Inspired from the TDC limited edition hot sauces

In the Natives AU, a traditional Skeksis dish is called "Gelfling essence". It is a sweet albeit quite spicy milk, hot peppers and cherry (or Thra's esquivalent of those) soup that glows thanks to the milked nebries being fed glowing moss from the Caves of Grot, hence the "Gelfling" in the name since its main ingredient comes from a Gelfling place and is aivailable thanks to trading. It is not very easy to have it especially after the war so its price varies from midly expensive to unaffordable depending of periods, one thing is sure it is a delicacy nobles have and its ambiguous taste allows it to be drunk either as an entrée, a main course, a dessert or just as a drink, sometimes even as a sauce. It is loved not just for its taste and luxury but also it virtues : it is healthy due to being spicy so a natural desinfectant, full of vitamins acting like caffeine on the body (to the point too much can cause to act high and violent, hence why it is forbidden in competitions and not recommended when pregnant or for children) and can be even used as aphrodisiacs during mating seasons depending of the Skeksis. There is also a simpler version called "Podling essence", Podling used in the name since Skeksis, who already see Gelfling as inferior, see Podling as even more. Same ingredients and looks minus the glowing, for no glowing moss-fed Nebries, so much less expensive and able to be enjoyed by many more. But in order to balance out and have the milk taste like glowing moss milk, the makers cheat by using more herbs and extracts making it just as vitam-filled but in other ways, not as efficiently and not as long, but it is still very healthy and without the "high" effects of the real one it is safer to drink for everyone

Usually when a bold high ranked Skeksis has a Gelfling over for diplomatic reasons, they will often serve Gelfling essence to allude passive aggressively they are more numerous, more technologically advanced and "the real children of Thra" and so can "drain" them anytime like mere Nebries if they can one day. The message is often clear, and up to the Gelfling to choose how to respond withour risking a conflict

It is Emperor's SkekSo's absolute favorite he wants it at every meal, in fact he even considered having glowing moss grow in the Skeksis empire not to rely on Gelfling but unfortunately it never tastes the same as from the Caves of Grot, making him wonder what is so special in these caves making the plant unique there. SkekTek's tests are not concluant and so far neither he or Skekna or SkekAyuk managed to find why or balance out correctly, to SkekSo's frustration (SkekTek pays the most from it of course)

king of the ladder is one of the best, although you might want to watch the sky shrooms prank episodes leading up to it too. best hour you'll ever spend watching people climb a ladder over and over. sick aerial maneuvers.

boat prank with doc - boat boy! boat boys.

team canada - the first big prank on zisteau, and the painting one - payback will be a bitch. also, ???.

obsidian coffin prank - bdubs falsely claims etho pranked him, so etho builds bdubs a numbers puzzle. of death.

onion pranked - team boobee gifts etho one of his favorite foods.

fun house prank and von sway - a new architectural design style is born.

death games - in order to avenge pause, etho hunts his friends for sport but says if they kill each other, they can increase the amount of times etho will kill the other person. sometimes fails, but also this absolutely spectacular kill on nebris using respawn mechanics to surprise is so good. see also hostility rises.

death games 2.0 - now server-wide opt-in event in the following season. bdubs (and guude) try to kill etho. civil war and an arkas kill.

mass pvp - arena fight night, LENS BATTLE. spawn UHCs, arkasdam pvp,

horsegirl activities - the horse drive-thru, beyonc? and taylor swift, a horse timer, doing wheelies,

season 1

nether project - taking one for the team, etho begins his first nether hub construction in classic nether brick and sandstone. later expanded with help from the b-team.

nice prank - please enjoy this kevin mcleod speed cleaning montage. if you can.

bdoubleo - just before the trial, etho and bdubs discuss their upcoming court case while making trees, 3D cubes, and a big hole at spawn. tune in next to the etho vs the b-team trial to find out why he's got chocolate on his knees.

the underside - etho finds out he's got a roommate and continues his quest for an anvil kill.

the pet shop - etho prepares to open his extremely legitimate, fully-licensed, no illegal activity pet shop and feels just so bad for the poor b-team. also, this is the first episode hoppers existed, which has nothing to do with his new quartz generator.

