Nemea

Nemea was a religious sanctuary in the northern Peloponnese of Greece where pan-Hellenic athletic games were held every two years from 573 BCE until 271 BCE, after which, the Games were definitively moved to Argos.

During a very cold windy Sunday, we went to explore Nemea, whose name might be familiar because of the lion and Hercules and so.

But Dim told me the story of this archaeological site and it was very interesting. There was this american guy, Stephen Miller, that back in the 70s asked to the greek government permission to excavate in Nemea, because he knew what he was going to find: The stadium, the Zeus temple, and some more. And he did! All with his money and donors money, Greece didn't have to pay for any of these. The guy spent decades in there, unearthing, restoring and finally opening both the site and the museum. He even managed to bring back the Nemean games (similar to the ancient olympic games) and now they're celebrated every 4 years, anyone can attend!

So, bless Mr. Miller, because this site was amazing and actually this was one of the few places where they actually let you step into the ruins and the temple itself :)

2017年ギリシャ旅行記

2017年のギリシャ旅行の写真をまとめました。上の写真はスニオンのポセイドン神殿

飛行機は関空発ドバイ経由エミレーツ。快適でした。

入国審査で引っかかり（写真の人相が違いすぎた）心が折れそうになるも、気さくなタクシーのおじちゃんやバスターミナルのおじちゃんに優しくしてもらい元気になれた初日でした。この日は遠目にアクロポリスを拝んでホテルに戻る

翌日はアクロポリスからのスタート！アテナ・ニケ神殿の裏っかわを拝んだり門？をくぐったりしながら奥にすすむと…

パルテノンだー！写真で何度も見たやつ！！！

裏手に回ってディオニュソス神域とディオニュソス劇場、アスクレピオス神域

日が変わります。ゼウス推しのハドリアヌス帝が力技で建てたゼウス神殿。でっっっかいぞ！ここは元々昔からゼウス神域だったそうで、もしかしたら何か下に埋まってんのかな

日付が変わり、この日は高速バスでネメアに向かい、ゼウス神殿を訪れました。ギリシャの三大競技祭開催神域の１つであり、ギリシャの三大ゼウス神域の１つ。

神域の近くには禊のための浴場があり、道路を挟んだ場所に競技場があります。ピストルの代わりに棒を倒して競争の合図をする装置があって、それが競技場に現存してる！

ぶどう畑に埋もれるみたいに佇んでいるゼウス神殿。行きのバスで降り場所を間違えてカフェのお兄さんにタクシー呼んでもらったり、神殿近くのワイナリーで試飲してお土産ワイン買ったり地元の人との接点が多かった。この日はネメアだけで燃え尽きました。

日付が変わります！この日はテラモン兄弟の生まれ故郷、サラミス島を訪れました。最初ピレウスに来たらそこからは船があんま出ていないと分かり、隣の港ペラマまで移動…

松と岩に覆われた島です　発掘途中っぽそうなミケーネ時代の遺跡はフェンスがない場所もありました。それでいいんか

魚介類さんのテラモン兄弟Tと一緒にパシャリ！テラモン兄弟もこの風景を見ながら暮らしてたのかな〜

ひとしきり見終わって行きのタクシーのおっちゃんに電話するも塩対応でお迎えも来ないという恐怖体験。かける番号名刺の裏表で間違えてた

旅行最終日、早起きしてバスに乗り、まずはアッティカ半島の突堤先スニオンに来ました。

このあとはアテネ考古学博物館にほんのちょっとだけ寄って帰路につきました。予定が押し押しになって展示物しっかり見て回れなかったのでリベンジしたいところ。

この旅ではアクロポリス博物館、ネメアの神殿横の博物館に行きました。古代アゴラ内の博物館も見そびれてる…

Meet Nemea, another one of my OCs whom I have been tinkering with for a while, she is the leader of the Clan Lands united military forces and was character concepted by the amazing https://ko-fi.com/karrotdraws.

Nemea is roughly halfway between Corinth and Nafplio. The name is famous as it was here that Hercules carried out the first of his twelve labours, namely the slaying of the Nemean Lion that lived in a nearby cave. Thanks for the ask! 💕 You decided to go anon, but I know who you are, of course 🤭 I won't reveal it tho haha But for everyone else, Lily and Nemea are Szi's sisters and I'm currently working more on their info, hopefully I'll formally introduce them here soon~ For now you'll get a sneak peek at them!

