Woo-Cleansing Solutions
Disclaimer- I promise nothing. Be sensible about your own allergies. And when in doubt, don’t drink it. Matter of fact nothing in this post is food safe once mixed, so drink none of it.
So you have a person in need of cleansing, whether to break up gunk or keep them soft and squishy. And you have the ability/desire to use a bath-type thing to do so. But then....you kinda stutter to a screeching halt. What do? What can you add to your baths (or headwashes/handwashes, we’ll get to that bit) to promote the vibe you want?
For one, watch this video. I am fond of his channel, and that’s a good place to start. And it does work outside of the Espiritismo tradition as a gunk-buster and energetically cooling mix. For those of us outside said tradition, who may not be able to find the ingredients, alternatives will be listed.
But first, the big question- Can you allow this mix to dry on you, or do you have to rinse? Mixes with whole herbs or ones heavy on honey or sugars may be best soaked in in the bath, then gently rinsed off. In general it’s best to let it dry on you, but an alternative is to rinse, pat dry, then smear a little bit on the back of the neck, the inner wrist, or anywhere else energetically important to you, and let that air dry. Life intervenes in all things, even woo. It is important, though, to be physically clean before using these. So do a scrub, wash your hair, then worry about woo-cleansing.
Bath Time- Our first run through assumes optimal conditions- a bath tub to soak in, time to drip-dry after, and time to soak in said tub. Before you go in for the pre-game scrubdown (or as early as the night before), get some rolled oats and fill a jar or glass a quarter full of oats, then fill the rest with water. Mix well and set in the fridge. You want the oat water- as anyone who remembers childhood chickenpox, oatmeal soothes. Its also an important food-grain and makes a decent poultice to pull poison, if you ever get stung by a wasp. Good stuff to have.
Get a large bowl- I have some silver-plate bowls from the thrift store that I adore, but to each their own. Carefully strain off the oatmeal water- just the water, leave the mush in the jar- and add to bowl.
If you have it or can find it, coconut water and coconut milk are wonderful additions, especially if the idea of sitting in cow-based dairy isn’t your favorite. Beyond the attributes mentioned in the afore-linked video, these leave your skin soft. A warning- the coconut milk is fatty, so you’ll want to hose out your tub with hot water, at least, and your hair will probably not need conditioner that day. On the bright side, if you have a sunburn it works wonders at soothing the irritation on your skin. I try to find ones that are without as many additives as possible- coconut water is easier to find. Trader Joes has coconut milk and cream without additives, but the brand Chaona is good too, with only one added preservative and has the bonus of coming in smaller cans. For a full bath I generally use one can of milk and two of water. Add it if you want it.
Make some tea, if you have it to spare- mint and/or green tea are both cooling, chamomile calms, etc. Brew it as strong as you like and add to the mix- add it hot or cold, no worries.
Florida Water- you can find this at Walmart, in the ethnic personal products section, on the West Coast. If you don’t have it, don’t add it.
Honey, by preference- dissolve a teaspoonful-ish of honey in a cup of hot water, add. Honey cleanses beautifully, and that rate of dilution shouldn’t cause sticky situations later.
Rainwater, wellwater, stormwater, dew, holy water- if you got it and you like it, add it.
Witch Hazel- I’m not fond of the smell, but its a valid addition.
Top up your bowl with the temperature of water that pleases you. Please note that you will be dumping this over your naked self, and it’ll feel colder once it gets there. Also, if you used coconut milk and it’s kind of lumpy, a little hot water helps melt it.
Take it to the bathroom and set it in an easily accessible area adjacent to the tub. Get in and start the water running. Keep it blood warm or cooler- we are cleansing, not trying for a sauna. Once you have some water to splash in, grab your bowl and pour it directly over your head. Then scoop up some water in the tub, and pour that over your head. Roll if you can. Pour if you can’t. Submerge at least once. Then sit for as long as you are able in your bath and absorb.
Headwash- Same procedure as before, though you may choose to omit the coconut milk if your hair tends to the oily side. This is useful if you have a shower-only bathroom setup- wash as normal, turn off the water, then just before you step out pour the bowl over your head.
Handwash- ok, so you can’t (for various reasons) allow either of the previous methods. It also works when you have little to no time. Instead, to a bowl of clean water add a splash of milk (coconut or regular cow), brewed tea of the aforementioned types, any special waters, Florida Water or witch hazel, and a dribble of honey. Mix. If you can, scrub it into your skin up to the elbows. If you can’t, rinse your hands through it several times. You can also put this in a tub and soak your feet in it.
So, why do this at all? Living, on its own, brings a certain amount of gunk with it. Think of it as the woo-equivalent of the crud that gets on your shoes. Just by walking it accumulates no matter how nice your shoes are. And of course sometimes you step in something nasty and need to get rid of it.