king of the boat - a bunch of people come together to fix bdubs' flammable arena. shenanigans ensue.

seinfeld fans - etho shows beef his new trivia game.

pvp lesson with generikb - etho teaches pvp skills and learns a new word.

nether hub again - the nether hub falls on etho again but bdubs pitches in this time. ghost zombies, quartz tragedies, etho's little buddy (betrayal)

i feel fine - etho is NOT sick, tells firework stories while helping with doc's perimeter and helps bdubs fishing rod kill a piglin.

alright. alright its time, ive put together enough for this-- this is more so a means to expose/explain to new fans an old era of mcyt thats is kinda hard to access. admittedly i only kept this to nebris/etho because itd just be too hard to piece all missing bits of Death Games together.... its not nearly as wild or in depth as present day things but its dear to me.... old fan art/fic is what got me obsessed w these two back in the day and their dynamic is fun!! and i think its worth exposing ppl to some of this old etho lore :)

nebris+ethoslab was a popular pair back in 2012-2014 era Mindcrack fandom. i assume most of yall know who etho is but nebris was also a member of the server. He was often regarded as cunning and sly, and referred to as "cheaty nebris" for various reasons (whether it was the insane amount of obsidian he managed to acquire for his base, or how he miraculously survived a fight in UHC while barely losing a heart). now why did they become a popular pair?? well.

Death games-- Etho's "game" he came up with in mindcrack s3, is mostly where it took off. They had many interactions in the forms of pranks and whatnot prior (nebris with 'team america', pranking team canada), but this is kinda where a dynamic formed-- Etho's pov starts with him getting back at mcgamer and nebris for killing pause multiple times (streamed here). The game's rules are that etho kills them a total of four times, or they can kill each other to reduce the kill count on their heads. This is definitely where etho gained his reputation of being scary back then lol. Nebris' first perspective on the matter is here.

in both of those first videos, Etho's ganged up on them in a livestream with nebris, mc, and millbee when they went to his base... in which he quickly kills them off with ease. From there is escalates!

theres undoubtedly potentially more bits of interactions out there and that is one of the problems of these old videos... theres lots of them, theyre long, and not all the titles give away if its related. Eventually i will build a more solid playlist but this is just death games!

there is a good backlog of fanfiction out there, i can tell you that. dig into the depths of dreamwidth, even. im sure theres quite a lot of fan art strewn across tumblr entirely untagged. regardless, its was surely one the first popular ships that characterized etho in his exaggerated mysterious self that people do with him today.

Tinreas parents as terrible as always. Forced their daughter to have offspring with her moirail. That's its own hell for him as he's gay, rest in pieces Yovska.

Tinrea had a very difficult pregnancy while Yovska went off to find a job to support her, properly getting into drag. He met Zardor and those two silly gays fell in love~

Troval was a shit ton of help as she kept an eye on Tinrea the whole time, in a way Tinrea started treating that old bronze like a mother.

After the kids were born Tinrea suffered MAJOR post partum depression and ptsd which essentially caused her to abandon her kids and moirail as she disappeared nowhere to be found.

Xelena was raised by Yovska as he took care of his career, so she's caught up on current events and grew up decently normal.

Sal'kar grew up with Jamari, as he saw potential in the lil guy. He went around all the islands, learning from their warriors, scolars and medics. Going through all their trials he is considered a proper warrior by all. That also made him a bit less capable of interacting with your typical trolls, but he's trying his best.

Either way a while passed in universe since then, so the kids now look like this

Tinrea didn't return to them properly, only showing up for a few minutes before leaving due to bad memories coming back. She needed reassurance, but felt like she'd be a bother to Troval, Yovska or even Chimor, so she went to try to see her parents. Her parents attacked her, she barely escaped, heavily wounded she gathered up the courage to ask for help.

Yovska and Sal'kar upon finding out what happened to Tinrea went out into the deep seas to face her parents.

In the meantime after talking to Scrios about what her moirail and son are about to do she got taken in by Chimor. Him and the twins took care of her injuries and let her rest up at their hive.

And what's happening currently is Tinreas parents versus Yovska, Sal'kar and Scrios. Yovska will get beaten up while protecting Sal'kar, but in the end with Scrios they're going to take the other two leviathans down. We'll see what happens after that~
