look like they can fight good, and can, in fact, fight good.
Lex
Tumblr media
Lex' was probably one of the easiest teams to assemble, as their love of science, experience with magic, and proclivity towards edgyness made for several fun picks. Mismagius was a simple first pick to reflect Lex' time at the Magnus College. Drifblim is a somewhat weaker match, but I feel it appeals to Lex' fondness for the odd and unusual. Amped form Toxtricity, Grimsnarl and Obstagoon point to Lex' punk aesthetics and proclivity towards the edgy. While Lex loves science, I think they'd also find Magnezone's "science can't understand this pokemon" vibe to be a delightful challenge.
Felipe
Tumblr media
Felipe was another challenge in terms of teambuilding. The man clearly needs a few birds on his team, but going monotype on Flying felt like it failed to capture other parts of his personality, such as his cocky self-assured nature and occasionally abrasive approach to interpersonal relationships. I also figured that having some type diversity would appeal to Felipe's tryhard nature, the man does not like losing. In general, I was looking for bird-themed mons, such as Braviary and Blaziken, filling out more type variety with quick and/or agile mons like Schyther, Emolga and Garchomp, with Weavile mostly here to match Felipe's general vibe.
