I ever tell you guys I used to live directly downhill from a haunted prison that Buzzfeed Unsolved did an episode on?
And that I also lived across a small parking lot from a haunted restaurant that was on an episode of Ghost Adventures?
And it was the same house in both cases.

sonic being given a picture frame and immediately having the perfect picture to put in it implies that he had pictures on hand . does he just carry pictures of his friends around or something . actually that would be a cute explanation for why amy thought that would be a good gift for him

-- Poorly Constructed Enchanted Tool --
A small tool carved from a fruit tree seed. Energy to power the enchantment has seemingly run-out long ago, and the method of recharging is unknown - but, based on the appearance, it's very likely that this was once used for detecting magic. Usually, looking through the glass center would highlight areas of higher magical energy concentration present in the viewer's environment, even if they were otherwise obscured to the naked eye. While this form of enchantment itself is highly advanced, the craftsmanship of the item is far less neat or complex than what might be typically seen in similar devices. It may have been made as part of training/practice, or as a hasty replacement for a previous tool that had broken.
#written from the perspective of some fantasy traveler who checks all of the local thrift-stores and lost & found places for every#town they visit - looking for interesting items and documenting them or something#In reality - just another one of my goofy little avocado pit carvings lol. Still working on inlaying little stones in them and stuff#I don't really have the tools to make super intricate stuff but doing little plain swirly patterns is still fine enough lol.#WORKING ON NEW POLL ADVENTURE also I know I know it's been months.. I have been Busy and struck by the evils of summer#But like I mentioned in the previous one I do want to at LEAST finish the quest with the egg lol#ANYWAY.#Things like this would plausibly exist in Nanyevimi (my fantasy world) but wouldn't be very common as - like mentioned- this would be an#extremely advanced enchantment. REALLY advanced mages could sense magic around them (to varying degrees of pinpoint accuracy of location#) without even having to use any external device. But for a majority of people there's really no way to know someone is using magic near#you unless you either see visual proof or if it's strong enough to feel effects from it (since magic is kind of like radiation in that the#higher energy/more of it youre exposed to the more it damages you/can make you sick/etc.) and even then most people would just be like#'hmm why do I feel so nauseous and bad out of nowhere?' likely wouldn't directly think to link it to magic. Thus the only really reliable w#way isto just hone your senses over like 500 years as you become an expert mage - OR use enchantments like these. But a 'sense magic' encha#ntment is not as common as a just 'magic is not allowed here' enchantment. If you wanted to prevent magic from being usedin a space#it's easier to just put up a broad barrier enchantment around that space than to have some sort of Magic Sensor to pick out if it's being#done and then handle each individual case of it . etc. etc. These sort of things can have their uses (especially for people investigating#things or trying to be secretive about detecting something etc.) but are less common - especially in this form (where visuals are used. itd#be more likely to jsut have like 'piece of metal that gets warm or cool depending on magic nearby'.) ANWAY so this is why it's a notable#object. Though a majority of the realm is not very magic literate - if you were a researcher or a mage and found this at a pawn shop you'd#definitely be like 'oohhh!! :0 inch resting... ' if not you might just be like 'oh cool necklace!' lol#also love the quick 2min ''costume'' for the image of it being used. literally just 'wrap yourself in scarves from the waist up' and slap o#a wig and ears lol#on this blog I guess since it's worldbuilding related and technically art.. maybe more like crafting? I should have a crafts tag lol.. hmm

Part 10 of my poll adventure fic. Links: the beginning, part 2, part 3, part 4, part 5, part 6, part 7, part 8, part 9.
---
Danny walked with Sam and Tucker toward his first class.
Just as he started to step through the doorway, Sam touched his arm.
"Wait, Danny, I should warn you..." she said, and searched Danny's face as though she was about to tell him bad news. "A new transfer student was introduced yesterday while you were gone."
His ghost sense had gone off partway through class yesterday and he'd spent a long time searching for the ghost before finally giving up, missing the last few hours of school.
Danny tilted his head to the side in confusion. "Okay? And... there's more to this, isn't there?"
Sam and Tucker looked at each other for a moment, Sam giving Tucker a pleading look, before they both turned back to Danny.
Tucker said, "You remember Gregor?"
Danny frowned. "He's back?"
"Well, noooo..."
"But he does kinda resemble him."
"Okay, whatever. One more thing to think about," Danny said with a tired sigh, and then walked into the classroom.
With a quick glance around, he saw a head of white—or maybe platinum blond?—hair. The boy had his head down, writing something in a notebook.
So that's the kid Sam and Tucker were worried about.
He wasn't sure what his friends thought about him—whether they thought he could be a GIW operative, or some other kind of spy, or maybe even a ghost in disguise... or if they'd just wanted to remind Danny that Gregor hadn't been any of the above. But he would be prepared, whatever the case was.
Danny sat in his own seat, and pushed the transfer student to the back of his mind for now.
He talked with Sam and Tucker for a few seconds. Then Valerie came into the room, looking tired.
Just after she sat down, Danny heard something buzz. She tensed and glanced toward the door with a frown, leaning forward slightly, as though preparing to leap from her seat.
"Good morning, class!"
Danny turned to see Lancer walk through the door. Lancer sat down and sorted a few stacks of papers on the desk, before looking up and beginning to call roll.
Danny started paying attention as Lancer neared his name.
"Dan Phantom?"
Danny startled, his desk rising an inch and slamming back to the floor.
He opened his mouth, but before he could say, "I'm not Phantom!" a voice behind him said, "Here."
Danny snapped his head around.
Green eyes lazily met his.
Danny stared, mouth still hanging open. It was like looking in a mirror.
"Danny Fenton?"
One eyebrow, above the green eyes, rose in question.
Danny's shin was kicked and he turned back around.
"Danny Fenton."
"Oh! I'm here!"
"Tucker Foley?"
"Here."
"Valerie Gray?"
"Present—can I use the bathroom?!"
Lancer pinched his nose and sighed. "Fine, but"—Valerie ran toward the door—"be back in fifteen minutes this time!"
Danny wondered where Valerie was going. His ghost sense hadn't gone off earlier.
But his thoughts turned back to the 'transfer student'.
He didn't know what was going on. Danny's eyes kept nervously glancing the kid's way, though he didn't seem to notice. Why did he look just like him?! Why was he here?! Was he him somehow?! What was happening?!
Lancer finished taking attendance and said, "Now, today we'll be reading pages—"
A ghost flew by the windows. And Danny's ghost sense activated.
He raised his hand. "Uh, Mr. Lancer, I also need to use the bathroom." His voice was higher than usual, still freaking out about the white-haired green-eyed kid that looked and sounded exactly like his ghost half.
Lancer looked skyward. "Fifteen minutes, Mr. Fenton. Fifteen."
He let out a sigh of relief as he ran from the room.