A full bath is like the deluxe cycle at the car wash- lots of detailing and a wax coat that helps prevent more dirt. The headwash is the regular carwash cycle- dirt’s off, no extras. The handwash (or footbath) is the critical cleaning of windows- you gotta keep them clean so you can see. All have their place and use.
To Expand On A Basic Bath- make some tinctures. I have some rosemary steeping in vodka I use for a lot, and adding a healthy glug to a bath is very useful. I make a tobacco tincture too, and that is very nice, both in aroma and in metaphysical properties. I buy a quality pipe tobacco for it and the result ends up with a vanilla-scent to it. A little goes a long way, so a spoonful generally works for a full bath for me. Rosewater, bought or made, adds aroma and protective qualities.
Enjoy.

Milkshake | Destiel Fic
AO3 Link
“It’s a scorcher out there folks, let’s try and cool things off with a milkshake...here’s Milkshake by Kelis.”
The radio man’s voice faded away as the driving bass began the song. Castiel turned up the radio and began to sway his hips. He was clothed in nothing but a pair of bright pink boxers with tiny yellow smiley faces on them. Their air conditioner was busted, so he bought a small oscillating fan from the Walmart down the street, however it didn’t help much. All it seemed to do was push around the hot air, but at least it was something.
Cas was making a pitcher of lemonade with some crystal light mix - also retrieved from Walmart -  to put in the fridge so they could at least have something other than water. He tried not to dance too hard to the songs on the radio, especially in this heat, but Milkshake by Kelis was his weakness. He had to crank it up and dance.
“My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard…” he sang with her as he shook his ass and attempted to bellydance. He felt the sweat started to bead on his forehead and the back of his neck, trailing down the sides of his neck and back, but he didn’t care. In fact, the extra perspiration felt good as it was wicked away by the fan. He moved his shoulders and arms, rolling his body to the beat of the music.
“Man, it’s hotter than an oven in here. Don’t you guys have an air conditioner?”
Cas nearly jumped out of his skin when he heard a voice behind him.
“Holy shit! What the hell man, who are you?!” Cas screamed as he grabbed a throw pillow to cover himself.
“Calm down. I’m Dean, Benny’s ex. I’m guessing you’re the new roommate he was talking about?”
“Yeah…”
Dean smiled, laughing a little and shook his head. “I’m also guessing the inconsiderate fucker didn’t tell you I was coming over to get my things and drop off the key?”
“That would be correct…” Cas felt the red spreading over his cheeks and down his chest. It was already hot, he did not need his body to be blushing right now.
“Anyway, I’m just gonna get my stuff and I’ll be out of your hair.”
Dean made his way passed Cas, slightly brushing his shoulder as he walked by. He looked over his shoulder, giving Cas a long glance. Dean disappeared in Benny’s room for a while then when he finally emerged, he had a backpack that was most likely filled with clothes and other personal effects.
“Nice meeting you…?” Dean trailed off, waiting for Castiel to enter his name.
“Castiel - Cas. Everyone calls me Cas.”
Dean smiled. “Cas. I like that.”
“Nice to meet you too, Dean. I wish I would have been able to meet you with more clothes on,” Cas joked.
Dean’s lips curled into a wide grin and stared back at Cas through long lashes. “I don’t.”
Cas felt the blush return his cheeks.
“Well, I better get going. Can you tell Benny that I left the keys on his nightstand?”
“Yeah sure.”
Dean smiled made his way to the door and right before he left, he turned back.
“Nice dance moves, by the way,” he said with a wink.

It’s been in the 90s for days. And the air conditioner is broken! x.x
It’s horrible. I didn’t even sleep. I have a fan but I really need the central air on. It’s not good for people with lupus to be exposed to really hot weather. I hope I don’t get a flare. I really don’t need another one.
The dog isn’t used to the heat. He’s always had air conditioning. He’s older now. I hope he’s ok. I think he’s tired of me telling him all the time to drink water. But I want to encourage him because it’s so hot.
I’ve been pretty much consuming celery and water. It’s too hot for food. But I’m almost out of celery! ;_;
I could go to Walmart once it gets dark and cooler. Because it’s so hot in the house going outside in the evening feels nice even if it’s actually pretty hot.
The air conditioner was just serviced too. But when we tried to turn it on it cycled once then never went back on after that. So until it can be fixed I’ll be baking when I’m in the house. This happened a couple of years ago (also in May) and it was horrible. This year May had been pretty chilly and I just wasn’t expecting it to go from the 50s to the 90s overnight.
The temperature should drop in a few days. But I can’t wait. x.x
Everything is sticky in here. Including me. I keep wiping my neck down but it just gets sticky right away. My shoulders too for some reason. And everything plastic or glass is sticky. And if you try to wipe it down it’s sticky again right away. Humidity goo everywhere! ><
I miss winter. At least in the cold you don’t get sweaty.

