THE FULL OUTLINE FOR LONELY REMNANTS / CORPSEJUICE IS COMPLETE…. Now to just keep writing the actual damn thing…
I thought it would be eight chapters but it’s going to be twelve if you include the epilogue :,)
Here are the names and songs for each chapter, these are subject to change! If you wanna be completely totally in the dark, I’ll put them in a ‘read more’ so they can be avoided
- Chapter 1 songs: title song (“Ocean Breathes Salty” by Modest Mouse), “Friends In Low Places” by Worthikids, “Go to the Light” by Murder By Death, “Under My Skin” by Jukebox The Ghost, “You’re Dead” by Norma Tanega (for vibes), “Lost” by Amanda Palmer, “Lonesome Town” by Ricky Nelson, “Cut You A Piece” from 35mm, “I Will Always Think of You” from “BoJack Horseman, “Today Today” by Jack Stauber.
- Chapter 2: “I wish I'd find all the lonely remnants, Of you that left when your head cracked open” from “Coma Baby” by Nicole Dollanganger (woah! Guys it’s the title!!). Songs: title song, “Will You Remember?” by The Cranberries, “Sleepwalk” by Forrest Day.
- Chapter 3: “I'll save you from that fate, If I have to kill every angel in Heaven, I will snatch you back from the grave, And you will live to see my bed another day” from “Over the Moon” by Penelope Scott (thanks Cosmo <3 ) (No songs currently other than the title…)
- Chapter 4: “Didn't give me time to say goodbye in the way that I wanted to, So honey, close your eyes and stay like you're supposed to do” from “Pigeon” by Cavetown. Songs: title song, “A Mask of my Own Face” by Lemon Demon.
- Chapter 5: “Now you remember where you came from, Now you remember where you’re going, You’ve got to keep it flowing” from “Spiral of Ants” by Lemon Demon. Songs: title song, “Danny” by Nicole Dollanganger, “Here Before” by Vashti Bunyan, “Meteor Shower” by Cavetown, “Soap” by Penelope Scott.
- Chapter 6: “But you see, It’s not me, It’s not my family” from “Zombie” by The Cranberries. Songs: title song, “STRAIGHT DOWN” by Worthikids, “Lifetime Achievement Award” by Lemon Demon, “Army Dreamers” by Kate Bush, “Everything Moves” by Bronze Radio Return, “Memento Mori” by Crywank, “What Did You Do” by Jack Stauber.
- Chapter 7: “My body’s made of crushed little stars, And I’m not doing anything, I wanna see the whole world” from “My Body’s Made of Crushed Little Stars” by Mitski (guys I promise I tried to limit the amount of mitski… at least there’s no Jack Stauber bc I’m so strong). Songs: title song, “Remember My Name” by Mitski, “The Wolf” by SIAMES.
- Chapter 8: “Hey, Would it be so bad if I stayed? I’m just a ghost out of his grave” from “Ghosting” by Mother Mother. Songs: title song, “Love Will” by Jack Stauber, “dead girl in the pool.” by girl in red, “Body” by Mother Mother, “It Will Come Back” by Hozier.

Panting as he stood over the Koopaling, his fur drenched from the heat of the place already - he can't spare a side glance down to Junior, but he addresses him any way as his gaze digs daggers into the Kong opposite of them who had already recovered from the blow with a vicious shake, a snarl, and a punch in the ground of a step forward. "Yes, that's exactly what I want!" DK growls, fangs flashing towards his opponent. It's a well known fact that Kongs were ever posturing power, and DK is no different as he flares his chest up as if taunting the darker furred Kong to charge him. "...this is not some game, it's the real deal! Your dad probably doesn't even know what's going on...you gotta get back and tell'im what's-" But his advice is met with Dread charging them, none too bothered by the sudden appearance of a wandering craft taking notice of their fight.
Once Dread lunged, it's easy for him to duck from the Kong prince's throat-aimed bite, sliding under an armpit to sidle up a flank and grab him from behind, muscled arms hiked up and locking DK into a full nelson of a shield aimed for the sky. Any annoyance from above would just have to blast DK to pieces before they could agitate him further. "You're weaker than usual... ~ and here I thought I taught you better." Dread tuts lowly in his captive's ear from behind, shifting to hike up his prey with a few vicious yanks before committing and flinging him backwards over his head to crack the other's skull against the ground and hold it there, a rumble of a chuckle sounding in his chest. "I just need the prince...but now, not so much that you're here. Congratulations ~ you're the reason they die."