I'll answer the ones for the other 3 first thought, since I don't have a banner for the sisters yet! This is gonna be a long post, buckle up xD

He's way too busy to partake on these foolish human traditions! Besides, you should show love for your partner all year round, not only on a particular day!!!

That's his "open" answer, but inside he'll be hoping his beloved asks to spend the day together and showers him with love 🤭

flowers: what’s the best romantic gift to give someone?

He thinks the best gift is some finely crafted piece of art. It can be any form of art too, a drawing, a sculpture, a poem, a piece of music, etc. Anything that inspired his lover to create when thinking of Szi~ if it's material, he'll definitely keep it forever 💕

And, of course, he'll often gift poems or beautifully written letters to show his affections.

doves: what’s the most romantic thing someone’s done for you?

It will have to be when his lover declared his earnest love for him, directly and with no hesitation. Szi needs a lot of reassurance to open his heart, and that absolutely melted him and made him fall even more deeply in love~

st. valentine: what are your hopes for love this year?

A big amazing outing, in a fancy place and be showered with love and gifts---!!

If only, but he's gotta be more realistic here hahah His lover is often busy and can't splurge that much. But still, Oriol has been planning a cute romantic date at a modest but trendy cafe for a few weeks~ and he'll invite this time so he can spoil his beloved too~ ;)

Still, he hopes he'll get a cute gift and lots of love on Valentine's Day~

Like I said on the last ask, he loves really big cliche gestures and gifts. He'll go for a big bouquet of roses and a declaration~~

He's also really fond of getting gifted jewelry or accessories. He can wear them all the time and get reminded of his beloved~ (and brag about it to everyone hahah "look at what my boyfriend gifted mee for Valentine's Day~~~ 🤭💕" xD)

doves: what’s the most romantic thing someone’s done for you?

For all his love for grand gestures, the one that got to him the most was a really private and soft moment.

Just after waking up in his lover's arms for the first time, hair a mess and no makeup one. He looked horrible for sure. But his beloved looked at him with eyes full of love and told Oriol how beautiful he is and how much loves him. Oriol was so moved that he even teared up a bit, melting into him ♥️

st. valentine: what are your hopes for love this year?

To be completely honest, she hopes her lover remembers that is Valentine's Day. She already made sure they have a date that day, but he tends to be in his own world and might not realize xD

Still, they'll have a nice outing she prepared~

For her, the thought is what counts the most. As long as the person really put effort on finding something she'd love, she'll be really happy no matter what it is. The love and care shown is what's most romantic 💕

When her beloved helps her get through uneven/slippery terrain or helps her get down from somewhere~ The way he just holds her hand in his and guides her. Or holds her waist to get her down... so romantic and effortlessly intimate!!

What do you mean she has to chose one thing? It just keeps being the most romantic thing every time it happens 😌💕

She's too busy to waste time with dumb traditions like this one! But still, she always gets letters and gifts on Valentine's days from people who have a crush on her. She mostly rejects them outright.

Maybe one day she'll get a confesion from someone she likes, tho~

It has to be something unique made just for her and no one else. Doesn't particularly have to be useful, it can just be decorative, but it has to take her aesthetic and preferences into account. It has to feel like the other person really knows her and is "intimate" in a way.

doves: what’s the most romantic thing someone’s done for you?

She doesn't have much romance experience yet, but there was one time, back in middle school, when a random guy on her class gave her his jacket when she looked really cold and she was really impressed. He did it so effortlessly and cool~ she didn't fall for him or anything, but it made her blush a lot at the moment and she viewed him in a better light from then on hahah.

Weeeeell, there's a few cute guys she likes to tease~ but she doesn't like any of them enough to confess or give them gifts on this day. But maybe if one of them confesses to her, she'll think about it? Depends on how well they do~ 🤭

Just as the question is named: flowers. A big colourful extravagant bouquet. Buying something like that and carrying it all the way till they met requires a lot of courage and shows how serious the person is and Nemea feels like that's really romantic~ Also, she really likes flowers 😌

doves: what’s the most romantic thing someone’s done for you?

Well, a dude that was interested in her in the past asked what she found romantic and she answered what I said on the last question. He gave her such a big bouquet she could barely hold it steady. She was so impressed she went out with him (it didn't last too long tho, they weren't too compatible hahaha).