OGX Coconut Miracle Oil & Coconut Milk Serum Review
I have been having a lot of trouble with my hair recently; It’s been dry and breaking a lot, probably due to my one bad over processing experience a few month back before re-dying my hair, so I decided to search for something that might help.
I was out on a run to walmart, took a stroll down the hair care aisle, seeing the same things as always, I went to reach for my usual Hask Keratin mask when I saw something holo pushed back behind them.
I grabbed the two bottles and saw it was OGX Coconut Miracle Oil shampoo and conditioner. It claimed to help with breakage from dry damaged hair, it also said extra strength so I tossed it along with their Coconut Milk serum that I’d been wanting to try out for a while in my basket and after finishing up, checked out and scurried home.
I usually test out to see if the conditioner softens my hand, it’s a weird little thing I’ve been doing for a few years and gives me a little bit of better judgment on how it’ll act in my hair. It made the back of my hand super silky and soft and after a few hours, was still soft and silky. Some brands have dried the crap out of my hand or just felt sticky and residue-y so I went forward with the whole washing process.
This goes without saying really, but, this stuff smells amazing if you’re into coconut and vanilla(two best smells imo) BUT after washing it out, the smell isn’t as prevalent as it is in the bottle. You can still smell it lingering but it’s very very light.
After rinsing my hair out completely, my went hair felt hundreds times better than it usually does! I always wait until fully dry to determine if it actually works though because wet hair can be very deceiving.
While waiting for my hair to fully dry, I toweled it off and grabbed the serum, it specifically say to use it on damp, towel dried hair unlike most of their serum type products that usually say you can use it with wet or dry hair. It claims to be an anti-breakage serum with really peaked my interest as that’s a big part of my hair problems right now.
I put two pumps worth in the palm of my hand and rubbed it around before stroking it through the bottom two thirds of my hair, rubbing the excess over the top part of my hair. I took another half pumps worth of product into my hands again just to get the entirety of my ends, the most damaged parts.
This stuff also smelled really great, it felt a bit sticky which I expected as I’ve used OGX’s serum and oils before but finally, it was time to just let my hair do it’s thing and air dry. I kept running my fingers through just to detangle it a bit as it dried, since brushing out wet hair is a big no-no.
After fully letting my hair dry, the coconut smells from the three products pretty much went away and left my hair very faintly smelling of vanilla and coconut. My hair felt good, great even, for the first time in about two months. It felt soft and silky, even my little baby hair around my face and at the nape of my neck which usually give me problems, felt good and healthier.
I went to bed happy with how my hair felt but the next morning I woke up and felt that y hair still felt a bit haylike, nat as bad as it usually does but the effects if the products had worn off just a bit. I was still happy though.
This was just after the first wash, I expect these three to work more “magic” the more I use them. OGX is a great brand and I’ve never been unsatisfied with any of their products that I’ve used.
Here’s to hoping these bring my hair back to life!
Until next next time
~ Becca xx

Thank for for the love @themuaalex!! #Repost @themuaalex ・・・ I just explained on snapchat (@themuaalex) how I achieve my luscious curls during my wash n go's. This time I DID NOT shampoo or condition with my regulars (@sheamoisture4u Coconut and Hibiscus and @herbalessences Hello Hydration). Today I just Co-washed using @cantubeauty Complete Conditioning Cowash. On soaking wet hair, I applied @koilsbynature and @officialkinkycurly Knot Today Leave In Conditioners for moisture. Then applied @mitrasbathandbody hair oil to my ends and @cantubeauty tea tree oil to my scalp. I started from the nape of my neck in sections and began shingling @fantasiahaircare IC Gel through my hair (roots to ends) and worked my way up to the top/front of my head. If my hair was too tangled to finger detangle, I used my @denmanbrush to smooth and detangle my hair. Then once my hair was all curly and shiny, I diffused and dried my hair with my walmart blow dryer. I want my hair to be dry for tomorrow so I can "stretch my roots" which gives my hair volume, that's why I diffused rather than air dry. But because the stretching can only be done on DRY hair and my hair is very thick and fine, it normally takes my hair a day or so to dry, so I sped the process up. I will now post a pic of my shriveled up curls side by side with what I'm hoping my curls will look like after I stretch the roots tomorrow... any questions???? 😩#naturalhair. Shouts out to @naturellyfe for my skincare for my face which consists of the liquid African soap and the face oil. I use those at least twice a day. #themuaalexhairproducts (from here in out I will refer yall to the hashtag when asked what I use in my hair, mkay???) #Koilsbynature #kbnbeauty #kbnlove #kbnapproved #kbnatural #veteranowned #vegan #crueltyfree #kbnfamily #kbnturns7