None of y’all better be able to understand the horror of waking up to zero power in the heat when you can’t pay like I just did, do not want anyone else experiencing that. 😭
BUT IT’S… THE WHOLE SURROUNDING AREA…
So now we pray it comes back ☠️☠️ but at least it’s only gonna be 100 today…
We have a GFM about that and hopefully I can update it later…

Adventure Poll!
Previous Poll
It doesn't surprise you that magic-item-connoisseur Coooper can ward her house against intruders. But it is a little unsettling to see her--towering, wild, intimidating, clawed, fanged, muscled--worrying over potential intruders. She must've left the Far Weald for good reason. Reasons that couldn't be solved with tooth and claw. She probably knew about the Wild Riders or Blood Whatever Hunters or other dangers there. Cooper was dangerous, but a big wolf woman couldn't take on an army.
With that in mind, you decide brute strength isn't going to be your ally here.
"Leave the wards down," you say with confidence that surprises even you. A flash of lightning and punch of thunder punctuate your decision. Cooper nods her head at you.
"Always good to have some brains to temper the brawn," she says with a grin. "You should go get some rest while you can. Guest room is a little dusty, but you can make yourself at home."
You nod and stand to gather your cloak and pack. The living mantle seems to reach for you as much as you reach for it, and it folds over your arm like a cat nuzzling against your hand.
"Before you bed down--" Cooper says, clearing her throat a little awkwardly. She gestures at the cloak, "do you mind... would you give me permission to inspect the Warden's Mantle? I would be very cautious and respectful." She speaks with emphasis, and seems to be talking as much to the cloak as she is to you. She's pulled a pair of comically small and delicate spectacles from her pocket, and is holding them nervously in both hands "I might be able to help you unlock some of its secrets."
You look down at the cloak draped over your arm. It's returned to a verdant shade of green, but you can feel a reluctance shuffling through its leaves.

The one-hundred and eighth free, unedited chapter of my upcoming book, “The Heist at Cordia Aquarium” is now available on its website (or click https://www.kitfisto.gay/chapters/thea to read from the beginning, though it's a lot rougher than the recent stuff -- thankfully, the second draft is well under way).
Within minutes, the aid leads Waylon to a solid wood door. Walnut or oak or something — he doesn't know the difference. Brass fixings adorn its grainy surface, each reflecting a warped version of their surroundings. Knocking first, she inches the door open and peaks her head inside. Heartbeats slow; seconds pass like minutes. Waylon hovers behind her and tries to listen. Some words exchange, but dulled by the wooden slab between him and her and whoever is inside. Albert, most definitely. The thought of them flushes Waylon's face. He reaches forward, set to rip the aid aside, barge past, and— She slips her head out and eases the door shut. He recoils, letting his hand fall limp to his side. No. She doesn't deserve that. [...]
Unrelated image this week, but a hint that this kitty has so much more planned in the second draft. Plus she's just cute. Art courtesy of @binturong-draws

Jolyne told him of a new friend she had made recently. "He lives with us!" she had told him, despite no one else living in the house but them. So it was an imaginary friend, then.
A few days later, she mentioned "He told me stories of Egypt. It sounded so cool! Here, I even drew him!" And she gave him a drawing, proud of herself - Jolyne was only 5, so it was a simple one made with colorful crayons.
He analyzed it, and recalling the moment, closed his eyes. All the details the drawing lacked, his brain filled for him - the desert wind, the sunset in the background, Kakyoin's half closed eyes and how pretty they looked, so full of life. His smile, his messy red hair due to the wind blowing past them at the time, a white scarf around his head. He tells her, with a shaky voice "It looks amazing, sweetie." and then hugs her.
She doesn't understand why daddy starts crying, but hugs him back. "Daddy, why are you crying? Mr. Ka is nearby, he's worried about you.. He says he's sorry for going so early but is happy to see you again."

Brook is a spores druid and in the underdark it's perfect for him, the tower is great because it's damp as well. He's got living home security in the form of fungus everywhere. He probably cultivates and sells mushrooms as a hobby and good reason to get out of the house (bc he normally would just. not.) too
This mean Kruessakt also watches him argue with mushrooms because they're annoyed that he usually feeds them bodies sans brains and want something else like "yeah that's a thing. I guess"