Tumblr media
Dread mocks, tasting his fangs briefly before launching forward to dig his nails into DK's flank and....slowly but surely, spin them both around with a force strong enough to emit whirlwinds that jostle the craft above. Though wind is the least of the vessel's worries, because Dread soon chucks DK at the ship with full force.
The resounding 'ping' of the Kong smacking heavily into the bow of the floating airship where he swiftly falls back and skids across the rocky terrain until he comes to settle near the other Kooplings that have stopped to investigate. "St-...op. You snotty little-" DK grunts, struggling to rise onto one arm to better see the next attack coming.
Tumblr media
"GET OUTTA HERE NOW. YOU'RE MAKING THIS WORSE-!" It's bad enough Dread is so fixated on Junior, but more Koopalings couldn't possibly make the situation better...especially if Dread decided they were annoying enough to snuff out.

“TWO CONVICTS FACE TRIAL FOR PRISON ATTACK,” Winnipeg Tribune. July 7, 1932. Page 2. ---- Pair Who Beat Guards Are Committed For Trial After Hearing ---- Charged with unlawfully wounding Thomas Clayton, chief keeper, and Alfred Fisher, guard at Stony Mountain penitentiary, Thomas Jones and William Gorda were committed for trial at the assizes, after preliminary hearing before Magistrate R. H. Welsford in provincial police court today.
The attack occurred in the penitentiary yard shortly after 3 pm... April 15, as the prisoners were being returned to the penal cells from the bath-house and change room.
Thomas Clayton said that he observed that Jones and Gorda, while they were in the change room, were exchanging signs and whispering together. Before they left the bath-house, Guard Nelson saw Jones take a waste pipe from a wash- basin and try to hide it under his cont. Nelson reported this to Clayton and the pipe was taken from Jones.
Seizes Sledgehammer Two other prisoners were in the single file marching back to the eella. Gorda and Jones were in the lead. As they turned the east end of the stone-cutting shed, Gorda sprang upon a flat stone and seized a 12-pound sledge hammer left there by workmen.
As the prisoner swung the hammer, the chief keeper leaped for- ward to close with him, but was struck down by a blow on the left temple. At the same time Guard Fisher was knocked out by heavy blows behind the ear and under the chin. He was struck by Jones. The guard could not say whether any weapon was used.
No evidence was brought out at today's hearing concerning the shooting by guards stationed on the prison walls, which resulted in the death of Mike Bihun, a convict who took no part in the attack, but was struck by a stray bullet. Both Gorda and Jones were shot through the legs.
One Chained In Cell Thomas Clayton said that one of the accused convicts had been in the penal cells for 30 days. He could not say which of them it was, nor did he know how long the other man had been in close confinement. During their period of punishment, the men were chained by their hands to the cell bars for six hours each day. They received one full meal and two meals of bread and water.
Colone! William Meighen, warden of the penitentiary, was in Winnipeg at the time of the outbreak. Jones and Gorda were confined in cells five feet by eight feet. They had less than six months to serve before expiration of their sentences. Gorda had been in the penal cell about a week. The warden could not say how long Jones was confined.
If the warden thinks it necessary, Colonel Meighen said, he can order prisoners to the penal cells for violation of prison rules.
Percy Hagel, defence counsel, tried to find out the nature of the prisoners' offence, but the warden. would not give the information.
George D. McVicar conducted the prosecution.

The Man With the Golden Arm (Otto Preminger, 1955) Cast: Frank Sinatra, Eleanor Parker, Kim Novak, Arnold Stang, Darren McGavin, John Conte, Doro Merande, George E. Stone, George Matthews, Leonid Kinskey, Emile Meyer. Screenplay: Walter Newman, Lewis Meltzer, based on a novel by Nelson Algren. Cinematography: Sam Leavitt. Production design: Joseph C. Wright. Film editing: Louis R. Loeffler. Music: Elmer Bernstein. Under the Production Code, alcohol flowed freely, giving us lots of glamorous or lovable drunks. But drug use was strictly taboo, even when it was depicted as a road to degradation, until Otto Preminger thumbed his nose at the Code with The Man With the Golden Arm. Preminger's film is very much about the degradation, but he deftly avoided making it into a "problem picture" with a "just say no" moral tacked on, mainly by focusing on the character of Frankie Machine, played superbly by Frank Sinatra. When we first meet Frankie he's just gotten out of prison rehab and is determined to go straight and get a job as a drummer with a band. But he's saddled with a clinging wife called Zosh, played (and sometimes overplayed) by Eleanor Parker. She wants him to resume his old underground life as a card dealer rather than risk it as a musician, and couldn't care less if that life involves resuming the drugs provided by Louie (Darren McGavin). Zosh is, or so it seems, confined to a wheelchair after an auto accident in which Frankie was the driver, and after which he married her out of pity. In fact, she's just milking the supposed disability for all it's worth, and when no one's around she gets out of the chair and walks. The marriage to Zosh also put an end to Frankie's involvement with Molly, a b-girl in a strip club. She's played by Kim Novak, an actress whose beautiful blankness always allows us to project whatever the script wants us to see in her, as in her greatest film, Vertigo (Alfred Hitchcock, 1958), in which her role is all about the male gaze and its effects. In this film her preternatural beauty seems out of place in the drab urban setting of the film, like an orchid in a junkyard. Anyway, as you can guess, Frankie gets hooked again and has to go cold turkey with Molly's help. The Man With the Golden Arm sometimes feels dated: Sam Leavitt's camerawork is often too bright and flatly lighted, showing up the artificiality of the soundstage sets. But the film works anyway, thanks to the solid dramatic effect produced by Sinatra's performance and the fine support from McGavin and character actor Arnold Stang, who gives a touching performance as Sparrow, a hanger-on devoted to Frankie. Elmer Bernstein's score is a classic, too, as is the  opening title sequence designed by Saul Bass.

At dinner with Jack and his family for the first time (reader is his fiancée). Jack becomes utterly seething with jealousy when his brothers/nephews become too friendly with reader. Reader tries to calm him down at dinner when his temper reaches its limit, she places a gentle hand on his thigh and he takes her somewhere quiet where he can attentively and possessively (quite enjoyably and loudly for them, but much to his brother's dismay) relay his claim over her.
Jack Lays His Claim
(Warnings: 🔞, language, possessiveness, fucking within earshot of the family)
•It all began when Jack's teenage nephews ogled you in the entryway. Jack ignored them, however, laughing to himself when their voices cracked as they introduced themselves.
•His older brother, Patrick, was a different story altogether. Their rivalry went back to childhood and Jack felt his blood pressure increase when Patrick took your hand to escort you into the dining room. "It might be his house, but you're my goddamn girl" Jack thought, clenching his jaw and stomping after you.
•Of course Jack was proud to show you off in front of everyone, but the attention at the table with so many Nelsons was overwhelming. Everyone talked at once wanting to know more about the woman he'd proposed to just last month. You smiled demurely and tried to answer as best you could until Jack interjected. "For Christ's sake, would you let her eat in peace?"
•That's when Jack's younger brother decided to make his opinion known. "Can't let the lady speak for herself, Jack? With an old-fashioned attitude like that she might just leave you for a younger man, you know," he said cutting you a devilish grin. Your cheeks flushed hot at the notion and you could tell Jack was ready to explode in a fit of anger.
•Reaching under the table you squeezed his thigh gently and flashed him a reassuring smile to let him know you only had eyes for him. However, you noticed his leg bouncing with pent up energy and you knew he was agitated. Without warning he stood from the table, pulling you with him. "I need a word with my fiance," he said without further explanation and proceeded to lead you into the study adjacent to the dining room.
•"Jack, what on earth has gotten into you?" you said, looking down at his hand still firmly clasped around your wrist. He didn't answer as he pulled you into him and dug his hand into the back of your hair, pressing into you for a searing kiss that lasted longer than you had breath to fill it.
•Before you knew what was happening, Jack had hoisted you atop the large desk and began nipping at the side of your neck as he ran a hand along the inside of your thigh mumbling, "You're my girl, all mine."
"Who else would I belong to, Jack?" you said as he worked to unbutton his trousers.
"Show me," he said. "Please let me have you here," he begged and you reached down to feel his growing need for you. You bit your lip, nodding eagerly and that was all the permission he needed, burying himself to the hilt in one swift movement.
•You stifled a desperate cry with the back of your hand and Jack reached out to pull it away, holding you by your jaw to look him in the eye as he thrust into you with abandon. "Don't do that, doll. Make all your beautiful sounds for me, okay?" he panted. Your head fell back in pleasure, but you couldn't mistake the hint of a smirk in his tone when he instructed, "Need you to scream my name tonight."
